AES Indiana I have been an IPL customer for several years and have never had issues paying my bills and have always elected to have auto payments

I have been an IPL customer for several years and have never had issues paying my bills and have always elected to have auto payments.. IPL was recently purchased by AES-indiana. Right after I moved to a different home. I set up my normal Auto pay and first set it to $100 (I've never had to make a limit before) then to $150 and so on, never have I had to do this before and so I would assume my bills were auto paid. But they were not, I would see when I got a *** in the mail it was scheduled for disconnect and pay it. This happened a few times and like I mentioned tried to correct my auto pay but since my bills were so out of wack at this point it never worked out. I am a single mom, who is doing the best I can during a pandemic, missing work frequently due to kids exposures, covid like illnesses and even covid. Aes states they sent out a disconnect notice but I did not get it until AFTER they disconnected (mail due to pandemic has been late many times) I immediately called paid and had it turned on. To my surprise Aes charged me *** dollar fee to reconnect and then another 260 deposit. Now my *** is nearly $500. When it should be $111. They didn't warn me or even tell me when I called to have reconnected. Just bam.. pay it. In the last 30 days I will have had to pay over $800 in electric alone and I'm already struggling. I've tried to reach out to customer service online but they state I have to call and won't help me via email. The business hours are my work hours, so they are asking me to take more time off to get this situation resolved or get help. Or disconnect again for failure to pay. This is a basic necessity and shouldn't be charging huge fees like this without notice especially during a global pandemic. AES should be helping families not burdening them more during this time.

AES Indiana For several weeks I have been in contact with the customer service department for AES regarding my usage report

For several weeks I have been in contact with the customer service department for AES regarding my usage report. I have noticed my usage has doubled, or tripled at times, when comparing to the previous year. I have had not major change in usage so this did not look right. I called and was told to have a maintenance person come to my apartment to check my amps and in the meantime unplug all unnecessary appliances, keep my thermostat at 75degrees and raise when I am not home, run the dishwasher as little as possible, and keep lights off when not in use in order to lower my usage. I have followed all of their recommendations and yet my usage per hour continues to increase. My maintenance team found no areas of concern as well. I had to demand a meter investigation as customer service maintained that my usage *** "looked normal." I called this morning (6/24) after learning that my usage has again increased despite every attempt and then some to follow their directions. I was told there was nothing they could do apart from connecting me to financial assistance. I requested a home energy assessment by AES directly and was told they do not offer to apartment residents as it is consider multi-family. AES is completely dismissing me and seem resistant at investigating further. I previously owned a 3bdrm home and my billing through Duke was never this high in the spring/summer. I am not an idiot. I am a educated woman with a family member who is a lineman for REMC who was baffled at my usage report.In addition to my struggles- my maintenance man that came initially disclosed having similar issues in an apartment he doesn't even live in- it is empty. He also reported numerous residents requesting similar assessments. Something is wrong with this situation and I have no clue where else to turn to have my voice heard.
