The George S. May International Company has been in operation for over 80 years. They claim to be a Management Consulting Company but are really nothing but a Scam. They offer an inexpensive ($200 to $500) Analysis of your company. This Analysis provides nothing in writing, only a warning your company will go Bankrupt if you don't purchase a Consulting Project that costs a minimum of $5000.00 per day, and will bleed you till you either go under or you run them out of your business. All they offer can be purchased through Quick Books at a fraction of the cost. These are bad, bad people.

I must completely agree with post (Alfred 6-11). George S. May stole thousands of dollars (over 40k). They have a 3 level sales pitch. First; your cold called. Second; the a fore mentioned inexpensive analysis ($200-$500) and finally (if your gullible enough like I was) they move a large team straight into your office. Throughout my experience they moved people in and out quickly all the while promising that results where just around the corner. All that I have is a shiny binder filled with useless info and a few ideas that I ultimately gave them in the first place. Be wise and run. If anyone is aware of a class action lawsuit against these guys please post info here!

George May Co is the biggest scam going. They came into our office and the lady they sent in ending up taking alot of maoney from us, we almost lost are business because of them. We are now in the middle of trying to prosecute her.
This company needs to be put out of business. They do nothing but ruin lives..

I was taken advantage of last week by these crooks. They are totally high pressure scam artists! Everything they say you can figure out yourself for a whole lot less money through Quick Books and your accountant. If you hear the name George S May, kick them out of your business as fast as they came in. NEVER let them do an analysis of your business or sign an aggreement with them because they will take you for every dime you have and possibly sink your business. I am out $3, 600 bucks! And will do everything I can to prosecute them. Someone needs to take them to the absolute highest level of court and put them out of business. I am going to do everything I personally can to stop these scammers!

Just a question since I have used them in the past and had a fairly decent experience with them. I am now feeling I could use some outside advice and when they called last week I signed up to a meeting with an analyst tmrw. The former post states that they could have found out all the information given to them by the May company in Quick Books. Can you elaborate what that is? Your post sounds like you probally dont have a very sofisicated business. What industry are you in? Also what types of things did the May company do for you? Your statement is just really vague. I need details! Otherwise posts like this just make you sound like a emotional fool.

William...do not go to training with them. I was called by them to go to training and by the way...they dont hire you until you go to training. Its a one way ticket so they "claim" they can send you on your first assignment after training but its really to put you in a position were you cant say "no". Before I went I asked a few questions about the expenses and they got really rood and said that I guess I am not a good fit. Until this time, I had a ticket to go to training and they really laid it on thick. All I asked was why the one way ticket had "0" bags listed on the ticket. I was going to be gone more than a week. They indicated that I can fit it all in a carry-on. I explained that there is no way for me to fit a week or more on clothing in a carry-on so they said just pay for it and they would reimburse me...I asked they just to call and add a bag to the ticket and they said they didnt know how to do that? Red flag went up right away since all of the sales people were flying all over the US. After I persisted on adding the bag, they told me I was not a good fit and hung up on me. I am glad they did that because it saved me a lot of my own money. DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY!

Thank God we googled George S May and checked the BBB - they have an F rating and 94 complaints. My boss took the call & the appt and they came out and did the $100 evolution. I was very suspicious that they came out for the sales pitch on Friday and we had to agree to do the evaluation by Monday, so I did some research. Well, they interviewed all the employees, took notes and basically told my boss all his employees were worthless, could all be replaced, recommended he cut payroll. On the other hand told my boss he did way too much work and built him up to be a king of a terribly managed office. I intervened and forwarded all the information to my boss. When it came to sign the contract I told my boss to tell the sales rep that we wanted a week to decide and for our lawyers to review the documents...this incensed the sales guy. He spent 3 hours trying to convince my boss, so my boss finally turned him over to me and I put him in his place. The guy totally came unglued. It was clear to us that he was mad that we found out they were frauds. Imagine if we wanted to genuinely wait a week, after their fit, there would be no way we would move forward. They are rip off artist...traveling scam group that roll into an area and try and strike fast before you know what is going on and mile you out of tens of thousands of dollars. Thanks for $100 business review May company.

Agree- George S May is a high pressure rip off. They fooled the manager/owner of a restaurant I am a partner in.
The sales guy sold the deal on Friday and by Monday had 3 "consultants" onsite billing an outrageous fee.

The services and recommendation they provided were only slightly better than worthless. And the billing was extravagant. They billed 3 hours to do a "pour study" on our bar drinks. Well the information was easily available in the Point of Sale system and how much liquer we used that night- maybe 15-30 minutes worth of work.

Additionally the manager went in saying that he only wanted to spend about $8-10k on a consulting engagement. Before we could push them out the door the bill was 40, 000. Additionally they won't leave until you sign a document that says you are 100% satisfied and that until you sign the document they are still billing you. Once you sign the document it is difficult to take action.

they appear to prey on unsophisticated business owners who are trying to improve their business.

I would not do any business with this company what so ever, they are a total rip off and the high pressure sales people they send are not they type anyone wants to deal with. I am in the Idaho area and I had a salesman that was really trying to be slick, after he left I googled his name and he was arrested in Nevada for trying meet a underage girl and it was a sting operation. So I guess that says it all.

I worked for them in the 1990's. I set the records for Closing & Billed:Sold Ratios & Client satisfaction ratings. I was the advanced Analyst Trainer. There were bad apples at George, many many more at IPA et al. But there were also some very good people that did incredible work that saved jobs, companies, marriages, and lives. The clients who were hurt were either lied to or not fully educated by a new/inexperienced Analyst. I only had a handful of clients over 5+ yrs. with GSMIC that did not require some of our services. The need is there. The delivery takes training, experience, and talent. First of all the job and travel would beat a hearty mule and break-up Caesar's marriage! Of 750 trainees/yr, 700 would washout after 2 weeks in the field, 48 would be gone by 6 mo., 1 or 2 might stick for 1+yr. Many of the policies that are criticized are actually quite valid ... All clients are "addicted" to bad habits. Any addiction facility has its patients start right away they don't get to schedule the visit some time in the future when it is more convenient. But our process, where there was an avg. of $400k/yr at stake, was seen as High Pressure Sales. I never threatened or pressured anyone, I did show clients' the issues, the costs, and the proof and asked them how long they wanted this to continue? 99% thanked me and made a fortune with the tools and training that I gave and SOLD them.
