Our much awaited Tuscany trip had to be aborted because airline cancelled our flight from Brussels to Florence the day before we were scheduled to depart. Three hours on the phone with the airline did not get us anywhere. The best they could do was put us on a wait list for a flight two days later than our original travel date. No guarantees that we would reach Florence in time for our Tuscany Gate 1 trip. With broken hearts, we had to cancel the whole trip. Gate 1's travel insurance company (Arch) has not been very easy to work with. No way to contact them via telephone. They keep asking for same information oveer and over again. We submitted everything we had to them within a week of putting the claim in (Claim #TVLC156189623). We've traveled with Gate 1 five times before this and always purchased insurance 'cause they say cancel for any reason. Well, we had good reason to cancel this trip and we're going thru this nonsense. We would have gladly accepted a credit from Gate 1 for future travel but it wasn't offered. Sad but we won't trust traveling with Gate 1 again. Things happen and we expect something back when purchasing insurance. Not a song and dance and delay tacticts. We are very upset at this point. No trip and out a lot of money. We are not young - 68 and 70, respectively and sitting in an airport for two days with the "possibility" of a flight was not an option for us. Very upset here.
Desired outcome: The desired outcome is for the insurance company to pay up or for Gate 1 to give us a credit for a future trip with them. We've always loved Gate 1 - they are great when things go smoothly.
