These people are liars and cheats. They have lied about everything from the word go. We thought we were buying this home on a "Lease to own". We were naive about the process and were told by Lynn Paul who works for them that this would be our home. Well our paperwork says lease and mentions nothing about buying. Our heater has not worked since we moved in. She said she had to check with her boss. Never heard back. They NEVER answer their phones or respond to text messages. Our floor is sinking, all the wood under our house is rotten, our water pipe busted. Our sons ceiling fell when the earthquakes happened. They've done nothing. Our taxes and insurance were supposed to be included in the rent and the paperwork has never been finished, These people have had over 168 lawsuits filed against them but the complainants never show for court. Our electric bill was $375.00 for Jan and our entire family is stuck sleeping in the living room to stay warm. They are horrible people who buy nearly condemned property and unload it on hard working unsuspecting people. PLEASE DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.

I moved into a habitat home in October of 2011. My husband and I have did numerous repairs and paid every month on time until he lost his job. A week after he was jobless we received a notice about unpaid taxes and were told the house was on an auction list and was informed the house would be auctioned off in June if the taxes weren't paid. After I explained we were "buying" the house we were told it was probably better to contact an attorney. We did contact an attorney. I discussed the issue with Stacy who works for habitat and she promised me I had nothing to worry about and that the taxes were being taken care of. A month later still nothing was paid, and I told Lin Paul I wasn't comfortable paying any more money if they couldn't provide me with proof the taxes had been paid. She then cussed me out and told me to get the h*ll out of her hose and off her property. So we moved out the 2nd week of !arch. Every since we moved my husband has been receiving harassing and threatening phone calls from Lin saying we demolished their best property and they were filing charges! When we moved out there was nothing wrong with the house. Lin went to my mothers house who lives at a habitat property and told her to tell my husband to turn himself in because the police nd immigration was looking for him. My husband isn't legal and I'm not gonna lie and say he is but we have spoken with attorneys and decide
d to move forward in the process to change all that! Every contact and reference we had listed on our application has been called and told the same thing about my husband. We have done nothing wrong, we have not demolished anything, and we are trying to move on after this whole ordeal. The bad thing is that they won't stop harassing my husband and everyone we know. I don't understand how these people can scam good people and get away with it!? Is there honestly nothing that can be done? Please anybody who has seen there promises on the Internet or are thinking of doing business with them please just RUN! THESE ARE NOT GOOD PEOPLE!

The people that are making "complaints" about Habitat4Hope are doing so only simply because they are upset that they are being evicted for not paying their rent. The complainants never make it to court because they know they broke their lease, didnt pay, and their accusations will not hold up in court. None of these accusations ever have.

Habitat4Hope offers the best prices in town for "as-is" homes. If you want a perfect house, go pay much more somewhere else. habitat4hope just tries to help low income families that dont qualify anywhere else, but like any business, to stay in business, they must be paid what people owe them.

I am renting from habitat4hope, and theyre great people, they work with me when im late on rent, and the house i have is absolutely great

well I have lived in one of their homes for a couple of months and nothing has been fixed! lots of promises and nothing has happened! also the ridiculous late fees Lynn has been charging us only after 3 days is beyond ridiculous when on the lease it is $10 a day and somehow she has been giving me $200 late fees, believe me this tenant will show up to court and legal aid is now involved! they are scammers and the Obote comment doesn't count considering we all know it is someone who works for this company!

Habitat4Hope employees are horrible people. Lin Paul/Anderson fraudulently created a lease and signed our names and actually tried to use it in court! People are not being evicted because the Cannot pay rent...It's the $200 a month late fees that make it where the tenant can NEVER catch up! They are scam artists and fraudulent people who MUST BE STOPPED BEFORE ANY MORE FAMILIES ARE PUT OUT! We may have settled, but she knows who the real "liars" are, & it's Lin Paul/Anderson and Mark Savage/Doc/Rod Spurlin!

We live next door to one of their homes. I am buying my house (not from them) they do not take care of their homes. Their workers are renters who r behind n rent. They r not insured and do half ads work. ThesE homes are mold infested, and if you complain about it they evict you. These company has changed its name more times then any other company I know. STAY AWAY FROM THEM... They will unload a house on you, not fix it, and then make u homeless... if u go to their door they have a sign that says no news crews allowed and that is because channel 2 has done countless story's on them...

I lived in 1 of their houses for a month & left as fast as I could. They are full of empty promises. I was told I had a fully fenced backyard, the fencing that was there was maybe 5 feet of fencing that looked like it had been walked over repeatedly. There were big dogs in all 3 of the surrounding yards, I couldn't let either of my dogs or my kids go out & play. I was told it would be fixed but that never happened. I had to call them to fix the porch light because when you rent from them they require you to leave it on & we changed the bulb & nothing, it took a week to get someone out to look at it. Lynn sent workers to pick up some things left by old tenants & they had my husband nervous following them everywhere cause they looked like they had a bit of a drug problem. These are not good people. They put on a good front to get your money, then don't follow through. I'm glad I got out of there quickly. I felt very unsafe there. My back door wouldn't even close all the way so we could lock it.

Bug infested. Water busted. Condemned gas appliances. Barely legal and bare minimum heating but condemned due to only source of heat, inside open flame gas heater with no exhaust ventilation. . broken fence and electrical problems that cannot be addressed in spite of numerous attempts and pleas, miscellaneous unnamed fees on top of late fees added in spite of not being late. Obvious drug drug addicts who seem to completely freak out if they can't get money as agreed. Unprofessional, unpredictable, absent management when needed. Always available when rent is due. Slumlord. To finish...they do work with you at times of need when making financial alternative payment plans. But it comes at high cost. All in all. A great company for those in poverty or have bad history and have nothing else to resort to. Scale of 1-10 . A 10 if 1 is homeless. And 9 is the homeless shelter.
