This company calls me on my job no fewer than 6 times a day. Currently I owe for last months payment and this month's payment goes past due on Friday. I will pay these people. In the meantime, although they have an alternate number for me, they call me at work. I work in a call center and can not make outgoing phone calls unless I am on a break. The call and leave me multiple messages and if I don't call back soon enough they call my co workers (our number are in numerical order by desk). I have some people coming to my desk that don't even know me to tell me that my bill collectors are calling about my car or they have asked my bill collectors to stop calling and they won't. This is unbelievable. I don't care much to talk to them because they say things like what is more important to you eating or driving to work? They have threatened to come to my job and take the car and then how will I get home. That is really unprofessional for someone to say. They need to be stopped. I have asked repeatedly that they stop calling but they wont.

I can't believe how similar my situation is. Cps has also harassed me at work several times a day also being abusive to my co worker and calling her a liar . I wish I had never gotten involved with these hoods. The relentless calls to my home cell and work and family. They call me and immediately start the attack. I fell behind by one month due to sickness . The are rude and the most ignorant people i have ever talked to. After calling me at work and yelling and calling me names I told her to call my husband . This bi-- called my husband and he asked her when are you going to pick up the car ? she said she wasn't and demanded the payment . My husband informed her that we no longer want the car and do not want to do business with them any more. This woman then called me back at work and said she was going to garnish my wages . I informed first she must get a court order to do so and some more arguing and yelling went on between us and by this time I was furious enough to b slap her if I were close enough to reach her. By the way I have worked in the same medical center for 8 years. She then proceeded to call me names white stick which i have no clue what this street slang means. I think they are a bunch of racist working there as well as uneducated unemployable bottom feeders that no other company would dare hire. Last week they called and threatened to repo my car if i didn't pay them western union right then i told them please do. My husband is retired medically and I am still working however due to medical bills and unforeseen events i am filing for bankruptcy . When my husband informed her of this she said you are liars your not filing for anything give me your case number and lawyers name and of course i gave her a name and it wasn't that.

I agree some how all of us should be able to file a class action suite and shut them down. We have pretty good senators in michigan so I am planning on writing to them and my attorney general maybe I can get some where. There are other finance companies out there that are not like this one. This does leave a bitter taste that just doesn't go away. It amazes me that this company can skirt so well around the law and still stay in business. Whats going on out there? Why hasn't this company been put out of business and why are dealerships still using these people.? Maybe we should target and name the dealers that deal with these people I'm sure they are aware of there tactics and its any thing for a sale.

I have had them call and misrepresent themselves as a tow truck company dispatcher . Wow the lengths they will go to. By the way there so called recorded calls my husband asked them to play for him don't exist after all why would they record themselves abusing a customer ? Good luck to all of you I will let you know if they ever pick up there car .

They do the same to me. My payment is due on the 5th of each month. They have actually called me on the 3rd to see if it would be on time. If its not they start calling me on the 6th to see why it is late. In the 4 years I have had a loan with them I have had ONE only 1 of their employees treat me like an actual person the rest treat me like some piece of dirt. Its insane! I am a middle class American who like everyone else is struggling right now. I hate CPS. And I have told all my friends no matter what NEVER get a loan through these people.

FIRST OF ALL IF YOU ARE USING CPS YOU HAVE HAD CREDIT ISSUES IN THE PAST WHAT MAKES THE BANK THINK THAT THEY ARE GONNA BE THE LUCKY ONE THIS TIME, YOU PEOPLE NEED TO PAY YOUR BILLS ON TIME AND YOU WILL NEVER HAVE TO DEAL WITH A SECONDARY BANK TRUTH HURTS ... IF YOUR USING THEM YOU ARE A CREDIT CRIMINAL AND BOO HOO GOD I HATE ROACHES...

I agree. They told me that I could change my due date which I did. I am one month behind and the next due date is today. They have called me threatening to pick it up and refused to make arrangements. Leslie at ext. 2858 is very rude and could care less. I spoke with her last month to delay taking the payment out of my account for 2 days. She didn't put any notes on my account and they took it out anyway which threw all my bills behind. She is very rude and stated that if I didn't borrow and send the payment by noon that she would have someone to pick it up. How do you know if they are for real or just threatening? I wonder if Leslie was ever behind on her bills.

I can add on to the list as well...my car payment is due on the 9th if I don' pay it that day they are calling me on the 10th at my job that is crazy. I know that I have a 10 day grace period and my payment is not considered late until the 19th. I have asked them to stop calling my job and they told me by law that they can call me if they want or they can just pick up my car.I have tried to call the BBB on them but no actions taken. I cant wait to finish paying off my car so that I don't have to deal with them. The reps there are very unprofessional and when you ask to speak with a supervisor they all say that they are always in a meeting which I find very odd.Something needs to be done this is not right.

CPS what a finance company they are very unprofessional, I called to surrender my 2003 ford explorer because I cant afford it rite now and Mrs. perry homes from the repro department told us that they need proof of income to see how much I made to see if they could repo it or not, and when I refused to give her that info she told me that I could keep the car and they were going to sue me. she was really rude nasty, she also told my wife who is authorized on my account why is she calling and that she did need to call no more. I have told them to come and get the thing several times and they refused to do so.they are calling my friends house and harressing her even though she told not to call back. I also told her that I was sending a letter of surrender and she told me to keep my letter and wouldnt give me a fax # to send the letter. cps is a joke and I hope to get something done about this problem and the company.

I am very sorry to everyone who has had trouble with them.
This is my first car loan & it is through CPS. I had never established credit because my attitude was-- if i cant pay cash for it-- I don't need it... well... I couldn't come up with 16k for my car.
It was to my understanding CPS takes individuals that are higher credit risk. I always pay my bill early and add $40-$200 to the payment.. I have never had a problem. I am sure they have always delt with people who were the same as me--"high risk" and are so used to repossessing vehicles bc people simply don't pay their bill. I don't agree with the harassing calls at work or the rudeness-- but I haven't had the experience.
I have had my loan for a year- and never spoken to them... I guess all in all-- if the bill is paid on time and the account kept current people wouldn't have the problem of harassing phone calls. I am a single mother and sometimes $$ is hard to come by... but I manage.

I just want to comment, in addition to the harrassing phone calls and rudeness, CPS deducted a double payment from my checking account when it was only suppose to be one payment. They were so arrogant and would not acknowledge their mistake. As of today, they have not offered to pay one NSF fee that was charged because of their error. Now, again, they have deducted an unauthorized payment from my checking account, despite me telling them that I would only agree to one payment at a time. I have contacted my attorney because again I have racked up on NSF fees because of them. My attorney has contacted the DA's office asking for help in this matter. I am not the first complaint she has received; I hope something can be done about this company.

PEOPLE NEED TO UNDRESTAND THAT SUBPRIME LENDING WILL BE GONE DUE TO SO MUCH DELINQUENCY ON MORTGAGES AND AUTOS. YOU ARE A SUBPRIME CUSTOMER, THAT MEANS YOUR FICO WAS TO LOW OR HAS HAD MANY COLLECTION ACCTS. SO DON'T SIT THERE AND COMPLAIN ABOUT YOUR DELINQUENT ACCT. WHAT YOU NEED TO DO IS BRING YOUR ACCT CURRENT SO THEY CAN STOP ALLING YOU OR SET UP A AUTOPAYMENT SO YOUR NEVER LATE ON YOUR ACCT BUT YOU PROBLABLY DONT WANT TO DO THAT BECAUSE YOU WANT TO PAY ON YOUR TERMS NOT THE TERM OF THE CONTRACT THAT YOU LEGALY SIGNED. IF YOU DID NOT LIKE THE PAYMENT DATE THE YOU SHOULD HAVE NOT SIGNED A CONTRACT THAT SPECIFYS WHEN YOUR PAYMENT IS DUE ******

It dont matter if owed only 1 pmt... a loan is a loan.. the only thing they are up to is making sure they get their money..its THEIR money that you are holding back, and if its just $600 like you are saying that you owe..then PAY it ! ... you can stop the calls it you just paid your obligation... you signed a contract agreeing to pay $x amount on certain days, if for whatever reason you are unable to, you still got to find away, situations do happen in life, but you gotta rememeber... life dont stop bc of "your situation".. business is business.

Kudos to Beth on making her payments on time and not having to deal with them and hope you never do, becasue I also started off like that and soon as that first payment was not made then the calls came and it got worse. I hope someone from the company reads these and fill like crap. No one there has any politeness. That's why i'm going to go to another company it's called roadloans.com

These people have no consideration for anything. They track down people that have nothing to do with your loan such as ex- inlaws they called my sons school for numbers on his emergency list.Hurricane Ike came through our town and I could not make payment due to no power anywhere . When I was able to make payment from cell phone because no phone lines I couldn't hear the conformation number . And I called to see if they recieved my payment they said if I didn't have a number I didn't make payment.She said that the 540.00 I paid should cover the repo cost and hung up on me. These people are so f-in rude I advise anybody not to have a tri-cycle financed through theses people they should be put in the catagory with loan sharks or mobsters They are laws against harassment and they break every one of them they should be shut down!

I too, am a victim of the infamous Consumer Portfolio Services people! I am one payment behind and they have called up to 23 times a day at my job. When no one will talk to them, they pull out my references and start calling and harassing them as well, making sure they let everyone know they are calling from CPS. Of course everyone thinks this is the Child Protective Services agency. I have asked them to stop calling my job, surprisingly they did for about two weeks but the calls are continuing. I am documenting everything they do.

This company called my ex husband who I haven't been married to for over 20 years. I don't even know his phone number and his name was NEVER listed as a contact. They called my church demanding payment when they were nice enough to pay a payment when I was off work. They have used foul language to may daughter and even threatened her with bodily harm. When she told them to quit calling and hung up they called back 5 times and cussed her 0ut. There should be something that can be done about this.

I bought a vehicle in 2007, and only been late once, due to bank fraud and ID theft, and this so-called loan company is taking legal action on me. They say I haven't paid a payment in almost 5 months, and I know I haven't. They even tried to say I told them to take more from bank account one month, and now the sent back 2 months payments, uncashed in a bill. They don't want me for a customer anymore. I have notified the Federal Trade Commission, the Attorney General in the State of CA, and the BBB. They told me that the BBB is a worthless organization and they don't have to adhere to them. I also know this happened to a friend of mine when her son was dying of cancer. No compassion, cares or worries for them, yet they are out drumming up business with car dealerships who refuse to do business with them.

I am sick and tired of this "finance company". They simply have no respect for people including themselves. Sure, everyone has a story as to why they can't or didn't make a payment, but the rudeness is uncalled for. But you all need to remember that they are attempting to elicit an emotional reaction and they do just that. If they elicit this emotional reaction, they will usually get you to pay. And don't be fooled; they don't want you to pay ontime. They expect and bank on you being late.

OMG! I am so HAPPY to find out Im not the only one dealing with this companies harassment! THEY HAVE TO BE STOPPED! THEY CALL CONTINUOSLY UP TO 25 TIMES A DAY AND THATS NO EXAGERATION! We fell behind recently due to 2 medical emergencies that required emergency surgeries 3 weeks apart resulting in loss of income. When we called to work out an agreement we thought that everything was ok till a week before our payment was to come out our account they sent it thru a week early which caused an enourmous amount of fees not to mention they had the nerve to call and accuse us of writing them a bad check! They have lied to us on a daily basis as well as try to threaten us. They are VERY rude and will talk over you not let you explain your situation very unwilling to work with ANYONE! Has harassed my husband at his job and numerous times have called and said they were tow truck co. and would hang up and have even said they were the local police! This IS FRAUD! It has to be illegal for them to pose as someone else! After the payment came out our account I informed the company they are no longer authorized to take out payments from our account and guess what THEY DID! I would NEVER EVER send ANYONE thru this company! They are more than unprofessional they are a disgrace to the financial world!

I have been with this company for the past two years. And there has been times where i am not able to make the payments on time and i let them know and all they can say is that if payment is not made that they are going to pick up car. This is rediculous and what this company needs to do is get new agents with proper etiquette manners to be able to deal with there customers. All i know is that as soom as i am done with this company it will be the very last time i ever do business with them again. And, i will make sure that none of my family members or friends do business with them as well.

I totally agree with you, I didn't realize how bad this company was until they took money out of my account not once but twice without my permission and I fought with both the bank and cps and never did get my money back... whatever you do don't pay your pmt over the phone they keep the information and take money out of your account and no one seems to be able to stop these people. They have harassed me at work, my family and some of my friends. Nothing stops these people... THEY HAVE TO BE STOPPED! I don't understand why or how this company keeps in business.

I purchased my vehicle in 2007, and have never had such a rude company, and employees at a company as CPS. I filed a complaint with the BBB. Attorney General of CA, and The Federal Trade Commission in Washington, DC. I received a letter from the attorney general with C
PS's rebuttal, which consisted of lies to cover their butts.
I have been cussed at, threatened, etc, and now they won't take my payments. I have spoken with an attorney who is going to recommend a class action attorney to help me out. There isn't a day that doesn't go by, that there isn't a phone call or 2 or 3 and even, a message machine calling me, with wanting to know where my car is so they can pick it up in a repo.
Missed payments, well they should take them and leave people alone, and this comes from four car dealers' loan officers who quit them.
If anyone wants to sue, save everything from them including messages on your answering machine. I have yet begun to fight, and I refuse to give in. This company needs to lose a couple lawsuits, and see what is wrong with their company. They need to take classes in how to deal with the public.

CPS/Consumer Portfolio Services are horrible.
They call me over and over, although I had made arrangements to make my payments on another date. Since I am unemployed it takes me longer to get my payment to them and I am forced to pay them at the end of the month verses the beginning. The repo people call me and tell my 13 year old they are in front of my house so tell your mom to clean out the car cause we are here to get it. I have a garage but I tell the ### each time. Come get it. I don't care. Then I made a payment this summer that was $99 short and they say its not credited as a payment and harass me each month talking about im 2 months behind when im not. I hate theses people and am going to trade in my car as soon as i can afford too. This is the worst finance company i have ever had. They are rude and tatics are very unprofessional.

I hate CPS. They where calling my sister when i was 2 days late with a payment. They harassed me at work also. They are horrible and so unprofessional. My sister stopped talking to me for 4 months because of it. They will be receiving my bankruptcy paperwork soon. he he he

What bugs me is that people who pay late EVERY month complain on "harassing " phone calls when in reality there not.. Debtors say that when they dont like what they hear. I understand being late maybe once or twice but evey month..COME ON! get your self a second job or change your life style.. Debtors need to stop complaining about there finance company and start taking responsibility for there debt.. You people want to know how to stop the phone calls.. its easy.. MAKE YOUR PAYMENTS ON TIME! oh and stop making excuses and GROW UP..

Good Lord Im so glad im not alone! These people are every bit of rude and beyond unprofessional. And we are not making excuses, My son was in the hospital for a month and i was one day late and they were so rude to my mother! These people wanted to come get my damn car, c'mon! When they call they are rude as heck, and they call everyone I know just to pry into my business! Can someone tell me how they are dealing with these people! I want to file some suit!

These people are the rudest people in the world. I was one payment behind, they called my job 3 times spoke to me twice in the same day, spoke to a fellow co-worker proceeded to tell my business to this person. They have also called family / friends and put my business out there. All for one payment that was less than a week late. Not to mention when you talk to any rep they are just demeaning, calling me a liar, hanging up on me. That is no way to talk to a customer.

Well I think now I’m not by my self I have send a payment to CPS to cover 3 month plus what ever late fee I have they didn’t not care they just tock there monthly payment and didn’t cover my late fee now they are calling my job every single day to tell me the I have to paid late fee on the late fee the I have from before they are a rip-off some one have to put a stop to this people. Please how can we put this company out off business?

I had a 2003 ford from them I was trying to work out catching my car payments up. I still recived phone calls everyday. when I finely called them back i ask for the person that I had been talking to. When this other lady go own the phone and told me that the arraments that I had made was not good enought and they was still going to come get my car. I ask to speak to her superviseror . she put someone else own the phone. he told me the arraments where fine. then he ask me where I was getting the money. I told him it was none of his business. he ask me why was I being so hatefully with him. Well I said seance he ask #1 I was tired of the harrassment. #2 I was none of his business where I was getting the money to make the payment. He then told me that he was getting tired of people not paying there bills. he heard my disabled husband in the back ground and told me that I need to tell him to go get a job and help me pay my bills. I told him I was done with them at that point they could have the car back. He told me that they did not the car back that they would take me to court first. he also told me he didn't care if I drove my car off in a lake or set my car on fire. and I guess there boss thought it was ok for her employee to talk to there customer. So I took the car back to the place where I bought it. If they want people to pay for there cars they need to learn some matters

THIS COMPANY IS TERRIBLE MY ENGINE IS GOING IN THE TRUCK I AM STILL FINANCING SO I MISSED PAYMENTS EITHER PAY THEM AND NOT HAVE A TRUCK OR FIX THE TRUCK AND NOT PAY THEM STUCK BETWEEN A ROCK AND A HARD PLACE..THEY CALL ME ALL DAY HOME AND CELL I TOLD THEM I NEED TIME SHE TOLD ME THEY WOULD START LEGAL ACTION GARNISH MY WAGES 25% NOW IM LIKE GO AHEAD TAKE IT BACK I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO DO ENGINE WORK ON A TRUCK I ONLY HAD FOR A LITTLE OVER A YEAR FREE ME OF THIS BURDEN YOU'LL BE DOING ME A FAVOR.

I am so glad I am done with them :-) I lost my job last year so we couldnt afford 2 car payments and house so my car had to go. We were never late on a payment for 2 years so as soon as I lost my job we decided to have them pick it up. We figured why prolong it if we know we couldnt keep it. They took 3 months to pick it up and during those months we got daily calls all time of day and each time told them to come get it we couldnt afford it. THey finally did in July. Well fast forward to today we got a letter from out DPS office that we have outstanding toll charges in Houston (we live in San Antonio) from October! Called them if they can give me any info to where our car went to. They said no and if they did they wouldnt give it to me anyway cause they repoed the car.

All I can say is I will NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM EVER!

We have now been with cps for 2yrs and I have to say they are the worst ever! They have called my home phone and place at work more times in one day it's crazy! They have called my neighbors and said I used them as a reference when in fact I did not...I don't even talk to all of my neighbors but they now know my business. I"m tired of the threats of coming ot take my car at this point I am so ready to let them take it! They are calling me the day before my payment is even due give me a break! They have taken unauthorized payments from my acct several times and left me in a hole but once again they don't care! I have never really been more than 2 payments behind and these calls have to stop! They are very rude and unprofessional! I wish they would go out of business! I will never again deal with them for as long as I live.

I can't believe this is happening to others I thought it was just me yes it's all true I've been through everyone of these situations and I too can't wait to be done with them I tell everyone not to deal with CPS they should be going out of buisness soon if we keep posting such incidents. I doubt if they capture any new fools after they mistreated us old fools.

I am a co-worker of Joyce's and I have taken many phone calls while on the job from good ole' Phillip who has proven to me that he is nothing but a liar. I've answered 3 calls and he leaves messages on Joyce's home phone saying that he's called and has left 6 messages with me...
He's a limp dick... a worthless waste of life. What kind of a-hole must one be to get a job like this anyway... Do they train these things to do their jobs or are they just born this way... This job I'm certain must be the first steps one must take to get into hell with ease... I know!.. they couldn't get in on the kama cozzi missions so the only other option on getting a secured job in the United States was this one... Do any of them speak clear English? I'm sure if they were in there own countries their tounges would be cut out already...I think that any car dealership that allows these ### to take hold of innocent parties financial loans should be boycotted as well... For all those of you who think you are above those who may have fallen short on luck and may have incurred credit issues, I hope you go through it sometime so you can enjoy some of the calls from some of these ruthless vultures that call to plain harrass people make. I realize that there are some irresponsible people out there but not every one that has fallen behind on their financial obligations are. As for harrassing phone calls. I get them all the time from collection agencies including Consumer Portfolio Services just because I have a common last name and theese slugs (so called bill collectors) either leave harrassing phone calls or harras me when I answer the phone. And even if I tell them they got the wrong number, they continue to call and continue to harrass me. So You should look at the other side of the story before you talk. I owe no one and I get harrassing call. Go figure.

OMG...DITTO TO EVERYONE! THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO BE PUT OUT OF BUSINESS. I CAN'T EVEN BEGIN TO GO INTO WHAT I'VE BEEN THRU WITH THEM. HOPEFULLY THERE IS AN ATTORNEY OUT THERE THAT CAN HELP!
