I was an Invited PAID agent to attend PROSCOUT. We get paid $200 plus hotel, airfare and meals.

All the agents show up for a fun time out of town. The LA agents represent NO celebs are basically in the business of attending showcases not selling actors.

Ask any one of them who they represent and for sure you will know none of them. The organization is scam.

they are in and out taking your 800$ +

I suggest you get a list BEFORE you agree to attend of EXACTLY who will be at the event. You for sure will not get it.

Check out what agents from LA are attending.

The modeling agents are all their to support their own scam. Selling pictures room and board etc...

Some of the PS agents walk away with $1000 to $1500 from fees for speaking and holding pointless seminars.

The acting coach even uses a fake name.

PS is for sure a scam. Do not be fooled.

After the event that scam is out of that town within hours.

Please what agent is going to travel to be paid only $200.00, please stop lying. I attended the event in Orlando, my daughter had 2 call backs, she met with the agents after the event, they suggested she was too short, but gave us email addresses and took her photos... granted, nothing became of it - I truely believe my daughters hieght was the element. I met others at the event who have attended proscout on and on.. they have had success and jobs - the agents are real - they will call you if you have what they are looking for.

The reality is many go home with out call backs - why - because they are just not model material - I saw some of the people at the event, some beautiful - some I have no idea why they were there...

Overall, I DO NOT THINK ITS A FRAUD, I met and have spoken with people who had call backs that were called back from NY agencies to meet with them.. YES my daughter did have 2 call backs - and YES, nothing became of them - we are going back again this summer - there is no reason why note, its a great event filled with great people who have everything in common.

If there is one thing to remember in modeling it's this: If they are asking you to pay ANY money, it's basically a scam.

I learned this the hard way when I was younger and went to a pro-scout- like event. Basically you should never have to go through a middle man such as proscout to get signed. They will make you pay usually very large sums of money before truly giving you a chance to meet with agents.

The top modeling agencies (Ford, Elite, IMG..) don't need people like proscout to help them find clients! They are doing more than fine on their own.

In modeling if it sounds way to ggod to be true then it probably is. The only way to do it in my opinion is to go directly to the agencies..find out when their open calls are and go! It's free!

I agree, you don't have to pay to meet any of these people and proscout will tell you to leave if you feel you can meet them on your own. But you will have to travel to NYC, LA and FL to meet these agents and HOPE they will even glance at you...

You are paying to be in the same place as the agents and for them to consider you for the agency - TRUST me, I know several girls/guys that got jobs from attending these proscout events..

I do think there is a percentage of people they may need at each event...that may explain the people that I FELT, should not be there, because there were some that did not look like model material at all.. some on the other hand, were beautiful - THOSE did get call backs.. its pretty cut throat and black and white..

My daughter attended 2 times in Seattle. She received no callbacks either time--at least not at the invitationals. I'll get back in a minute.
First, Pro Scout is *NOT* a "talent agency", they are *TALENT SCOUTS" that know what these agencies at the invitationals "may be" looking for at that time. The agents we met at the interviews were prior models (or still working, the agent we talked to a lot was signed with FORD, one of the *best known* and prestigious modeling agencies **in the WORLD**! He had been *discovered* by Ford at a Pro Scout invitational)
The agents at these invitationals are not always the same. And they are looking for something different almost every single time.
If u read the FAQ'S on the paperwork and handouts when u were interviewed and chosen, u would know everything I have said so far. Also on the FAQ'S it tells u why the charge is imposed. It is to cover the costs to bring all of these agencies to the invitational (IP's-industry professionals) and for you to see all of them at ONE TIME. The price is nothing if u tried to do this on ur own. Most agencies don't accept unsolicited material, so if u mailed ur headshots to them--they either throw it away without looking at it, or return to u! The cost is justified,

Ok. So my daughter received no call backs. But, I feel she got better---we received a call at home from Chambers Stevens--inviting her to be his student, ! Chambers was the judge for the monologue audtions both times we went--and she was giving callbacks for 2nd day auditions in front of the IP's.
If u do your homework and look into Chambers, u will not only find out that not only is he one of the **BIGGEST** childrens acting coaches in Hollywood, but u would also find out he is an Emmy nominated actor, an award winning playwright, and an award winning writer for his Hollywood 101 series, "Monologues for..." children to teens.to young adults.
Chambers picks his students, you don't apply and automatically become his student. With working with Chambers through the last year we are preparing to get her Ca work permit this summer, and moving to Hollywood next summer to facilitate auditioning and hopefully working, more easily.
ProScout facilitated my daughter meeting Chambers, something that probably wouldn't have happened without ProScout,
I see no scam involved AT ALL, , !

Pro Scout is most defiantly a scam I am a legitimate actor signed by a legitimate agency and it is IMPOSSIBLE to get signed by either a acting or modeling agency with out sending in a resume, head shot, or zed card. Legitimate acting agency's wont waste their time looking at someone with out knowing if they have experience, if they are marketable, even talented. Agency's are looking for people who are dedicated and have self initiative to take acting classes. No one becomes a celebrity overnight it takes time. Sorry but Pro Scout is a SCAM. If you doubt me research what it takes to become an actor they're are no short cuts. Unless you know someone in the industry Pro Scout is not the way to go.

Hey Romeo - get your facts straight the people at proscout have them audition and bring headshots in... of course they don't just look at them and sign them! They actually have to come prepared with a monologue and you have to have a head and full body shot to show them...duh..

Janet my facts are straight i attended the interview in brownsville tx and they didn't ask for a head shot or resume. Go to their website proscout.com it says there no pictures or classes needed.

Romeo...u are correct. They *Dont* ask for your headshots/full body shots at the INTERVIEW. IF you are selected you need to bring both and a prepared monologue (if you wish to audition) you bring them to the *INVITATIONAL*! Obviously, you were not selected so you did not find this info out. And what you are reading on the PS website is about the *interview* portion.
So, your facts are **NOT** straight. Janet was correct, not you. Sorry you weren't selected. Think Chambers would have given you a callback? Hmm...

Having an agent isn't guaranteed of becoming anything either. And the callback I was referring to was from Chambers at the actual invitational. Read carefully before commenting.

Chambers is not at the interviews because that is only the selection portion of the process. If you have never been to an actual *invitational* (da**, is there an echo in here or am I *repeating myself*, YET AGAIN!?) then you shouldn't knock it. Tell us your real name Romeo, let's see how well your *legitimate agent* is doing for you! Or at least a little resume rundown for us?

Romeo, no one made it broke... there is a price for everything, you need money to persue theses types of careers unless you are one of the lucky ones they find in a mall or you have connections..

I'm telling you.. I KNOW PLEANTY of people who went to orlando and got jobs... I'm going in August to New Orleans.. I will let you know how it goes..

Exactly right Janet! And good luck to ya! Get that monologue ready for Chambers (if your going for acting as well). Actually though, I think Chambers only attends the West Coast Invitationals, and I've never heard who else does the auditioning besides him.
Good luck! (•=

Yes, I met him once, my daughter was not prepared for the monologue last time, she wasnt too into the acting, but since the last invitation she stared some acting classes - as s summer camp, she loves them - also some barbizon classes, they are both great and teach you lots of things.. she is going to try again next month for model and acting.. it will be the last time for a while because I don't expect proscout to come back to the panhandle for about a year after this...

Well, good luck to her! We are going down to Hollywood on the 1st for her work with him personally again for awhile. Can't wait til we can move down next summer, and she's super excited as well.
If she's prepared and if he sees any inkling of prospect, then she'll get her callback for the IP's. (•=

Sure proscout is a great weekend if you want to piss money away with nothing to show for it. I am not an angry parent whose child did not get a callback. My son did get a callback, met a talent scout who said he was eager to meet my son in new york, wanted him to send photos and a resume, all to no avail. This man never returned one email or letter. Sure Bridger Zadina talked to my son and wanted him to attend chambers bootcamp in California, which may have just been another letdown. In any event save yourself a lot of heartache and letdowns and go to disney.

Well model hopefuls, I wish you all the best. I have twin daughters and have been invited two separate times to ProScout events in Dallas. We actually went to one...Bogus! Sorry guys it's all about the money. My girls received 4 callbacks from the "agents" who were all extremely far from where we live and of course required more money for pictures. Lot's of money.
Please understand, my girls are highly marketable and I already knew this. They are identical twins with the "look" for print and commercial ads. Long story short, I choose not to break the bank. It didn't feel right. Instead I used the Internet to locate modeling agencies. All that is required is a head shot and a full body shot, nothing fancy. This is the way to go, my girls are 12 and have been working consistently for 3 years doing catalogs and GAP/Old Navy ads and commercials. If we wanted to relocate they could break into Tv(MOM IS NOT READY FOR THAT) Finally, the only out of pocket money we've spent is travel and food. The agency paid for the photo for the portfolio, and that my friend is the way it works.

It is too bad people get so psyched up at the first proscout event, where models and actors, actresses are shown on film that have made it big with proscout, ( supposedly). The loud get jiggy with it music they play, the idea that if you are holding the lucky card, you are indeed talented and you were picked because you have something to offer, please. I knew it was bogus going into it, but my son won and I wanted him to be happy because he was SO excited. Other children were smiling, so happy to be chosen to go to the proscout event in Boston. Parents who had big dreams of their child becoming a model or actor/actress had the same excited look. I also remember vividly the kids who did not get a callback, girls crying in the lobby. Getting a callback does not guarantee a thing people please remember this when and if your child gets a callback. I remember Bridger Zadina being a guest in boston mass this spring, and talking about his part in Law and Order, and the Disney Channel. Let me also tell you this, he told my son he really did not get his start at proscout, he got it at an acting camp in L.A. Even an acting camp will not guarantee a thing, and look how many children go into it coming out with no more than they started with. I believe commmunity theatre, college, is the way for my son to decide if this is what he really wants, not dishing out money time and time again. He still asks me why the talent agent has not written him back, considering he supposedly wanted to meet with my son in New york in the first place. People want things so badly and are easily deceived, I could see it in the parents faces and childrens, think twice before sinking money into proscout!

okay, listen everyone!

Proscout may be a scam to you, but signing with L.A Models was the the best thing that has ever happen to me, and i thank Proscout for it. People are just mad because they see $ 800 and right away your like its a scam. okay people cant expect everything to be FREE FREE FREE. it doesn't work like that, these are top agencies all across the world who come & find talent. of course your gonna pay a fee. so stop acting like everything is free and that modeling is just gonna come to you, or acting. Because its not, your gonna have to do some stuff or pay some money to at least put your foot in the door. So yeah, and yes $800 dollars is a lot, but i GUARANTEE ITS SOOO WORTH IT. It gave me a contract with L.A models, and its because of Proscouts. So quit with the acting like you know what it is, because you obviously dont.

Come on now, my son got a callback, it isn't like I expected anything to be free, I just expected some honestly from the agents part. In no shape or form did we expect anything to be free, but, when told he was wanted in New York and to contact the agent because he wanted to meet my son again, to not get a reply to any emails or letters, photos sent, is dead wrong. Sure agents will tell you they want you and want to meet with you and see more, but do not expect a damn thing to come out of it in the end, because it might not happen.

Hey centralmaine---yes, Bridger Zadina is a good friend of my daughter. We met him last summer at the boot camp you said he mentioned. Again. People. One name--Chambers Stevens. Bridger came to help out last year when we were there. He MET Chambers at ProScout so in a sense he really did get his start at ProScout. He's a sweet kid and a good actor, we hope he's free to join them again this year. Honestly, these people who say that ProScout is to blame when an agent doesn't call back--thats the agencies lack of responsibility not PS. And they could have decided that your kid wasn't what they were looking for after all.
I can tell you Chambers acting camp is no letdown. His wife is one of the producers for Disney. Lots of exposure
And $800 is nothing compared to what you would have to pay if you were trying to do this on your own.

Don't know about the people who didn't get a callback, am talking about my son who did, and the whole time talking with a talent scout, was led to believe he wanted him to come to New York and meet him this summer. Promises, promises. IF the agency thought my son was not what he was looking for after all, he would not have handed me his card, told my son, I want to see you in New York this summer, and spieled off a bunch of bologna. Proscout may not be responsible for the agents actions, but they should scan the agents better to see IF they are indeed legitimate, which this one WAS NOT.

I so agree with a couple of you that is sticking up for proscouts. Alot of people is getting it twisted and must been so excited with they got pick that they was not paying attention when the scout was explaining what the money is for. Erik was the scout who selected my daughter and before he went into details he said how much the cost was if it was a scam there would have been hidden cost he told us up front how much it was and if you was still interested thats how much you would have to pay. My daughter has been invited to attend the New Orleans event and I am going regardless of what anyone has to say. If you thought it was a scam why would you pay and if you went because you didnt get pick you wanna say its a scam. The 795 is for you to be in front of some of the top agencies in the world. ProScout has to pay the hotel pay for the rooms and the agents to come down to see the people that they feel may be good enough to sign. They dont get any money. Erik told us if any of these agents ask us for money then something is not right. ProScout is NOT AN AGENCY! On there website I see Nate Parker and other familiar faces why would they ruin their reputation and allowed proscout to use their faces behind some scam mess. I am going to the event to have a great time and be support for my daughter if she gets a call back or not I bet the experience would last a lifetime and while we are their party in New Orleans.

Hey all,
I used to trust people, but always double check what they told me. My boyfriend attended the Proscout interview yesterday and was invited for the November event in Charlotte, NC. After reading all of your comments I was completely lost in my opinion about Proscout and concerned for the boyfriend’s money and his disappointment if it turns out to be a scan. So I decided to double check. I just got off the phone after talking to three biggest model agencies in the country, which are listed in the brochure for the November event. I’m not going to name the agencies, you can do the same yourself if don’t believe. So, one of them said they are definitely attending, another said they don’t know yet (although they are already listed in the brochure as attending), and the third (the largest one as I know) kept transferring me from one person to another and I end up leaving the voicemail. So, I don’t know where are all your comments coming from, but they seem to be absolute legit, and my boyfriend deffinately will be attending the big event in November.
I’ll tell you what happened then!

I tried again months after that and he said i really enjoy your look please come to our convention where all the agents will be to look and maybe sign you. The last time Im like ok really i've seen your face 3 times and you are a liar you told me yes the first time no the second now yes again please go take another persons money you idiot. well I hope this proves to you how nasty and greedy these people are.

Proscout is NOT a scam... I've been to it many times, in fact I took may daughter three years ago, and encouraged my two nieces and a nephew to go. It is great every time, the people are honest, and nobody lies to you. They make it very clear from the get-go what you need to do, what you have to accomplish. What the people in many of these kinds of sites say is wrong, hostile, and in many cases, just sour grapes from haters. Sorry to tell you "Ahmad", but it sounds like the scout liked you, the other times he didn't. Grow up and own it. You sound like you are hating on your girlfriend after she broke up with you. How unflattering. "Centralmaine"... your problem is 1) you got a callback from an agency... but agent interest in you probably faded quickly after interviewing you . Proscout got you the interviews. Then you kinda blew it. So grow up. The other people whose only comment is that it's a scam if its not "free", need to grow up too. Modelign and acting is a business youre trying to break into, it's not a welfare state. ProScout merely offers to bring you the agencies if you want to meet them all. Then, if you dont' do well, you blame ProScout? You sound like the biggest losers in the world. What, are you guys star already? I know many many people who have gotten really good agencies and careers out of ProScout. You can call any of the biggest pro level agencies, they definitely go to Proscout ( i know, i've called many of them). So, stop hating haters! If you do proper research with respectable companies, ProScout checks out CLEAN. These days, many people are just whiny little complainers sometime, and if that is your attitude, why in the world are you pursuing work in a business where you must make your own exposure? You guys couldn it handle it if it was handed to you on a silver platter. Your only talent is criticising the quarterback in a football game (when all you've ever done is crack open a beer and watch it on TV). You think you know it all - and you know nothing. Grow up! ProScout is for people who want a chance to make it - not for people who hide in their own self serving state of delusion.

I would not spend my money on proscout I am not sure if it is a scam or not so I will not disrespect the company. Personally I would rather pay 600 dollars on classes than a showcase because the show case is not guaranteed but of course nothing is. But I believe you have a greater chance at succeding without proscout. All you have to do is send in your resume and headshot, take some classes, and gain some experience by doing some theater its a lot less complicated than filling your head with dreams that either you or proscout may have put in there, i dont mean to offend anyone its just my own opinion if you disagree then so be it but you have to disrespect anyone everyone has had their own encounters with proscout so you shouldn't disrespect them by telling them a bunch of nonsense.

Sorry photogrepper22 you are way off base assuming anything about me. Fact is, I could give two ### if my son has a career in acting or not, he will change his mind I am sure a few times in the next few years. Also, the interest did not fade from the talent agent, that is the point I am trying to get across here. He wanted to meet with us in new york, said call him in a couple of weeks, gave us his card, thought my son was a hoot, showed a great interest and made sure we knew how and where to contact him. So unless he got hit by a bus or is dead, I think he either lied or was a ### artist. Either way, grow up? Not sure how old you are photogrepper22 but your comment shows you are immature and cannot accept the truth yourself.

All the terrible stuff that you say about Proscout is wrong! I went to Proscout and got a call back and now I'm trying to get the money to go to the event in November in NC. I won't be going to the event because I can't get the money but I will try again in the near future. Proscout is a wonderful program with wonderful people that try to make your dreams come true if your not serious about it then why waist your time. Alot of you people that come on here and complain about them are just stupid, immature people that don't have anything better to do, or your just hurt cause you didn't get anywhere with Proscout cause maybe they didn't want you. So you figure since they didn't want you that you would talk bad about them. Wow you all should be ashamed of yourselves.

Hello:

Just wanted to touch basis, I have attended proscout twice with my daughter, first time she recieved 2 callbacks - second time she recieved 7. We have gotten 1 test shoot and are scheduled for test shoot got BMG in Oct - THIS IS NOT A SCAM, BUT - you have to be tall, thin, pretty to get callbacks .. NO MAKE UP! they don't like, LESS IS MORE.. if you are 13 or younger - you must be TALL.. 5'8 at least! Be prepared for monlogues, they will give you 1 chance ONLY, you mess up.. you can try for modeling..

If you are short, you have a small chance, unless you are super cute and super thin... these are just the facts.

Testshoots will cost you anywhere from $300-$800, nothing is free, you have to have money to be involved in this industry.. its is not free!

Procscout is out to get your money, plain and simple.
I attended an event with my daughter this past year. Our hotel alone was several hundred dollars.
They waved her fee if she would vouch for them .. and she has, but then again so have lots of people on this complaint board. I wonder how many of them were hungry teenagers lured by this under-handed promotional scam.
She got a call back, but nothing ever materialized. The agent was rude and not sincere within the least, her got her hopes up, then never called back.
I went mainly to keep and eye on her, the whole arrangement seemed shady to me and it was.
If you really want your child to 'make it' in life, don't set them up with a scam like Proscout is trying to pull. Sure they have the hype down pat, but in reality, these kids are being set up to fail. Spend time with your children, show them that you love them .. and be on the watch for scams like Proscout.

I don't know what and who to believe. Have any of you people even tried emailing them. I did and I got a great answer. I got a list of people who are attending and email addresses for the agents. I think that this will be great and fun. I will be attending the Chicago one on december 5&6. Part of the money is due October 17th. I need to know what to do... I am so confused. We will be getting a packet of more info in about a week and my mom and dad are waiting for that to arrive and that is when they will make their final decision. I would pay for it myself if I had the money. Because of tight money issues on my family we have to consider all of our options... please tell me what you think...

Hello Everyone,

I have read everyones comments and it is really hard to decide if this is a scam or not. I took my 4 year old daughter to the interview last week and she was invited to the December event in Chicago. I need to give the deposit by Oct. 11! don't have much time! What should I do? Like I said my daughter is only 4 years old, well she is turning 5 tomorrow. She is very photogenic and she loves modeling but she is young! and the sound of everything, it just seems that it is really hard to get into being so young. Please advice!

Hello - long time I have not posted. I just wanted to update everyone. We attended proscout in Orlando, recieved 7 call backs. From the 7 my daughter has followed through with 2, she did test shoots for 2 agencies. This past weekend, she did a test should with an agency, she ended up getting an exclusive contract with them and was booked on the spot for another shoot.

Just so you all know, its not a scam - it is expensive and you will have to come out of pocket at first for the actual event and perhaps for the test shoot - however if you decide you do not want to do it - the photos are yours..

All comments good and bad are interesting. People don't understand what these types of places these actually are. They are not an agencies. They tell you that up front. That being said yes, agancies are suppose to pay you no the other way around. But they are not an agency. so how do you expect these people to get paid and run their business. They try and sell you something! Wake up people and act and think like adults here... make resonable decisions that are good choices for you and your family! Some offer classes and photos in return for auditions which they might get you but its not probably what you want. It seems proscouts offer a chance to get you in a room with real agents in person. Now whether or not the agents are the real deal...thats the real question...but in truth you audition for these people, you audition for agents, and may never get chosen...nobody promises that you will be picked for anything..whether you paid something or not! what people need to realize that in entertainment nothing is guaranteed at all..if an agent likes you you get picked it not you have to keep trying...the way you go about getting an interview or audition though is totally up to you. If you feel one of these places is best then fine..if you fell you can go knocking door to door to every agency in LA or New York then fien. But NEITHER WAY is a guarantee instant success people! do people realize that it takes hard work to become famous or even to get into the business? these places offer an oppurtunity not instant fame...My point is make common sense decisions...with the internet now its is so easy to check out the lies so there is no such thing as a scam...read between the lines that these people are telling...no one promises anything even if you do sign with a real deal agent it is up to you and your talent to get to get the job...its all on you people not anyone else!

You people are so gullible that it is not even funny.

First off, do your research before getting into anything in life, especially the modeling/acting industry. What I find it hard to believe is that just with one click of the mouse, you will find out it is FREE for an agency to see you. It's called an Open Call. Most agencies around the country have a day set aside JUST SO THEY CAN SEE YOU. If they like you, you will then be contacted by the agency. FOR FREE!
So, what's the purpose of these scouting events? That's quite simple. To take your damn money. You seriously wanna give your money away just to get a phone call? Heck, I can e-mail an agency and get an e-mail back. You really think I'm going to pay almost a thousand dollars for that?
Seriously you guys and gals, stop being so easily fooled. That's why most people never become successful in what they want to be. It's the lack of understanding and initiative. I walked into an agency one day during an open call and THAT is how I got my modeling contract.

If you feel like wasting your money, e-mail me and I'll be glad to take it from you. Otherwise, do your research and keep your hard earned money.

Okay so...i'm a 13 year old girl who just got picked for an invitational in mass. reading this, i still believe that THIS IS MY CHANCE. if you didn't get a call back at the invitational then I'm sorry, but please don't say negative things about proscout because of it. look, this is my first year so i don't know a whole lot about it but it seems pretty legit.

I know what you're thinking "13 year olds are so naive." right? well, i guess we are. but i'm incredibly mature for my age and i just think that this is a great opportunity.

not everyone is going to get a call back, i understand that. but if YOURE WHAT THEYRE LOOKING FOR, then you'll get one. That's how it works.

my mom doesn't even know if i'm going to the weekend invitational because of reading things like this. i just want to say "if you're lying, and just mad that you didnt get picked, congratulations! you just possibly ruined my one chance at my dream.

First let me make it clear that I am NOT here to criticize or agree with anyone. I have seen many here asking for recounts of ACTUAL experiences, and that's what my post is offering. My youngest daughter, 12 and 1/2 years old, has been in plays before. She has been bugging me for YEARS now to "get [her] an agent." I heard about ProScout on the radio and decided to give it a try. At that interview, back in August '09 she got selected by Marwan to go to the Philadelphia event a couple of weekends ago (November '09.) Marwan said he chose her because he was impressed by the fact that, not only is she "adorable" -his words, not mine- but she actually worked and came up with a short monologue -and did it well!- for him within a matter of minutes. He said most kids her age would've just given up and walked out the door when given that challenge. After all of this, I was still reticent, especially with the large amount of money involved. But my daughter was SO happy and excited, that I decided to go ahead and pull my family's resources to help her go. I did make it VERY clear to her, however, that this was a ONE TIME SHOT, that we would NOT be able to do this again, and that she'd BETTER do her ABSOLUTE BEST to make it worth all the sacrifices. We read all the information, followed their instructions to the t, got school pictures that looked JUST like what ProScout RECOMMENDED, and my daughter worked her butt off with her monologue, practicing and PRACTICING! Before the event, we even kept in contact with Jennifer at the main office to arrange for my middle daughter to also attend as a guest (she is a minor and I couldn't leave her behind) at a discount. We chose to stay at the Marriott because I don't know Philly and we were offered a hotel discount. Jennifer, and everyone else we met at the event, ProScout or not -with the exception of a few "weirdo" and rude agents- were amazingly nice to us! My daughters and I met three other families with whom I hope to stay in touch -and wish them the best! We also met Didiayer Snyder (Extreme Makeover - Home Edition) who, for being a top model, is actually an extremely sweet person. We also met Chambers Stevens, who was not the one who judged my daughter's monologue, yet offered us some invaluable advice and asked us to seriously think about coming to California for his "boot camp." Most parents think their kids are beautiful, so I don't want to sound biased, but at 5'2" and barely 99 pounds, my daughter has a very striking and beautiful look with her European / Native American heritage. I have been told this by every single adult who ever meets her in person, so it's not just mom talking here. But she's also extremely talented, academically and artistically (straight A's, violin, piano, gymnastics, etc.) Trust me, I would NOT be doing this if I didn't think if was worth it to give her every possible chance. So we went to Philly and it was CRAZY! About 1000 participants alone, not counting their guests. Of them, about 400 tried out for monologue auditions. Only about 78 got called back for a second audition in front of the actual agents. My daughter was one of them. This was Saturday. On Sunday, EVERYONE got to walk the runway (with previous pointers from Didi, which some were obviously NOT paying attention to, so they messed up.) After that, EVERYONE again got a chance to walk in front of EVERY agent present, holding their best pictures in front, and with their BEST attitudes forward, even if many of the agents didn't even seem to be paying attention to them. Afterwards, everyone except the "actors" were released for lunch. The 78 or so remaining repeated their monologue performances in front of the agencies. We barely had a short break after that to grab lunch and be back for call-backs announcements. Of all those 1000 participants, "models" and "actors, " only about 1/3 got call-backs. Most only got one or two, and only about 4 or 5 people got more than 5. I was flabbergasted when my daughter got FOUR call-backs, one of them from FORD! Especially since she wasn't even there for modeling. I have to admit that I was a bit upset, and I do agree with many that ProScout events seem more geared towards models than actors, and many of the agencies that were listed (mostly for acting) didn't even show up. My daughter didn't get a contract with FORD or Management First because she's still too short and too young for their women's division. However, both agents were very nice, seemed genuinely interested, gave her contact information, and told her to "give [them] a call" when she gets a little older. The other call-back was from an agency in New Orleans, which I don't think we're going to pursue, since it's too far for us (Pennsylvanians.) However, we did follow through with a reputable agency in New Jersey (hop and a skip from New York) which deals with both models and actors. We went there for my daughter's screen test this past week, and the owner liked my daughter so much, she wants to promote her for both acting AND modeling. Of course, now we have to shell out the $500.00 or so for comp-cards, 100-count stack of them, to serve as my daughter's "calling cards." My husband was able to come along with us that day (he usually works very long hours and weekends, ) and we all agree that all the staff members at the agency are very nice and straightforward. My daughter is "IN" with them, and they are willing to wait until after the Holidays for us to get the comp-cards done. Well... I still wonder about the cost, but from what I have researched, it seems reasonable for professional photography... We'll let time tell... In the meantime, like I tell my daughter, do your research, do your work, LISTEN to directions, be respectful, be friendly, be grateful... And BEST of LUCK to all!

If an agency likes you...they pay for you. They pay airfare, travel expenses etc. This company sounds like it's the "middle man" connecting people with agencies for a FEE. If you feel like you have the talent or are model material, seek the agencies directly with your portfolio. I would say very rarely do things like this fall through. If you are going just to have fun and you have the extra $800 to dish out then do it. If you are going to have to pay money to fly different places and pay all of your own expenses, might as well do it on your own. It's a real slim chance that something will fall through...BUT there is that chance, just as there is if you did it on your own. So, why pay the "middle man?" Good Luck!

i got accepted to go to the proscout convention. yes ive been to john robert powers=SCAM. Ive been going to meetings trying to get in the business for about 6 years now..but i never gave up. anyone who is asking you to pay large amounts of money typically is trying to scam you. since ive been scammed before i know exactly how it works, but let me say this...ive done 2 tv shows tons of commercials and my acting career is going swell. why u ask? not because i paid anyone. if anything i only paid "la casting" and "actorsaccess" .com trust me those are legit ### sites for aspiring actors to get work or at least the audition. you just have to hustle in this business it doesnt happen over night for many it takes sacrifice and commitment. just like you would prepare for going to college your high school years then going to college for four years it takes time to reach a goal and to be successful in a legit business. my best advice is to hustle, network you dont need 500$ headshots or 900$ acting classes find cheap ones. and just give your self time...look at the bios of other stars and see how they made it. its a 10 year process "just giving a round about" just like any other profession. if you work hard and its something you really want you'll succeed. now since ive been on real sets and ive had guest staring roles and im only 17 your probably wondering why im going to proscout and ill tell you. ive been with a boutique agency (small not so well known agencies) for sometime and ive been bugging their ### to submit me to stuff. and thats exactly what happened im not gonna sit here and tell you my full story but eventually i auditioned for some guest starring roles and i booked them cause ive had training and so on. for FREE if not cheap and not through my agency just things i found on google. i now realize that my talent can and will go further. proscout brings you a-list and very well known agencies. ive tryed on my own to get with a well known agency and it is difficult unless you know some high up people who can get you in. so if proscout is willing to literally put me infront of these agents for a little fee then im down. cause im gonna go with my monologue and act my ### off and model my socks off and ill be dammed if i dont get called but ill def. keep you guys posted on everything. email me.. me10u90@tmo.blackberry.net
