I have today received a visit from a marketing manager of ecoseal. To start with he was quite nice and measured my windows that we wanted and then started to write the quote. He wasn't sure of prices so had to ask the finance lady who came with him. After an hour he gave me three prices for various grades of window deals. I said I would not give a decision tonight as I wanted to get further info on the company and also get other quote. He was happy with this but then kept asking if we were serious about having windows, after saying yes numerous times, he kept dropping the price. In all the price was dropped over £2, 500 for the high spec windows. This was great but still I would not accept until I had further quotes and checked out their company. After a further hour of listening to him trying to get me to sign up I had to be rude and tell them that he was getting on my nerves and if he kept ramming these windows down my throat I would not buy from them and go else where as he was getting on my nerves trying to get me to sign up. He then said he would go back to his original quote (which I find a bit of a con) because I wouldn't sign up there and then. After over 2 hours they finally left and I did tell them that I wouldn't use them for my windows as I found him to be very pushy and I was sorry I wasn't an old lady that was easily pushed about. He was a bully and very very pushy. I didn't like his attitude at all. It was his idea to get all things in writing and check things out but was not happy when I wanted to do this to his company. After checking his company I found that there website is too brief for anyone to choose them and also there are a lot of complaints on different websites about their sales peoples attitudes.
Having had the house painted with echo-seal paint which they recommended and which a 15 year guarantee was promised, on e-mailing them several times, they have NOT replied since an e-mail from them stating that it would 6 weeks or so to gather the necessary information.
It is now 2 months! This leads me to wonder if the company is solvent and about to declare bankruptcy.
Are there any views on this? Can I claim a rebate for part of the money that i paid?
