I have a property which rents 41 hot water tanks. I tried to place a call to Enercare regarding what I felt was a failing hot water tank. 1st call 30 minutes and was hung up on while waiting to book apt. 2nd call 30 minutes to set an appointment but... we will call you back in 4 hrs because the system is down.
The room with the hot water tank in it has a smell. We have had different furnace technicians in to look at the furnace and nothing has been noted with the furnace. This included testing for emissions. So next thing to look at would be the hot water tank. According to Enercare they will not send a technician for smell or general concerns. It has to be "no hot water" or "noise".
Enercare advised me to call 911 in case its a gas leak. Now this smell has been there for over a year. Other technicians tested the room gas emissions and nothing was noted. If it is a gas leak the tank would be turned off by 911 and I would have to call Enercare any way. They still will not book an appointment to look at tank unless the tank is tagged.
They also mentioned extra costs when coming out to look at the tank. What extra costs could there possibly be? Does rental equipment not come with the benefit of not having to do costly repairs?
Can't wait to see if they actually return calls and how long it takes to get service. In short I would never recommend there services.
