Man are they persistent. They call every day once or twice from every changing numbers - 1 877 641 xxxx. When you call them back, they tell you they installed something that they need to remove. They will not take you off their call list They will tell you through your IP address all other electronics have been infected and it doesn't matter which computer to use. I told them IP addresses are dynamic (they change often) not static and already they had no clue what I was talking about. For 48 minutes I dragged them along on the phone, hoping they will now take me off their list. They are getting so sophisticated: they new I had recently switched to windows 10, they knew exactly what model number I have, they knew for what I had send the computer in to be repaired. Downright scary! DO NOT FALL FOR THIS! I contacted dell and they confirmed it was a scam. In the news is currently an article that dell might have been hacked and this is how they got all your info.
Have been receiving calls from 1-800-Service. Until today (22 Oct) there have been no messages, but this message said they represent (xxxxx) Associates & are trying to collect a debt. I have never heard of the company they are suppose to represent, do not owe any back bills and have received no calls/messages from my regular creditors. This leaves just one conclusion - a scam by 1-800-Service. Beware and don't answer if they call you.
