This review was chosen algorithmically as the most valued customer feedback.

I received credit card offer called horizon gold credit card. I filled out the application and found out that it was a scam because they said it was a credit card. Instead it is not. There is no listed phone number for the company. I do not know what to do because they charge my credit 79.95 within one day. I do not want this card. There is no customer service person to talk to.

Beware!

Ok now everyone seems to be going crazy with the word SCAM this card is not a scam if you would read the terms and conditions on the second page in the disclaimers in all capital letters it states:

"2. Disclaimers. HORIZON CARD SERVICES™ IS NOT A CREDIT SERVICES ORGANIZATION, BANKING INSTITUTION OR INSURANCE COMPANY, NOR IS IT AFFILIATED WITH ANY CREDIT SERVICES ORGANIZATION, BANKING OR INSURANCE INSTITUTION. THIS PRODUCT IS NOT A VISA, MASTER CARD, OR DEBIT CARD. THE HORIZON OUTLET CARD™ ACCOUNT IS A LINE OF CREDIT THAT CAN BE USED BY AN ACCOUNT HOLDER TO SHOP EXCLUSIVELY AT OUR ONLINE SHOPPING WEBSITE. THERE ARE NO DOWN PAYMENT REQUIREMENTS FOR PURCHASES AT OUR WEBSITE. HORIZON CARD SERVICES™ DOES NOT FACILITATE, NOR PROVIDE ASSISTANCE IN OBTAINING CREDIT FROM ANY OTHER CREDIT-ISSUING ENTITIES. HORIZON CARD SERVICES™ DOES NOT CHARGE AN ADVANCED FEE TO ESTABLISH CREDIT, NOR DOES HORIZON CARD SERVICES™ ATTEMPT, OR CLAIM TO ATTEMPT, TO ESTABLISH, RE-ESTABLISH OR REPAIR ANY CUSTOMER CREDIT HISTORY. No i know for a fact that this is printed in "2" font sizes bigger then the rest of the terms and for everyone calling this a scam. How could you not read before you sign up for something if you would like to blame a company for your mistake then fine fight it and lose just like everyone else has.

Thank you for your time.

Well, don't be too hard on the person calling this a scam. I got a card in the mail saying to sign up online and it says on the damn card CREDIT CARD-so... They are lying to a certain extent.

"Thank you for your time."

I bought a horizon gold credit card, but can't use it. Because no website to put in card number in www.horizonoutlet.com and no other payment space for a credit card has only a card number. You have to put in a security code and expiration date too. It also has no logo. I tried to use it at a pharmacy too and it wouldn't work.

Beware people!

I contacted the customer service department with the same complaint, they are charging my checking account 14.95 a month for services and I haven't even seen my card. I received an e-mail with a customer service number to reach the company, and here it is for those of you who would like to talk to a real representative.
( Please contact our Member Services at toll free 1.800.251.6144 for immediate
assistance.)
Maybe you will all get some relief! Good Luck.

I just wanted to say I'm thankful I found this web-site because I too was also an "idiot" Like the real Idiot said previously. If you read all the terms and conditions, it does say it is not a visa, or "real credit card" not in those words and it does say it's for use on only their web page. I also tried to find the web page to check out what they had and I couldn't find any such page. It's true though you should never have to pay to get a credit card. It's like those scams of winning a lottery in a country where you never bought a lottery ticket or visited!

Thanks for everyones comments because I almost did it myself.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY AND FOR MILLIE TO SAY IT ISN'T A SCAM. GIVE HER THAT BUT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NOT BAD BUT WHAT IS A WORD UNDERNEATH THAT... THAT IS WHAT IT IS...HERE IS MY EMAIL TO THE GENERAL MANAGER AFTER CANCELING.
My first mistake was not reading the terms and that is on me. But then I took the protocols in order to cancel my membership. Instead of simply canceling my membership when I asked. I was refunded a partial and giving a 100 dollar voucher. I wasn't happy and if the tape can be replayed back over the uncertity ivoice will be heard. I accepted it but I ask the woman can I get my whole refund if I wasn't happy. I called to day and spoke to Dan to cancel. He was trying hard to keep me and when I didn't buy into the 500 dollar increase and wanted my money. After he say that he couldn't get me to stay. He went all 70's slogan with the "Aint no thing but a chicken wing." First of all I will filing a report with BBB on the grounds that he was being prejudice. I don't think he says that and I don't use that language on a day to day basis. He showed poor customer service and I am going to see how far I can take this because it was poor judgement on his part. I was professional about my accounter with him but sly remarks trying to speak the lingo that was significently tied to certain black actors and actresses would say in the 70's and early 80's. I am a single mother and work fulltime in the company have moved my way up. I am also putting myself through school. I don't try to let my race nor gender be my reasons for always using the should've, could've or would've syndrome. So he shouldn't have diluted my character based on that. Also customer service means that the even if it isn't true the customer is always right. If he was finding me difficult he should've just canceled or let another person took my call. I have winesses that heard my arguement. Then after he read my confirmation number he is going to say you are no longer or customer so whatever. I will have this posted with my BBB and [redacted].

Whoever these people are on here that say this isn't a scam are ###ed. I was scammed out of $60 dollars by these @$$holes. What happened to me was, I opened my mail box one day and there was a postcard telling me I was promised a $5000.00 credit line, all I had to do was apply online. That was IT on the card. No fine print, no terms and conditions, NOTHING. I went to the website listed on the card, where it told me to pay a one time $79.99 charge in exchange for the credit line. Well I had a lot of bills to pay so it seemed like a fair deal. When I recieved the card, I realized I had been scammed. It was not a Visa or Mastercard like I had expected. It told me to go to thehorizonoutlet.com to use my credit line. I thought, damn, I cant use it to buy food or gas or pay bills. Oh well, at least I can buy diapers and other things I need for the baby online. But Nooooo...they don't have anything like that there. They have ugly, unwanted and obsolete products for 'sale', probably another company's garbage. Again, I thought, Damn. Well, I did see ONE product I wanted out of the whole website...a crappy hair straightener, which price was 29.99. I thought, well, at least I can get something I want. When I went to the checkout, it wanted a CREDIT CARD to pay for the s&h(which was $16.00)! They wouldn't just deduct it from my $5000 'credit line'. I then realized for sure this company had no credit to extend to me, even on the website. They only money those scam artists had was that of the people conned into paying for the card. I wasn't going to be fooled again into giving them more money! I called them up and they told me they had charged me $99.99, not the $79.99 I agreed to. I demanded my money back, they told me the most they could give me was $40.00 back. At least I got that much back, others were probably not so lucky. Now if that doesn't sound like a scam to you, I sincerely hope you get a catscan soon to make sure you don't have brain damage.

I've done some research on this card. Like some of the bloggers on here have said if you read the terms it does say that it is not a visa or mastercard. Lets be honest most of us never read the fine print . This deceptive company is counting on most of us not reading all the details. Which is our own fault. HOWEVER it is misleading because it says it reports to the 3 major credit bureaus as most major credit cards do SO there is an attempt to be deceptive. If they were a reputable company they would state on their postcard in big bold letters 'NOT A VISA OR MASTERCARD" that would solve the problem of people complaining. If the postcard was upfront from the start then people wouldn't have a gripe but like I said they are hoping we don't read all the terms. The company is obviously not an honest reputable company. Makes you wonder how some people sleep at night. But for all the people who have been scammed just take a little comfort in knowing that what comes around goes around...at some point these scamming bloodsuckers will get theres. Negative energy and knowing that you are trying to scam people on a daily basis is not a good way to make your living.

I was going to try to get this card but I just read reviews on this card and I will not be any longer. It does payoff to read all fine print on anything you ever sign or accept in any kind of case like this or anything period thanks to you guys reviews I just missed out on this horrible bad opportunity card that I thought was something that may actually benefit me and my family well know we know that this was never the attention of the card company if it even does exsist.
