I was an existing customer of Art Brokerage Inc and a major art and sports art collector. I submitted a request to list a very expensive original artwork by a renowned sports artist of the year that was signed by Derek Jeter. This was an exclusive piece produced in 2000 that had a gigantic autograph of the Yankee captain at the beginning of his career. Art Brokerage and I had a significant disagreement about the value of the piece. They asked me why I believed it was worth more than they did and I wrote them a detailed explanation of my thoughts. After going back & forth they could have just declined to accept the piece which I told them would have been okay. However, after writing a long explanation to a manager the owner intercepted the email and wrote in a chain to the representative that she thought I would not see a note stating "you deal with this As_hole"! I find this to be reprehensible conduct on the part of the owner. Just because I did not agree with the pricing, for the owner to launch a libelous attack is both outrageous and disgusting. I would NEVER DO BUSINESS with this company again and immediately cancelled my other listing. STAY AWAY!
Recommendation: STAY AWAY RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN
Thank you for your response. Of course I wrote to the company but naturally there has been no response.
But what would you expect from back stabbers who act like this anyway?
What an absolutely disgraceful way to treat a customer. You've invested a lot in your collection, and you deserve to be treated with respect, not insulted behind your back. You need to take this directly to the top and let them know how unacceptable this behavior is. Make sure the owner knows you won't tolerate being treated this way. Share your experience publicly if necessary to make them understand the consequences of their actions. Stand your ground and demand the respect you deserve. Don't let them get away with this kind of unprofessional conduct.
