I choose Homeland Health Care for medical insurance because they accepted me with a pre-existing condition, high blood pressure. Assured me this would not be a problem. I started with them in August 2011. I used my insurance for the first time on March 31, 2011 and when the bill wasn't paid I found out I had been switched to another company. I never received any information regarding this new insurer. I was mailed a new card and package and refiled my claim. I was then informed that this company didn't accept people with pre-existing conditions. I was then given the run around. Every time I contacted Homeland I am given a different answer. In the mean time it is now August and it is still not paid due to my pre-existing condition. They didn't seem to have a problem collecting over $3000.00 from me and refuse to pay a bill under $200. I was told by a supervisor that if I didn't receive a the new package I should complain to the post office. This isn't limited health insurance, its no health insurance. Save yourself time, frustration, and money and avoid this company.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I had the same issue with them. I was told 100% Coverage and nothing is really covered.
Homeland doesn't switch you to another insurance. Your agent did that. And fmwinchester, do you really think you're going to pay so little and have EVERYTHING covered 100%? Come on...do you know how much it is a month for a major medical policy to do that? Don't be foolish...the insurance company didn't scam anyone...the agent who sold it lied to you & you bought into it. Be mad at yourself for believing such ridiculousness!
I am looking to file a class action suite against them. If you have been scamed send me your story and contact info to sacacon@gmail.com. There is someone commenting on the reports people are posting here and it seems it may be someone from Homeland posting their own comments. There are issues with ICU and not paying their claims and them selling you a policy then switching you when your pre exiosing clause is about to end.and moving you to another insurance carrier with a new Pre Exisign clause so you never really get any coverage.
