Banfield sucks you in to Wellness Plan with "low monthly payments and big discounts". Once they hook you, you can't get away. They call you for the "last" checkup for first year. They schedule the appointment a few days after the last day of contract. Now you are hooked for another year or pay the way over charge for the "last" visit of the first year. What a rip off!
Also, took a stray cat that could hardly walk due to a large Sore on its paw. The vet took the cat out of the exam room. I could hear the cat screaming the entire time it was gone. When the vet brought the cat back in, to my horror, the sore had been cut off leaving a gapping wound. No anesthetic. IF YOU LOVE YOUR PET, STAY AWAY FROM BANFIELD. All they want is your money.
A lot of pets that get vaccinations here develop reactions. There are numerous pets this happens to. And although this can happen anywhere, it happens here VERY often.
Please stare clear of this place!
Saying it happens at Banfield "very often" doesn't provide any real insight. Vaccine reactions are more common with multiple vaccinations given at one time, but maybe it is the brand of vaccine they use. Just recently, the company has been receiving new vaccine combinations. They are giving multiple vaccines within one injection to decrease vaccine reactions. Not to mention, Banfield doesn't make their own vaccines, so how is it their fault? Their vaccines are made by Fort Dodge.
Agreed. You can hardly blame a hospital for a vaccine reaction. Its more a pets genetic ability to deal with the vaccine than the hand that administered it. If there are more reactions at a certain location maybe its because of the number of pets that are vaccinated, or the type of pets vaccinated.
I was told my cat has cancer by a Banfield Vet. He did not get a biopsy, just a diagnosis by sigt and feeling. His lump is getting larger and swollen. I feel badly for him. I was given a report where one vet indicated he had a good heart. The next visit the paper indicated a heart murmur by another vet.
Catmeow...im sorry you are getting inconsistant info from different docs. Did they explain to you that some murmurs come and go and that there are different degrees? Some cant be heard each time or can only be heard in certain places. It also can depend on your kitty if he is purring or breathing quickly. As for having cancer...if you would like a biopsy performed i know few vets banfield or otherwise who would tell you no. Ask for an estimate. No vet is going to perform one for free but if you want to know. cats generally do not grow benign tumors and depending on where it is it could be more or less serious or treatable.
Banfield is a horrible veterinarian practice! There only agenda is making money, and most of their employees could give a rat's ### about the health and welfare of your pet. Banfield is a horrible and should be shut down.
