We had a side by side Monogram refridgerator installed last year with our kitchen remodel. Just after one year of it being in service, both the freezer and refridgertor no longer cooled to temp. As it was under warranty, we called GE Customer Service. They were absolutely no help since there are no techs in the Scottsdale/Phoenix area who are certified warranty experts with GE. So we had to go with a certified warranty third-party — and this is where the nightmare begins. Our appliance broke on Wednesday. On Thursday, a certified tech came out and said that the problem was with the sealed condenser but he was not certifed to fix it. Then on Friday, another tech came out and said the problem was an evaporator fan. But, they don't carry parts so it would have to be ordered. It was ordered and we had requested 'next day' delivery as we were supposed to leave for vacation the following week. Well, vacation cancelled. No part. And no service date until next Tuesday. That will put us at 15 days without a luxury appliance from GE Monogram. We bought the Monogram appliances because they were Made in the USA. Such a disappointment from a company that should represent American made in a positive way. The service advocates at GE are useless since they have NO resources such as service techs or means to order/deliver parts. If you are doing a high-ed remodel, absolutely do not buy Monogram appliances.
Desired outcome: We requested an extended warranty which is a bit of a joke as there are no service techs in the Scottsdale/Phoenix area dedicated to GE Monogram warranties.
