Today 22 September 2023,10.20pm I drove to the Fujairah Corniche Adnoc Station to fill petrol. When the attendant arrived, I told him I needed 15 Dhs Special.
I gave him Dhs 20, as I did not have change. He asks me "Madam how much did you say?"
I replied "15 Dhs".
He says "Oh I heard 50". And he expected me to pay the rest.
I told him, I clearly told him "15 Dhs". To which he casually says "Ya so I heard 50 no". It is not my fault what he heard! I usually fill petrol from Sakamkam Adnoc Station or Enoc stations, and every attendant always clarifies - "Madam, one five, or five zero please?"
Firstly this attendant was not willing to admit it was his mistake. I asked him to call the manager in-charge and I am not sure that person was the manager becase he was just as unprofessional! The attendant told him what had happened and he tells me to pay the rest of the amount. Again I told him it was not my fault, to which he laughs and further argues with me saying "Ya ok humans will make mistake, you are not human? You will also make mistake no?"
This is a very unprofessional way of talking! I asked them 5-6 times - "Did I say 50 or 15, is it my mistake?" They shamelessly did not want to admit their mistake! I had to close my shop at 10.30pm and I kept telling them tgat I am getting late as I need to pick my employee so whatever decision or solution they need to take, they have to do it fast! But they didnt bother and kept arguing that I have to pay the rest of the money! I asked them to call the Manager-in-charge and they said he is not there. I said ok give me his number. They said they cannot give his number but they took my number and name - how very professional!
This is honestly not the kind of service I expect from Adnoc!
