Today made the 2nd time we have left Red Robin in Farragut TN without eating.
We stopped to eat at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. After scanning the dining room I noticed there was less than 20 people in there and no one waiting. After telling the host that it was a party of two he said you may sit at a bar top now or it will be a 40-50 minute wait. I was totally surprised because there were empty tables all over the restaurant. We decided to go into the bar area and chose a high top table. A waitress came over and said this area is closed but you can sit at the bar. I told her we were not going to sit at a bar and eat our lunch so she proceeded to tell us we would have to go back to the lobby and wait. I told her if we had to wait 40-50 minutes in a nearly empty restaurant then we would just leave. This is totally unacceptable and I seriously doubt we will ever eat in this restaurant again. It's a shame because this use to be our favorite place to get burgers.
Desired outcome: Better service at this facility and an apology.

I worked at Red Robin as a host and the only reason there would be seat available is if there was short staff in the kitchen so the 40-50 minute wait would be so the kitchen staff can get everything together before taking other people, (we’re only human).
