Our kitchenAid oven died when we used the self cleaning function in August this year. The control panel bubbled, the oven smoked and then stopped working and the glass door was locked. Based on the age of the oven we opted to replace as it had been repaired twice in the 5 years that we have owned it. The replacement double wall oven that we received has already had to have parts replaced and has not worked correctly since install. We purchased the item directly from kitchenaid online on the 12th of August. The item was delivered and installed on the 16th of August. The panel lit up and showed it was operational when the technician left. However when the oven wasn't cooking correctly in September we tested the internal temp and saw that the oven was off by 90 degrees. We called customer service and they walked us through the calibration of the new unit in October. It still was off by 40 degrees. They called out for a technician to come to the home and service the unit in November. The technician came out on the 21st. Parts had to be ordered to replace the control panel and main sensor. The replacement was supposed to take place on the 13th of December but the technician never arrived. I called to get a status. They stated that the part received was damaged and would need to come at a later date. We would not have bought a replacement if we were aware that the previous oven had a known issue with the self cleaning function. We would have purchased from a different company. The warranty details from the manufacturer are pretty clear that they will not refund. They will only replace under specific conditions. They will drag out the repairs until the 1-year manufacturer warranty runs out and then we are no longer their problem...Unless we buy the extended warranty, which we did...
Claimed loss: $4399.31
Desired outcome: Full refund
