I got a washer and drier from this company they ripped my brand new fllo and did not hook the cold water up right so the washer linked and when it did it went into my bedroom when i told them about it they said they would fix it. the manager of the spt that i was at she called them and told them that they need to fix it they never did they said with all the credit that they gave me it paid off the repair well they did not tell me that the credit that they gave me as for the damage. well then they gave me a 500 dollar in store credit well they backed out of that i ended up with a 200 in store credit well i got a garmin and they knocked the price down to 199 and so i thought that the 200 would cover it well that was not the case the main manager put in the computer that it was a 99 dolor pay off i made a payment and then thought it was crap what they were doing do i fought them on it so i talked to someone else and he said that i could make what payment that i wanted and as long as there was some kind of payment every month until it was paid off i thought great but then they showed up at my house and i was getting phones calls from then saying that i needed to make a payment i went off on them and the guy that i talk to that made the agreement when i talk to him again he said that the agreement with told me that he never said that i will never tell anyone to go there since then i have found somewhere else to go to get my stuff through and they are great.
I just can't believe where this country is heading. When a person signs a lease aggreement with someone that specifies the date the payment is due, as well as the amount that is due and then gets upset when the party that is owed the money and has lived up to their end of the bargain wishes to be paid on time. It's crazy. I mean a business should understand that just because I signed the aggreement and gave my word and am legally bound to it, doesn't mean that I will do what I said. I have other bills to pay which are more important than Aaron's. Sure, I have used and enjoyed the merchandise I've leased for these last few weeks, but they are a big company and can absorb my non-payment. I shouldn't have to pay any of my bills when I leave town for the weekend, or when I have a death in the family, or when my car breaks down. I mean it's not like I'm running from them. They should just be happy that I will come in sometime. After all it is my RIGHT and not a priviledge to have my 50" LCD with surround sound to go with my living room suit. I unamerican to say "Where's my payment?"
Aarons should have signs on their buildings saying Aarons cheat and steal. Not Aarons sales and lease ownership. The general managers are only concerned with their bonus not the customer. After being a long time customer of Aarons with several paid out contracts I had a heart attack and open heart surgery.
THIS PUT ME OUT OF WORK FOR A PERIOD OF SEVERAL MONTHS.
I have a car loan with one of the major banks so my credit was not bad Aarons was quick and easy so I would deal with them.
After being released from the hospital the Bank with a car loan of over $20000. Gave me a 120 day extension to get well enough to work then resume payments. Aarons refused and took me to court to recover the furniture. Three of the contracts with them had only 5 payments to go for ownership. They say lifetime renewal. Bull They refused and want the furniture. It’s must be some there wants my furniture so they want it back WITH ONLY 5 PAYMENTS TO GO.
Aarons is composed of thieves’ not real people. They have no feelings for people the United States Senate and house have bill that have been stalled by the rent to own industry to prevent the change of laws to protect the consumer. Everyone who reads this should write there senators and representatives and push them to think of the people they represent and get the legislation passed that was proposed to change the way rent to own companies do business.
Aarons charges you for a service plan and charges tax on this you do not pay taxes on service. This is put on all contracts without a option to refuse this. This is a form of interest they charge and cover this up as a service agreement the consumer has no rights when you do business with Aarons. I did business with the Snellville Location in Georgia. GOING TO COURT IN Georgia is a waste as the courts are there to protect Georgia companies not the citizens of the state. If there is an attorney with Balls out there look at these violations of title 15 and state USURY LAWS FOR THESE TYPES OF COMPANIES. Several states have found these contracts are sales contracts the Courts in Georgia refuse to look at the decisions of other states As Aarons is a Georgia company therefore protected. The Governors consumers’ protection group with the state attorney general will do nothing as this is again a Ga. Company therefore protected under the good o boy plan. I contacted several civil contract attorneys who declined to represent me as they did not want to ruffle the feathers of this company who did so much for the people of Ga. Well I am one of the people of Georgia. What about Me.
Actually, Aaron's has a company policy that discriminates against ###s who can't spell correctly or use punctuation. When you signed your lease agreement it was in boldface type right on the front form... which you probably couldn't read being an illiterate [censored].
It amazes me how many "complaints" you will read regarding rent-to-own places. Almost every one is written by some incompetent ### saying "they kept calling me at my work and my payment was only 2 days late" or some nonsense. Here's a hint... pay your bills and everything will go smoothly for you in life. Damn, what a concept! Idiot.
I have had a bad experience with Aarons too. We are preferred customers, meaning we have paid off accounts with them in the past, 3. We leased a LCD tv about 10 months ago. Last month we decided to use the Payment Holiday option on our contract. But its not actually a payment holiday. We have to pay half of our regular payment and the other half gets put on the end of the loan. At any rate that is what we chose to do for last month. Noteworthy, in my contract it clearly states that using the payment holiday will not put my account in arrears or generate a late fee. This month I went into Aarons to let one of the managers know that our payment was going to be two weeks late. It was unavoidable. This guy was totally rude, told me he would not accept my post dated check (Aarons way of accepting a payment you cannot make right away) told me I needed to go to Amscot to get a loan, or to relatives and get a loan. I told him no I would not be doing that. We had a hard month, I could make my full payment in two weeks, if that is not acceptable come get the tv. He then informs we are one and half months behind anyhow because we used our payment holiday last month, say what? NO WAY.
Then today I get a letter in the mail from Aarons asking for payment, and says we are current through the first of the month, NOT a month and half behind. Why does this manager continue to lie and berate almost everytime we see him? This is wrong and no way to treat a customer. I have asked him on two occassions now what our pay off balance is and he refuses to tell me. This store needs some serious work, some management training would be helpful too. They have lost a long time aarons customer.
You think thats bad, I bought a laptop in June 09, I paid it off early in Nov. 09. Screen went out in Dec 09. They tell me now since I paid it off early the warranty is out.The in store warranty is only good as long as your making payments. And for me to contact HP on the manufacturers warranty. So I did, come to find out the 1 year manufacturer warranty ran out in 09 before I got Aarons paid off. I thought I was getting a new laptop..I found up in the far corner of the agreement it said used in real fine print. They failed to mention this when I bought it.The laptop was pre-leased in October of 08..So now I am stuck with a dead laptop..Here in Carthage Tx

"Lmnop" and "M".
I noticed your [censored] comments.
I paid mine off early and got screwed in the process..
I think they're fine if you buy right out or do 90 days same as cash. Otherwise, its better to just save up your money for what you want and then just buy it. We have rented from them twice, once when our computer quit and once when we needed a fridge- but only for one month while we shopped for a better deal. If we would have bought the computer outright from them it was going to be $500-something but if we were just going to do payments it would have ended up costing $1500-something. The fridge was around $1000 to buy, $2000 if we made payments. So just make sure you do the math before you jump into a lease!
