On Saturday, 2/18/23 at 2:12 pm, I went through the drive-through at the North Augusta, SC location, store #8858. The lady at the window (Employee OT) took my payment and then said, "drive forward and we'll bring it out to you." What she didn't realize was that during the time that I was waiting behind a car at the window, I got a call from a hospice patient, as I am the on-call RN over the weekend. When she asked me to pull forward and wait, I wasn't sure whether or not I needed to cancel the order and go attend to the patient, or if I would have enough time to wait. I asked her, "oh, how long do you think the mozzarella sticks will take?" She immediately began speaking loudly and extremely unprofessionally and said, "the way I run my restaurant is to keep people moving! If you expect me to hand-make your sandwich, then I have to have time to do it! Thank you very much!" As she slammed the window shut, I overheard another employee tell her, "my god, you were nasty to her!" to which she replied, "well, she was nasty to me first!" I spoke at the window with the manager on duty, but the same lady came out to "the line" and handed me my food. She first said, "be careful, these are hot." (They were actually lukewarm) Then she started with the same line over again about how she runs "her" restaurant, just as unprofessionally. First, the "line" she expected people to pull up to could accommodate only one car at a time. Second, I'm not sure she realizes the harshness of her tone and the way in which she speaks. I don't believe this person should be allowed anywhere near others providing customer service, as she was quite hostile.
Desired outcome: There needs to be disciplinary action taken, and possibly retraining. In my opinion, this lady does not deserve to represent any restaurant, especially one as popular as Arby's, when she can apparently get away with this type of behavior.
