Hi,
This is regarding a patient Kirthana V who was admitted to the emergency ward in Aster Hospital in the above mentioned address on the 16th Of November, 2019. She was dragonized with dengue and due to heavy menstrual flow her hemoglobin was low.
Also the platlet count was low however as per the blood report that we received from Aster it was as low as 12000/cumm. The doctor who was taking a look at her had asked us to get her admitted to the ICU and start treatment else will be very serious condition. However due to our financial constraint we discharged her after 3hours in emergency and took her to another hospital. When we were leaving aster, we also collected the extra blood sample that was withdrawn so that we can reuse the same for further testing in the other hospital (as already the patient was low on blood).
When this blood sample was tested in the second hospital, the platelet count was no where close to as reported in Aster, it was much higher and very much in the safe zone and did not require an ICU admission atleast. This is very ridiculous and irresponsible on behalf of Aster to have firstly reported an incorrect platelet count and secondly recommended ICU admission which if done could have been a heavy financial burden in addition to physical and mental trauma. Did not expect this one bit from a hospital like Aster, and above all we were asked to pay a bill of more than Rs 7000/- for this 3 hours of emergency admission. This is a big blow to the reputation that Aster has set and if reported on social platforms can create a great issue. I have attached the reports for this, would ask you to atleast compensate for this by means of the huge bill paid that we have paid and advice to never repeat such behavior which is least accepted in the medical field. I would definitely never recommend Aster to anyone else.
Regards,
Selvi (the patients sister)
