I am 54yrs old, I have been going to money mart and using the cheque cashing service for decades. I have cashed cheques ranging from 25.00 to 12000.00 dollars.A person would think that after all these years, there would be a bond of trust between me and money mart by now! I went in there today to cash a personal cheque that my Dad gave me as a Christmas gift for 5000.00 dollars. like I said before, I have cashed cheques from family for decades ranging from 25.00 to 12000.00 dollars. The teller refused to even phone and check for funds availability or phone my Dad for confirmation.She offered to give me 100.00 dollars and the rest in a week or two.I could not believe how lazy to even make a couple of phone calls like they have always done for me.It goes to show that a customer can use this money mart service for decades and money mart will not use the built up good credit over the years at all.Trust and past experience means nothing to money mart.I have gave up alot of money to money mart over all these decades.After I left that particular money mart address, I thought I would try another money mart location, went in and handed them my cheque, the teller made a call to my Dad to confirm the cheque, than looked at my record for past cheques, saw everything was good and cashed the 5000.00 dollar cheque.(Wow!) so what was wrong with the first location I went to? That is the location and employers I am complaining about! Why did they cause so much stress and lack of trust for me by not judging me by my past experience over the decades of service I have given them? and why was there no problems when I went to the second location?I am very angry with this location that was to lazy to make a few checks!7912, 118 avenue, edmonton, alberta is the location I am complaining about!
