Optima provides a Medicare advantage plan that is supposed to provide certain services. One of those services is dental insurance. When it was time for a cleaning, I contacted Denta Quest. The referred me to Aspen Dental, who told me that they did not accept Denta Quest after I showed up for an appointment. I then visited several other dentist on the list of dentist who supposedly take they insurance and was told by each that they did not. One even told me that they used to but dropped DentaQuest because they were not getting paid.
I reached out to the Optima Advantage Plan. They did not respond appropriately. What they did was contact DentaQuest who sent me the same list of dentist that do not take their insurance. Optima did not care that the dental care that is sold as part of their policy is worthless.
Claimed loss: $250
Desired outcome: Optima drop DentaQuest as it dental provider and find a real company to provide dental coverage.
