Beware of car dealership commercials
I saw TV ad for Grand Prairie Ford – in Grand Prairie, TX advertising $12, 000 off of all Ford F-150′s on their lot with zero interest for 60 months. I even paused my TV to read the find print to see if any “catches.” I did not see any – but wanted to make sure – so I called the dealership on 3 different occasions and “Amar” assured me that the commercial was exactly true as stated. I told him I would be driving 2 1/2 hours to get there and did not want any surprises when I got there. Not to my surprise, when I got there the salesman told me that the $12, 000 was just on hail damaged vehicles. The manager came out and confirmed that – we told him the commercial did not state that, nor was in in the fine print on the commercial. He said sorry but that was the way it is.
The commercial should have just been honest and stated they were having a hail damage sale. I guess they thought once they got customers up there they would buy something. Well, we did NOT and felt that this was mis-advertisement and mislead the public! I GUESS THE OLD SAYING IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE…IT USUALLY IS holds true. BUYERS BEWARE!
Stay away
Grand Prairie Ford STAY AWAY! I purchased a 2009 Roush Mustang ($54, 000) when spending this amount of money you don't expect to find things wrong with the car like pulling to the left, shaking violently at 60 mph, air condition vent broken, seat had tear that had been poorly patched, rust on chrome wheels, molding coming up, clear coat coming off. I can keep going on and on but to make this story short, I contacted Keith Sheldon (General Manager) and he told me they don't cover warranty work on Roush mustangs anymore even though I confirmed they do through Roush. He sent me to a dealership some 60 miles away to have the repair work done. When I asked Keith If could get a loaner since the car was going to take 5 days to fix everything, he told me that if I would have bought the extended warranty he might have considered it. I asked him if he thought I was ever going to buy another car from him again and he said "no" and I said you don't even care and he said "no" he went on to tell me that he thought I could not afford the car that I bought and that I am just always trying to get something for free. All I want is for my car to be fixed, here we are 3 months later and I am still having problems with the car. Please don't do business with them, you will be sorry you did.
