Canadian Tire - Supercycle mountain bike

I purchased a Supercycle mountain bike from the Canadian Tire on 65 Pinebush Rd in Cambridge, On. The bike was intended to get me to and from work. The first time I rode it, the pedals crank became so loose I almost veered into traffic and had a serious accident. I tightened it up when I got to work and thought it was fine, on the way home the whole thing fell off and I had a rather nasty "wipe out". I've communicated with the store several times and they say they'll give me store credit or an exchange as this is the policy. I told them that all I wanted was the money back that I had spent on that purchase, and they say they cannot do that. I don't want an exchange or store credit, I would like my money back. Not to be rude but because of this incident I've missed 2 days work, I've had some unpleasant pain as a result of the incident and I don't want a replacement or credit as to be perfectly honest I've lost faith in the products that are sold there. I called the corporate offices and was told I was going to be transferred and then was hung up on. I feel like I've been dismissed and I'm not happy to say the least. I'm not asking for anything extra for all the hassle and discomfort I've experienced, I just want the money that I paid back as the product was clearly either defective or assembled in a very careless and inattentive way. My Name is Michael Wellman and you can reach me at [protected]. I look forward to hearing from you and hope we can bring this to a satisfactory conclusion, Thank you for your time. The order # was [protected]

Desired outcome: I just want the money that I paid for this product refunded to me

Canadian Tire - automotive

My daughter Abbie Quigley went in because she thought her car battery was dead. They looked at her car said it was the battery without even checking the battery and put in a new one costing her $250 and 100 of that was to put the battery in which literally takes 5 minutes, I'm not sure who you can charge that when it's more then the labour charges but anyway you did. So the next day her car wont start because low and be-hold it's not the battery so now she is out $250 and had to get her car towed again to the shop and it's the alternator. I am so tired of this auto shop doing this to people. She is a student who can't afford to be ripped of by a multi million dollar company and it's shameful. We will never be stepping foot in another Canadian tired store and I will be passing this on to other so they know how dis--honest this place is. Last time I took my car there in Dec it was the same thing nothing but dis-honesty. So now she is out the 250 for the battery and another 100 for the second tow because someone in that shop gave her a battery and that was not the problem. So upset by this store and will be posting about this so other can stop going.

Canadian Tire - auto centre

I took my car in for the new OBD test which should have been a quick in and out - my car passed all tests 10 months ago but my drive clean had expired by my plate renewal date so it had to get updated. It should take about 10 minutes and my keys were taken right away when I got in.

After an hour and a half of waiting for a simple computer plug to be plugged into my car, I was called in and told my battery had died while it was being plugged in - one plug that should take no more than 3 minutes to get in somehow supposedly drained my battery of all power. What were they doing with my car this whole time?

I was told that having the headlights and dome lights on would do that if the battery was old, yet my car is only ten years old and the battery is an upgraded one, no more than 4 years. The car starts without problems in the morning and had no trouble after parking it above ground for two weeks in December while on vacation. Yet I'm supposed to believe that 2 minutes of my door being open killed it.

So the mechanic said he boosted the car, then tried the drive clean diagnostic. Well, it didn't work because he boosted my car which resets all computers and monitors, meaning there was no data for it to diagnose. There is no way he did not know this yet chose to run the test anyway, after sabotaging my vehicle. Not to mention that the printout says TEST ABORTED - TEST RESULT INVALID, as if they had unplugged it halfway through instead of it actually having failed.

The front desk worker who claimed the car died under the mechanic's care then went on to make me pay for the test, even though they messed it up (it says on the work order that the car was not ready - because they boosted it for no reason!) and told me to buy a new battery, drive around for a day, and test again. When I got my paperwork, it said that they took my car in at 3:19PM, ran the test at 3:28PM but then did not give it back to me until 4:14PM. What did they do for 44minutes while I was waiting for it? Now I am expected to go back and pay for a new test. There is no way I will go to Canadian Tire again. Every time I use their auto service, I have the wool pulled over my eyes somehow. Never again - the convenience of closeness is not worth the hassle. Plus, I do not want to give my money to people like this.
