This company may get you by for awhile. I lasted one and half years, but I put up with many false allegations, manipulative tactics of corporate to try to find reasons for employees [me being one of them] to give medical evidence for perceived medical problems the company would decide were present, even psychiatric problems. I found the company would take these medical releases, then expect a notice of accomodation, then get a large tax credit off any employee they could lead naively into such circumstances. This is very disrespectful, greedy, and unethical.
Thsi company says it has integrity. Not, not one ounce. They will feign having integrity, but completely violate discrimination laws by covering up true allegations of misconduct with their supervisors.
I put up with derogatory comments and abusive tactics, behaviors, lies, dishonesty, and butt covering like I've never seen in an employer. But, it worked for as long as I could completely ignore it, until it got worse.
And when I resigned, they were trying to get me to stay why? So, they could continue to undermine and devalue my relationship as an employee?
I did not deserve this treatment, was making a lot of sales, training other people, and not even expecting raises or persisting to get promotions.
I put up with so much scapegoating, blaming, and unreasonable write ups from supervisors who were, basically, sexist, in my opinion, who made so many lying rebuttals as to why his write up actions and behaviors were only disciplinary procedures or necessary, blaming completely the employee.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Yea, i too worked for crossmark for about a year and what a scam. When i was hired it was for a part - time temprary basis only 400 hours avaialbe on the project. When the project ended my manager, this cagie little german woman, told me i was making a volunaty exit from the company. When i asked what that meant she said there were no more hours available and that i was out of a work. Then when i tried to file for unemployment this third party entered in representing crossmark and alleged that i was fired for theft. I called my manager and she said it was company policy not to discuss the terms of seperation with old employees. Still fighting to get my unemplyment and save my reputation. Be very careful of this company they will burn you and never think twice about how it may hurt you or your family its all about the money to them.
I learned real fast! I was hired in October for what was suppose to only be my local area for parttime. I was not told I would have to drive extensive mileage, nor travel over four hours one way every month for a meeting that mainly pertained to their full time retail reps. I was told I would only be travel at most 75 miles per week and in less than one month I put over 3500 miles on my personal car going to areas that are not even local for me.
Coming in from working one evening trying to get all the stores done in less than three weeks given time, my car was rearended at a stop sign that I would not have been even close to at that hour if I had not been trying to do adhere to their requirements of 100% completion.
My car was paid off, and it was totalled, so I have now ended up with an extra car payment to have a vehicle, over double insurance costs due to having to finance the replacement car, and when I asked for the area to be put in full time as I could not afford the extra payments with the extensive mileage they were expecting me to drive at my expense, I was told they would not change the area. Neither have they offered to help offset the loss of my original car even though I was required to drive way over the so called 75 miles a week to give them 100% compliance in the stores.
I have been told that my resignation has been excepted instead of being ethical and altering the work either by making it full time or cutting back the drving distances.
With gas at 3.15 a gal in this area, all car expenses out of a persons on pocket, it is not only unethical but immoral and may even be illegal which I am checking to see if what they are doing is even legal. Everyone else that has this distance to drive is given full time and provided a car, a credit card for all car expenses, their ink, paper and any other items, but they provide only 26 cent a mile for a part time person, the first hour of driving is not even covered, all computer, work supplies, etc have to be paid out of the part time persons pocket.
This company is a rip off company and wants someone else to pay the high expenses in areas that the stores are long distances apart, the roads narrow, crooked and dangerous. They truly have no concern for a persons safety, or costs and are very content as long as they can get that person to foot bills that the company should be covering.
DO NOT GO TO WORK FOR CROSSMARK, they will rip you off!
I understand there are many past and present Crossmark employees that would agree with you on your complaint. Most are too scared of losing their jobs so they just put up with the not so great parts of their job. Check with your state law on what should be covered by Crossmark and see where you can go from there. There are a couple of good books out on these type of problems. Try the local library on this subject(s) as well. Good luck.
As of Nov. 2010 and ongoing: Recently, this company has been contracted to work in Sam's Club. The Crossmark company has not done their job well concerning hiring their Retail Supervisor of Events (RSE). They were not supervised well by upper management in Crossmark. The upper/senior management let the first RSE assigned to this Sam's Club conduct Vendor funded events with an employee working for Crossmark conduct an event for that Sam's Club at the same time. That means falsely reporting that the event was run as paid for to the Vendor when those funds were being used to run a Sam's Club "Road Show" event simultaneously. The RSE had done this repeatedly between February and October 2010. Crossmark did not oversee what was happening in the Club. There was much favoritism shown by this RSE for the benefit towards the past Sam's Club sampling employees (let go by Sam's Clubs Jan 2010) who were hired by Crossmark for positions within Sam's Club. These X-Sam's Club sampling persons do not follow the Crossmark rules and guidelines for food sanitation/safety set by the Health Dept. Why are they allowed to still be there in this company if they are not following the guidelines for food safety or what they are supposed to do while conducting an event? There are several reasons you do not want to work for this company. See the other complaints here for more information on this company prior to accepting a job with them.
This company is a SCAM. I was hired and then nobody ever contacted me. The training is online and difficult to understand and if you have any questions, no one is there to answer them. Don't even go to the interview or drug test, it's a waste of your time and energy. ### Crossmark their new logo should be " Us off of your schedule!" Go to the BBB and the Labor Board and complain, not that it will do any good. The best bet is to complain directly to the companies Crossmark represents by telling them what a ### job they do. They are ALWAYS hiring so you won't have a problem being taken advantage of WASTING your time! Good Luck SUCKERS!
Too Bad. Research--------?
So long dummy
I was a corporate client service manager in Planoand everything written here is factual. Iwas a top performer and I left due to the unethical practices by this company. I have been in the retail business for 30 years wroking for some major national headqurtered companies and I have never ever seen such blatent disregard for employees as well as clients. The comapny is run by one of the bigest ###s I have ever met in 30 years (John Thompson). It's unfortunate because there are some very good people there.

Review Headline
Terrible they're not even to IRS standards on paying miles driven, drive time etc.
What do you like about working at CROSSMARK?
At least it's a paycheck. Work may be sporadic but high hours when it does come in equals a bigger paycheck. At least Tech Support and some though very few individuals at Field Support "care" about the reps calling in and things. At least my RS and RM "care" about me.
What do you dislike about working at CROSSMARK?
Lack of work or very low hours and sporadic schedule. Not paid on miles driven or drive time the same way Mosaic or other merchandising firms do it or even like the trucking companies do.
Have to deduct 40 miles each way from home to first store and from last store to home. They consider it your commute time etc. When the time comes to cough up the cash and pay accurately on miles driven, drive time etc. or to pay anything the CEO cops out and would rather set these "corporate and company policies" than just pay his employees both at the HQ and in the field. That's what it all boils down to is corporate greed and not wanting to pony up the cash when the time comes to compensate their employees. Can you say Federal investigations and law suits here. Shoot a bunch of disgruntled reps and employees just sued Premium Retail in the past few years.
HQ can't get it's act together and they irritate the managers in this part of the nation and all over the 50 states etc. to where at times of the year there is no manager over the region or regional retail supervisor because they up and quit out of frustration.
What advice would you give to senior management?
Hire some good lawyers because you will need em. Pay us accurate miles based off of the same systems that other merchandising firms like Mosaic and others use as well as the trucking companies. Pay 35 cents or higher per mile starting with the first mile driven to the last mile driven and make 0 no zipola deductions. With gas through the roof every penny counts. Pay drive time accurately. Loose this Google Maps jazz on the sales track and pay roll entries drive time and miles entry thing and go back to the old system of actually trusting your employees to accurately report both of these.
Put in the drop downs back on sales track and pay roll entries for administrative and supplemental time as well and again trust your employees. It shouldn't take a phone call to FS or an email for that matter to report these and no you don't need to know the zenith details of your workers days and what they were doing during the time reported just the minor details. Work on communicating better on all levels.
Your field reps are out here going what on earth is going on and not even our regional supervisors or managers know because you over at HQ are not talking to us or them. Find good reasons to retain your employees before we have a mass exodus on our hands. No one wants to work for a tight fisted penny pincher who won't pay his or her employees accurately and based on industry standards. Stop marching to the beat of your own drum. FYI the way you are or are not paying us miles driven etc. is in direct violation of State labor laws and Federal laws. It even violates IRS Code.
Yes Crossmark is a mess. They have Supervisors handling over 100 people and lord knows how many projects. The Supervisors can't train anybody they don't know anything about the projects. All they seem to do is send out threats and complaints about various things they are emailed. When I tell the other vendors at a Reset I am from Crossmark they act like I told them I'm a serial killer from Mars. That or an idiot. The more I work with the company the more I understand this. They care about one thing. Sending bodies to fill their obligations at the lowest cost possible to themselves. There is no raise, half ### benefits, terrible compensation for the constant travel, and no real support. The much lauded "Field Support" that they constantly tell you to use is in reality some poor shmuck sitting at a computer somewhere looking at the same worthless Salesplan and Sales Files that you have access to without the benefit of looking at the real world situation which can be remarkably different. I like having different things to do in different places but when I am basically being exploited and one car repair away from bankruptcy I know...I should not be working for this company.
I was told by several people who worked at Sam's in Shenandoah for Crossmark, Be careful of Melissa, She's BRUTAL. She was a District Supervisor named Melissa Brooks Barragan. She constantly harassed me about my dress. When I questioned her about that, she said that she wasn't trying to intimidate me, only to keep me under control! I am a 70 year old adult, with good self control, who doesn't need to be controlled by a ... Caught me once without my Beard Guard. Once Without my cap and Chastised me for wearing Suspenders. They are not a part of my "uniform" she told me. I wore my apron into the rest room once. It would have been different if anyone had previously explained these “rules” to me. Gross infractions of the rules, according to her. I needed them to hold up my pants. I'm very slim hipped. so, I went around with my belt so tight I could hardly breathe. The only tbing she could find to question two women about was why their blouses had ruffles. I asked her, "why don't you ask about something important, like performance. " "How much merchandise do I sell." I worked one week-end at a Walmart for a sausage company and sold 117 packages of sausage. That was by Telxon count. They were quite happy with my performance and had nothing else to say about my dress, or my methods. She asked me once what was my quota. I explained that in the months I had worked for them, no one had ever given me a quota. She had no comeback for that. I asked her if they taught her in school that intimidation was a good method of management. When I asked her where she went to college, she explained that it was someplace in California and then proudly told me that she had worked for Crossmark for six years. All she ever did was to intimidate me on minors and never got to the majors. She recommended, through another person to my store manager, who was, himself, afraid of her, that I be terminated. I asked for a copy of the termination Email. I have never gotten it. In my opinion, Miss Melissa is very poor management material. Without the current store level manager, Hart Malarcher, the Crossmark Organization at that Sam's Club would be nothing. Hart does a pretty good job, in spite of Melissa. They have a fantastic turnover rate at that that store. It is largely because the people do not want to be harassed. What a relief to be rid of this company. Good things come to those who wait. In my new job, I am a product manager for a manufacturer. I have previously been vice president of this company. I don’t think they would have re-hired me if I were incompetent.
Bob Southard
Ive work fr Crossmark for about 2 months now and NON of my paychecks are ever correct! I have to email somebody and its always my fault that its not right. I email the person to correct it and I dont hear back from anybody or a couple of weeks!
Bob Southard, you deserve a medal for putting up with the Crossmark'/Sam's Club Circus. What you stated was horrendous and very true. Reposting for all to see and read. It is true that that will rip you off if you let them. But I just got all my work done ahead of schedule and did my job. I worked for a price that I thought was fair. I charged alot more than other people. I wasn't going to say I scanned t600 skus per minute bull in data collection. I am damn proud of it and then they didn't have to retrain someone else.. I charged more money and kept working no matter how much they [censor]ed they were going to let me go and they never fired me cuz I knew who ever they found wouldn't stay long. I told management, " which is more convenient, pay me the salary I demand or rehire and retrain ever month. They kept threatening to fire me but I just did it my way hell or high water. I did it my way. Screw crossmark. May management burn in hell.
I Worked for crossmark for since January 2012 and a lot of crap has been going on about dress code and this and that which is garbage then i only get to work 1 day out of the week and the mgr claims headquarters was doing it when she is the one who makes the schedule which totally a bunch of crap and telling the staff how they cant try samples when customers wanna know what its like or some sort screw crossmark cause its all a bunch of ###.
I had the pleasure of meeting Melissa Brooks Barragan. She asked me why I was acting strange and what was wrong with me, I have never met her before in my life, how would she know if I was acting strange she has never laid eyes on me in her life. My coworkers said she harasses everyone every chance she gets,
I currently work for Crossmark and am waiting for the right moment and trying to gain the support to file a complaint against the company. The employees at Sams are paid for 360 minutes daily, but are illeagally forced to work 30-90 minutes without being paid for it. If this has happened to you we must unite against Crossmark!
I found this comment board by accident and I can't believe all of the complaints people have. I've been working for Crossmark over 8.5 years now and I like it quite a bit. They are a massive, international company and there isn't a lot of micromanagement, so yes, you will get employees at all levels who aren't right for the company or even this type of work. However, the company has many different teams. If you don't like being on the events team, call HR and ask about positions on other teams or see what stores near you have openings and change stores. If you don't like driving distances for resets, look at job openings and apply for teams that don't do resets. There are many "dedicated" teams that have very regular hours and no travel. We don't get paid the government rate in mileage, but the difference between Crossmark's payment and the goverment rate is tax deductible, so you can still get that money, just on your taxes instead of week by week. The truth is that the economy downturn hit Crossmark very hard, as it did nearly every other company in the country. They had to do away with things like administration time. They had to cut corners wherever they could...but they are still here and growing and I still have a good job, with decent pay. The insurance benefits aren't fantastic, but not many companies even offer 20-hours/ week employees benefits including medical, dental and life insurance, plus vision discounts and work related disability reimbursement. I even have a 401K with the company and I'm fully vested, so they match my monthly payment to that 401K. Who else offers that to half-time employees? If you're having problems with Crossmark, work on solving them. Don't do anything that will get you fired and if you don't get a response, call someone else. You'll find someone who will help eventually. It's a good job and a good company that keeps getting new contracts and adding new companies that are drowning in the economy. Hang in there. Always remember, you aren't stuck on the team you were hired on. There are jobs all over the company. Good luck and God bless all of you!
I have been working for Crossmark since April of 2012. It is now October of 2013 and I just quit yesterday. Let me give you a brief run-down of my experience with this supposed company:
When I was hired it was under a supervisor named Matt (no last names for privacy purposes) about 60 days into my employment, he was fired with no explanation given to the employees that had him as a supervisor, and Alex because our temporary supervisor. Problem being, the temporary supervisor was thousands of miles away! I had several issues with my coworkers, they had been the only people in the store for years, and were very petty about what equipment was "theirs" and when I brought the issues up to the super, he said he couldn't do anything about it from where he was. It took well over 3 months for a more local supervisor to be placed. It was another couple of months before I ever met her.
Every single encounter with this woman, be it face-to-face or over the phone, she was rude, had an abusive tone, used language that was unprofessional, and spoke to all of her employees like they were idiots. Finally after things escalated to the point that I dreaded calling her for anything because the conversations always left me in tears, I complained to her supervisor. She was spoken to, and for a while things got a lot better. She was nicer, more helpful, and started visiting our store more.
THEN things went to hell:
1. I had some health issues, and she used my 3 weeks of being on doctor approved medical leave, as an excuse to remove me from my lead position.
2. she wrote me up because she got a complaint that I was not at my cart. I had been on break at the time of the complaint, and my break sign had been knocked off onto the floor. She insisted she had to write me up for it.
3. She cut my hours down so low that I was working only 2-3 days per month while my coworkers were getting several days a week at our store. (I know this was done out of spite because they would travel to other stores in other cities, and I was unable to due to having to share a vehicle with my spouse)
4. She would complain to me for the back room being a mess when I was there the least, and no longer the lead. She would ask me to clean it up off the clock, and essentially do the acting leads job for them.
5. This is a reoccurring problem with all crossmark employees everywhere. They give you 15 minutes to set up and tear down, though this process always takes longer. If you start sooner, you get yelled at. If you don't accomplish it in 15 minutes, you get yelled at. If you go over your time, you get yelled at. Essentially what they want you to do, but won't come out and say they want it, is for you to work off the clock to finish up.
6. The final straw was when, after 3 weeks being gone for bereavement, I returned to work, only to have a medical emergency and have to leave right after purchasing the product for my demo, and my supervisor accused me of stealing from the company, because product was purchased but no demo was performed, never giving me a chance to fully explain, and then suspended me pending review. I later messaged her and told her not to bother anyone with a review, because I quit.
In short, I caution anyone thinking about working for them. You deserve better than how they will treat you.
I was hired and started yesterday (a Friday). The person who was to be my supervisor called and said that the workweek ran Sunday to Saturday, could I come in and work on Friday to go over some things and to train with another worker. I got there and was thrown on to the floor at Sam's Club, after having the cart quickly set up and rolled onto the floor. I was told when lunch was, but no one came to relieve me, so, as I was in a "lonely" area of the store, I continued to work hoping someone would notice me. Keep in mind that there are no clocks around, and we are not allowed to have cell phones or watches on our person when working. As for a person to train me, there was no one. The woman who was supposed to do that instead came over and yelled at me asking when I took my break. I explained that no one relieved me, and I didn't know what time it was anyway. This woman was not the supervisor, but she, another woman, and the supervisor spent that day walking around the store chatting. Also to note that two out of the three of them weren't wearing black and white, as we were instructed to do. At the end of the day, and I also wasn't told that it was a 6 hour shift, I was expecting 4 hours, but anyway, as expected, no one came to tell me my shift was over, and I was greeted with the f bomb by the same girl who was supposed to be training me. I then was told I had to help others clean up by doing dishes, which I did not dirty. I then was asked about my paperwork, which no one told me how to do. Another woman, not the one who had stressed me out the entire day, quickly started scribbling things as if to "fake it" so I wouldn't get into trouble. Then, the supervisor says she wanted to make sure I knew how to do the time clock. I logged on to her i-pad and was told to put in that I had worked 360 minutes. As another person said before, you are actually there longer than that. I ended up working through the unpaid break I was supposed to get because no one relieved me, and I barely had time to use the restroom and grab a snack when I tried to take a break. I was told that I did not listen - however, no one took the time to explain anything. Then, the supervisor said "oh, and you need to check your schedule here, and you are coming in tomorrow at 11:15." Now, she had only told me I was coming in "briefly" to train on a Friday - nothing about Saturday, so I made an appointment for Saturday which it was too late to cancel (I would have been charged on my credit card for a missed appointment, and I can't afford to pay for services I don't show up for). I told her the situation and was told, well, that's too bad, because I'm not giving you the day off. Well, wouldn't it have been nice to be told I had the day on earlier in the week once they got the result of the drug test and said they wanted to move on with my possible employment. So, I got home and returned the call from Crossmark's 1-800 number regarding associate support and could I answer a few questions as to how I liked my job. So, I called back and told them. They instructed me to call my supervisor and say that I could not come in and that she should have informed me of my schedule for the entire work week, not just told me what my first day was. So, I called her and apologized and said that I could not change my plans, but that I could work my next scheduled day, which is tomorrow (Sunday). She rudely said, "So, this means you aren't reporting to work on Saturday." again I said I was sorry that I was not able to and that had she given me appropriate notice, I would not have made other appointments. She was like, and I quote, "Well, whatever, just fine! Let me tell you this, this is not the way for a person to start a new job." I simply said I'd see her Sunday, but what I should have said was "I agree, it is not a good way to start a job when you are given no training, no meal break, and no consideration that you are a human being." I would be better off working minimum wage as a cashier at the mall than dealing with this for 11.25 an hour. the 3 dollars more per hour simply aren't worth my stress level. I don't know how long I'll last. The worse part is that the regional manager, who hired me, is new to the company, a really positive person, wants to make a difference, and these people who have been there longer are not kind to her, and I heard several comments about her behind her back. I thought it was just this store, which just opened, but I happened upon this site and realize that this wasn't an isolated incident. Crossmark definitely has issues, and unfortunately, by the time these new regional supervisors fix it, and I believe this lady and the other gentleman I met have sincere intentions, most of the employees will have moved on elsewhere. To be truthful, they need to get rid of the supervisor where I am at, she is bitter that she was moved to this store, and she doesn't hesitate to tell anyone who will listen that she hates this store, hates the new hires, and furthermore she hates Sam's Club.
i only have 1 week in with this company so far. i cannot get paid for the work i have already done which is irritating me. i do not understand sales trak, and when i called "field support" to get some answers, i got harrassed and condemned instead. my "in-store' boss tells me to start work, and the big wigs behind the computer have no work "dropped in" my sales trak. not only that but the people i work with completely and rudely ignore me. if i do not get the money for the 17 hoursi have already put in, i will be filing a suit. i will not be ignored and undermined like this. there is zero communication with these poeple because you talk to a different person everytime.
I just started with Crossmark recently. I was told the furthest I would have to drive was once per week to a town about an hour or so away. Wrong. Last week I had to travel to said town twice, not to mention several others that are an hour our so away. I drove over 600 miles in 4 days last week.
Every single day I have to call Field Support to get my mileage corrected. Their software conveniently rearranges your trips to their advantage. Seriously, I have called EVERY SINGLE DAY since I started. They are supposed to count the time from your home to your first store as "commute time" and the same on the back end (when you leave your last store) A perfect example - I worked a store close to my house, then drove to one that was an hour+ away, then stopped at another store closer to my house on the way home. They reversed the 2nd and 3rd stores so that they could deduct additional mileage and drive time so that they wouldn't have to pay me.
I was in Sam's club in Pleasantville NJ yesterday and was very dissatified with the way that one of your employees was handing -promfood and suppose to be top on sanitation. And one of the most rude person ever.Cross Mark needs to evaluate thier employee on cleaning and argumental.
I was employed at Crossmark for 9 years. I was terminated about 29 months ago. I was trying to get my job back recently. I hear from my friends because of the pandemic Crossmark was looking for help. I emailed Crossmark on Saturday. I heard back from them on Monday October 4, 2021. I had an interview scheduled for Tuesday. About 10:30 AM on Tuesday my interview was abruptly cancel by the manager which is unfair to me. The reason given I wasn’t going to be hire back. I did nothing wrong. I would like a second chance to prove I have it in me to work for them again. If you so short of help why hire back people who use to work for you. You don’t offer them a job one day & the next day you say to the person you aren’t good enough for us. It makes the person you offer the job to feel you aren’t good enough. That is wrong. This was 29 months ago people do change. I change for the better. But Crossmark stupid and won’t let me prove this to them.
There was a supervisor at Crossmark at Sam’s Club in Waukesha. Name Brandilyn Hajduk she didn’t know how to treat her employees. I had 9 years of event specialist experience because I didn’t have chicken that up temperature I was terminated for that. The people I was serving got so mad they complain to Sam’s Club about me. I wasn’t serve undercooked chicken it would have made them sick this was on Sunday June 9, 2019. The next day I was suppose to work was June 11, 2019. I called Ms. Hajduk she told me you don’t work at Crossmark anymore. I was suppose to speak to Randell Ross he wasn’t on the phone. I don’t think he knew about this. I recently try to get my job back after 29 months. I feel Ms. Hajduk did things to prevent me from coming back she is a terrible person she has NO COMPASSION FOR HER FELLOW HUMAN BEING. I found recently she quit Crossmark when to Walmart. I wish Walmart would find out she did and she would be terminate like I was. And no chance of getting her job back.
