I purchased a tru tech tv in October 2006. The tv has broke in 6 months. I am very upset with target and trutech. I will not shop at target anymore. I don't believe i can get my money back because of other complaints i have read. I just wanted to say this is very bad for business saying target is where all the rich folks go. Ha ha.
I want to get technical help on retrieving my Sponge Bob DVD disk from your TruTech T600-D DVD player I bought in Nov/Dec 2006 from Target in Torrance, CA
Your DVD player first of all will not play the hostaged DVD disk. Second it keeps saying "loading"... Then the message goes to: "wrong disk" and won't OPEN so I can remove the disk.
NEED HELP!
I was given a combo tv/dvd as a x-mas gift and returned it in February because it stopped working. Target wouldn't take it back. I shipped it to Trutech and have not heard from them. Does anyone have their address or customer service number?
Thanks!
I bought a 13" trutech Tv for my son for his birthday in Nov of '07. All of a sudden the channels kept flickering as though the TV was about to go out. The wierd thing is the channels we watch often have this problem more so than the channels we barely watch. I though it was the cable wire but that wasn't the problem. If I watch a channel long enough it starts flickering. I was thinking about bringing it back to target but I am glad I didn't waste my time. I will never buy a tv from Target ever.
TruTech is a polished TURD!
My husband bought this for me as a Christmas gift, it began freezing up about 60 days after I was given my gift...thought it was a fluke...kept trying but it still does the same thing.
Called Target and of course, you guessed it...passed the 90 days...and who keeps the friggin' box it came in? Like I would still have that.
I wrote in a complaint to Target, they asked me for the numbers, blah, blah, blah...so we shall see.
Otherwise...no more Target for me. We work too hard for our money to have what is supposed to be a "quality" product take a dump on us.
If anyone gets through and sees some type of redemption...anything!
Pleasse lt us know!
Call it the Target Two-Step as they dance away from any responsibility for their crappy products! We bought our first 19 inch TV+DVD+PC Monitor PLV31199S1 in Nov. 2007 for $330. We had to return it due to the DVD player "freezing" on and off on Dec. 31, 2007. The second one started freezing the end of April, beyond the 90 day warranty so I thought I would just live with it. Now the first of June, the DVD player will freeze after every 20 minutes of use. I sent an email to Target customer service and received a canned "thank you for bringing this to our attention" reply. I went to the store. They told me there was nothing they could do and to call the Customer Relations number. Which I did. When I told him that Target was manufacturing and selling a sub-standard product with an obvious manufacturing defect, he told me that there wasn't a problem otherwise Target would have recalled the product. I told him that I had done a cursory search of the internet and had printed off 28 pages of complaints on this product. His response was that people may be complaining on the internet, but they weren't calling Target. He then told me to call Alco Electronics at [protected]. I called it five times today and it did not connect any of the times. I called Customer Relations back and informed them of this. They told me to call TruTech Customer Service at [protected]. I was on hold for 25 minutes waiting for them to answer. When they finally did, I was told that I needed to speak to "Andrew" the department manager. Upon the transfer, I found myself in a voice mail que for "Paul" who quickly said that you needed to email him at some address he said once in English, Spanish and French. Unfortunately I missed it the first time and was out of patience to call them back. Let's face it, they won't do anything anyway. What ever happened to Lemon Laws?
My other plan of attack is that I paid for it by Mastercard. I have contacted them and they offer an extended warranty that doubles the manufacture warranty. When I told the Mastercard rep the manufacture warranty was only 90 days, he was shocked! I have to jump through some hoops, including getting a repair estimate. If the estimate is more than the TV, they will refund my money.
Just to add to the complaint board. My trutech TV broke after 13 months where it just went black and stopped working, and the manufacturer would not help me unless i paid $80 and paid shipping there and back. very upset. Their warranty is so short it's a joke.
im trying to switch to cable but i need a code and i cant find one
i have had my tv for 5 years and it is working fine but i cant find the codes to switch to cable
well I shipped it off on the 10th of April payed for the repairs on 26th of May and still have not gotten it back, o they do not answer emails, from 1800customersupport.com I would suggest just throw the thing in the trash and call it a lesson learned.
Well, well, well...I guess you can add the Zimmerman's to the crap list. The 20"TRUTECH TV/DVD COMBO was purchased 08/19/2006 for our daughter for her hard work on her report card. Now, as of 06/15/2008, it has died. We can turn the TV on...we just dont get a picture or sound. I guess we can be added to the other list...the banned list to shop at Target. Also...I tried calling the number on the back of the book...[protected]...what a bunch of crap...international number, wants to charge me 5.95 to make this call and additional charges there after.
Add one more to this LONG list! 15" Trutech LCD TV no longer works, purchased it October 2006, trash now! Thanks Target!
Same situation. Grandparents bought two 19" flat screens with DVD built in for x-mas. Our daughter's went out 3 months and cousin's went out 4 months after x-mas. Put up a big stink at Target and got the first one replaced. 9 months later it goes out again. Won't buy electronics from Target ever again.
I Got My Tv About 1 Year Ago About 6 Months Ago The Sound Started 2 Go. Now In Order 4 Me To Use It I Had To Buy Speakers For It. I Will Never Buy Another One Again.
My wife bought me a 7" TruTech Digital Picture Frame from Target at Christmas. It worked fine for about a week then it started locking up. We would turn if off and back on and it would work fine for awhile. After the 3 months of warranty was up the screen went into a super saturated mode that distorts the pictures beyond recognition. Can't use the thing any more. Doesn't appear I can get it repaired. My family and I will never shop Target Electronics again, don't care what brand it is, don't trust them.
I bought a 20" tv dvd combo. all set Remote has never worked. we put in the first movie to watch and not only would it not load now it will not open and the brand new movie fresh from its package is still in the TV...
It was the biggest piece of crap I have ever wasted money on>>>>
I also missed the window to return Target has a 30 day policy on electronics...
I want a new TV /DVD player sent to my house and they can have this defective one sent back! any ideas how to contact them...
Sincerely
Terri
sales Rep for electronics (not Tru Tech)
Trutech sucks! I have a 19" TV DVD combo, what a hunk of junk. First, when I pressed the open button, the damn door just fell off. FELL OFF! To top things off, the player clicks, makes horrible grinding noises and then won't load the DVDs. It says wrong disc! WTF is wrong with Trutech.
The worst part is their support SUCKS. Not only will then not help you, but they want to sell you more crap that you don't want.
STAY AWAY FROM TRUTECH!
I brought my 19' trutech tv on black friday in 2007. July 21 2008 i woke up and tried to change my tech and it stayed on the same station but the numbers were changing. I got home that night and it worked fine for 20 mins then it did the same thing now i can only watch one channel all day/night long. This is a piece of JUNK!
I have the same problem with Trutech and would like to call the company. I had a 15 flat screen that lasted 14 months. I have it boxed in the box it came in and would like to send it back
I just found the email for the CEO at Target I suggest you write him as I just did. They need to know this directly.

I bought the TruTech 17" TV/DVD Combo for my daughter last Christmas and about 2 months ago the screen went black and it flashes blue. I can't take it back because it has been well over 90 days. I think there shoud be a recall on these so-called tv's, they are nothing but JUNK!
SOLUTION:
My trutech 19" had sound with out picture; however, I have learned how to get a pic. Sometimes it takes turning it on and off seventimes or more. But leaving the sound on for a few minutes (letting the unit warm up) then turn it off then on again and voila! a picture. I have been doing this for months now. Good luck.
I read the comment from "Target Guy" about purchasing the extended warranty...how about TARGET sell products that don't break within the first year...yeah it's a cheap brand, but $200 or $300 is not a cheap amount of money! I am now starting to have problems with my 19" trutech t.v. it's unbelievable that Target is so strict on their return policy on EVERY product...how about they have more of a warranty on products like electronics so people who spend several hundred dollars on a product don't get screwed and end up losing out...It's more understandable to have a 90 day warranty on a product like a toy that you only spend $10 or $20 on! Not something that costs HUNDREDS of dollars! Maybe Target should learn a thing or two from Wal-Mart!
We bought a tru tech plv 6320 on 12 06 we didnt use it for 6 mos turned it on then right after approx 2 hours it got real hot and just shut off. we have used it approx 3 times in a year an the same thing happens i hope ican find one at target i will try the same thing my predecessor did and take a chance and take this back. thank you and appreciate this forum
I have the 19" too. it poped the other night and quit . Now I have a standby light and nothing else happens. I bought this pile alittle over 1 yr ago...Damm the luck! Has anyone found a solution on this other than trashing the product. Anyone out there to fix it?
I bought a 19" Trutech on Black Friday 2006 and it works great!
### TRUTECH
i bought it no less than a year ago, and the pice of junk's DVD player is broken! the TV goes on the experiences problems occasionally as well, channels will be deleted or subtitles will get stuck. what ever u do DONT BUY A TRUTECH!
Had the same issue, blue screen no power blah blah blah...
after reading the pages and pages of complaints with no solutions i got fed up and decided that if its not working its trash and if its trash then what could go wrong. i took out all the screws from the back of the tv and i took off the stand. my tv once again is working, for how long who knows but its working for now. as i type this my boyfriend is screwing then screws back in for me but you may want to give it a try. the way i look at it you cant break something that is broken. it worked for me.
Same thing -had the trutech about a year it now doesnt work!
i have had my 19" with dvd player for 9 months...when i try to turn it on by remote... it takes about 20 times to hit power before it does come on.. sometimes it works.. sometimes its a blank screen.. i have to unplug it and start again. It does not turn on at all by pressing the button on the tv. I am upset because I dont have the money to replace this... I worked hard to have to money to buy this one... what do you do...
I'm a very upset costumer. I bought my first Trutech 19" thin LCD TV (MODEL#: PLV16190) November 2006 and it broke within 4 months. Since I didn't take my receipt to the store they exchanged it. However, I didn't use the TV and left it in the box at my mom’s while I was deployed. I recently returned in March 2006 and the TV stopped working last week and they will not replace or repair the TV. I told them the TV is still new and I just took it out the box a few months ago. Furthermore, this is the second TV in less than 2 years. I have never bought a TV that last only 4 - 6 months. I totally agree with all of the customers above “these TV's are JUNK" and Target is promoting JUNK.
Dissatisfied Customer,

I bought two TruTech TV'S one for son one for daughter, right off the bat the dvd did not work on one, the other TV worked for two months and than kept saying "NOW SCANNING" across the screen. I of course did not have the reciepts and when I spoke to Target they would not budge. So I told them to look up my account of which over the years I have spent 20, 000 dollars and told them they just lost their best customer. The tv" were cheap so for 200.00 that they would not refund, look what they lost. I also took both Tv's and placed them in a Target shopping cart with a sign that said "BROKE WHEN PURCHASED". I kept walking all around the shopping center telling everyone!
I also purchased a Trutech 17" TV/DVD from target and it crap out me as well.
I bought a Trutech tv screen with a built in DVD player. It stopped working before it was even a year old.
Target failed to solve the problem, but they were couteous and professional. They got me the manufacturer's phone number. The manufacturer --Alco Electronics -- failed to solve the problem and on top of that, they were rude and unprofessional. They refused even to answer basic questions. Their phone number is [protected].
I have the Trutech 19" Tv+DVD+PC Monitor (PLV31199S1). It was given to me as a gift through my employer in December 2007. I've not experienced any problems with it until recently. I was trying to play a DVD I rented from Netflix; it played the previews, but not the actual movie. I thought the DVD was defective and returned it, got another copy...same thing happened. I contacted Netflix who informed me that some newer DVD's are encrypted in order to prevent illegal copying. This less than one year old Trutech device can't read the encryption, so I contacted the manufacturer at [protected] and was told that I would have to ship the TV back to them with a check for $65. They will have to update the laser software, which will take up to 8 weeks turnaround time. I don't have money invested in this unit; however, it is frustrating to find out that I will have to spend $65 plus shipping to have it updated.
i have a tru tech tv model # t2000-d and the remote was broken and i woud like to buy a new remote.
thank you

Was about to buy a TruTech 19 inch 720pLCD HDTVwith built in DVD at the Target store located near North Wales, PA. Target advertises this TV at $249.00. (Reg at $309.99) For sale beginning 10/05/08.
My wife thought this was a great buy. I checked with you and have avoided getting a dud.
A 3 year extended Service Plan can be had for $29.00.
After reading the experiences others have had with TruTech TVs from Target, I'll not even waste the gas to go to look at it and check it out..
I'll stick to Toshiba, Sony or Samsung even if they can cost an additional $100 or more.
Thanks to all for telling of your experiences with Target Stores.
I bought a 17 inch LCD trutech television. It stopped working inside of five months. Notice how I didn't capitalize "trutech" because it's not a proper noun. It's a verb. If you want another way to say someone got screwed, just say they got "truteched" or "targeted". I found it at target. I didn't know the company but I thought I could trust "target". I was "dead-tv" WRONG.
i have a 2n1 17 inch lcd, dvd my pitcher has a fine red line going horizontal and this was made april 2007 how can i get this fixed or resolved by mfg ...please help
I also bought a 19" tv from them had less than four hours on it and it stopped working had to send it back to factory it cost me another fortyfive dollars and two mo. to get it back What A peice of ###!
never would I buy another product from them again.
I absolutely agree that Target's Tru-Tech is a piece of CRAP! How does a company get away with selling these things knowing full well they are worthless?! Target should get their heads out of their butts and look to the populace and what's best for them! We have a 26" Tru-Tech tv that's just under two years old and trying to get it turned on is like pulling teeth without novocain! The sound comes on but immediately when the picture shows up, the tv turns itself off. How do we find out who the manufacturer is or who to get in contact with for the manufacturer's warranty? Are they hiding out because they know their products are junk?! It's ridiculous and Target should have the common sense and common decency to do something about it! Maybe if people began BOYCOTTING TARGET for a few months they would get off their butts and finally take action!
