I am writing this letter to express my extreme dissatisfaction and disappointment with the recent purchase of a Cub Cadet mower, model #17AIEACL010, from your Ankney IA store on April 13, 2023. I have encountered several issues with the product, as well as inadequate customer service, which has led to significant inconvenience and frustration.
Firstly, I chose to purchase the mower from Home Depot specifically due to the advertised 10% discount for veterans. As a proud veteran, this offer appealed to me, and I believed that Home Depot would provide excellent service. However, I have since realized that this was not the case.
After using the mower a mere four times, on the fourth occasion, I experienced a violent banging noise emanating from the engine while mowing, Upon returning the mower to my garage, I discovered oil leaking from an unidentified source.
In hopes of resolving these issues, I promptly reached out to the Home Depot customer service team. Regrettably, I was informed that I had exceeded the 30-day return policy by a mere four days and that Home Depot could not assist me further. This response left me feeling neglected and unsupported as a valued customer.
Consequently, I took the initiative to have the mower examined at Farver True Value, Newton IA, the authorized Cub Cadet service center. However, to my dismay, my mower has been sitting outside their facility for the past two weeks, with no progress made in resolving the issue. I was even informed that it could take up to two months before the problem is fully addressed.
I must emphasize that my intention is not to have the motor repaired or replaced. I purchased this Cub Cadet mower for close to $4000.00 with the expectation of receiving a fully functional, reliable product. It is clear that the mower I received is defective, and I believe it is only fair that I be provided with a brand new mower that meets the expected standards of performance and quality.
The lack of prompt and efficient resolution, coupled with the inadequate service I have experienced, has made this entire purchasing experience incredibly frustrating and disappointing. As a loyal customer who expected superior service from Home Depot, I sincerely hope that you will take immediate action to rectify this matter.
I kindly request that you provide me with a replacement Cub Cadet mower, model #17AIEACL010, which functions properly and meets the expected standards. Additionally, I urge you to review your customer service policies, as they have left me feeling unsupported and neglected during this entire ordeal.
I expect a swift response and a satisfactory resolution to this matter. Should my concerns not be addressed in a timely and appropriate manner, I will have no choice but to escalate this issue to higher levels of authority and explore other available options to protect my consumer rights.
