While checking out at the Dollar General in Fayette I was disappointed in employees lack of customer service skills. As well as the Driveline Employee that was also present. I have been in that store numerous times and this is the second time where I have been in the situation where there is a line of three or more customers at the self checkout, the DG employee and Driveline staff is casually complaining or just simply chatting while the line grows longer and no one is working at the regular check out to assist the customers in moving through the line faster. I have also been to the store and on different occasions asked for assistance and the Driveline employee always has different phrases of generally saying that is not her job because she is not DG staff but does not help her find the relevant employee needed.
I have been in plenty of Dollar General locations and this is the only one where it seems that the new self checkout is a way for employees to avoid helping customers check out the regular register when it is busy and they simply are too busy talking.
Desired outcome: Improvement on customer service skills and better identification in uniform to separate from the store they are working in.
