eBay I got completely ripped off

I have fallen victim to a scam through ebay, I was selling a very expensive phone worth £300 and a fraudster from Nigeria put in a bid for £443.00, Ebay emailed me to say that i needed to re list it as the bidder did not have the authority to place the bid. But then i got an email from deanleber (the bidder) saying that the bid was made by him. 5 minutes later i got another email to say that it was the authorized bidder and the account has been restored and if i didn't send the phone within 24hrs my account would be suspended, i also received an email from paypal to say that the money was being held in an account and would be released into my account as soon as i gave them a shipping number I fell hook line and sinker and posted it off, I had a horrible feeling that something wasn't right so i searched through the ebay site t0o try and find something to do with spoof emails it took me 2 hours they are that well hidden, they are no good to anyone... My gripe with ebay is why do they not have alerts on there home page for people about these sort of things, i had never used ebay before and will never use them again because of this i am a victim but all ebay could do was say they were sorry (that didn't give me my £300 phone back though did it). I am so angry that someone has done this to me and i am so angry that ebay have done nothing to try and make me feel better.

They are useless!

This is an Ebay scam run completely by Ebay themselves.

Let me start off by saying that I’ve used eBay and PayPal for years (about 10 at last count) and was satisfied with both services until about two years ago. Let me tell you why I have become disgusted and think eBay and PayPal have turned into nothing more than a den of thieves.

Instead of regale you with hearsay and colorful antidotes I will impart the details of my last three selling experiences.

The first sale was a PowerMac G5 computer that was about two years old. Now while I didn't lose any money, (I’ll talk about the wonders of charge-backs later) I should have taken it as a clue as to what eBay had become.

It all started when I began to get a deluge of people wanting to know if I could end the auction early, sell it to them at nearly double the asking price and ship it to their poor family still in Nigeria. Why a poor family in Nigeria needs a $6, 000 PowerMac is beyond me.

I finally did sell the item to a person in Florida and so far everything has worked out. The reason I say so far is that charge-backs are now a staggering problem on eBay.

A charge-back occurs after a buyer has paid and you have shipped the item to them. The buyer informs either PayPal or their credit card company that the item was defective, not as advertised etc. At this point PayPal removes the funds from your account pending an investigation. This can happen up to a year after the payment has been made.

While I understand this is necessary to protect the buyer I think more protection is needed for the seller (PayPal seller protection is a joke and I wont waste your time retyping their abhorrent terms of service here). I strongly feel that the buyer should have to return the item to the seller before a refund is issued.

Second item up for bids was an original XBox that I stopped using. While I still had the Nigeria problem the real fun with this auction started when the XBox went for twice what it should have.

Now you might be wondering why I would care that the item sold for 2x what I wanted. Normally I wouldn’t mind and would disregard it as bidding zealously, but in this case the higher bidder was, drum-role please... A man from Nigeria with zero feed back! I dislike how eBay lets bidders bid with no confirmed address or on items for US sale only when they do not have a valid US address.

The XBox was an interesting auction not just because it was won by a person supposedly in Nigeria, but that it was eventually won (through the second chance option) by a individual that contacted me before the auction had ended letting me know the current winning bidder was a fraud. Now while this in and of itself doesn't seem like suspicious behavior the sequence of events that follow sure did.

The high bidder started to haggle over the final price. He had a high bid of $170 but said he was just “feeling out the fraud from Nigeria” and wanted to know If I’d sell the item for $150 shipped. I informed him that I had another bidder willing to pay $165 shipped and would let him have it for that. In case your wondering he should have paid $190 shipped.

After the XBox auction I started doing some research and it seems that this is a common eBay scam. The idea behind the scam is to use a fictitious account to run an auction up a ridiculously high price thus deterring anyone else from bidding on the item. After the auction the scam is to either sit and wait for a second chance offer or to approach the seller with an offer to buy. While not a total bust for the seller it robs the seller of fair auction and the price they should have gotten.

Not for a lack of trying the last item I never did sell on eBay. The item was a two month old MacBook Pro 17” laptop. I placed it on auction with a buy it now price of $1, 999. Of course no one used buy it now option and the laptop went through what is now the normal course (fake bids, side selling, etc...) until the auction stood at $2, 975, which is more than the unit cost new from Apple. The same scam as the XBox seemed to be at play.

The buyer sent funds to me before I could withdraw the auction and requested shipment to an unconfirmed address. Now this really gets the seller into a bad situation. You can’t deny the payment you have to accept it and then refund it and then get eBay to waive their fees. In the end, if you are successful you will just end up losing about 2 weeks of your time.

Obviously not every buyer/seller on eBay is a scam artist. I’m absolutely certain that tens of thousands if not millions of auctions a year go off with out a hitch, but for me the headaches, risks and time just aren’t worth it. As a result I’m done messing around with eBay and PayPal. I’ve closed my accounts and will stick to services like Craig’s List and the classified section of the local newspaper.

eBay paypal - cheating buyers

I am having a very bad experience with PAYPAL - buyer protection claim. I bought a scanner on ebay in which it was clearly mentioned that scanner comes with power adapter, but when i received the package, power adapter was not shipped. I tried to contact seller who offered me for $5 refund but power adapter is not available in market in $5. so I approached paypal resolution. after reviewing the case for 45days paypal informed me that my dispute does not fit in their criteria for the category "Item does no received as described".

It is really unable to digest, how PAYPAL claims that it does not fit into the category "Item does no received as described. It means PAYPAL encourage incomplete order from seller and harrass buyer for the same.

I have included the email exchange between me and paypal.

Hello,
I have not received power adaptor yet, How can you say that item delivered was as per specification. Looks like you don't want to deliver justice to me.

Please see below the item description in which it is clearly mentioned that scanner comes with power adapter.

You are bidding on a used Radio Shack USB Flatbed Scanner. This scanner as far as i know is in working condition. Comes with an power adapter; the power adapter is not the original adapter that came with the product. The printer buttons include:

I sold a brand new in the box Klipsch Soundbar to a man named Charles Hoover in Hawaii around christmas. A month later he files a dispute for "item not described". The ad had pictures of the unopened boz with the model number on it and everything. Paypal reveresed payment even though I sent them documentation straight from Klipsch saying it was their product. He was supposed to send it back within 2 weeks. He printed out a postage label as proof of shipping but the post office confirmed they never received it. Now two months later it was supposedly shipped but I never received and it was shipped with no delivery confirmation. I have never had issues with anyone doing this. It was ebays mistake with the reversal to begin with so they should be covering it with ebays buyer/seller protection. Now they have taken money out of my account for things I sold yesterday that doesn't even belong to me. I told them they were going to have to pay Mr. Hoover and these 2 other peoples money they took anyways so why not do what their policy states they will do. They said basically we don't care. Oh well me neither.

My biggest complaint is that Paypal holds your money for so long and not so much it the total cash form but I buy and sell on Ebay if a buyer pays shipping then you should be able to ship that item right away and not wait for up to a week to be able to print a shipping label I have gotten complaints about the time table and clearly showed Ebay that it was them and Paypal that were holding up the transaction its not fair for me or you to front the shipping cost. Second they will put you out of business in the blink of a eye..And to think its a wonder why people have to keep trying to open new accounts If they say you owe them and you don't you have to pay no matter what..Well right now I owe them $65.00 dollars that they took from my account I showed Paypal/Ebay where and when the money was taken there answer was that that money was shipping fees which was not so but your left with a choice to pay it or try and open a new account man I had such a good account my buyers were all happy the sellers were all happy and these people from paypal/ebay ruined that account my account now I have five people waiting on shipping I can't print the labels

I agree with you that Paypal cheating buyers. I have bought a watch through i-offer.com, and paid 169.00 USD, One hour after payment trasaction is done, I received an e-mail from i-offer informed that the seller is deleted and my recent transaction may be fraudulent, I cotacted Paypal the same day ans as soon as I received i-offer.com message. One wek later I received a registered package from the seller containg a plastic strap for a little chinese watc. I reported the issue to Paypal and asked for refund. Paypal asked me to report the case to the police and send a copy to of police report to Paypal. The same day I contacted the police and acquired a police report and sent it to Paypal. Later Paypal asked me to send translation of the police report, I have done. One week later Paypal asked me to acquire more information from the Police, I contacted the police by e-mail with c.c. to Paypal. After receiving Police information I translated it by Google and sent the original answer and Google translation to Paypal. furthermore Paypal has got all references and was asked to contact the Police directly for further information when it is needed. Meanwhile I received a message from Paypal informing that the police report is invalid and the case is closed. Now I have neither the watch nor Money back. My advice to you is, Please see the buyer feedback and think for buying an exepensive item by Internet. Paypal buyer's protection means nothing. Surely it is the buyer problem and the buyer is not protected at all.

PayPal locked my account because I spent more than $10, 000 in a year. They want me to give them my banking
info or get their credit card. No notice, no warning, they just blocked my last purchase. I closed my Ebay/PayPal

Paypal is always cheating, last time, I receivece a broken laptop, I ask them to stop paying to the seller, they just ignored my request, continued to pay the seller. This time, I payed with a Canada dollars, they will use the exchange rate: 1 CAD = 0.972488 USD as the exchange rate is 1 CAD = 1.0011.

So, avoid being cheated, never buy any stuff through Ebay.

eBay shopping on ebay india is very very risky!

I had purchased a product from ebay online on 4th april seller discountedgames07 item code is [protected] & the payment is made of rs 1349, paisapay id [protected]. But on 7th april the seller become unregistered member on ebay. And i had not received the product yet, seller has not responded to me after several mails & even ebay india is also not taking any serious action against it.

Ebay company should take some serious responsibility to solve this problem, they are not responding well. I know i had lost my money but i had also lost faith on ebay india online shopping concept, as they have no rules if any buyer or seller become defaulter. In future i will never buy online from ebay india, this was my first & last dealing...

Please note: shopping on ebay india is very very very risky.

Anybody guide...? Professional juicer - ever green - heavy duty item number: [protected]

eBay cheating at ebay purchase!

I have paid INR 450/- on 11/02/2007 to online purchase of item AB Slimming Belt (Item No.[protected]) through Paisa Pay (ID: [protected]) from the seller srinivasan15. But the item has not been delivered to my address. Moreover, the seller has de-registered from ebay site after receiving the payment. From ebay I could not receive the email ID of the seller. The phone number given by them was proved to be fake. I lodged the complaint in dispute forum of ebay, but do not expect much help from them as they are lingering with my complaint on the pretext of dispute rules. ebay does not verify the contact information of the seller when they register to the site. ebay is only interested to extort fees from the seller at the expense of customer security. There is no security to the customers purchasing items in ebay and they are at the mercy of dishonest sellers who in connivance of ebay are robbing the customers. Be careful to purchase anything through ebay.

I bought a Panasonic 42'plasma TV from ebay India. The product got delivered to the address on 17-11-11. Obviously the panel in the TV was broken and when approached the seller he said ha can't refund.I opened a dispute under item not as described on resolution center and after waiting for 10 days for seller's response, I escalated the claim for a refund under buyer protection policy on which I was advised that I will receive an email from ebay with further instruction within a week about what to do next.

Ebay claims department never sent me an email with further instruction and after 24 days of waiting for emails and tons of phone calls to customer care explaining the situation everytime, finally received an email from claim adjuster saying I need to send the pics within 3 days. I sent the pics the same day when I received the email from him and he closed the case the next day in favor of the seller without any explanation in writing.

I feel so much violated and exploited by this act as no one holds any accountability or responsibility for this. On phone he said he has the absolute power to do this and he has made a decision and that is final.

Please help me to make a complaint on this particular claim adjuster who has been very arrogant and rude and also escalate this situation to a higher official to review this matter.

I am absolutely devastated by this experience as the amount involved is 37, 000 INR. I Live in Australia and never faced with situations like this here.

It makes me feel like the claims department in ebay India works in favor of sellers. I would really appreciate, if anyone can help me to resolve this situation.

Looking forward for your advice,
Regards,
Theo

I am also victim of Ebay. I purchased a Shirt from Ebay Amounting 2500/-. Surprisingly the seller sent the used Shirt (Even Sirf Excel scent was coming). I claimed to Ebay but instead of going through issue, they just closed the issue in seller favour. Honestly I don't have faith with ebay.

Remember: Always purchase from shop because:
1. You are not aware what seller is sending. He can send a packet of soil, and if you complain ebay won't come for rescue.
2. Even if they send the corret item it is not sure it will be new one (He can send used one and ebay won't bother to check).
3. If product won't be working even though you will have to pay. Noone worry about it.
4. What about the warranty. If you purchase from ebay you won't have any proof of purchase (The Seller never sents stamps on the warranty card, which is mandatory for warranty in many case) as they are not dealer, they are not authorized or dealer of that company.
5. If you go the the Service center of that product they will ask for the date of purchase, and other docs that's why your product won't have warranty.

So friend always go to shop for purcahse you know the shop and in case of anything goest wrong atleast you can atleast complain for them. Ebay never bother to take your advise once you make the comment.

SO FRIEND BEWARE THEY ARE ONLINE PORTALS NOT A SHOP. BEWARE

Pl refer PaisaPay ID [protected]. The 'PaisaPay protection' / 'PaisaPay Customer Support' / 'ebay Guarantee' and after all "eBay" seems to be farce.PaisaPay Protection / PaisaPay Customer Support etc., all are big farce. I came to know that eBay is the world's biggest online cheating portal.

RESPECTED SIR/MAM,

IN THIS MAIL I WOULD LIKE TO DISCUSS A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE WHICH HAS HAPPENED WITH ME.
BRIEF DETAILS ARE AS FOLLOWS:-

A BUYER NAMED SATISH KUMAR ITEM I.D.:- [protected] BUYER I.D.:- 2009SATISHKUMAR PURCHASED THIS ITEM FORM ME .
IT IS A VERY RARE AND EXPENSIVE ITEM.
A FEW DAYS AFTER THE DELIVERY TOOK PLACE HE CALLED ME AND SAID THAT HE DOUBTED THE ORIGINALITY OF THE ITEM. I TOLD HIM TO RETURN THE ITEM FOR A FULL REFUND.
NOW, AT THIS TIME HE SAID THAT I SHOULD RETURN 50% OF THE AMOUNT BACK AT FIRST THEN HE WOULD SEND THE ITEM BACK.
I FLATLY REFUSED THIS DEMAND AND TOLD HIM TO SEND THE ITEM BACK AT FIRST.
NOW, SUDDENLY AT THIS POINT OF TIME THIS BUYER OPENED A ITEM NOT AS RECEIVED/DESCRIBED CASE AGAINST ME. STILL HE DID NOT COURIER THE ITEM BACK TO ME.
THE CASE KEPT ON LINGERING.
NOW, SUDDENLY A WEEK BACK, ONE MR. SOHAIL I BELIEVE FROM THE CLAIMS DEPARTMENT CALLED ME UP.AND WITHOUT LISTENING TO MY SIDE OF THE MATTER TOLD ME IN STRAIGHT TERMS TO REFUND THE AMOUNT.
I TOLD HIM (MR. SOHAIL) THAT THIS IS NOT THE CASE AS IT SEEMS TO HIM AND HE SHOULD LISTEN TO MY END OF THE CASE AS WELL.
NOW, MR. SOHAIL FROM THE CLAIMS DEPARTMENT IS CALLING ME 2-3 TIMES A DAY AND HE FLATLY REFUSES TO LISTEN TO ME.
I AM A POWERSELLER ON EBAY. I HAVE HUNDREDS OF SATISFIED BUYERS WITH ME.
YESTERDAY I.E. 2ND DEC 2010 MR.SOHAIL CALLED ME UP AND HAD AN ARGUMENT WITH ME.HE FLATLY TOLD ME THAT, THE BUYER IS CORRECT AND I AM WRONG. NOT WILLING TO LISTEN TO ME.
HE ALSO TOLD ME THAT IF I WANT TO COMPLAIN ABOUT HIM I AM FREE TO DO SO. AND THREATENED IF THAT IF HE WANTED TO CLOSE THE CASE HE CAN DO IT ANYTIME AGAINST ME.
IS THIS A JOKE GOING ON? I HAVE SENT A EXPENSIVE ITEM TO THE BUYER. AND MR. SOHAIL WANTS ME TO REFUND THE BUYERS AMOUNT.
SO I BELIEVE THE BUYER KEEPS THE ITEM AND ALSO GETS THE REFUND IF I GO ACCORDING TO MR. SOHAIL FROM THE EBAY CLAIMS DEPARTMENT.
NOW, AFTER I TALKED TO MR. SOHAIL YESTERDAY I CALLED UP EBAY CUSTOMER SUPPORT AND TRIED TO LODGE A COMPLAINT REGARDING NON TRUST IN MY CLAIMS ADJUSTER MR. SOHAIL.
I TOLD THE EBAY CUSTOMER SUPPORT THAT I HAVE NO CONFIDENCE IN MR. SOHAIL FOR A FAIR TRIAL AND THAT I WANTED A CHANGE. THIS CALL WAS RECEIVED BY A LADY I BELIEVE NAZARIN( NOT SURE OF THE SPELLING) AND THIS LADY CAN YOU BELIEVE TRANSFERRED THE CALL DIRECTLY TO MR. SOHAIL.
HE IMMEDIATELY TOLD ME THAT IF I WANTED TO COMPLAIN I AM FREE TO DO SO.
AND THAT HE WOULD REMAIN MY CLAIMS ADJUSTER AND NO MATTER WHERE I COMPLAIN AND HE BANGED THE PHONE.
I ONCE AGAIN CALLED UP EBAY CUSTOMER SUPPORT. NOW, THIS CALL WAS RECEIVED BY ONE MR.SUMIT. WHEN I TOLD HIM MY ISSUE HE PUT ME ON HOLD AND TOLD ME TO WAIT.
AFTER A WAIT OF MORE THAN 6 MINUTES HE CAME BACK(MR.SUMIT) AND TOLD ME THAT HE HAD A WORD WITH MR.SOHAIL.
AT THIS POINT OF TIME I TOLD THE EBAY CUSTOMER SUPPORT THAT IF I AM COMPLAINING AGAINST NON BELIEF IN A EBAY CLAIMS ADJUSTER THEN HE SHOULD HAVE TALKED TO A PERSON SENIOR TO HIM. HE TOLD ME THAT THERE IS NO POLICY UNDER WHICH A CLAIMS ADJUSTER CAN BE CHANGED. AT THIS POINT I TOLD HIM THAT EBAY ALSO DOES NOT HAVE A POLICY WHICH SAYS THAT A CLAIMS ADJUSTER CANNOT BE CHANGED.
I THEN TOLD EBAY C.C.(MR.SUMIT) TO FILE A COMPLAINT REGARDING MY MATTER. AFTER A LOT OF HASSLES HE LODGED A COMPLAINT FOR CHANGE OF
CLAIMS ADJUSTER VIA COMPLAINT NO: [protected].

PLS. HELP ME OUT IN THIS CASE. MR. SOHAIL IS DEAD AGAINST ME. IF THERE IS ANYONE IN EBAY WHO CAN HELP ME OUT. IF I AM TALKING A CLAIMS ADJUSTER SHOULD ALSO TALK AND NOT GIVE THREATS. DON'T YOU THINK THIS AMOUNTS TO UNFAIR PRACTICES FORM THE CLAIMS ADJUSTER MR. SOHAIL...MAYBE JUST TO SHOW EBAY RESULTS. BUT TO SHOW RESULTS HE CANNOT MAKE A SCAPEGOAT OF ANYONE ACCORDING TO HIS WHIMS AND FANCIES.

PLS. HELP ME IN GETTING MY CLAIMS ADJUSTER MR.SOHAIL CHANGED FOR A FAIR TRIAL TO TAKE PLACE. MR. SOHAIL HAS ALSO GIVEN HIS CELL NO:- 9967319XXX(NUMBER WITHHELD FOR SECURITY REASONS) TO ME. FOR WHAT PURPOSE HAS HE GIVEN ME HIS CELL NO? DOES EBAY ALLOW ITS EMPLOYEES TO GIVE THEIR PERSONAL CELL NUMBERS TO THE ANYONE ON THE EBAY PLATFORM? I DONT THINK THAT EBAY ALLOWS ITS EMPLOYEES TO DISCLOSE THEIR CELL NUMBERS.
OR MAYBE MR SOHAIL IS ABOVE ALL AND IS EXEMPT FROM ALL EBAY POLICIES WHICH GOVERN ITS EMPLOYEES.
I DOUBT HIS INTEGRITY AND IF YOU CAN LISTEN TO ALL THE CONVERSATIONS IF RECORDED WHICH HAVE HAPPENDED BETWEEN MR.SOHAIL AND ME..YOU CAN EASILY MAKE OUT THAT IT IS JUST PRESSURE AND THREATS WHICH ARE BEING ISSUED BY MR. SOHAIL.

eBay the bidding system is rigged!

Details for item number: [protected]
Item title: mint dell wifi laptop+huge accessory bundle+1 day sale!
Item url:

During the final minutes of the bid it appears that the site was using an automated system to force up the price of the item. we were receiving challenging bids in dollars and cents e. g. $238.35 faster than we could type.in other words it appears that a number of individuals affiliated with the site are actively collaborating to increase the price on the item. we have bid on items many times on ebay and have never seen it done this obviously. we want you to investigate this matter and let us know if such behavior is appropriate. we have notified our colleagues and affiliates to avoid bidding on that site and to be wary of other sites on ebay that exhibit the same behavior. we are also reporting this matter to the us department of commerce and us department of justice. thank you.

eBay beware, having any dealings with this nut!

I won an ebay auction from Rebecca Wildfong in which I paid for within 5 minutes of the auction ending. After 14 days, I received the wrong set of bowls. I find that Rebecca Wildfong has turned my bid on an auction win into a direct order to Tupperware. After almost 3 weeks, she sent the correct set of bowls through yet another person/company in another state. Rebecca Wildfong sent me the money to ship back the original WRONG set of bowls, to her, even though she did not ship them to me, Tupperware did, and I boxed and shipped them back to her at the address provided to me from her payment company, PayPal. After 2 weeks the bowls came back to me as undeliverable. I did refund, at her request, the $6.00 that Rebecca Wildfong sent me for shipping. Rebecca Wildfong in no longer a registered user at ebay because she apparently deceived others as well. She is no longer an active Tupperware consultant because Tupperware strictly forbids an active consultant from selling Tupperware brand products on ebay or any other online auction site. This is just another harassment tactic on Rebecca Wildfongs part. I can only put my side of the story out there and let others make up their own minds as to who the fraudulent party is.

BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE...This freak is currently signing me up for any and all junk e-mail and spam that you can possibly find on the internet to sign up for. BEWARE... Having any dealings with this nut may result in the same thing for you. Please search for REBECCA WILDFONG on Google and find all the personal information on her and you will see what a freak she is. She is involved in MANY direct selling companies, websites and contests. She has her age, children names and ages her address, her resume, and other interesting information all over the world wide web. Check it out!

Rebecca Wildfong's current e-mail addresses are [protected]@sbcglobal.net. and [protected]@hotmail.com

Interestingly enough, all of this could have been avoided it Rebecca Wildfong had been running an honest ebay business. She would have not been trying to sell something that she did not even have in her possession. She would have mailed my item out within a reasonable amount of time (3 days instead of 14), she would have mailed the correct item (not a substitution because the original item was out of stock at Tupperware) or, imagine this, she would have not even listed the auction in the first place...since she did not have the product, she was not suppose to be direct selling Tupperware products on an auction site or, now, I know this is the hard one...go out and get a real job and stop trying to make people think you are someone you are NOT! I was successful in getting her off of Ebay, banned from selling Tupperware and I am sure within a day or so, she will not have any of the e-mail addresses that she has been sending spam from...because I have contacted Yahoo, MSN, SBC Global and other direct selling companies that she has an e-mail address through to get her shut down due to the excessive amounts of junk mail and spam that I received yesterday from her and all the internet crap she signed me up for. Oh yes, she has a cat named Gilligan. She also sells Adult only items from a company called BEDROOM SECRETZ! How SICK!

eBay beware of purchasing from this dishonest person!

I was the seller through Tupperware, and this person purchased from me. I sent the item a little late, and the buyer filed a dispute with Paypal. Paypal gave them their money back out of my account, but I had already shipped the item to them. So I appealed the dispute with a shipping tracking number, and I won the appeal with paypal because I had proof of delivery. Paypal told me it was my responsibility to get my money back from the customer. The customer has not responded to any of the many emails I have sent them asking for payment for their purchase. I have proof of the purchase, proof from Paypal that I won the appeal, a tracking number showing proof of delivery, and also proof that paypal gave them their money back, plus copies of all the emails I have sent to this person asking for payment. The original purchase from me was on May 2nd through Ebay, Item Number [protected]. Payment was made to me on May 2, 2006 through Paypal for $34.99, Paypal Transaction number 6WJ345454S056014E. Paypal gave money back to buyer on June 12, 2006, Paypal Transaction number 8MM4408025628092T - BUT my merchandise was DELIVERED to them on June 9, 2006 - www.usps.com tracking number [protected]. June 14th, 2006, I appealed case with Paypal and won, but Paypal said I was on my own to get money back. Customer has ignored repeated attempts to collect. BEWARE OF PURCHASING FROM A DISHONEST PERSON, YOU COULD GET TAKEN!

eBay she scammed me!

Brenda Thornhill aka Richard Bailey purchased one set of Tupperware bowls from me, then requested a second set shipped to her. Brenda was shipped out the second set of Tupperware bowls, but she only paid for the one set (first set). She requested the second set after purchasing the first set from me. She refuses to ship one set back, or pay for the second set. It is considered a crime to accept merchandise and not pay for it. I have 2 tracking numbers showing delivery of both bowl sets. Set one sent via FedEx. Set two sent via the US Postal Service. I am an independent Tupperware Representative. Tupperware Corp. has on file the tracking numbers of both bowl sets as well. FedEx [protected] USPS 9102805213907243624815. Brenda Thornhill sells on EBAY under the name richardb5748. Shop with this person at your own risk! She scammed ME!

eBay unjustly removed from ebay!

On Jan. 7, 2007 I received noticed from eBay that my account dhskansas1 has been suspended for association with another account for which they suspended also. The other account was mamawshouse2, which is my wife's account, but I have nothing to do with. She sold an item the person claimed they never received. On Jan. 7, 2007 this person filed an "Item not received" dispute. eBay immediately removed both accounts. Usually, you have have at least 10 days to replay to a dispute. The dispute was resolve on Jan. 7, 2007 by issuing a full refund.

This is unjustified, arbitrary and an abuse of their power to remove my account, dhskansas1, from selling on eBay. I have 952 (100%) positive feedback and have been a powerseller for over a year and half. Despite numerous emails and telephone calls, my account remains suspended.

Their action and in-action is outrageous and I cannot believe they would treat me like this. eBay has no reason to suspend my account. Something needs to be done about this type of action by eBay. I left my job to sell on eBay and have done a great job at it. This is how I am rewarded, suspended for something that nothing to do with my actions or account.

eBay is the biggest scam ever perpetrated by entrepreneurs. From how eBay operates, I would bet my secret gold mine that they are ran by left wing liberals. No conservative business or entity would declare such war on honest buyers and sellers that eBay has commenced. I was suspended for things I did not do, but they only took away my auction format listings for 14 days, I can still do fixed price, but they cancelled all my store listings! And kept the fees... Someone seriously needs to start up competition for them! Why can't the government go after eBay like they did Microsoft? Microsoft did nothing wrong, they just built a product that everyone standardized on, it was the choice of the consumers. eBay on the otherhand, provides crappy services, and gets away with it because there are no other auction sites of similar size and customer base, so we are stuck.

I agree. Ebay allows sellers to pay shipping for instance $30 dollars for a 9.99 item sent parcel post. The item is sent in its own box or you get hacked then your basically screwed.

eBay the customer service is terrible!

Right before Christmas I purchased a Gliga violin for my wife as a Christmas present. The company sent me the wrong violin and the wrong case. When I call the company I get voice mail and they have not returned my call. The company also will not answer my e-mail.

Dealing with Violinslover out of Pasadena has been a major disappointment. The company is listing new merchandise on E-Bay so I know they are open for business. I have never had such a bad internet purchasing experience before. The violin I received also had numerous scuffs and scratches on the back, I am guessing it was a floor model.

I have been trying to deal with this company for the last two weeks with no luck. During the purchase process several e-mails went back and forth, now nothing is answered! I will have to dispute the purchase through my credit card. I would recommend you avoid this company unless you want a major headache. The customer service is terrible!

eBay michael tautkus is a rip off, internet fraud, stolen identity auctioning ebay items

I found engine I liked on ebay and was listed under advanced engine concepts the site had 40 transactions with 1 neg so looked legitimate had been member for 6 mos and had contact#

I called several times and found the man to know his business as I ask many question. He is big in the drag racing as he was mentioned to be in the nhra finals on the internet.

Michael tautkus - as much a lowlife as you can get and a very good scam artist - his time is coming
Everybody pd with mo to him as I ck back on all the auctions to make sure

Since it seemed to work for everyone else I figured it would for me

I pd by moneygram for the engine, a total of 2740.00 which is a total loss for I never got anything from him I got a message from ebay a few days later and they had pulled the auctions he had placed and said it was a stolen site or 3rd party had took over the auctions.

This is a big loss for me and it would be worth going to try to get my money back but this kind of # usually is not in one spot long

I would appreciate any help I could get and do not think I will ever recup any money but would very much like to see him in the federal pin as this is internet fraud

When I read about how an individual by the name of Michael Tautkus ripped everyone here off, i think it is very sad and i feel for your loss. Unfortunately there are more than one Michael Tautkus and I am an honest hard working software engineer. However the post on the ComplaintsBoard.Com is hurting me because whenever I apply for a job, the first thing that pops up is "Michael Tautkus is a rip off...". Sort of turns any potential employer off. The person you are looking for may be deceased. He died in a freak raceway accident by being struck from a random racing tire that flew over the spectator fence and killed him. So I think he may have got his just deserves for ripping people off. I know you still hurt but have solace in the fact that he received his divine retribution for his crimes. So please, it would be a big favor to me and a small thing for you to remove your [redacted] or modify it to reflect the current status quo and lift the reproach from my name. Please don't classify all persons who have the same name and lump them altogether. Thanks again, ...The other Michael Tautkus.

First of all the last known address for Michael Tautkus (alias?) Is as follows :

4678 SW 101ST Terrace
Augusta, Kansas 67010
And his email is
fordtech@rock.com

Michael Tautkus removed his own registration on EBay so there is no way to leave a warning which is when I knew for sure I had been screwed over y a lower life form.

I file a claim of fraudulence with PayPal and they take 30-days to investigate the clam – I cannot believe I am the only person to pay via PayPal.

The money I lost is pennies compared to the poor slobs on this website who were screwed over by this thief. I hope my efforts help everyone as my next step is to contact the Wichita, Kansas police to file a claim.

I paid via PayPal $875.00 to Michael Tautkus for a fully restored monitor top refrigerator which seemed too good to be true but he wrote that he had just had a baby and needed the money. Plus, his reviews were all positive so I purchased the item!

Two bogus emails from him and no refrigerator after 30-days. I have filed a claim of fraud through PayPal and found a guy on face book, with a daughter, who claims he is in New Hampshire and doe not know what I am talking about.

He is either a victim of identity theft or the lying ### we all want to get our hands on.

The guy in New Hampshire states he lived in Wichita, Kansas which Augusta is a suburb – any thoughts?

If anybody knows how to get ahold of this ###, I'd love to find him. We got screwed on a special build motor a couple years ago on ebay from this crook. We've done reverse traces and tried contacting his many emails and phone numbers and have only been able to contact some of his ex's and mother inlaws who have nothing good to say about him. I would LOVE to prosecute him too. He owes us over $3500.

It looks like the Michael Tautkus that is associated with racing may possibly be this guy. This Michael Tautkus was killed by a runaway tire from a car wreck. His name was Michael T Tautkus, age 49. He was killed on July 26, 1998. There are many Michael Tautkus' that live in the USA. So it would be unwise to pin any one of them as the same guy. It looks to me that apparently there was an ID theft involved as well. So who knows who this guy really is.

eBay rips people off on ebay

On March 23, 2005 I won the bid on a portable dvd player. I sent the payment promptly to Kimberly Adolf. She left positive, glowing feedback for me for the quick payment. She emailed me and said that she would send the dvd player out on early in the week. Then I email her about a week later and ask her when she mailed it and she said Friday... since when is Friday early in the week? I never received the dvd player. She then proceeded to stall by saying she'd ship a new one once her "supplier" shipped her some. Then she said she'd refund me because she didn't know when she was going to get more dvd players. She said she would pay half that weekend and the other half the following weekend.

Needless to say I never received a dime from her. She has made a number of promises and doesn't follow through. She is a liar and a thief. Fortunately, ebay banned her so she can't rip off anyone else. I'm sure she's finding another way to rip people off.

@ justpassinthrough you are apparently the one full of [censor] < The simple fact that he dosn't want to give out the name of the supplier he found proves him to be more honest than you 1. he obvousily is not trying to sell anyone here if he was he would have given the name of the supplier 2. If someone finds a supplier and does not tell you that is a TRADE SECRET [censored] why would he give away the bank [censored]! the guy is just trying to let people know that you can dropship but that it usually takes awhile to find a reputable supplier. So why dont you get over yourself and stop slandering people you dont know because you are hiding behind a keyboard you coward!

You have found some legit dropshippers but dont wanna give awy their trade secrets. HUH? Once again what someone types says more about themselves than it does anyone else. You just told me you are a weasel and a scammer who is full of ###. Trade secrets? the only trade secret that is worth it's weight is HONESTY and INTEGTIRY. The fact that you have a "secret" and rub it into our faces, tells me that yer just another scumbg. One with a small brain and alot of insecurity. Keep your trade "secrets". Honesty and Integrity are no secret...they are "SCARCE" but scarcity is not the same thing as SECRECY. Get over your self.

I would like to point out something that most people do not realize about eBay. 90% or so I estimate, of consumer products that are sold on eBay are usually drop shipped from certain companies who fulfill such orders and contracts on behalf of the seller. This allows the seller to keep costs down, since they do not have to pay to have the item shipped to them, and then pay to reship the item to the buyer themselves. The problem is, a huge number of warehouses and "dropshippers" are dishonest, and are the crooks. I have fallen victim to them myself. It is hard to find a reputable supplier. I have found a few, that ship within 24 business hours, have always stood by their products. The problem is, there are not very many out there, but a seller has to start somewhere.

In the case of your seller, I can say from my own similar experience, that she probably did have a supplier, and the supplier probably was a ripoff outfit. She probably didn't refund your payment because she couldn't get a refund from the so called supplier.

It is possible to sell without carrying inventory, however, you must ensure it is a reputable outfit, who's reputation can be vouched for by either other sellers, members, or most importantly the Better Business Bureau. An honest dropshipping outfit will not generally have "dropship" mentioned anywhere in their web address or company name. DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT, fall for suppliers like Simplx, or ClubDropShip, while they are reputable, they charge high fees for a crappy service. All they do is link you to other sites that you place the same order with as the buyer placed with you. It works, but you make almost no money on something like that, and most items are still priced higher than what everyone else on ebay sells for.

Either carry the product yourself, or if you do find a supplier you want to try out, place a personal order, and time how long the order takes to arrive, how well it was shipped, and if there are any problems, it is probably a bad idea to use them.

I know of some real legit dropshippers, but I do not want to give away trade secrets that I found on accident after hundreds of hours of searching.

For buyers who are really concerned, if an item listed has a stock photo, one that is used in other people's listings as well, it doesn't hurt to ask the seller if this is shipped from a third party. If it is, beware there may be problems. It's not the sellers fault, the seller just needed to get started somewhere, and happened to pick a bad supplier. People really do make money this way on eBay, but it takes LOTS of hard work and research to get set up properly for it.

As an Ebay seller myself, I have to agree with Buyer's complaint. If I do not have inventory in hand, I do not list. A problem with seller's supplier is the seller's problem, not the buyer. Seller seems to have fallen for one of those get rich quick scams that tell people they can sell stuff on Ebay without carrying any inventory.

This is another one on Ebay just like yours, Rebecca Campbell aka oscarsolivia. Her EBAYID history says.
This person's no longer a registered eBay user.
User ID Effective Date End Date
oscarsolivia Jan-26-05 Not a registered user
lolasclothes com Apr-05-04 Jan-26-05
extremecouture Dec-13-02 Apr-05-04
I won the auction being held by oscarsolivia, she even left me glowing feedback for my prompt, fast payment too. I pay immediately after auction and Rebecca said it is now mailed out within 1 day. I wait a week for my merchandise to arrive, then I email her asking when it would be here, she always reply back with friendly emails telling me not to worry, mail is slow, all sort of excuses. Another week goes by and in this time I see her feedback rating take a big drop with all the negatives. Before she make it private, these people made complaints they never received the goods either. Then Rebeccas Ebay site said she was no longer registered. There were no more nice emails, she turned nasty towards me, then never replied again. I never received my goods and I'm sure the other 100 who leave negatives, maybe more never did either. Like the ebayer you have problems with I'm sure this one is finding another way to steal from more people too, she showed no remorse, nothing. This is very unfair. At least Ebay bans these sellers to stop this.

eBay kicked off of ebay for no reason!

I tried to put up for auction some back issues of Penthouse magazine on e-bay, I made sure to look at other auctions of this type to make sure I did everything correctly before I put this magazines up for auction.

About 20 minutes after I placed my auction and it was accepted all heck broke loose. I was barraged with e-mails from e-bay telling me that I violated the safe harbor act and that my auction was terminated and I was suspended from buying or selling on e-bay. I immediately e-mailed e-bay to try and find out what I had did wrong so I could correct it. After about 5 e-mails over a two week period I finally received a response tell me that e-bay was ramping up there fraud detection and that unfortunately some honest members have to go through some extra steps before they can use e-bay, and that they were sorry but they could not reveal what I did wrong. The e-mail went on to say that I would need to file an appeal by fax and provide them a bunch of information and that I would receive a decision within 24 to 72 hours. I figured o.k if this is what I need to do I'll do it. I did this two weeks ago and I hope maybe you have heard from them because I sure haven't, not only that my account is not just suspend it is now non existent. I have placed the same auctions on Amazon, Bid Ville and placed ads on Google base since all this happen and have not had one problem. First off e-bay's customer service is non existent and if it does exist it stinks really bad and second what gives them the right to just do what every they want in what I would consider secret and not even give you the courtesy to tell you what you did wrong and they let you appeal but obviously there appeals process is a real joke as well.

eBay is useless when it comes to your account getting suspended. No emails returned or any help from the customer reps. They just flat out ignore you and expect to be content. After many failed attempts, I gave up and just decided to go stealth.

Hired these people to help me get back on: www.auctionessistance.com/shop

eBay is as corrupt as the government. You can have a squeaky clean record, yet they will ban you out of nowhere. eBay put my business at risked and almost made me have to sell my home. No support whatsoever in getting my account reinstated, so I had to contact Auction Essistance to help me get back on eBay with a new account.

I just got kicked off as well. No warning, no way to make things better, just permanently suspended. I've been buying/selling for 14 years but have been very sick with Lyme disease and mailed a couple things late. No warning that if I mail another thing late then I will be suspended. Nothing. Completely shocked.

eBay i've never experienced such ineptitude with ebayers!

Today is day 50 since originally paying for a Panasonic Phone Package (3 handsets and a base station) on October 5th 2006 on ebay for $129US including shipping. Here is how they do (or don't do business). Still haven't rec'd my refund...

October 5th: Received an email with the UPS shipping information and tracking link on October 10th (I had requested Express Saver Shipping).

October 16th 2:06PM: My Email to them "Hi - Paid for this auction on October 5th - was sent the UPS tracking link (upgraded to UPS Express Saver) on the 10th (below) - still not showing that this has been shipped, only that billing information has been rec'd. Please advise of the status of my order. Thanks, Mark"

October 17th 9:41AM: Their reply "i will contact UPS"

October 18th: I called and spoke with a CSR - said they would look into it and get back to me"

October 19th 3:48 PM: My Email to them "Still waiting...called yesterday afternoon, and still haven't heard anything. You have a dozen of these up for auction, pull one off an ship it. Mark"

October 20th 12:46PM: My Email "And waiting...the person I spoke with said they would call me back. If I don't receive an answer today, I would like a full refund"

October 21st - 11:30PM: Called Modcom - spoke with Bala - who claimed that the order was closed, reflecting that it shipped. I explained my case as above, and he said he'd look into it - I called back and said it was a problem with UPS and he needed to talk with them - said in the 7 years he's done business its never happened.

October 23rd - Email from Bala at Modcom: - I have opened the case with UPS

October 26th - My Email to Modcom: "Hi Bala - you emailed me back late Monday to say you've opened the case with UPS - have you heard anything? I got rid of my old 2.4GHZ phones, and I don't have any others - so you must understand that my patience growing very thin. It has been 3 weeks for a UPS express delivery.

Please let me know what is going on, and what the expected resolution will be. Thank you, Mark"

October 26th - Email from Bala at Modcom: "I just talked to UPS and it might take longer for the investigation. I am not sure what to do. How is this? you pay for one more and we will ship it to you, if they find the first one we will take it back or if it's lost they will pay us and we can refund you. is that ok? I am trying my best to help you here. Thanks. Bala"

October 26th - My email to Modcom "Sounds good - will let you know when I purchase it so you can reference it. Thanks for your attention to this matter. Cheers, Mark"

October 31st - My email to Modcom "Hi Bala,
Got the replacement phones - thanks for the speedy ship. What is the turnaround time for UPS to determine its lost and issue a refund for the other item. When you get a chance - Thanks, Mark"

November 1st - Email from Bala "Mark, i have contatc ed UPS and they hve to send me some paperwokr for me to fill out. "

November 10th - My email to Bala "Hi Bala - Can I please get an update on the status of my refund for order 20072. Thanks, Mark"

November 14th - My email to Bala "Bala - I think I've been patient enough, don't you? I purchased this on October 5th, I complied and bought another unit off of you - and I have been the one that has needed to follow up, you ignore my emails - and I still don't have a refund in my hands. UPS has sent you the paperwork - so they will be refunding you, I shouldn't be part of this equation as its between them and you. I NO LONGER CARE WHAT PROBLEM YOU HAVE OR ARE HAVING WITH UPS. I WANT MY REFUND NOW! If I get it today I will NOT (although it kills me) leave NEGATIVE feedback.

Refund should be for $129.11 USD to Paypal. Some response please. Mark"

November 14th: Email from Modcom CSR: "Mark i will pass this maeesage on to bala, and ask him to contact you regarding the refund"

I opened the case with Paypal on the 14th - posted six other messages trying to resolve the matter - and now have filed a formal claim with them.

Basically look at the Negative ratings this guy has - I rolled the dice, and clearly lost. Bala I hope this hurts your business (if you can call it that). Worth the $5 to post this - A real ASSet to Ebay. I've never experienced such ineptitude with Ebayers.

eBay scam and dishonesty!

Hi, I wonder if you can help or investigate

Here is a complaint I have about eBay fees

1) not so bad When you list an item at a price within a higher fee bracket and then decide to reduce the price (which falls in the lower fee bracket) eBay keeps the higher fee.

However, if you list and item at a lower fee threshold and decide to raise the price to a higher one, the additional fee is automatically charged. No fee reduction applies if you decided to lower the price.

2) Very dishonest

If you list an item on any auction format, and some one has bid on it a final value is automatically debited to your account immediately So if you have sold a gold watch for £1100 the fees will be as such

listing fee £2.00
final value fee £28.85

So far, so good.
However if the winning bid was unauthorized. ie stolen etc and requiring eBay investigation
eBay automatically cancels the transaction and credit the account with the listing fee only of £2.00
and keeps the £28.85. eBay will notify you of the cancellation and pending investigation, and the credit of £2.00 BUT conveniently forgets about £28.85 final value fee.

So with increase unauthorized bids, eBay can make a lot of money from illegal bidders, at the expense of sellers

If you investigate this you will find that this is a nasty fact... Should be made illegal for eBay to rob people blind!

Regards,
Mike

absolutely shocking in a middle of a recession where people will sell loads to generate cash ebay are cashing in with 10% final value fee's. the only reason they are getting away with it and people still selling is cause they need the cash. scandalous now !

Well, ok, the 10% fee is one thing, then the paypal fee, which ebay own by the way, but my major problem is the alienation they have caused all foreign bidders, the free p&p is allowing sellers to include the cost of shipping in the starting price, or free p&p is offered, yet I, living in Ireland am now forced to compete as a bidder with people who only pay what the auction ends at, if I win, the seller generally sends an invoice with a shipping cost included, a full shipping cost to include extras of course, usually about £4 for an item that cost say £1.80 to send to me, so there you have it...

Anyway, world recession, massive unemployment... i still wouldn't use ebay to sell on, not worth it as the profit margin on the item you sell has to be at least 20%, as the majority of that goes on fees... great business strategy by ebay there, I wish they were running my company, though I would not want people knowing who I am, people generally don;t like to be robbed in broad daylight

Hi I'm glad I'm not the only one angry at Ebay Fees - 10% final value fee are ebay having a joke!
I wrote a letter of complaint only to get a standard email back. Which i replied to - the to get the excate same STANDARD email again...customer service I THINK NOT.

I sold some tickets I did not need on ebay - thought i'd get something back on them until ebay charged me 10% fee and I;ve not lost £55 on the tickts because of this fee.

EBAY ARE GREEDY MONEY GRABBERS...

eBay ridiculous system of feedback

Ebay uses this ridiculous system of feedback to see how "honest" a dealer is...the more positive feedback the better. This allows people to build up their feedback very easily. The honest people who get lousy goods and complain get bad feedback and if it happens more than 3 times, you are out- no explanations accepted. I am a Rolex Dealer. I bid and won 3 watches. One was a fake for $880.00, one was a 1993 submariner, in terrible shape for $2950.00, and the other was a tudor prince which had a new case, an aftermodel band and a 1963 movement for$1200.00. Needless to say, all of these watches were misrepresented'...so I returned them all. I was suspended due to "nonpayment of goods" Would you pay for these watches?

eBay lack of customer service!

Here's a copy of the letter I sent to e-bay on 10/4/06 almost a month ago with no response from ebay as of today. I contacted their customer service telephone number and was told that they are not able to service this type of compliant. When I asked to speak with someone who could, I was told that customers could not speak with this department and that they could only communicate with them via email - which obviously hasn't worked for the past month. Also, I am not going to purchase this item from this seller for obvious reasons and do not want to be forced to do so. Also, I wish to permantly close my account with e-bay. I also have friends who wish to do the same who now refuse to buy or sell on ebay due to my experience with their "lack of customer service".

Plus, after emailing e-bay immediately after things started to turn downward in working this out with the seller and not receiving a response from e-bay, they allowed the seller to post negative messages against my profile. This "bans" me from making any future purchases on e-bay until I pay these outrategeous shipping charge of $30 to a rude and nasty seller for a $6 item. I bidded on an item and was the highest bidder, but following my email to E-bay, was banned from purchasing it due to this issue.

To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing this letter in reference to my most recent purchase. I am writing due to the shipping costs that a seller is trying to charge me. These costs were not disclosed prior to purchasing the item. I wrote to the seller, and asked what method of shiiping was being used to justify such an expensive shipping cost.

The sellers response was that "Hi dear buyer! This boots cost $80.00, you got just for $6.00 .That why shipping cost extra money ,24.99 just for canada" and "i live in canada ,i need to pay for border ,and somebody working for me ,i have to pay for him too.thats why its cost me" and finally stated "it is not your business ,you do not have to know who helps me ship and how much i pay for handling.it is my problem wich way i will ship it."

As a consumer, I do have the right to ask the method that an item is being shipped since I am paying $25 to ship a pair of light weight boots that everyone else on your site is charging $10 for shipping. At this point in time, I still do not know if these boots are being shipped by UPS or FedEx, overnight or standard shipping.

I feel that this seller's attitude is unprofessional and beligerent. I no longer wish to purchase this item from the seller due to the comments I quoted above that were written to me from the seller. As a consumer, I do not deserve to be treated like this by anyone, let alone someone who I am purchasing something from. I would not accept this type of customer service from a merchant on a face to face transaction and I refuse to accept it on an on-line transaction as well.

I have purchased many items from E-bay without difficulty from a seller or E-bay and I am pleased with the quality of service I have received in the past. I hope that you can resolve this issue so that I can comfortable continue to be an E-bay customer. Thank you in advance for your time and anticipated cooperation in this matter.

Sincerely,
Tonya Domenico

I paid for an ebay Ad in cars & trucks for a 2004 Corvette and can't find my ad. I looked through 17 pages in cars & trucks, no ad. My item number is [protected].

The ad appeared briefly and then disappeared.

My current ad is paid for through August and I have scheduled a repeat if it does not sell for September.

Ebay is not like before. They have gotten worse! Lack of help and confidence for sellers. They do not protect sellers and give false informations. You get transferred to numerous departments but nothing ever gets resolved. I'm no longer wanting to sell on ebay. I don't want to support a company that scams or lie to you.
