This company is a legal scam. I ordered a free cd and only had to pay $1.98 for shipping. Somewhere hidden in the terms apparently they state they will charge you $69.95 if you don't cancel in a certain time frame. When you try to call them you get a voice mail by from someone who barely speaks english. I don't expect a call back and I will probably be out the 70.00 bucks. I have learned a lesson though. I will never order off of sites like that again. File the claim with your bank and cancel your credit/debit card and order a new one. I wouldn't be surprised if outfits like this sell your info.

I am going to have my bank dispute the charge. This company is ridiculous. I wish I would have read these complaints prior to doing this. The number I got from my bank was [protected]. These are times when people need to hold onto to every dollar that they have.

I'm afraid I fell for Grant Funding Search also. I paid the $1.99 for the FREE cd. Several days later I get the CD. I also notice a charge on my account for $69.95 which I did not authorize. My fault for not checking them out first. Everyone should know about this outfit. I would warn anyone to do some solid checking before they sign on for a product or service. How do I go about getting my money back ?

Sorry about my bad spelling above.
We need to file a class action against these guys.
My bank WAMU is hopefully going to reverse the charge but I actually had to print out this page and send it to the fraud dept. I have no other information about the company. They do not respond.

I also purchased the CD for the amount of $1.98 only. on 1/20/2009 I also had a charge $69.95 deducted from my account. I have tried calling, only to be on hold and then get disconnected. Please advise on this scam.
Thank You

JUST an FYI about all the "Free Government Money" scams...All the grants are out there from the Feds, but 99% of the time are grants to States or Local Governments so they in turn can either complete a project or LOAN the money to small businesses. Unless you are a government or a non-profit, DO NOT BUY! ( I am an economic Development Director and work for a local government)
You can search for free on your own for all the grants the Federal Government has to offer at grants.gov

[protected] this is the phone number that was listed on my online bank account from when they charged me $69.95 without my permission for a cd that I never even got. They are scam artists who are based out of the phillipines. When you call this they constantly mute the phone so you cant hear the background noise, which consistes of other people battling with the reps to get there money back.

This number works I called them several times yesterday trying to get my money back, and I told them I will call them over hour of everyday harassing them, cursing them until they give me my money back.

The website said for 1.98 I could purchase a disc to find out about gov. grants. There was nothing on the site the said about charging my account for $69 dollars and change. I have emailed this company with my request to refund my money without response and I have also called my bank to see what I can do about this unauthorized withdrawal.

Just an update for anyone interested who has filed a complaint with this company. I am filing Fraud charges with my bank. They advised me to return the CD with a return receipt request. Then the bank will take the Fraud charge information. The toll free phone number that is on their Web Site is in the Philipines. I have some names of people I've talked to there and they would not give me any information as to a possible business license #. I am pursuing this company (as I hope all of you will also do) by sending letters to government offices, my local television station, the internet people (AOL, AT&T etc.) and the Better Business Bureau in hopes of stopping this company. We cannot just sit around and let them rip us off.

I can be added to this group! I too was scammed. I used to work for the bank and I feel like an idiot for falling for this. I too called and they refused refund and said that I didn't cancel in time and that I should have read the fine print...what fine print? I am going to contact the FBI too. I just want my money back. I just discovered this over the weekend and it's going to cause my account to overdraw. THEY NEED TO BE STOPPED!

I tried this Grant Funding Research website as well, but I did check out the very fine print that is hidden but says that you only have 7 days to cancel then they start charging your credit card the $69.95.

This is a total SCAM, because they NEVER send you the CD until AFTER your 7 day trial and AFTER they hit your credit card. I know because I called on the 7th day and was lied to by their customer service, that my CD was on the way and would arrive the next day,
I canceled on the 7th day, and have NEVER seen a CD, so it was NEVER mailed!

This same company ripped off my Daughter for the $69.95 also.
There are tons of other web sites with this same SCAM, all about
Free Money or Gov. Grants. Our government needs to get with the 21st century and make laws for crooks on the internet and stop
these types of SCAMS!

I had 58.61 taken out of my account and did'nt know what for they said I agreed to a 1.98 carge for a trial period, which I didn't, I called the day it was charged to my account and they said I had to cacel before 12/24/2008 sense I didn't know about it I couldn't cacel, I didn't knowabout until 1/27/2009 when it showed up on my account. I called several times and got hold of them the first time and they said they would refund it so I watched for it. When I seen it was not credited back I called again it rang for ever finally someone answered and said I wasn't getting a refund because I did not cacel it by 12/24/2009. I feel that companys sould not baable to do that you sould be ward befor the charge is made to your account to have time to cancel it not be told after you can;nt anymore. I never used any search agent.

I hit the same scam and I am in the process of getting all information to the FBI. I happened to print the screen and information when I paid with my debit card, the $1.98 for shipping and handling. There is nothing that states that they will be charging me for a "membership" in seven days. They also gave my information to another "financial" company who took $29.95 out of my account. This company agreed to refund my money. But this is illegal. Hopefully the FBI can do somethin. I printed all these complaints as well and will fax them to the FBI. I wish everyone luck with this situation.

I have not received a CD or anything else, however I did go to the site to see what they were offering and since have been charged $1.98 and one week later $69.95. I reported it to my bank because I did not authorize these charges.
I amleaving it to the bank to recover the charges but I have also put a notice on my account to not accept any charges.

I did the same think, I went to internet to look for a private school for my daughter and there was this advertisement about free money from the goverment for education, so I click to the icon and lead me to a web were I register and said that for $1.98 I will receive a free cd, what I did, but a few days after I was charged to my card with $69.95, I never read or auhorized nothing like that, so I called them and they said they cannot give me my money back, but now I found this page and figure out that was not only me, can somebody do something about this people? Oh, and by the way I enter again to the webs for private schools in WPB and the advertisement is not there any more, and that was a week ago.

Well add me to the gullible list! I called myself researching before I chose this company to order the CD from. I found a website called Grant-Funding.org that listed this company and two others offering FREE CD's for a low shipping fee and NO other cost. And yesterday, I like everyone else above found out that these theives had stolen $69.95 from my charge card without my knowing. I just received the CD 4 days ago and havent even looked at yet...and I dont know what they are talking about a website that I could have been using all this time. There is NOTHING on the entry websites that I accessed to obtain this CD that say anything about a $69.96 monthly charge! I have provided the links below. If you click on the TERMS link at the bottom of the website, you dont get a webpage -- like it has been removed.

the people at grant funding search are thieves, plain and simple ! i was thought i was paying $1.98 for a 7 day trial on a CD . i signed up on 1/22/09, i got billed for $1.98 on 1/29/09, then i got billed for $69.95 on 1/30/09 ! the CD finally showed up on 2/3/09 . i wish i had seen this complaint site before i tried this . if antone has any idea how to get their money back, please let me know . these people should be locked up ! the only reason they are not locked up yet is because they use a computer instead of a gun ! different weapon, , same result ! On 1/26/2009 I was charged $1.98 for a CD from Grant Funding Search. I had spoken with a man from the company and told him that they were not authorized to charge me any money and I did not want to enroll in their program. I now have a charge of $1.98 and my account and do not want additional charges from this company.

I also have ordered a C.D for $1.98 and then suddenly over a week later charged $69.95. The website that i originally ordered from is magically gone now as i have searched for it with no luck. The worst thing is we called them and finally reached someone that sound Mid-Eastern. The only thing they would say is we agreed to something. No matter what we said, we agreed. Then they commented 7 days to stop the charge from happeneing. There was no way or chance to stop the charge as they did not state anything about a 69.95 charge to begin with. The c.d was also ordered in December to my knowledge and still have not even received it today. We have Communityone bank in our town a small brance. We called them to dispute the charges. They claim they tried but once they contacted the grant funding they claimed that we made an agreement and then the bank placed the 69.95 charge back onto our account. At this time some bills were paid for and this time the charge caused us a overdraft charge on our account. I support anything that needs to be done here. It is not about the money now, it is about the principle of taking action agains't the scammers. They need to be stopped and brought to justice. Any ideas or suggestions is that we all that have had problems with this outfit, needs to go to the State attorney general and report them. We all need to group and stick together here. The Attorney General if they get enough complaints on this will pursue them. Trust me i know as i have had past experience with them and they really do get the job done. If anyone here needs me to sign anything agains't these people, i will be happy to help in any way i can.

I'm with you, Eric! Maybe we should start a class-action lawsuit against them. And I also want to comment that contacting the BBB is a very good idea when something like this happens, as well as the States Attorney's office in your state. The Illinois Attorney General's office also helped me to get my money refunded and I DID! However, Eric, you are so right that this does not prevent these companies from damaging other people's finances, even if one of us DOES get compensated for our unintended, temporary lapse of good sense. I'm in with all of the rest of you if someone has any ideas about how we can pursue a class action. Unfortunately, private lawyers cost too much money, and will not engage in your problem until you pay them. Class actions generally do not bill on a contingency basis. So the Attorney General might take them on if enough people bombard them with complaints. But remember, our former president and his buddy, Cheney, have screwed us for years and years to come. The laws they've put in place to "help" their moneyed friends and businesses across the country and the globe, were at OUR EXPENSE! It started 8 years ago with THEM! Now everyone's got GIANT balls b/c they know they're going to enjoy alot more unjust enrichment before the laws get changed, before someone does something about it. I hope that soon, both Bush and Cheney will decide to go take a trip overseas during their retirement - maybe one or both will end up in one of the countries that wants to try them both for war crimes. That would suit me just fine - punishment for the mess they created of the people of this great country, punishment for the thousands of many young lives lost because of their greed and lust for power. Again, if you voted for these creeps, thank them yourself. Grant research companies are only a tiny fraction of the style of doing business that has become the 'norm' in the US because of our former fearless leaders.

You'd think some concumer advocate attorney would pick up on all this ### fraudulent business and file in federal court for an injunction - then follow that up with a tasty lawsuit - maybe even get it certified for a class-action.

People - I'd suggest you write to the attorney general of the state the company is domiciled in - the AG can and should investigate - then maybe file felony fraud charges against these ###.

I'm writing this just as a friendly piece of consumer advice. The rest is up to you guys.

Good luck!

I noticed that i had a pending transaction on my account from this company, so I called the customer service number on their website. I was fuming and very upset and had my debit card closed to prevent them from taking anymore money. Then when I talked to someone (after waiting quite a while on hold) who was very nice and also spoke english (this i did not expect). He told me that I would be refunded for everything within 3-5 business days. This site IS legit. I paid 1.80 or so to use it, but did not know that it was only a free trial for 7 days. after the 7 days you are charged 58 or so dollars. But, I sent them an email and told them I wished to cancel it, and they never did! The only thing I could tell anyone having a problem with this is to call the customer service number found on the website. I was very upset and angry about the whole matter, but they did refund me my money. Also, make sure that you cancel your account on the site itself
