I am writing to let you know that NCO Financial has been calling my house and asking for someone that does not live here and we have never heard of the person they are looking for. How do I file a complaint and possiable harassment charges on this company? We have told them over and over again they have the wrong number. This had happened several months ago and it stopped for a few months but has started back up this week.
Today, at 8:13 am NCO left a voice message on my phone, said they were attempting to collect a bad debt. The NCO caller gave me a reference number & instructed me to [protected], repeating the phone number twice. I'm not aware of any unpaid bills, nor have I received written notice of such.
When I searched the 800 number numerous NCO complaint sites appeared. I have not yet spoke to anyone from NCO, based on what I have read, I want to be prepared when they call again.
Complaints date as far back as 2002 - why are they still in business?
I am looking for advise from anyone who has been victimized by NCO.

Every few days I get a call from [protected]. They are looking for some "Jennifer" -- I have no clue who that person is! This is a call from NCO Financial, trying to talk to "Jennifer" to collect money. I am wondering how I can stop them from harassing me!

I, too, have been receiving phone calls from these people at NCO Financial in regard to people I have never heard of and they just don't seem to get it! I have told them repeatedly, they have the wrong number and to remove this phone number from their list but this has been to no avail.
This morning, I received an automated phone call from them and actually wrote their phone number down to call and speak to someone about removing my number. I called and no one ever answered as I was placed on eternal hold. This was so frustrating to me that I finally got on the web and looked up their corporate office number. I was transferred around to four different people. Not only was I treated with undue disrespect, but am still unsure whether or not they removed my phone number!
The next stop will definitely be the Attorney General in PA. Does anyone out there have any idea who oversees the law in regard to collection agencies and could help eliminate future problems like these for all involved?

A supervisor from NCO Financial had the audacity to tell me that I must have ridden on the back of the bus. What kind of comment is this? -Black Man.
I think that NCO needs to be shutdown for harrassment and giving invalid, false information. They are not even worthy of being in this country. Congress has SCREWED UP BIG TIME!
I agree with the problem of harrasment. The company in question seems to give everyone a hard time. I just got the same calls from this company twice already. I know i don't owe anything and my credit is up to date. I think this company should be sued and taught a lesson of humility. The law is on everyones side. I suggest it would be a good idea to use it. You can go to the nationals do not call list and have your number put on this list. If any company continues to call you like this one then you can sue them. If at any time they continue to call they call be repeatedly sued for additional amount. This company to me sounds like a fraudulent company. I looked up their website online and they don't have much on this site. The address below is what i got from this site. I think the other way is just avoid them as much as possible. They are rude and they think they can get away with it. If you can't, then be rude back to them. Tell them what jerks they are. Hopefully, they will get the message.

I agree - these guys are so rude and do not want to negotiate with you. I owed some money on a credit card and what they want me to pay ($600/mo) and what I told them I could afford ($250) is the problem. They even haraased me and said "well why did you charge it in the first place. I was unemployed for 6 months!
They made me feel so angry and insignificant - I wonder if they would be so cocky if the meeting was face to face and not over the phone. The guy in question is their Mr. Kaz - he is callous, rude and very cocky. it's obvious he has not lived in the real word yet. I say to them - treat others as you would yourselves.
I own all the CEO's domain names. I am waging all out internet war against them. I might Might how an auction to sell or rent Michaelbarrist.com. They stepped on the wrong person this time. I PWNED THEM.
I have now received about 20 phone calls/voice mail messages on my cell phone from this company. Even if I answer the call live, all I get is that recorded message. Call back and get the old "recording for quality" message then hold.
There are supposed to be limits on who can get your cell phone number and harrassing phone calls. I'm going to find out how to get this stopped once and for all.
Getting calls from these people several times per week, on a $5000 debt from Genesis Financial. Pulled all of my credit reports from the agencies, and found no bad debt flags, my credit score is 800. So what's wrong here ?
I called an NCO number that I was instructed to call, trying to reach "Jay" about my student loan but reached someone else trying to collect on a Sprint bill. When I told him I didn't want to make a payment on my Sprint bill, he wouldn't help me contact the other Dept. He told me to call coporate.
I am so fed up with NCO. I have let it go on too long, Now I am mad.
They have been calling me twice a day for almost a year now on my cell phone.
I have tried to reach them at the number given me, they never answer. I get messages from someone names Joy looking for someone named Jacob, NOT stating that they are NCO. The first time this happened I thought, poor thing will never know they didnt reach this person, so to be nice I called back and realized it was NCO!
Today I called and finally got through, explained the situation told the girl the problem, she was very short with me, so I advised her that I was going to send a cease and desist letter. She said is that necessary? I said, well yes unfortunately, you know what I got back? = SHUT UP! I'M HANGING UP ON YOU! and she slammed the phone down!
I then phoned back and got another obviously asian girl, who proceeded to tell me that my number was not even in the system! I told her that was ridiculous as I'm recieving two calls a day, but she still insisted. THIS IS NOT EVEN MY DEBT! They are looking for someone else!
I sent today a cease and desist letter, I emailed the attorny general in PA as well as the A.G. in Louisiana where I reside, my state senators, filed a complaint with the FCC and FTC and I'm not finished.
The same senerio with calls is happening to us, but I have taken a different approch.
Using the number posted earlier, [protected], I called and asked to talk to Mr. Barrist and got connected to the executive offices. I asked asked for Mr. Barrist and was told he was off this week. Asked what I was calling for I told them a personal business matter. I asked what extension it was so when I called back I could dial the extension and was told it was extension 3581.
So now every time they call, I call that number and extension and whoever picks up I discuss the situtation. They are not happy and tell me that they will look into it. I have now call several times (every time I get a call from them) and they are not happy and tell me I am wasting my time and theirs.
I figure if enough people do the same thing they might see what we go through.

I get calls from NCO almost daily during the week. I do have some outstanding debt, but I know where it is and with whom... I have no idea what NCO thinks I owe them. I try to call back and get no answer, and I haven't received anything in the mail from them.
I'm fresh out of highschool and have NO CREDIT CARD whatsoever and I am constantly getting calls from this saying
"this is a debt collection company"...blah blah blah.
and I'm thinking? I owe money? for what? Someone tell me how is it possible that I am in debt when I have no credit card?

Just go to Facebook and look at the 500 or so people who actually admit they work there. Most of them look like a bunch of skanks or thugs. They obviously couldn't get a job anywhere else!
Nco financial calls me a couple times a day, what I do is press record a message on my answering machine, but say nothing let it run like that for a couple minutes or so with out saying anything. You will waste there time on the computer generated call. If everybody does this, maybe it will screw them up?
I know this post is quite old, but for any body searching for info..You can send a cease and desist to their address.Mention clearly that you are NOT the person they are asking for.Also, mention that you have contacted your state attorney general and any contact further made should be via them, and all their calls will be recorded by you in claim of harassment.This would put an end to it.

I asked to have a way to pay my loans online and the customer service rep said that they did not have a way to pay online. I then asked for an address so that I could send a money order and the rep said that he did not or could not give that information out. I got angry and he told me that I needed to stop yelling at him or he was going to end the call. I refused to let him terminate the call and he told me that I needed to stop raising my voice and I said all I want to do is work with them and get this off my chest and out of my hair. He proceeded to tell me what I needed to do and I told him that he does not have the right to tell me what I needed to do. He said that he was going to get his supervisor on the phone to help me and I said do what you got to do. His supervisor got on the phone and I told him what I needed and he advised me not to make my payments via money order because they could get lost in the mail. I did set up payment arrangements but only to satisfy the supervisor. I did not get the address to where I could send in my payments. So I am very pissed that the customer service rep and the supervisor would not ablige me and give me that information.
