Fraud
Briefly, I purchased a "Vornado Heater" for $87.92 from "homebrands.com".
On October 19, $87.92 was deducted from my PayPal account by a "Metro Market Sales".
On October 31, I received a UPS notification that a "Gary Benson" entered a shipping bill for an 8 lb. item.
As of November 11, the item has not shipped yet, as the UPS tracking indicates.
I have previously emailed the customer service address (mailto:[protected]@homebrands.com) for an explanation of the long wait, as well as requesting a refund.
I have not had any response whatsoever from "homebrands.com", and I'm currently in dispute with PayPal to get a refund.
Here's where it gets interesting (I did my own online investigating)...
The address of "homebrands.com" and "MetroMarketSales" is: 1204 Avenue U #1087, Brooklyn, NY 11229 which, thanks to Google Street View, is a Mail Drop address. Their 'Customer Service' phone number (their website states is 'down') is: [protected], which is a recording. Feeling immediately uneasy, I check the Better Business Bureau online. Well, it seems "homebrands.com" also does business as: dotcom project, giant savings, homebrands.com, ikitchen.com, kitchenhomegadgets.com, hcg logistics, metromarket.com, and many more, according to the BBB listing, along with their warning not to do business with them.
Visiting "metromarket.com", one finds a similar merchant website, and when clicking "about us", one finds a photoshopped "Metro Market Stores" storefront supposedly at the same Avenue U address with a "Please visit our store when in the neighborhood". Yeah, sure.
Upon furthur investigating online, it appears that there are HUNDREDS of complaints against this company by other customers getting charged for their purchases, and not receiving their items, not only from "homebrands.com", but "ikitchen.com" and other related webstores.
"HomeBrands.com" are apprently run by a "Dave Balas", also listed at 256 W36 St NY, NY. It also seems "HomeBrands.com" Corporation is listed at 2439 South 11th Street, Niles, MI 49120 and phone number: [protected], also a recording "Lines are Temporarily Busy".
"aboutus.org" lists "HomeBrands.com" contact as: FurnitureFind Corporation [protected], also a recording "Lines are Temporarily Busy".
You see where this is going.
A search on "my3cents.com" of "ikitchen" gives one a plethora of customer complaints.
I can go on with more information I've discovered, more supposed company addresses, etc., including finding that the domain, "homebrands.com", is 'privately listed' with WhoIs.
So, one can see this company does a fine job of presenting themselves as legitimate online, but in reality, they are accepting lots of orders, but not shipping product, hence, a fraud.
I'd like to make sure others don't get taken by this now-obvious scam.
Scam and fraud!
On 1/23/2008 i ordered a cuisinart coffee maker, and like everyone else i was told i would get shipping, and tracking info via email which to date i have not received, when i got my order info after purchase there email had a link to check order statis that has not changed since the day of the order.
I have tried several times to contact them thru email or calling there company phone # [protected], I left a message about a week ago and they still have not contacted me and the only responds i get was an automated email that reads i should receive this item in 10 to 14 days, today is 20 days and still nothing! I hope the only good thing that happens is that the dispute i filed with paypal, and my charge card account that i get my money back.
How can this company be allowed to do business? Has any one filled a complaint with bbb, or consumer affairs? Maybe if every one that has, or is in the processes of getting screwed files a complaints we can put this company out of business!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I just wanted to reinforce that ikitchen is still in operation till this date and that I was an unfortunate victim. Same story, I got charged right after my order was placed (09/06/2009), it never shipped.
After many unanswered emails (phone call are useless...), they finally answered and blamed the manufacturer of the item I ordered for the delay in shipping. I contacted the manufacturer, which kindly informed me that they had discontinued the referred item last year. I am now trying to get a refund. It has been almost one month since I placed my order.
The manufacturer in question (Zadro Mirrors) has been 100% helpful. I didn't order the item form them because they did not have the color I wanted and ikitchen claimed they did (should have suspected).
But after this is resolved, I will order the mirror from Zadro directly!
I ordered a heater from IKitchen. In the process it said the item was in stock. They charged my credit card immediately and delivery was supposed to take place within a week.
When I checked back it said to wait 3 weeks to complain about delivery. When I emailed at that time, they said they were sorry, it was not in stock and apparently they don't know when it will be in stock.
They didn't bother to tell me this before my following up. I could have ordered it somewhere else had i known, but was still waiting on them. They said they would cancel the order and refund the charge (which never should have been put through under the circumstances.)
It's been 2 weeks and I still haven't received the credit!
I agree. This company is terrible. I ordered a coffee maker almost 2 months ago. I started by asking for the status of the order. When no one responded to my emails, I threatened them with filing a complaint with the New York State Consumer Protection Board. Of course, I finally received a response. They told me the item would ship within the week. When I received no notice of the item being shipped, I contacted them again and asked that my order be cancelled. I received and email back saying that my cancellation request would be sent to the billing department and that I would receive a refund of my funds. Magically, only 3 days after they assured me that my order was cancelled and that I would receive a refund, I received an email saying that my order could not be cancelled in time and that the item had been shipped. I received a UPS tracking number. It has been for days since they claimed they shipped my item and yet the status on the UPS website has not changed. It states that it has received the billing information, but that the item has not yet been received by UPS. Interesting is the fact that the UPS webiste states that it received the shipping information on 8/26/08, which is 2 days after I placed the order. If the UPS website does not show that it has received the item by this Thursday, 10/9/08, I will file a complaint with the State of New York.
Another disturbing issue is that I have been receiving emails recently from the company stating that they are possibly going bankrupt. Nice.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! A GOOD DEAL ON A COFFEE MAKER IS NOT WORTH IT!
NO customer service!
We ordered a Panasonic Vortex Shaver (refurbished) which arrived a little later than when it was promised--no big deal. Unfortunately, after completely charging the shaver, it would never hold a charge longer than one shave. We contacted the company by email, as requested, and asked for an RMA and call tag. We have received NO response. Luckily we obtained the product by credit card and will be disputing the charge through the CC company. However, I caution ANYONE from buying from this company, as they have no way to contact them other than email. And they just ignore you...
I ordered a Jobar Rechargeable Long Reach Bug Vacuum System on March 21, 2009. It is now over 2 months later and I still have not received it. When I contact the company to cancel my order, they have refused to do so stating that it is on backorder and will be sent when available. A reputable company would allow you the option of canceling if they are unable to fill your order in a reasonable amount of time. I am very dissatisfied with their service.
Well, I certainly wish I had come to this complaints site before I did any business with iKitchen.com They are truly terrible at what they are in business to do. I ordered a Singer sewing machine from them on 1/13 and was told to wait at least 15 business days before bothering customer service with an order status complaint, which I did. When I did receive a response, it was at least 4 days later (longer than the 72 hours they predict) and my complaint was completely unaddressable. They just sent out a generic email telling me to be patient and wait 15 business days... Here I am puling my hair out because I did business with this website that doesn't have any brains behind it! It is 2/11 and I still have not received my machine or ANY information about it. I am surprised that other people on this website received more information than I have. I can't get any kind of personal attention. I am almost ready to cancel my order and just go to walmart. I cannot express how frustrated I am with this experience. I will never do business with iKItchen again. I take that back, they would need to make some major changes for me to consider it, but it's very unlikely I will be doing business with them again.
I placed an order for a Cuisinart Food Processor on January 6, 2008. The advertisement indicated that the product would ship within 2-3 days and that I would receive shipping confirmation within that time period. On January 9, 2008, I contacted customer service via e-mail and asked the status of my order. I was not contacted until January 20, 2008 when I received the following e-mail response:
"Dear Valued Customer, I am very concerned that you have not received your package yet. I followed up and there seems to be a distributor delay with your order. I will contact my distributor and try to get them to supply tracking information or at least to expedite your order. I will also email you a tracking number with 48 hours from the time it is generated. You also have the option to cancel if you cannot wait; which is perfectly understandable under the circumstances. Let me know your decision either way."
I replied asking for faster shipping as an expedited order as well as tracking information. I received an e-mail showing a FedEx tracking number with an anticipated delivery date of January 28, 2008. When the package never showed up that day, I contacted FedEx inquiring about the shipment. FedEx told me that only the package information was transmitted and the package itself was never dropped off. I e-mailed customer service again on January 28 asking for an explanation and I finally heard back from them February 5 indicating the package has shipped and would be arriving February 10. There is no telephone number listed for customer service and the delay for e-mail responses is unacceptable.
I am having the same problem as everyone else this company is a complete fraud!. how i found out about this company is through yahoo shopping after not having the product I needed yahoo shopping provided a link of other sites that may have it, so I ordered it without googling the company first. I felt that since yahoo shopping recommended them i was okay, BUT BOY WAS I WRONG. After emailing requesting information about my order and receiving no resoponse, I google their name and low and behold I knew I had been had. Please do not order from this company. I contacted yahoo and told them what happened and now I seem to be getting some results!never ever shop from this site. always google a company before buying from them!
I wish I would have had the foresight to read these comments before ordering from iKitchen. I ordered two items from them 5/2 and have not received them even though they charged my debit account of 5/5. They sent me order confirmation and by the "looks" of their site, you should be able to track your package and order status. However, all you get is the "opportunity" to e-mail the company and ask about your order. I received an e-mail from "Elvia" telling me the order was backordered 7-10 days. Thanks for letting me know 13 days later, and then only in response to my inquiry. The site also states their "phone system" is not working presently. They offered me a 10% discount to order something else for my trouble. Yeah, something else I'd never see. I am contacting my bank and referencing this site. I will say as well "DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!" no matter how good their sale may seem.
Stick to Amazon.
I am convinced that ikitchens.com is a criminal enterprise. I managed to speak with someone [who said her name was Elvia] who said that my March 18 order was going to be shipped on the day that I called (April18) and to check with FedEx. But the order was never shipped and I do not expect to ever see the order or a refund. This was purchased through AMEX so I will get my money back eventually. In the meantime I am preparing a formal complaint to the New York State Attorney General's office. No doubt I will be yet another in a long line of scammed individuals. Now my calls are not answered at all .. the phone rings and rings and then cuts off.
BEWARE -- DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DO BUSINESS WITH THIS PHONY COMPANY.
I too am a victim of non delivery and lack of customer service with ikitchen. I ordered a Cuisinart rice cooker on Jan 24, 08 from them because they had the lowest price. I still have not received it. When I email them I get the same form letter back saying I should wait 15 business days to complain. Today I told them to cancel the order but no response. If there is a charge I will fight it through my ccc. How can they stay in business?
This company is fraudulent and deceitful.
It will take me too long to write down my horrible experience with this company. I'm preparing a formal lawsuit against the company.
If you have any common sense, do not buy from iketchen.com or any of their subsidiaries.
Thank you,
Please I have read all these complaints on your company. If I had known this I wouldn't have placed an order with this company. I need some response on my tracking number immediately or I will let my lawyer take care of this for me, hopfully it doesn't go that for. Convienttly you have no customer service phone number. Please email me my tracking number.
Thank you
Sheila Robinson

Do NOT ORDER anything from I-Kitchen. On 1/7/08 I ordered a kitchen scale from them and as of today 1/26/08 I have still not recieved my item. I have sent 2 seperate e-mails to the company since there is no telephone support, only to receive back an automated reply without any particulars.
Save yourself the aggrevation and order elsewhere...
Did not receive shipment or refund
I ordered a popover pan on November 28, 2007 for a gift. I inquired several times about delivery and finally on December 23, 2007 said that they waiting on the shipment. At that time I told them to cancel the order. Then I received information that the pan was to ship on December 26 even after me requesting a refund because I had to purchase another gift. Now I did not receive the pan and I don't have a refund.
It is impossible to get in touch with these people only by email. I will never order from anther company that does not have a telephone number to contact them.

I ordered a coffeemaker from Ikitchen.com in April 2009. On May 15, 2009, $69.62 was debited from my account. After cancelling my order on June 15th and requesting a refund, I still have not received my refund. I have made numerous inquiries and I am told every time that they are sending it to an account specialist and to allow 72 hours to resolve the situation. I still do not have my money.
Site looks valid but inadequate information given regarding products. Bought a Juicer however, product delivered was a refurbished machine. It was supposed to be a new one as no part of their website gave any indication that this is what they were selling. Customer support is nil as there is no phone number or address to contact them. They were quick to charge my credit card so now have to cancel the card in case the site is fake.
Order Date: Sun Jan 27 15:37:08 EST 2008
Order#: dotcoms-468649 from iKitchen.com
Item ordered: Typhoon - Vintage Blue [protected]
It has been over 2 months but I have not received the item I purchased. They are not replying to emails either. Paid via PayPal but paypal says they can not resolve the issue because I should have disputed within 45 days of the payment.
Thanks,
soni
I ordered a kitchen utensil 6 weeks ago and still no delivery and no contact from iKitchen. No response from customer service other than a "form" response telling me to allow 15 days for delivery. Emails and calls are totally useless. I am having to file a claim through my credit card company. What a mess. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SORRY COMPANY! WHATEVER IT IS YOU WANT IT IS NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE TO ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY AT ANY PRICE.
I placed an order for a waffler on 11 November 2007. My credit card was charged the next day.
I have received no product. I have received no emails.
I have contacted customer service at least 4 times, no response ever.
This is the worst online merchant I have ever dealt with.
iKitchen.com is a fraud and a major rip off scam. I wouldn't be surprised if the good reviews were made by their staff! Did you check out other sites with major rip off complaints? I was ripped off $30.00 BUT I will find a way to take them DOWN! I will search until I do, that is not a threat but a promise. I work too hard for my money! There has to be away to make this company accountable!
THIS SITE (iKitchen.com) COLLECTS YOUR MONEY AND SENDS YOU NOTHING BUT PROMISES IN A TIMELY FASHION. FIND YOUR ITEM ELSE WHERE IF YOU WANT/NEED IT WITHIN TWO MONTHS.
THE ITEM I ORDERED IS A CHEF'S CHOICE KNIFE SHARPENER MODEL 120. I EMAILED THEM ASKING THE STATUS OF MY ORDER AFTER 15 DAYS. THEY RESPONDED BY TELLING ME THAT MY ITEM IS DIFFICULT TO OBTAIN IN THIS VOLATILE MARKET. ARE THEY JOKING? IT IS NOW 29 DAYS AND COUNTING.
I CERTAINLY WISH I HAD CHECKED THEM OUT BEFORE ORDERING.
I was just about to purchase an item from ikitchen, when I did what has become routine for me - - I put IKITCHEN SCAM into the web search field, and found your post, along with numerous others. Ever since being burned a few years ago, I have used this precaution, and I recommend that others do the same - - It's a quick and pretty reliable tip (provided the web site isn't so new it hasn't been outed yet). We consumers have to stick together and avoid these jerks.
I certainly agree with you about iKitchen.com. My PayPal payment went through on March 4, 2008, and I have not received anything from company. I filed a dispute with PayPal a week ago, asked questions on iKitchen web site, and still no responses, so I will never recommend iKitchen, and have been telling everyone i KNOW to avoid ordering from them. And to check for complaints from any online retailer before ordering.
I ordered an electric shaver from them on Jan 16, 2008 and my card was charged the same day. I received an email the item would ship within 4 days. Then I received an email saying to allow 3 weeks for shipping. I gave them the 3 weeks and then requested a refund. No response. I wrote again for a refund - again no response. I wrote again for a refund and they responded to allow an additional 10 to 14 days for shippment. They will not issue a refund. I have filed complaints against them with several consumer agencies, the FTC, my bank, their BBB, and Mastercard (so far - more to come). Don't give these people a penny - you'll never get your merchandise or your money back.
