Conduent Education Services / ACS Education Lying Account Workers

ACS has not been unfriendly to me. The contrary has been my issue. I recently experienced a con job. A friendly worker promised that she had just negotiated a truly income-sensitive payment plan for me and told me to go ahead and send in payments. I got intimidating letters from the lender! When I called back to clear things up, there was NO record of the supposed agreement, NO record of ALL the faxes I'd exchanged back and forth with this girl.

I had been lied to, and nobody is accountable.
I thought I was insane.
Later I heard NPR and New York Times reports of just such tactics. I had not imagined it. ACS pulled this on me.

At this time I am still trying to get a truly income-sensitive payment plan. My experience with student loan administrators is that they would rather you continue racking up rather than to allow you even ten dollars less so as to meet a truly income-sensitive level so a student can repay their loans.

Obama's supposed legislation to bring relief is not going to do so. He has left these sharks firmly in control of the administration of the loans, so these experiences will continue to happen to borrowers.

Conduent Education Services / ACS Education Loses Affidavit Forms/Identity Theft

ACS is a scam syndicate and a disorganized institution of harassers. I'm a victim of identity theft which took place through a US BANK via the internet four years ago. Someone in September of 2006 somehow got my SSN, a past address and phone number of mine, my full name, my parents name, and was able to take out a 5500 dollar loan in my name with that info alone. They didn't even have to forge my signature! And this fraudulently accepted loan went undiscovered until early 2009! ACS bought that loan from the US Bank a year and a half ago, and have been sending me bills ever since. As of today, I've had to request my THIRD fraudulent loan affidavit form to prove I do NOT owe them or anyone else that money, and ACS claims the first form I filled out never made it back to them. The second form I requested (after finding out MONTHS after sending the first affidavit back to them) was never sent it to me! So, I figured for the last eight or so months that they must have found my original affidavit form, and were investigating the fraud. But I was wrong to assume that.

I feel as though ACS doesn't want to (or won't) admit they bought a loan from a bank stupid enough to give away money to any 'ol crook with a stolen SSN and the dexterity in their hands to click on an "I agree that I am who I claim to be" e-signiture. It's sad, but true. Just the click of a button on US Bank's online master promissory note web page, and you can claim to be ANYONE. So I get the feeling I'll never see this third affidavit form I requested because ACS doesn't want to deal with my problem, and this identity theft will NEVER be solved. Hell, the original culprit will probably get away with the whole thing even if I do prove my case (assuming ACS actually throws me a bone here.) Meanwhile, the ACS loan sharks will continue to harass me for the money that I don't owe, all because they're too ###ed or purposefully trying to lose paperwork... especially their affidavit forms that could make them forfeit their precious Interest amount! I refuse to pay for a loan I never took out. I refuse even more to pay Interest on it. But at the same time, I'm tired of this run-around, and might just stop communication with them, never pay a cent, and hope it just disappears.

Conduent Education Services / ACS Education scam

Called me 10 times in the last 2 days. They say they are from

ACS Consolidation Service, they are not. ACS is for student

loans. They probably told me this because they ran my SS# and

information and thought I would believe that they were

legitimate. When you ask them a question they just keep reading

a script. They do not speak english very well. I asked for a

phone number, their address, and their names. They gave me some

very generic english names like Danny Johnson and Phillip Brown

even though they speak with very heavy eastern accents. They

would not give me a specific address, they just said they were

from NY. A supervisor got on the phone and said when I lived at

my old address I had taken out a loan on the internet. He began

repeating my full SS# and references that I had put down. I

never had taken out a loan on the internet but I had applied for

one. Apparently my information is not secure and now some scam

artist has my personal info. Learn from my mistake- don't ever

put yourself in this position, never give out your personal

information on the internet even if you are in dire straights as

I was. These people won't stop and now I have to worry about

identity theft as well.

What the heck is up with acs! I am paying my bank, the federal government and acs because they have consistently harassed me and I haven't completed my degree yet. They put a black mark on my credit report which I have worked hard to finally get straight even though I continue to make monthly payments to them because my banker doesn't know what the problem is. Please, can someone tell me what to do?!

ACS goes by various names including NCS, CCS, Loan Point, Bernstein and Associates, Brown and Associates, etc. They are 100% scam artists. Do not give them any information or any money at all, no matter what they tell you. They may go by another name other than those listed. Basically if they mention: bad check, defrauding a financial institution, payday loan, threaten to come to your home/employer, advise you that you will be served a summons or tell you that you will be arrested - these are all of their tactics.
File a complaint with the FBI, FTC and Attorney General (for what state you live in). These ### will call from different numbers that are not traceable (877 numbers usually). Somehow they are able to tap into valid numbers in your local area and use those lines to place the call. They will use generic names such as Johnson, Thompson, Smith, Parker, etc. Ask them for their information (address, website, fax number etc.). They will refuse to send you any information proving your debt (other than a fake email). Please don't give them any info and file the reports mentioned above. They need to be stopped!

The above-mentioned website offers no information and every hyperlink sends you in a circle with no access to contact persons or even the ability to apply for an loan. I hung up. don't expect that to be the end of this harassment but will continue to collect more data than they give with each call.

Conduent Education Services / ACS Education Forclosure? Inform yourself before you make a decision...

It is not so simple to fight a bank. The forensic audit co. and real state lawyers are in business to make money, and one has to be very careful because one size doesn't fit all. And before one can hire such organizations, should read their "Deed of Trust", the Note and the law in the state they reside.

The bank can bring an army of well paid lawyers. The bank have resources that the homeowners don't . Many of homeowners are in many different states with different laws. In many states, the Promissory Note is not secured by a Deed of Trust, the notes are considered promises to pay and entitles the Lender to foreclose based on non-performance on the note. In Lien Theory States the Lender has a lien on the property which has a non-judicial foreclosure method. Most of all lenders use this process to force foreclosure. There is no need to produce the note.

In Lien Theory States The Deed of Trust is a recorded document not The Note. The Deed of Trust is notice that the lender has the legal right to foreclose should the borrower fail to meet the terms of the mortgage contract. I have heard of the Note issue where lawyers say such things. They may be true in certain states or under a certain set of circumstances, but not in states where the borrower gets the Deed to the property at closing and the Lender gets a Note secured by a Deed of Trust, which carries the authority to force foreclosure.

Actually, if the loan is securitized is not even a loan transaction at all, its a brokered investment and thus in violation of many SEC laws. More importantly its a violation of Truth in Lending laws, because im most cases the real lender was never disclosed to the borrower at the time he signed the loan.
These notes are not really lost, they are housed with an entity called a Document Custodian, and this entity is part of the chain of ownership that goes into a Securitized Mortgage backed security Trust. The real problem of it all is when a "lender" is not the lender but a servicing company for the securities Mortgage backed Trusts who never took possession of the NOTE. Even if they claim they lost the Note, they still must prove to the court that they have a lawful right to hold the note. The notes must be negotiated per UCC laws and they cannot be assigned like a mortgage at the courthouse.
The servicing companies are playing games of confusion with the Courts. The Courts are so backed up that only a homeowner or an attorney with the knowledge can point out the legal arguments. Once one sue the servicing co., doesn't have to do or say anything in court because the burden of proof is on the bank.

Challenge everything if you are being foreclosed on! Don't walk away, fight and stay!
The goal is not a free house. The goal is learning the identity of the creditor, tracing the documents, and getting a FULL accounting of all financial transactions affecting the specific loan that is in issue.

Have called r/t getting my form to get my taxes done however am told I need to go to a site to get the info however all the information I have for the site keeps telling me that I have incorrect information and will not let me get needed information----ALL I WANT IS A FORM FROM YOU TO GET MY TAXES DONE---just send me one--never had a problem before but now that my loan is all paid off you are giving me problems---WHY?

then you need to call the the public information and they can see what's the problem. [protected]. and besides the 1098e, which are used for tax purposes cannot be system generated by a representative until late Feb. it's not that they want to give you a hard time. it's just something that's out of their hands

Conduent Education Services / ACS Education DO NOT GIVE YOUR SSN

Recieved an email from www.acs-education.com stating they were my student loan lender and in order to recieve my student loan statements I have to put in my SSN to register and view my statements online. I am a total fool..that was not my lender. I called my lender and informed them of the scam and they found a number for acs-education I should try. I tried it and it does not work! I get no live person on the phone just some phone ansering service.

The $340 interest on recent forbearance, while I continued paying, brought back my old feeling of being manipulated, and my new feeling of being robbed. PattyGaalG

Gotta love the confusion. I had the same problems about ACS and here's what happened. I had a loan with Wells Fargo; the loan was passed on dozens of times before it ended up with ACS (the government is not required to inform you when your loan is sold to another company or person). After numerous calls to ACS, Wells Fargo, and my school I had no answers and had refused to pay until I understood. Finally I asked for the supervisor when I called Wells Fargo and they told me of a government number that will explain it all to me and give me a detailed list of all the current loans that are out on me and who currently owns them. ACS did in fact own mine. I felt better knowing that there is some form of record of whom I am paying and why. I was furious that my loaner (Wells Fargo) and the guarantor (who was stated on my first official loan paperwork back in the day) were not required to tell me when they sold me. The other thing that pissed me off was that once they sold me they lose record of me all together; so when I was calling and asking questions they HAD NO ANSWERS! I regrettably lost the number I called to receive the helpful information, but if it helps there is also a government organization (your school's business office/financial aid office should know about this) that will look into your concerns for free.

Its just a cluster of confusion and most of the companies' phone operators do not understand the loan processes either. Always ask for a supervisor and be truthful when their garble doesn't make sense. I would still be in hot water if I didn't play dumb and have them reiterate it all for me and took down names of who I talked to.

I recently started receiving emails from this outfit telling me that a forbearance had been applied to my student loan with them. First off, I have been out of college for 15 years hand my college was paid for. I got an MBA later than my company paid for. I have one item of outstanding debt that is from an old credit card.

Why am I receiving these emails? I owe no one anything.

ACS began sending me statements awhile back, claiming that I owed them money. The amount was $2, 037 which was the exact amount I owed on my student loan after dropping out of college. I called them to inquire about the loan, they could only tell me that it was from my university. As I had been paying my loan off along (and had three payments left until it was completely paid off at the time) I panicked. I called the company that was handling my loan and they said that I should contact the school, but they had the only loan I had taken for school as far as they knew, and that it was not split up. This company had my original student ID number, which ACS would not give to me.
I contacted the school, they confirmed that I only had one loan, and that they did not charge me any other amount that ACS would have. They suggested I find someone to look over my credit (since I don't know how to read credit scores...) and find out if this company was reporting to a credit agency, and if it was a legitimate loan. I have no idea who to call for this kind of help. I have no family that could help me read my credit score.
I called them back stating that I believed it was a fraudulent debt and threated to contact the FTC and my local congressman about them harassing me. I told them not to call me or send me anything again.
I have no idea what to do now...

You might be in the wrong website. I had my student loans with sallie mae and they sold the loans to acs education. after much research i found the correct website which is https://www.ed-servicing.com/ED/Jsp/general/home.jsp

at first i always went to that one website acs-education.com but the one i put is the correct one. good luck

Conduent Education Services / ACS Education Preditory Lending Practices

I am new to having ACS as a servicing agent for my student loans. Over the past 8 years I have been making regular automatically deducted student loan payments to Panhandle Plains Student Loan Center in Canyon, Texas. As of 18 Sept. 2009, ACS is taking over the servicing of my loan. I did not receive notification of this transfer from either PPSLC or ACS. Furthermore, ACS instituted a policy on all loans from ACS to not start automatic deductions for accounts identified as being "pre-paid", i.e. I've been paying more than my minimum payment for years and my next due date is not until sometime in 2011. I believe this is a covert action on the part of ACS to put people into non-payment status in an attempt to garner more profit for themselves in interest charges and late fees at the expense of college graduates just starting their careers. My experience with ACS is only 36 hours long at this point and I'm already asking around to find out which Federal agency has oversight responsibility for the companies that service guaranteed student loans. My advice to anyone with ACS is to check your account statements regularly and communicate only through certified mail with a return receipt. Obviously this part of the financial sector didn't learn any lessons over the past 12 months and is staffed with crooks and theives.

I've been dealing off and on with ACS for 4 years. Here are some survivor tips. 1) When they ask you to fax something. Fax it everyday for like 10 days straight. It works and I do have an at home fax machine. 2) When you want to pay more than the balance due. Have it ach through your bank. Don't have your bank send a check. I learned the hard way. A check ACS can claim they hadn't received it, when they have it, they can gain more interest before cashing it. I played around with my banking system and once I kept the payment under $850, they sent it electronically (anything more than that prompted a paper check). Now I wanted to send in $8000, so I had to setup 10 payments of different amounts (different by a penny - i.e 800.00, 800.01, 800.02 etc, . to total $8000) to get my bank to not send a check. I guess if you set up a large amount to pay through online bill pay - ACS can request that it get sent in the check form. Also, they changed my account number, when I used the new number a paper check gets sent by my bank I canceled the request and put in my old account number - it was sent ach. Since I wasn't formally notified that the account number has changed, I'm ignoring it for now. I just assume when they send a new payment booklet for next year it will be updated with the new account number. I hope to have the entire loan paid off by 12/31/11. I hope this helps someone out there, because ACS is sneaky and pesty. But we should just up our game too. Also, ach they can't deny they received, with a check- they can deny they received. I would never use their system to pay a bill. They will only pull on your due date - more interest for them.

You should always check any statements you get from student loan companies. If they send you something in the mail about a change and you didn't read it, that's not their fault. It's yours.

After reading the complaints I am almost afraid to even consider retiring. I was trying to find any information on whether or not there is any kind of program at ACS-education that will have a forgiveness clause. After I retire I will be living on a fixed income and the $175.oo a month will just about clean out a large portion of my income. I have been making payments faithfully since I graduation in 1994. Before going with ACS I was with Sallie Mae. Must say they were easlier to deal with. I really need to know where to turn to for help with this problem. Please response.

ACS owes me six thousand dollars and I have gone thru the Department of Education Ombudson (which I found our are employed by contract by ACS). I have sent two hundred pages of documentation to ACS and our loan was bought out by them and consolidated and they did not adhere Check returns from the university. I was unable to get a department but finally got a SR Representative that said she would help me then REFUSED to speak to me and I audited my files as I used to be a professional auditor.

They did not credit all my payments, when I paid my loans off, they held one thousand dollars of credit for one year, then they also did not sent an explanation of the money when they did send it and I am still waiting two years letter with all this documentation.

I have contacted Student Justice Leaugue and was just recently contacted by Huffington News by a reporter that stated that ACS is known for this and some students are suing through the Attorney General Office. I encourage you to contact the Department of Education at once and go from there. You must ask for resolutions department and I was told this after two years and you cannot get them on your own, you have to go thru the Department of Education.

I want my six thousand back and they still are charging me for a loan I don't owe and they were supposed to freeze my accounts while under audit.

Ask them for an internal audit and to present you with documentation. What they did for me is type in on an excel worksheet with no documentation. Good Luck, I am tired of ACS and the point of contacts given by the poster are not working numbers BJ in Texas

My experience with ACS has, so far been, been negative. Repayment of my student loan began on 12/28/09, however, I was expecting to receive a bill but didn't get one. As a result my payment became past due and I had to pay a high late fee. I registered to login on their website but I'm currently having problems logging in. When I contacted customer service, I was met with rudeness and apathy. I was put on hold for about ten minutes and then cut off. I tried calling back but couldn't get through. I contacted ACS by email and recieved an autolmated response and no subsequent response after that. I wanted to make payments online, but due to the problems I've been having with the website, my payments will again be past due again. This really worries me If this is the kind of service I can expect from ACS.

I, too just had my loans transferred from Panhandle Plains Student Loan Center to ACS. I wasn't aware that my Account number had changed so when I sent my check via Bill Pay through Bank of America, I used the old account number that PPSLC used. They now want me to put my SSN on my check as my Account Number? My check for my October 14th payment cleared my bank on October 14th. I received a notice from ACS around the 1st of November stating that my account was past due. I contact my Bill Pay service and they said the check had already cleared. We contacted ACS and they asked for a copy of the cleared check. ONE MONTH LATER AND SIX FAXES later...they still show me past due. We fax and refax and ACS just keeps saying they haven't received the fax and will not open a research effort on the account until they receive the fax. We have spoken to three supervisors, all that give us the same fax number and NOTHING! I'm so frustrated. I have my Transmission Logs from the fax machine showing the time, date & a copy of the first page faxed and I can't get any resolution to this.

My husband & I submitted a IBR (Income-based repayment) application to ACS on July 20, 2009. ACS received the paperwork on 7/27/09. The ACS website states to "allow thrity (30) for processing of the application. It has now been two months (9/21/2009)and the application "is still being processed". I have sent emails to them regarding the issue for the last month. The webiste requests 48-72 hours to respond to emails. The have responded to two of my four emails but they were not within the time period. It took them 7-10 days to respond to the emails they chose to respond to. We have called and talked to a representative only to get the run around. I am not impressed with this company at all! How does a company with such poor customer service grow to be a Fortune 500 company? Ridiculous!

I was with ACS and had many problems dealing with them myself and finally got it all resolved. Today I was sent an email that my loans have been moved to a new servicer, perhaps because ACS is so bad! Hope this helps!

ACS denied my IBR application because they said my loan was in default. However, the two reps I spoke to today in regards to their denial said, a total of 7 times between them(one said it six times) that my loan was NOT in default. I received their denial letter dated 11/5/12. On the same day I received a letter from NYS HESC dated 11/6/12 stating that ACS had requested they purchase my loan and to prevent my loan from going into default, I should contact ACS about the IBR plan! Seriously? Plus, it is clear what they did here! They got my application, and when they got the financial information and saw that my IBR payment would be $0, that's when they decided to request HESC to purchase my loan! That has GOT to be illegal! On top of that, I have no more forbearances to take because I took as much as I could because ACS told me I had used up all my Economic Hardship Deferments, so my only other choice was forbearance. This chick tells me today, I still have 24 months left for Hardship Deferment, but I can't take it because my loan was not current and I had no more forbearance to take! And she tells me that the reason my IBR was denied is because my loan has to be in forbearance to be eligible, but I've used all my forbearances! I used all my forbearances because they said I had no more Hardship deferments, of which the truth is I have 24 months left! Because of their fraudulence and trickery, now my wages are going to be garnished and my tax returns seized, and that is going to leave my family homeless and hungry and that is not an exaggeration. I'm lucky if I have 20 dollars to buy groceries for my 4 kids after I pay my rent and due bills out of every paycheck! This cannot be FAIR! Is this Fair? Someone please help me!

What I do in these situations is record every single phone call I make. All you have to do is notify the rep that the call is being recorded (you dont need their permission and you call tell them in whatever way you want ---- "hey, this call is being recorded but i am sure you knew that") They record all their phone calls but good luck getting a hold of that recording. You local spy shop (i am not kidding) should sell cheap phone recorders that would do the trick. I record everything so i always have documention just in case i get into a "he said - she said" situation. It works great on traffic tickets too.

This link has a form for resolving student loan issues. After two months of calls and emails, as well as letters to my representatives in Congress, my loan repayment plan is finally in order. But this will happen every year apparently as they currently are not required to remind borrowers when their annual request for documentation is coming up. It is recommended that borrowers be proactive and send their forms and income documentation in BEFORE the annual due date!

ACS is full of, at best of a bunch of incompetent ###s, and at worst a bunch of crooks. I have been dealing with them since NOVEMBER (it is now MAY) to get them to re-approve my income sensitive repayment loan. They either lose paperwork, or it takes weeks to process. Eventually I started incurring late fees due their ineptitude. I asked to be put in a forebearance while they fixed their f***-ups, but even that took almost a MONTH to get through. The most recent "supervisor" I spoke to (I was forced to speak to a different nitwit every time I called) gave me her extension and phone number AFTER i [censor]ed her out about having to re-explain my saga every time I called. I was forced to call again today, and the numbers she gave me were BOGUS. Apparently the loan has finally been fixed (this year, check back next November), but I still have the late fee (which I dont think I should have to pay) and I am irked at the fact the last supervisor OUTRIGHT LIED TO ME. IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO?

Okay... I finally worked all of this out because I was getting confused. I just hung up with ACS who currently serices an FFEL low of mine. Before I called them, I attempted to register at myedaccount.com as you've mentioned and it continually gave me the error message claiming my date of birth does not match my ssn and I recall running into this confusion before. Certainly ACS has never had a problem finding me in association with my FFEL loan when I call and yet when I try to log into any ACS site other than acs-education.com I get this date of birth/social security conflict and I wanted to resolve this once and for all.

It was explained to me that logging into myedaccount.com will be rejected if you do not have a Direct Loan with ACS and if you do, it will recognize you based on your DOB and SSN. This is why mine was rejected. My loan that's serviced by ACS is a FFEL.

She explained to me that nothing has change in regards to the entities that currently service student loans. She said this could be Sallie Mae, ACS, Great Lakes or Fedloan and that if any student's loans are being serviced by these servicers, those particular servicers may not have multiple websites for each kind of loan whereas they do.

The four servicers mentioned above were supplied by the DoE and ACS is not one of the four. According to ACS (that I spoke with), they do service Stafford Loans (which are Federal loans) but that the original lender of my/your Stafford Loan(s) chose ACS to service those loans rather than these other entities. She then told me that if I wasn't sure who services each of my loans (Direct, FFEL, Consolidated, PLUS, etc...) I should log into the Student National Data System (which I was already aware of) at https://www.nslds.ed.gov/nslds_SA/ One this sight, click on the number beside the loan you want to know about and it will inform you of who is the servicer of that loan.

I did this process weeks ago in preparation for the Special Consolidation and it took forever but I couldn't avoid doing it. I had to know who was servicing the loan, what the original loan amount was, how much interest had accrued, what the interest percentage is, and what the current payoff amount is. This site supplies all of this information which is great because it means at any given time, I can find out what today's bottom line balance is.

So in an effort to help make sure we're all on the right track in keeping up with our accounts... ACS (FFEL) states only those students who have loans other than FFEL will be able to register on that site; otherwise the student's attempts will be rejected with an error message during registration. They also verified for me that they are currently servicing only one of my student loans when I actually have five loans total. Others are servicing the four remaining loans. Since I told her I was so confused and needed to confirm whether or not ACS is "The" servicer for all Direct Loans and she clearly stated that (with the slightest hint of frustration by my continued confusion) what we're being told is absolutely not true and that the student's loan servicing entity depends solely on that student's lender. She also made it very clear to me that to avoid confusion and any potential late payments or fear of default, I must obtain my loan information, which includes the loan servicer's name(s) and contact information from the student loan data system.

According to the DoE, whom I also called, if you contact them in regards to your student loans, they will direct you to your servicer's and/or where to get the information.
Dealing with financial responsibilities makes me very nervous. Because I have so many loans with so many different entities, I don't know from one minute to the next if I'm coming or going. Finally being introduced to the Student Loan Data System, the confusion is FINALLY resolve and I can breathe. Plus this Special Consolidate will eliminate all worry because rather than having to write 5 checks each month, I will only have to write one... Thank God!

Imsmith55 - it might be worthwhile to check out that data system to ensure ACS is the only one servicing your loan(s). Do you have more than one lender? The ridiculous number of lenders I have really irritates me because lender choices are basically out of the student's hands. At any given time, the school could (and often do) choose to do their student aid business with a different lender, thereby automatically turning your single lender into two lenders without any vote from you. It's happened to me multiple times and for this reason, it's no wonder students who borrow Stafford loans remain in a constant state of confusion. Some schools don't do that but most do and it needs to stop. THAT'S my complaint for complaintboard.com today. : ) Let me know if you find conflicting information on the data system about your loans. I'm curious because none of us can always believe what we see and here and I've got to be on top of my responsibilities in this area. Good luck.

If you go to www.myedaccount.com to manage your loan repayment and place that link in your favorites list, it will be listed as Acs - Manage My Account - Login. After having done a little research on the web, I found information to confirm this. This is the official Direct Loan Repayment account site and it is being managed by Acs. Once you are done with school and have consolidated your loans and are in repayment after the 6 month grace period, this is who you will be dealing with. Something needs to be done; these people are incompetent.

Oh man... can you tell me where or how you came by finding out that ACS is handling (all I assume by your posted statement) the Direct Student Loans? The Department of Education's website states, "The Four federal loan servicers - FedLoan Servicing (PHEAA), Great Lakes Educational Loan Services, Inc., Nelnet, and Sallie Mae. And according to what they are telling me, Nelnet is the go to guy before all others. If ACS is calling the shots, I definitely need to know that.
Thankfully I am eligible for the Special Loan Consolidation Program and based on the criteria, my student loan(s) from ACS will be taken out of their hands and consolidated with the others. It would be my luck that once the consolidation is complete, the Government (who will then be the guarantor) will have put ACS in charge of their repayments. I actually would much rather it be Nelnet quite frankly.
But if ACS is really "the one"... please let me know how to verify that information for my own preparations. Thanks for the heads up.

I recently became aware that ACS has taken over the handling of Direct Student Loan Repayments, something I thought was administered by the Federal Government. As of this past fall, the Direct Loan Servicing website was changed and all organization and proper processing of student loans seemed to fall by the wayside. I have been in repayment for 3 years and never had a problem until now. Their customer service staff is uninformed and instead of helping borrowers is actually forcing them into temporary forbearance because of misinformation and very slow processing times. I have been trying to get things straightened out for a month now and finally decided to write to my representatives and the Department of Education in Washington. These are government loans and should not be handled the same way private loans are. This is not helping anyone and may force many unsuspecting people into defaulting on their loans.

I have had the same experiences with acs as many of you. My loan has just changed hands from a local company to this acs - education. Not only am i having the same problem wherein i made payments to my prior loan company that acs does not show, but now current payments i make to acs don't even show on my account! I guess you need to make your payment a full week or two early to avoid late charges.

Their customer service is horrible. I called to express concern over my payments not showing, and they would not answer a single question. They wouldn't even give me a guarantee that i would not be charged late fees due this situation being out of my control (Like i wanted to have my loan switched to acs and without my knowledge) .

If this continues i will be filing complaints thru any avenue possible. . . Bba, district attorney, ftc, anyone who will listen to me. I'm sure they will be better listeners than this sh** a** company. . .

This is by far the most god awful company in the world. I was to receive my 1098 for taxes in january but never received it. Called the company in june and was told that it would be sent out in 7 to 10 days, it is now the middle of august and still have not received it. I made a total of 3 call to have my tax form sent to no avail. I then got in contact with a supervisor named navia who assured me that it was being sent out. She gave me her phone number so that i could call her back to verify that my statementy was sent. I called her a total of 10 times over the next two weeks leaving my name and number each time and she never once bothered to call me back. This company is a disgrace. My original lender was wonderful but acs took over my loan in 2017. You people should be ashamed.

ACS is a scam syndicate and a disorganized institution of harassers. I'm a victim of IDENTITY THEFT that actually took place through a different bank via the internet four years ago. ACS bought that loan from the bank a year and a half ago, and have been sending me bills every since. As of today, I've had to request my THIRD fraudulent loan affidavit form to prove I do NOT owe them any money, and ACS claims the first form I filled out never made it back to them. The second form I requested (after finding out MONTHS after sending the first affidavit back to them) was never sent it to me! It's like they don't want to admit they bought a loan from a bank that was stupid enough to give away money to any 'ol crook with a stolen SSN and the dexterity in their hands to click on an "I agree that I am who I claim to be" e-signiture button on their online master promissory note web page. So I get the feeling I'll never see this third affidavit form I requested because ACS doesn't want to deal with it, and this identity theft will NEVER be solved. Hell, the original culprit will probably get away with the whole thing even if I do prove my case. Meanwhile, these ACS loan sharks will continue to harass me for the money that I don't owe, all because they're is too ###ed or purposefully trying to lose paperwork... especially their affidavit forms that could make them forfeit their precious interest! I'm refuse to pay for a loan I never took out. But at the same time, I'm tired of this run-around.

Conduent Education Services / ACS Education Student Loan Consolidation

I paid my consolidation loan off in July 2008. Over 3 months later I started receiving bills from ACS stating that I owed over $900 more to them. I called repeatedly and wrote many letters telling them that I paid the loan in full. I sent them confirmation of the loan payoff and now they tell me that I owe just over $400. They told me there was an accounting error, and I owe them more money. I refuse to pay this and have fought with them for over a year now. They are threatening my credit and I can't get any help. I will continue to fight, no matter what it takes. They are incompetent and rude. I didn't choose to do business with them. My loan was sold to them and now I am stuck trying to fix their mess.

Ethan Brown sent me an email, telling me that I have a lawsuit for $2873.81 but they will accept a payment of $964.52 on some money I never borrowed. He adds that if I am on probation or parole, I need to contact my parole officer and notify him/her of this. He further threatens that I will be taken to criminal court if I do not respond with 48 hours.

I have been banging my head against the wall trying to get ACS to do their math correctly. I had two loans at different interest rates at WellsFargo who sold them to ACS. ACS then combined them into one loan at a mixed interest rate. I call in every month to get the current balance and to make a request as to how to apply my monthly payment (due to my prepaid status). By doing this I will be able to pay off the higher interest rate first and get it paid off quickly. It took a couple months to get the hang of it because no matter how clear you make yourself or how many people you talk to, you must say the magic words "WITHOLD PREPAYMENT." No matter what the person on the other end of the phone says, if you don't say these magical words then nothing you have requested will get processed and they will simply extend your prepaid status by an extra month.
The second problem begins as soon as I start talking to one of the women in customer service who tells me that my balances are $1841.68, $621.11 and $920.84 on 3/9/12. I made a $100 payment ($10.97 of which went to interest) which allows $89.03 to be applied to principal. I call back after the payment has been applied and I get the balances of $1793.22, $604.77 and $896.61. It appears that the correct dollar amounts have been applied. To save money, on 3/9/12, I requested that all $89.03 be reapplied to the loan with the lowest balance and they agree to do so (I even said the magic words this time). Therefore it is understood by both parties that the principal balances WILL BE $1841.68, $532.08 and $920.84. FOUR DAYS LATER on 3/13/12 they say that my balances are $1739.22, $586.56 and $869.61. I don't know if they are dyslexic or just stupid but I'm beginning to lean towards the latter. When I ask why the numbers are different, they say that they don't understand my question because nothing has been applied in the past four days. IF NOTHING HAS BEEN APPLIED IN PAST FOUR DAYS THEN WHY HAVE THE BALANCES CHANGED!?!?!?!? I asked to speak to a supervisor, to which the person responded, "They are not available right now but I'll put in a request to have them call you back." I told her I would rather just be placed on hold until one is available. A couple minutes later Lisa picked up the phone who was just as helpful as the first person so I requested to speak with her supervisor on someone that is capable of doing addition and subtraction, maybe an accountant or something. At this point I was EXTREMELY frustrated and decided to handle it some other time when I had cooled off.
I understand that as an engineer I might have a stronger grasp on math than others but this is not differential equations. I believe that these people are just plain crooked and will do anything and everything to "trick" someone out of extra payments. Watch your account and check back with them every other week to make sure that your requests are being done.

ACS is awful and incompetent. Wells Fargo sold my loan to them and I've had nothting but trouble ever since. They increased my monthly payment amount without telling me. They initially split my loans out incorrectly so there were several different loans. I've had several instances of showing as late with them now because sometimes they take several days to process my payment. I have called and emailed to complain with them several times and still the same horrible service. I just want to go back to Wells Fargo or at least a more competent loan processor.

Absolutely agree and understand your plight! I never contracted with this sketchy company. They bought one loan while I was in grad school for 20K and another from Chase already in repayment for 12K. The Chase loan was already consolidated and therefore not eligible for consolidation. But guess what, ACS did that anyway and raised my interest rate from 5.4% to 6.8%. I am now waiting for notice of discharge of bankruptcy and they are sending me (in one day, I might add) letters stating I am more than 3 months late and going to collections fro 32K. And I get nowhere with any contacts. I have requested written conformation of the purchase of my Chase loan and my Sallie Mae loan, of the consolidation request, and of what legal basis they can refuse to notify of a loan balance coming due for payment or of the payment date BEFORE a loan is due. Not to mention backdating payment dates to times when a bankruptcy is in process. I was still in classes at the trustees meeting, so not at all possible for the loan to go into default during this time. This company is beyond fraudulent!

I had a loan from 16 years ago, which I contested because it was suppose to be a grant, NOT A LOAN! The government changed it and guess who got it Saliie Mae. We all know what they are like?! i have paid and then contested well. I finally just said I would deal with it, so dealt with a collection agency, they offered me a settlement which I did not take, and now it is int the hands of ACS. They offered me no settlement, they are such jerks when I spoke to them. I am now ready to fight it, so asked for it to be put on a deferment or forbearance until further notice. THEY DID NOTHING AND MY CREDIT SCORE DROPPED MORE THAN 50 POINTS! I am made as hell as I have paid and paid more than I was suppose too! Every person I speak with tells me something different and they really do not care! I asked the guy if he sleeps well at night, no comment. What are these people doing to us! The schools, the government and everyone else just screws us. They are like Robots.

I, too, have had my loans consumed by ACS. I have been unemployed in the almost 2 years since graduation, so I have been in unemployment deferment. This weekend, I received a bill stating that I am 11 days delinquent. I sent in a new deferment request and called to ask if I should do anything else. I'm pretty sure the call operator said that everything will be ok if my deferment was granted, but I'm not sure. I had to ask her to repeat herself several times. (And I am pretty good with accents... I know English, French, German and Chinese... a little Japanese and Spanish.) My loan amount and interest rate has also been increased, as the others have stated. Is this fair? or right? When I took out this loan in Junior College, I really needed a little money to survive and I signed an agreement with a bank that I chose. The bank I chose went under. IF I WANTED A LOAN WITH ANOTHER BANK, I WOULD HAVE CHOSEN A LOAN FROM ANOTHER BANK. If the bank I had the loan with went under, should I be absolved of the debt? I never agreed to these terms. The terms I did agree to seem to be gone. If there is a class action suit, please let me know. (Did the executives at Wachovia, or whichever bank the loans we had taken money from, pay back all the money they received while working for this institution? Why do we have to do so? Oh, because we are not wealthy and therefore do not have the right to throw our debts on other people?)

I totally agree. I've been disabled for 3 yrs. & every time I send in the paperwork it is rejected. The last time was purely grasping at straws. The form stated they hadn't received the paperwork in a timely manner but when I called them & had a postal receipt proving that they did receive it within 30 days, they then said it was because I'd drawn a line through my name under the "representative" line & hadn't initialed the line!

Conduent Education Services / ACS Education Harrassing a Business

According to the Fair Credit Act a creditor is not to call your work if you tell them they cannot call your work. ACS seems to think they have the right to. Not sure why they continuously violate the law thinking they are in the right to call. I think someone from this company should seriously look at the Fair Credit Billing Act and quit breaking the law. If you are from this company reading the complaints about yourself you should know that when you call a business after the person you are trying to reach there tells you to quit calling you are breaking a federal law, which means you can get massive fines for doing so. Each time you are recorded doing this you can have a violation for each call that you make to that business. Since I work for a corporate company who has zero toleration for this I'd say they are in some serious trouble. Just to let you know ACS, I reported you to the BBB and OCC. I was told to keep track of your every call, and since my company records each call, you have no standing ground in court should my company decide to take you to court for harassment.

Pay your loan payment and there will not be a need for them to contact you!

You gave them your work number or else they wouldn't have it. You signed a statement saying that they have a right to contact you at numbers that you provide to them.

So before getting lawsuit happy, pay your bill, know what you sign and stop sticking your foot in your mouth when you complain.

Collection agencies have to abise by the F.D.C.P.A. Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Filing a complaint with BBB will do you no good. To get an agency to cease collections efforts, you must send in writting, certified return receipt to stop calling you. At that point, they can make one call to you after that to advise they are ceasing all collection efforts or to informe you of their intent. With a place of emplyment, per F.D.C.P.A., you can tell an agency to cease phone communication at your place of employement, however, there will be no proof you told them. Send it in writting. If it continues at that point, you file a complaint with your state collection agency board and your state attorney general's office.

Conduent Education Services / ACS Education Poor customer service and support

I would like to say that I have had, and am currently having, poor experiences with ACS-education. Their customer service is not only borderline rude and unhelpful, but their customer service is barely existent. I I emailed them three weeks ago with a question and have never gotten a reply further than the automated response. Calling with my questions is met with the crass attitude as described by the person above. I believe this problem is with ACS and not with Wachovia.

The worst part is, there is no one to complain to! Because they haven't technically done anything wrong I can not launch a complaint with the BBB, but make no mistake ACS / ACS-inc / ACS-education has made having a student loan a miserable experience. I make all of my payments on time and can not wait to be rid of this horrible company. In no other industry would such horrible client relations be acceptable and there is no one in our corner to protect us from them.

In addition to these problems their website software is either poorly written or poorly implemented. The one time they actually responded to one of my emails I was brought to a very unresponsive "secure email" web page that took literally 30+ seconds to load an individual page. The only 'response' I got on this secure email was another canned customer service message stating that I needed to use the secure email system. The pages layout was also broken (it looked like images were either missing or did not sit right in the webpage.) After being forced to create a second user name and password to use this application I have gotten, once again, no response. The entire experience is so poor I can only assume they are purposefully trying to prevent people from requesting support.

Constant harassment.
Faulty website which will confirm payment but later reject payment without notification causing late fee accrument.
Finally decided to call and close off entire balance.
Received letter confirming entire balance paid.
Only to receive a call that I had not paid off an interest payment which was not disclosed during the previous phone call.
Manager would not accept my dispute and said I'd be better off just paying instead of fighting.

I am furious with ACS. My last 2 payments in May and April have been denied for absolutely no reason at all. I checked with my credit union to see if there were enough funds before hitting the send the button -- and there was more than enough in my checking account to cover all the loans. I didn't touch any of the money in that account -- I only use that account for bills and carry cash for daily purchases. I am extremely organized and careful with my money. NO MISTAKES WERE MADE ON MY PART! So, ACS decides to deny my payments, for no reason at all. So, this month June, I was forced to pay $2, 000 to cover all the late fees, etc. that had accrued due to their thievery. What really infuriates me is that I'm giving money to thieves -- my loans total $90, 000 (I have 2 masters degrees ). Now, I advise everyone NEVER get a student loan. Loans are for suckers! Why go to school--get into debt--look for a job to pay off the debt? Get a grant, scholarship, pay your way (even if you have to go part time for 10 years). STAY AWAY FROM ACS! Tell everyone. I just filed a report about ACS with the OIG on the US Department of Education website - hope everyone does the same. HOPE SOMEONE SUES THE ###!

I'm currently having problems with ACS regarding a student loan they purchased from Chase. I have called numerous times to get a loan history to see why my balance is approx 5k more than I have calculated and after making 3 payments the total amount due has not changed. This all seems very unethical and illegal to some degree. Any suggestions? Any class action suits forming because I would gladly join?

My current servicer for loans is ACS education. I have graduated last year and I have not received any mail or e-mail to make my payments. There is absolutely no correspondence between the client and company. My other servicer for loans is greatlakes and they do an excellent job with communicating and customer service. I believe ACS has an incentive to let their borrowers go delinquent on their loans to earn interest. This is unacceptable and borrowers should be warned before signing up with ACS.

My loan with ACS was changed to Sallie Mae in Feb of 2011. Payments that should have been going to Sallie Mae, I mistakenly sent to ACS (address confusion). I made 6 payments to ACS and the only reason it was caught was because I was getting late payment notice from SallieMae. I received 2 reimbursement checks from ACS and they still owe me over $1, 600. I've been waiting for someone to respond to numerous calls and letter asking for payment history record so I can get a proof of my payments. On one of my many calls, one of the customer service rep actually accused me of trying to commit a fraud by falsely asking for reimbursement for payments I never made. When I spoke to one of the supervisors...who was nicer but no more helpful directed me to payment dept..NEVER heard back from anyone - no matter how many calls, mails or faxes that were sent. Needless to say I am still waiting. I am very frustrated, angry and feel cheated.

Has anyone else gotten the error message "Sorry, the service you requested is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later." I have been getting this message for weeks with the correct username and password, and I am unable to talk to an actual person because their system is not recognizing my SSN. NONEXISTENT customer service. If you've dealt with this issue, some guidance would be appreciated!

I have also had poor customer service from ACS-Educational services. Not only do they call me at work if I am late, but I have been trying for weeks to open their website so I can retrieve my tax papers. I can't even get a contact page to open up. Plus, to add insult to the mix, they have double listed my loan under slightly different names on my credit report so that it looks like I owe trice as much as I do. No chance of buying my first house any time soon.

I have had nothing but bad experiences with these folks. Their customer service is rude and appears to lose information that I have given them either by phone or mail. On top of that, I was assured during a sales call that if my son, for whom I took out the loan, died the loan would be forgiven. It was a selling point to me. Well, my son died. I tried to get them to honor the promise their salesman made. They refused and told me no such promise had ever been made by them.
They are predatory and their practices are dishonest. I would never advise for anyone to get a loan from them. Has this company ever been taken to court? If not, it is long overdue.

ACS customer service is simply horrible. They lost money sent by my bank, they were not able to even understand the issue and therefore help me. i had to call my bank and put a stop payment to prevent any fraudulent activities on my account. Later after more than two weeks they miraculously found the check. I am still going to be "penalized" for their and have to pay the fees and the interest.

I apologize but my last posting had a spelling mistake…

My education loan was bought 4 years ago by ACS. After reading the reviews about the company back then I wish I could change but alas it was not possible. I believe they have predatory practices from what I read on the net and later experienced. Personally my loan was paid off about 6 months ago but I did have issues of concern. Three months after they bought my contract they contacted my grandma by phone and mail multiple times to verify my address and e-mail. She actually called me to ask what this was about. This is uncalled for especially since she was just a personal reference on my application (16 years ago) and did not co-sign my loan. I also registered immediately with ACS when they bought the loan and I was 17 months up at the time! The only advice I have for the ACS deal is be up on your loan by at least 2 months. My thinking is if you are a few months up they will not have any incentive to charge you a crazy fee or make you pay large penalties if you are up on the loan.

Conduent Education Services / ACS Education Payment - Student Loan

Like others who have complained, I sent in my March, 2009 payment per usual, through my Wells Fargo Bill Pay. I always pay at least two weeks in advance, and have never had problems in the past. The payment, due 3.01.2009, was not received, and I contacted both Wells Fargo and ACS, and discovered that the payment had indeed not been cashed. It appeared that the billing address had changed, and so my previous payment was stopped, and a new payment was sent to the new address. ACS was informed about this new payment, and was sent proof of the attempted payment. I was assured that all would be well, and that any record of this "late" payment would be removed.

A couple of weeks later, I receive a new notice stating that the payment has yet to be received. I contact Wells Fargo, and the payment has been cashed. I contact ACS, and they say that the money has not been credited to my account, and that it has likely been deposited into a "general fund." (WTF?!?!?! Is that LEGAL?) Wells Fargo again sends proof of payment. I am told that it might take a little while for everything to be straightened out, but am again assured that there will be no repercussions, as it is the fault of ACS.

I call to check up about my payment, and the representative says that the money is there, that Wells Fargo has faxed confirmation, but that MY money, for some reason, has still not been credited to my account. She says that I should wait "at least a week" before checking back.

I wait. I receive a notice in the mail saying that my delinquent bill is going to be sent to collections. My PROCESSED PAYMENT, confirmed not only by representatives from ACS but also from Wells Fargo, is being sent to collections. I have reported it to the BBB. I honestly don't know what else to do. Is ACS even a legit company anymore? Can I trust them with my money?

In the middle of March I received a call from ACS stating that my payments for Jan and Feb hadn't been received. I checked and the checks had been cashed. I told them this and they stated that I would have to fax copies of the checks. I emailed them copies the next day. I got a call back that they weren't received by email so I faxed them and was told this would be cleared up in a week. I called a week later and was told the fax wasn't received. I refaxed them and waited a week and called back. No one could answer why my accounts wasn't cleared up. I checked and added up the numbers from my phone bill and had been on the phone with them for over 10 hours in a month trying to get things cleared up. Finally today Apr. 13 it was cleared up. I made over 40 calls to them and recieved about 20 from them. They had cashed my checks and credited them to the wrong accounts. Which he had told them happened because when we got copies of the checks ACS had hand written in the wrong account number in the memo.

I would not call the 1-800 number to talk with customer service. You are transferred out of the country to people you can't hardly understand. Dial the number [protected] to try to get customer service. If you are considering taking a loan with this company I would definately reconsider it. I did not take a loan out with them. My loan was sold to them so now I am stuck with them.

I agree with the above comment. You can get no where calling the [protected]. I called and asked where she was located (physically) and she said Jamaca. You cannot get anywhere by calling this number. I have felt like I have gotten the run-a-round several times and feel like I'm trapped.

In July 2009, I begin paying my student loans back. I set up online payment through my bank ( Army Aviation Center Federal Credit Union). The first pymt. I sent was for $223.43. I did not realize at the time that my SS number was my account number, so when the money was sent to ASC I'm assuming they put it in the wrong account. I did update this at my bank and made the pymt for Aug in the amount of $223.42 which was credited to the account. When I realized the first pymt was never applied to my acoount, I contacted ACS to get the situation resolved. I was told that they never recveived the pymt. I contacted my bank who called ACS by conference call and they let ACS know that the pymt was sent and was cashed. ACS asked my bank to send a copy of the check which they did. We did another conference call a couple of weeks later and ACS said they had received the fax and my account would be updated. My account was never updated. I myself have sent numerous faxes, made several phone calls, and have also emailed ACS regarding the pymt. I have even sent the information (copies of front and back of check that was deposited into account in Long Beach, CA) directly to a supervisor ( Shelly ext 2907). I finally heard back from Shelly on Saturday (April 17th) and was told that the payment had been researched and there was not enough evidence for them to update my account. I asked what the next step was and she said I needed to send a copy of my bank statment showing that the $223.43 was taken out of my account. I explained that I had already done this several times. She said that she was not going to discuss this with me any further. I am appaled at the lack of professionalism of this company. They continue to charge late fees to my account every month because I am one month behind since they refuse to post the July pymt. They also call me regarding late pymt. This has gone on long enough. I am getting no where with ACS. They have been rude and inefficient for the 9 months I have been dealing with them.

ACS takes their time when opening your check that you sent them. They do this so that they can charge you a late fee. ACS did this to me. They didn't open my payment for weeks, and finally posted it 3 weeks after it was mailed. Of course they then sent me a letter, over a month later, telling me that my account is now delinquent and that they are going to send a collection agency after me because of a $9 late fee that they charged me and didn't tell me about. When I called them, they then said, "oh, that late fee is now $21 because you still haven't paid it." I didn't even know I had a late fee to begin with, and they've already charge me another compounded late fee! How dare they send me such a threatening note without them even informing me that I owed money! They were not at all responsive to my complaint or questions. They basically follow a script and don't listen to a word you said, and treat you awfully, even though it's their own fault that they didn't open your mail.

ACS Education Services - attained information about me through telephone conversation and then recreated my student loan application without verifying it with the Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Agency. The amount TGSL in 2003 was reportedly in 2015 to be Zero amount, but they never communicated this amount to me and ACS recreated the amount of the entire loan without any adjustments. They received my payments and when stopped because they could not tell me my balance owed - I found out in 2015 through written letter and proof - that the amount was always zero. ACS needs to be reported to Ripoff complaint and someone should go after them ripping off students with their false applications being resubmitted to the TGSL and Dept of Education - when they have fooled them entirely. I am owed over $4000 in payments given to them in payment all because TGSL did not send me my balance amount of ZERO in 2003 when requested. ACS Education Services should be discredited and made to repay the Students paying them in false pretenses.

ACS EDUCATION SERVICES - are con artist at their finest, because they not only got my entire information on my loan - but created a student loan with my social security without verifying my amount actually owed. Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Agency - never told me that my account was paid in full, hence I had to resort to paying on another lender in order not go in default. The lender did not reveal the amount owed was zero - but recreated my student loan in its entirety - which is considered FRAUD. ACS partook in this fraud case when they did not verify my amount owed and just continued by recreating amount all over again in 2003 - when actually I had started with them in 2009. They manage to full Texas Guaranteed STudent loan that this loan was real and returned their papers to them with application they created fraudulently. ACS are con Artist recreating loans that do not exist as a Student loan and fooling agencies and dept of education with their fraud papers.

I am in complete agreement re ACS. It has been over 4-1/2 months since I put in paperwork to have my student loans reconsolidated under a different plan. I am currently in IBR. After filing my paperwork I have called every two weeks to see where I stand and get the same robotic reply "It's still processing." I was in tears the last time I called and spoke to someone because my payments are becoming unsustainable. As soon as I flailed around on the phone, crying, I said "I don't know what else to do, I don't know why this is so complicated, do I need to speak to me attorney about trying to move this along..." and AS SOON AS the person on the other end heard the word attorney he interrupted me, put me on hold and then allowed me to speak to a supervisor. This person, who was kind and patient on the phone, told me she was "opening an issue" regarding my account and that meant she would be physically watching the activity on my account on a daily basis. It's been two weeks and I've not heard back from her so I called her direct line today, she is not available and my loan is "still in process." I will be contacting her again on Monday and if nothing is accomplished then I am speaking to my attorney (who is doing this pro bono because I am broke), to see how to move this forward, get the loans out of their hands and into the hands of another lender who will put me in the PAYE or REPAYE program which ACS says they don't follow (which the Department of Education found curious since everyone is supposed to follow federal guidelines for student loan repayment plans.) So add me to the list of beyond dissatisified borrowers who is now in total panic mode. I've been divorced two years and my payments have DOUBLED since I was married (filing taxes separately then.) I'm at my wit's end. ANY ADVICE?

I have consolidated my Federal subsidized/unsubsidized student loans with ACS in October 2002. I have began to get more aggressive with repayment in March 2014 and realized a year later that my extra payments were not being properly rolled over to principal only. I contacted ACS in May 2015 to apply all extra payments to the principal. The assistant mentioned that I must continue to pay the monthly balance in addition to extra payments (a no brainer). I pay from $200 - $300.00 extra each month and a portion of my extra payments are still being applied to the next month's interest, principal, and reducing my monthly payments. Today I've received a $40.37 payment increase notification in the mail today (from $237.62 to $277.96). What baffled me was that they stated last payment of $75 was applied to principal, however only $56.62 was applied according to my online account. It's frustrating because other loan services will not refi this private loan and I feel stuck.

ACS - Education Service is absolutely, undeniably a terrible company to serve student loans.! Because of its lousy online payment system, i double clicked - and was over paid. I contacted ACS, and was greeted by a cold -unprofessional staff. She did not want to hear my end - All she referred to was " this is our policy" - ACS charges me interest daily - it is absolutely absurd to hold my refund for 30 days - I deeply explained that extra $ is meant to put food on the table for my family- very basic needs. She would not want to listen. Yes you can process my refund a lot faster, but you don't want to do it. You have been living off the interest from borrowers like me. Clearly you care about your $, instead of people's welfare. You are a bunch of vultures !

I will add to this with more disgusting news about ACS. But where do I start? I have had nothing but problems with this organization since 2009. I make payments, they post late. The interest is calculated daily, quarterly, yearly. They are a complete rip off. I made a large payment in 2013 which prepaid my account until 2018. Throughout the years, I received threatening letters about delinquency. I ignored them and called/emailed ACS to update my information countless times throughout the years. It was updated at times, other times it wasn't. Consequently, it hit my credit report as over 150 days late, over 120 days late which dropped my credit score. There is nothing I could do but get the information corrected and wait until my credit health returned where it was before these terrible mistakes. I would love for a lawsuit against the organization to occur so they can pay for what they are doing to prior/current students.

ACS Education, functioning as my loan servicer, acknowledged receipt of my student loan forbearance as being acceptable and on time. Shortly thereafter defaulted me due to delinquency and my loan was sold to a bill collector. I fear they have pulled similar stunts with many other people. Anyone with a meritorious claim against ACS feel free to contact me for consideration into class-action status.

ACS is the ABSOLUTE worst! I made my monthly payment. At the time I only had enough money in my bank account for the one monthly payment. They took the money out and I was left with $10. Two days later I received a $29 NSF fee from them which put my account in the negative, then in turn I got a NSF fee from my bank. I called my bank and they said that they tried to do a second charge (after my first payment) and that there was no money. I DO NOT have automatic payments set up so how are they allowed to just try to TAKE money from my account?! I tried calling them yesterday on my lunch break and had to eventually hang up because I waited 45 minutes and still no one answered my call and I had to go back to work. This morning I wake up and call them immediately, I am still waiting to speak with someone, and look on my bank account and they DID IT AGAIN! They tried to take money out even though on my account it says I am all caught up on my payments and everything! In the past week they have, without my consent, taken $120 extra out of my account!

The ACS website is down almost every day. I have trouble logging in every time. I think they have a terrible website just so they can charge late fees. If it is not on purpose, then they need to hire a competent IT staff.

Conduent Education Services / ACS Education Added unsubsidized interest on subsidized loan with no justification and ignored complaint

My school loan changed hands multiple times--so many times it became confusing. Eventually, it ended up with AFSA, that then changed its name to ACS.

I never missed a payment, I never made a late payment, and I never took out an unsubsidized loan.

One day I looked up my account online and discovered close to $200.00 in unsubsidized interest listed as owed. I called the company and I wrote to them. After multiple phone calls and multiple different reasons provided as to why that debt was on my account, the last explanation provided was that they did not know why it was there because it was there when they took over the loan, thus I had to pay it. I wrote to them again, sending a registered letter they had to sign for, outlining the problem and my interactions with their company, disputing the debt, instructed them to provide an explanation in writing and that the interest be removed from my account.

I received one letter telling me they would investigate the problem and get back to me. Illegally, I never heard from them again. They continued adding interest to the unsubsidized interest. Eventually, I paid them $500.00 that I never owed them but I paid it when I paid off the loan in a large lump sum because we were buying a home and I wanted a perfect credit score. When I paid it, however, I included a letter telling them why I was paying it and that I still disputed the debt.

ACS never bothered to contact me, and they took their sweet time posting my final large payment so that they could charge the federal government more interest on the subsidized loan before they closed the account.

I just called ACS today. They hold my student loans and have been a complete nightmare to work with (as I see from other people too). On July 27th I received 4 separate pieces of correspondence from them in response to my application for reduced income payments. They were each conflicting and contradictory. I emailed ACS outlining what each letter said; however, no one ever got back to me. I emailed them again in August and no one got back to me. I then called and they said I was 40 days past due on my payment. They were rude and ill-informed. They had no knowledge of my written complaints and request for assistance. I said I can start paying them in October and asked for some payment arrangement so I wouldn't be behind in my payments. They said "well then you'll have to apply for a forbearance" for one month and interest will accrue. They said I would then have to reapply for reduced income payments. I asked if they had a formal grievance procedure in place and they said "no". What a Kafka-esque nightmare to be in. I did, however, notice that they are owned by Xerox and retrieved the email for ethics complaints. Is there a class action suit or anything I might join with others in? Thanks. Nancy

ACS took over my loans without my permission or knowledge and I have had headaches with them ever since. The biggest one being that they added my undergraduate loans on to my consoldiation twice. It took me 1/2 a year to get this fixed (with negative credit reports for this period, because I consistently paid them the correct amount of money - but not for the extra amount of loan). They outsource much work. I have never talked to an American in my couple of dozen unpleasant phone calls. If this is government loan work, let’s give americans the jobs.

I had student loans with Sally Mae and Mohela. Sometime in June 2006, I was pressured into signing up a consolidation deal with a company called Academic Funding Foundation. Little did I know that my loans would end up with ASC with significantly higher interest than I have been promised by the consolidating company. Like many others, I have fallen victim to a well-engineered scam run by people who are out to defraud the struggling college graduates. Is there any recourse or remedy?
