Someone hacked into my email and am unable to get any resolution from the company. The account was created over 15 years ago with a landline that I have since stopped using many years ago. I have made at least 4 calls to aol with no resolution or even care what so ever from their staff. They use a security of the name on the account which obviously was changed but they could care less again and just can't seem to grasp the concept into this issue.
Desired outcome: want the email closed immediately and aol responsible for any fraudulent handlings including any changes to my bank accounts
Have had a verizon.net email account for moer than 25 years and went thru the iterations of aol and yahoo and now experiencing their issues with Microsoft outlook. It will not connect and they want to be paid to make it work ($39.00 Per month). Their support is in the Philippines and English is somewhat of an issue. What a way to exist in the US. Can anyone suggest a solution short of doing away with AOL and their email. It works fine with Google gmailify if you know the double secret work around.
Desired outcome: Make it work
Emails are not sending
Date: 12/30/2021
AOL Customer Support Team Number: 1800.827.6364
Description: Called the AOL Customer Support Team number regarding emails not sending. The representative Ken kept ignoring questions and request. Had to repeat request and statements a three plus times for Ken to understand. Therefore, I asked for a supervisor ( three plus times) but had to wait on hold for 50+mins for a supervisor named Ella/ Eleazar. This supervisor also ignored my questions and could not assist. Eleazar response to my question asking why the 50min hold for a supervisor was "What is your concern". I asked for Eleazar manager name and was told "the information is internal only". Supervisor Eleazar also advised "I respect whatever". AOL is horrible and there's no need to continue to use their service.
Desirable resolution: AOL should send our emails in a timely manner. The Outbox folder is only viewable on the AOL app but not the desktop online version? This make no sense as to why AOL is not sending emails in 2021. The wait time for a supervisor should be less than ten mins. Every response from Ken was "I don't know". How do you not know how many supervisors that work for your department?
Desired outcome: AOL should send our emails in a timely manner. The Outbox folder should be viewable on the desktop online version. The wait time for a supervisor needs to be under 10mins. The supervisor should be able to help users.
Locked out of on-line account login
My AOL mail account was terminated 12/30/2021 without notice. I called their 800 customer service number which could only escalate the issue. The escalation department called me back and said there was nothing they could do because they could not adequately verify that I am the account holder. Apparently with AOL the is no solution.

Desired outcome: Reinstate my AOL mail account
I was locked out of my account by following the instructions of two Philippine agents and their highest ranking supervisor by attempting to sign in. Their incompetence and apologetic responses of unfortunately and I'm sorry was as though it was a robotic statement. I was told to wait 24hours before attempting to login again. Their system is faulty and out of sync with the digital secured internet.
Service and Product
AOL changed and locked me out of the account abruptly September 16, 2021. This was not a change on my end - as I had not (in years) attempted to login to my aol account directly, everything is forwarded to gmail. Now, fast forward after they have locked my account - the password I have they are saying is incorrect (it isn't as I write the passwords down) and it will not allow a reset or sending to a backup email. Called AOL support the free version - and was still transferred to the paid version service. They would not reset a password unless I sign up for a $10 subscription plan. How does a company with so much history end up treating customers this way that have had AOL accounts since its inception. How after all of this time is the only way to re-gain access to my account through paying $10 - what the heck, all support and appreciation for this platform ... lost. Horrible customer service, not just the wait time, and complete ineptitude - just horrible business practice. Reset customers password, lock the account so it can't be recovered, then charge to reset password. Just wow.
Desired outcome: Ability to reset password
Censored
I was censored without notice. No warning or anything but you manage to charge me each month. Reinstate me.

to me
I have been monitoring you for years, you never stop astounding me by your love for intimate delight.
U are a real superman of sexual stimulation)
You don't look like an ugly person who is unable to find a girl, but still you do abhorrent stuff.
I bet, there are a lot of similar men like you, but come on, it is not for me to blame humans for their private life.
I'm confident this is about ur hand and u really love it so much.
When u go about something like this, you have to stick up ur web camera.
So that you understand the magnitude of the problem, I have copied the contacts from ur electronic-mail and I'll send ur video to ur loved ones.
In case you neglect me, within 88 hours ur homemade video will be distributed on the net.
1052 usd, LTC Ld7PqUyrSmwfD3dkySYKVAbXW2osVptcbc is a sensible proposal in this situation, considering ur stalemate. 48 h will be more than sufficient to address my requisitions.
Desired outcome: Remove this usr fom Aol.com
Here is the users email address
Steven Spencer
its a scam, i get those all the time. i know because i have my camera covered by a piece of paper.
also notice what they say "sexual stimulation...contacts from ur electronic-mail and I'll send ur video...send this money to [string]". its obvious right here that its a scam cause the users they send this to are not ones who do that sort of thing. its just a scare tactic. they miss spelled a few words in it also.
if you check their email that they send it by it may look like aol but it could be another address. while AOL can block the one that the perp sent it to you from it might not stop them. the email junk filter is your best option to stopping these creeps.
Posting an opinion and two post asking what was error?
Today at around 0740, I posted a factual statement and questioned the moderator twice on what community guideline that I violated. I was stationed in Washington DC and I can assure the Moderator that the speaker of the house is responsible for the security of the entire Capitol complex.
Also Fox News and Trump, JR are not in the Presidential chain of command.
Jan 6 so called rioters are being denied due process and Discovery of Government Informants in the crowd which be disclosed 45 days before trail which is in the spring of 22.
Desired outcome: What community standards did I violate except the moderators opinion
The only recourse and solution is to lawfare AOL until is ceases to exit as their Moderators deny free speech repeatedly.
I come from a security background and never open unsolicited emails. I mark all of them as spam and delete. However, I am being overwhelmed by spam and phishing attempts as well as commercial email from Southeast Asia. Per AOL's instructions, I mark each email as spam and delete it. I also report it to a site called [protected]@aol.com. I have attempted to contact AOL [protected]) only to be asked to pay for tech support.
Desired outcome: Enable me to report the phishing emails and the spam.
AOL Desk Top Gold
My screen name is [protected]@aol.com about a month ago my posts on AOL stories are all blocked. WHY? I did not violate AOL guidelines. I would like to know why I was suspended from posting.
Desired outcome: Restore my posting privileges.
making comment on articles by AOL
Recently every time a post of comment AOl rejects what I am posting. For example The article "Hillary Clinton predicts Trump running again in 2024, calling it a ‘make-or-break point'
My comment was : I would not support Clinton for any government office and this was rejected by AOL
Yesterday there was a article about a soccer player flooring a fan that ran on the field and the game had to be stopped. The REF give her a yellow card.
My comment was :I would take a yellow card for that. Some people must have there 15 mins of fame. It messes up the game waiting for security to clear them off the field
Desired outcome: Restore my ability to post.
Please restore my ability to comment and read comments on aol.Thank you.
AOL Comments on 'AOL Today'
Dear sirs
Having been with AOL since the 90s, all of a sudden, I cannot seem to post a comment that stays on 'AOL Today'. Sometimes it is visible, but it rather appears that nobody else can. I can select the REPLY Box, type a reply and it appears. Later on, it disappears. Also, I do not receive any 'Thumbs up' or 'Thumbs down' Feedback from my posts.
I have requested that you help me fix this issue many times, and so far your response has been totally unsatisfactory. Surely this must be a quick fix?
When I see my name next to a Post...when the actually stay there, I get a Circle and a small green dot in it. Why is this. If you hover over another poster's name, it comes up with how many posts they have made. With me, nothing at all appears. Please will you fix this for me for once and for all.
Thankyou
Desired outcome: The ability to RECEIVE Feedback and post comments.
Total censorship on all accounts since summer 2021
After 26 years as one of the Original AOL account Holders, and a US small business owner, I am finding I am completely unable to post any type response or reply on any AOL news articles. ONLY allowed to post a thumbs-up or thumbs-down to them.
We have called several times to no avail, after long wait times to get someone, and always told there is nothing wrong with my account. Initially it started with my Main Screename of 26 years and noticed this occurring. The Business name was working fine. Now as of last couple weeks, even the Business Screenname posts are rejected immediately.
Anytime I try to post even a single letter, within say 10 seconds I get a "rejected" warning and my post goes shaded?
What is going on here with AOL? This is NOT right.
They seem to be a contradiction to their monicker "American Online" after all these years, and now becoming like Other online services who seem to be trying to control and censor anyone who is not for a socialist/communist agenda for the United States.
Desired outcome: STOP censoring every post I try to make on the news pages.
Blame OpenWeb service aol hooked up with as their comment service. OpenWeb (or more appropriately ClosedWeb as you have experienced) has a leftist agenda and blocks any they identify as right. OpenWeb has posted on their website they have a 'global agenda' and those services that want to use them have to let them censor as they see fit.

JUST RECEIVED THIS MESSAGE FROM AOL!

Hello,
My name is Greg and I work on the AOL Concierge team, a small internal AOL support team that represents the highest available level of AOL Customer Care. I am reaching out to you regarding a case we received where you state you would like to cancel paid services. I would like to thank you for reaching out and allowing us to review your concern.
After reviewing your request I see the 2 paid services (SafeCentral and System Mechanic) have both been cancelled so you will no longer be billed for those services. When you contact our support, before any adjustments are made to the account, we must verify ownership. To do that, we need to use the information you provided on the account. If you are unable to verify ownership with a smartphone, I recommend using an alternate email address we can send our verification code to.
If you have any other questions please do not hesitate to contact me back.
Regards,
Greg

Aol Commenting Censorship
My comments are being censored. i never used any profanity. I have been with them for 26 years and they still have no problem taking my money each month. I am not a Conservative by the way. No warning or notice from them but I do get ads to buy things from them when i try to get a response. it has been 2 weeks and every comment is rejected. You give no proof, no warning or no temporary suspension. You hide behind your cowardly approach to deleting the ability to comment.
Desired outcome: To Be reinstated to the comments.
It really isn't AOL doing the censoring, but the leftist comment service they are using called OpenWeb (more appropriately ClosedWeb). OpenWeb has a 'global agenda' printed on their website saying that they will be the ones controlling dialogue and that any service using them has to agree. Their dialogue when examined is totally leftist and sees any other as violators of community guidelines and they will put you on their censored lists, including your ip, so you can no longer participate in any place that uses their commenting software, and crying out to AOL, Yahoo, etc that use these communistic service, will have no impact. Censorship IS here because American companies as these have handed the reigns over to a communist comment moderation company and are happy to participate in being responsible for removing free speech in America. Only recourse is to stop doing business with their mother companies as Verizon, etc, if that is how they treat fellow citizens.
I too have been CENSORED and SILENCED by AOL. I am an older person who has been with AOL for over 25 years, and AOL Never seemed to have a problem with me in all those years! I haven't changed...I'm STILL the same person I was 25 years ago. The way I speak and talk and write has NOT changed. Yet I still see AOL ignoring hateful comments online; including one guy who used letters from filthy words about women as His USERNAME, and made horrible comments about women. Yet AOL Never removed a single one of his comments; which means AOL DIDN'T have a problem with that? I, had to remove those disgusting comments, since AOL didn't! Please explain to me why, without rhyme, reason, or warning, You took away a lifeline from me. I am an older person with early stage dementia, who REALLY, TRULY needed this, to help me engage with other people while I still can.
Sorry this happened to you also, but it isn't AOL censoring you but OpenWeb which runs the comment software AOL started using. You will find at the bottom of the comments OpenWeb name there, as OpenWeb provides and moderates the commenting service. OpenWeb is leftist, has a printed agenda on their website, they call a 'global agenda' where they aim to be the ones controlling and deciding what can be said on the Internet, and that agenda is anti-right, and loves the left. Once they identify you as a conservative of any kind, perhaps even based on your age, as I am seeing many seniors complaining of getting censored, kept from commenting using OpenWeb tools not just on AOL, but also Yahoo, which OpenWeb would get from your account profile. Could be they are just blocking all older accounts to silence the audience most likely to be conservative. Of course this is outrageous. But don't expect AOL or Yahoo to care. Best that can be done is to boycott Verizon now running Yahoo and/or AOL, which Verizon originally purchased AOL in 2015 for $4.4 billion, and acquired Yahoo in 2017 for $4.5 billion. Verizon is responsible for allowing OpenWeb to operate on AOL & Yahoo and inflict censorship on loyal older Americans who helped these companies grow. Use AT&T instead or comcast, since it is obvious that Verizon cares less about freedom of speech and welcomes a communistic moderation company to control all dialogue to far leftest. To express yourself, go watch YouTube news videos where the comment section is run by YouTube and NOT OpenWeb. Stay away from any news outlet that uses OpenWeb. Keep in mind that it is OpenWeb, as once your ip is identified it is put into OpenWeb's database and you are blocked in all places they control moderating software that is marked by their name OpenWeb seen at the comment sections page. Maybe we will get America back, but don't hold your breath, just be informed the problem is OpenWeb.
Same exact thing happening to me after 26 years on my main screenname and my business screenname...

Commentary on news stories
Aol's disgusting, they're far worse than a communist regime, I haven't cussed or used offensive language, yet they ban me from commenting on their stories, why? Because they censor truth and conservative views, isn't that a violation of free speech? Boycott aol by not buying from their sponsors and advertisers, it's an ongoing problem for many conservatives, i'll handle the resolution myself thanks
I have the exact same problem. Been with AOL for over 25 years, and they NEVER had a problem with me in all those years. But now, I'm suddenly banned? As an older person, that site gave me a chance to interact with other people. I Never used bad words, but others did; and somehow THEY got away with it! There was a guy on the site using parts of dirty words as his User Name, which he tried to disguise by using symbols under and over his name to try to fool AOL; and THEY did nothing about HIM! He also spewed hateful comments about women! I was the one who had to keep removing his comments, because AOL's people didn't see them or understand them, or worse yet, maybe they agreed with his comments. Totally NOT okay. That was their job to do...NOT mine! AOL took away my Right to Free Speech, for no good reason. I always commented on Trump stories, but NEVER used bad language. I think AOL is in Trump's camp; and that's why I was removed. SO UNFAIR! This was a lifeline for me; and THEY took it away from me for no good reason!
They have become a DISGRACE to their monicker "American", as I am an original account holder for over 26 years and have had same thing happen to me now...
False ticklers for your headline stories
On todays many pages of stories is one about Aaron Rodgers wife.
You click on dozens of pictures but not one of Arron or his wife.. This type of
stuff happens all the time. Does no one proof read their story? This is typical of AOL. Also, on every single story that requires you to click to
the next page, the continue button jumps around and you get an advertisement. Way too many advertisements for what I am paying monthly. This is BS and please stop or I will cancel my account. Thank you, Gary
Desired outcome: Do whats right
Internet service
I have waited on hold for over 2 hours; Then when I finally got to talk to someone they hung up on me after another 2 hours. Horrible company
Desired outcome: Fix my internet
News feed comment section
AOL instantly rejects all of my comments as violating community standards. I have never posted a comment which insults, contains vulgarity, or is anyway threatening. I am a conservative and most of their news is extremely left wing so I provide a conservative perspective in order get others to think and debate. It stated with them preventing me from responding to peoples replies to my posts by hiding them so I would have to look through hundreds of comments to find them and now they just outright reject everything I post. I know they are a private company but they enjoy many [protections from Section 230 and if they are going to be a publisher then those protections should be taken away.
Desired outcome: Free speech on the platform
Correct, and I have been with them over 26 years experiencing same thing for months now! Sad too, I come from long military family, Uncle buried at Normandy even, younger brother a Colonel in Pentagon with 39 years' service, and this is what we get from "American" Online as a member today? Totally disgusting !
100% correct, they block all conservative and truthful comments, hurt them in the wallet by boycotting their sponsors and advertisers, it's a violation of the 1st amendment, class action lawsuit coming
