Bought these Itasca boots, last season for hunting- Great boots, but they dont seem to hold up- I only used them for hunting-after season I put them up till this year!
First week and I noticed a rip in the right one-- when I stepped into the first creek-when i got home, I saw two more little cracks that leak also- Ive tried to contact company and cant find them-- I dont think if buy new boots, they should only last 3 weeks!
Am I wrong? I just wanted to know if they would do anything for me!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
The boots are junk. I bought a pair of Camo rubber 1600 gram Thinsulate and with little use, they have cracks in the toe area. Sheldon - Pa.
I have had several pairs of this type of boot...being an outdoor worker I wear them everyday. I have had this boot for two months and the inside of the sole is totally rotted out from getting wet. I will NEVER buy this brand again...it's NO fun having wet feet ALL day in cold weather.
I bought a pair of Snow Stompers for my son late December of 2010. It is now early-February 2011 and the seam where the rubber boot and cloth top meet have split apart and the rubber going down the boot is also ripped on BOTH BOOTS! Unfortunately, I can't return them since it is so late in the season and I probably couldn't find another pair, even on clearance somewhere! I am very disappointed in these boots, I am glad that when I did get them, I got them on sale, oh, I forgot to mention, there are also holes on the bottom of both heels. I just hope we get minimal snow now, and my son can't play in the snow either, or his feet will get sopping wet. The poorest quality boots I have ever seen. I have paid less money for better boots in the past. I think I will stick with that route!
Got my Itasco boots for Christmas. Nice and warm, but the right boot leaks after third time out.
Sorry made stuff these days.
I bought a pair of SwampWalkers last year. This spring I went out maple syruping and had to cross a shallow stream. My feet got soaked. Looked like the rubber in the boots dry-rotted. Pathetic excuse for a pair of boots. Took them back to Gander where I bought them and they gave me store credit (lowest sale price the boots had the past year), and I bought LaCrosse. No more Itasca's for me. Thank you Gander Mtn for your service, but you should drop these boots from your lineup.

bought apair of hunting boots for my twin boys in march this is may and they are cracked all along the foot very disappointed in this product.
I purchases a pair of Itasca hiking boots as a gift for a family member, "Amazon" series. They are junk. They have less than 16 hours on them. On both boots the inner hard plastic lining has pulled away from the ankle of the boot on both pair making them impossible to wear. The outer fabric has frayed at the stitching and to top it off the inner soles on both boots is bunched to the point it is impossible to flatten out. The company is extremely difficult to track down. Whoever left the phone number above, THANKS! I will never purchase Itasca again. We buy boots regularly too. We hunt, farm, hike and ride.
I bet they're made in China.
Itasca Amazon boots...not 5 weeks old...soles alreadys have gaping holes. Worthless.
Wow! I'm glad I found this when I did. I almost paid $80 for a pair of hunting boots at Gander Mountain because they were the most comfortable ones I'd tried on. I hadn't heard of the brand though and wanted to research them a bit. Ended up going to Elliott's and getting a pair of LaCrosse boots based on recomendation from the associate there who stated they were made by Danner, a very reputable company, who stands by their 1 year warranty. Seems Itasca, and their parent company C.O. Lynch, aren't so great. Even their website is jacked. http://www.itascacol.com/
Just found some contact information on an article about a recall they've had to do. Apparently they're being forced to recall a pair of "Steel Toe" shoes because they lied and the toes aren't really steel. Anyway.. here's the contact info provided: Consumer Contact: For additional information, contact C. O. Lynch toll-free at [protected] between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. CT Monday through Friday or via email at itascacol@aol.com
We have bought a pair of the hip style boots, the first pair heel cracked away from the sole and the company replaced them with another pair, the replaced pair did the same thing - - - the heel cracked away from the sole and the store told us to call the corporation, we did and it was useless. The corporate representative called and said "we can't do anything because the original purchase was made more than 90 days ago (time starts counting the day you purchase the boots) Since this came from Gander Mountain and the corporation has refused to refund the money or replace the boots again we will NEVER purchase anything from Gander Mountain or from ITASCA. These boots should last more than one wearing without leaking or cracking! This is another example of MADE IN CHINA CRAP - made in America is MUCH BETTER!

I bought a pair of Marsh Master boots thinking they looked like great boots for Hunting. Was I in for a rude awakening. They started leaking after being worn 3 times the draw stap to tighten boot has come off from under the boot rubber.Brought back to store SORRY CAN'T HELP YOU These are a piece of crap and I suggest never investing in such garbage.
bought 2 pairs of the boots for wife an i-- 3 times wearing them zipper broke on hers- crack on the rubber---
my boots d rings pulled off-- what junk-- never again
I understand how you feel about the racism card, because frankly hunting is a "white mans" sport so there are primarly white customers, so when a black customer does come in it does raise an eyebrow or two. The straw purchase is a big deal though, it happens all the time someone who can't legally purchase a gun (because they're a criminal, illegal alien or just can't pass a background check) and someone goes and buys the gun for them instead. But then you can go and buy a gun for someone as a gift, so I do understand your frustration. A lot of people look at the same guns, all the time so how can they just say oh you must be doing this illegally. I totally understand your frustration, but if you go and pass the background check, then that's fine. But they are looking out for themselves so I understand both sides.
I got a pair of itasca camo boots in october 2011 and they are ripping at the seam and also cracking, leaking. So my opinion of those boots they are JUNK. I do alot of walking during hunting season, the amount of abuse these boots should take while walking or doing whatever they should last alot longer than 3 months. Tomcat
Bought a pair scent free 400 thinsulate ultra Itasca boots sept 2011, wore half dozen time, s cracks at bending points, returned and got replacement pair, same problem, $100.00 boots I guess boots made in china are not for use in the woods in Ontario. Ray.
I bought a pair of boots for my brother-in-law 34 days ago. He has been hiking and bike riding alot and the sole just split in two right under the ball of his foot. I purchased at Dunham's and it was over the 30 day mark so when I called the store they said they couldn't do anything about it. I called [protected] (C.O. Lunch) and they said they only warranty through the store. They were nice enough to call the Dunham's I purchased through and the store manager there said they would work with me. Hopefully that means refund or exchange. At this point I would rather have a refund! I will update after I go to the store and see if it actually works.
I bought Itasca Misty Pony rubber boots and they leaked around where the sole was attached, so I shoe gooed them. then they started cracking where they were molded. They are supposed to be waterproof, but everytime I wear them there is a new crack. they're just junk.
Like everyone else, spent around 120.00 at Canadian Tire for a pair of 800 Gram Thinsulate Itasca rubber boots. Comfortable and relatively warm during fall deer season. However, this is second year and they are cracking at the upper toe area and are basically useless. Tried to voice my concerns with Canadian Tire and as they are more than a year old, nothing they can do for me. Seems like a lot of money for a pair of boots that obviously have a flaw, especially after reading all of the other similar reviews. Certainly will never buy another pair of that brand.
I agree with these comments, this boot company needs to improve its quality control or stop take peoples hard earned money for inferior products. take it back to the store is sometime eaiser said than done. fifty miles away from store and snowed in, plus the store will give you crap
My boyfriend bought me a pair of 1400 gram boots for hunting this year and they are cracked already. We purchased them from Gander Mountain. I am surprised that a retailer would risk selling these boots from the complaints I have been reading here. I only wish we had found this out prior to buying the boots. I attempted to email the company from the Itasca website only to have the email returned! Calling Gander Mountain tomorrow to see if they are going to fix this problem, leaking boots are worthless.
8.5 4j5934000s085 salazar right boot leaks mens size..This leather andnylon upper, 1000g thinsulate insulation, high traction outsole not working.Do i have any play or do i have to not bye any more?
I have a pair of Itasca hunting boot, I have had them for two seasons here in South Carolina. Much of the season here requires snake boots. so my itasca hunting boot only get us in the cold weather months. I was getting in the truck to go hunt this morning boot did not feel right, The sole of the 2 year old boot had dry rotted and there was a gaping hole in the bottom of my itasca boot.. so I had to go back and get my snake boots which put me in the stand later this morning. Not Happy!

Bought boots about a year ago at gander mountain. Only wore for six months. Has workmanship defect on left front boot. Paid 70.00 Dollars for boots for very little use.
There boots are poor quality ripped out on the top of rubber seam . Wore them 2 months
I bought mine at Gander Mountain and have been chasing the cracks with tire patches since the first year. Junk.
Bought a pair of Itasca rubber boots at Tractor Supply. Within about 3 weeks the left boot cracked in the front center, and several days later the right boot cracker there also. Now the boots are so full of cracks in multiple places they are useless. I was happy with the boot and the price when they were new, but it now is apparent that it was just a waste of money. No more Itasca.
This page was very helpful, going to add my experience and hope to help someone else. I bought a pair of Women's Itasca Tundra Boots last winter (2013) wore them a handful of times. Put them on for the 2nd time this winter (2014) and the bottom of the left boot cracked and separated. My foot was soaked when I stepped in a puddle. I paid $60 on sale (originally $80) for these boots and I've worn them less than a dozen times. I used the contact form at itascafootwear.com and received a reply from them, rather quickly, from contact@itascafootwear.com: "We do apologize that these boots have not held up for you as expected and for any inconvenience caused. This is not typical of our product, however, there can be an occasional defect." She asked for the size and said she'd send me a replacement when she received mine. Since they did not have the "Tundra" in stock, she'd send me the "Lutsen" (a boot that retails for about $45 and the only one similar to what I had). I wasn't very happy with that (if my "$80 boots crapped out after a few wears, how's a $45 pair going to be any better?!). What choice did I have? All my boots were good for now was a door stop. So, I sent my boots to her (I had to pay shipping) and the Lutsens were sent to me (I got them within a week of sending mine). They look nice, but I do not plan to wear them (and since my original boots were outside the warranty, I was told these will not be covered under warranty either.) I've learned my lesson. I will be selling them new in the box at my next garage sale and putting the money towards a better brand.
I see a pattern following in the craftsmanship of these boots. I bought a pair on clearance for $65 from their original $159. For the price you would think you are getting some quality. It was warm, dry and comfortable until their unannounced expiry 3 months later just from moving around on the farm. Split, cracked and just a mess. Great breath ability on my new fish gill boots! Don't get fooled with this brand, by look, feel or price. :(
I bought a pair of Itasca fortitude 600 GM camo boots last July 2015 for my boyfriend birthday in November 2015 so. He didn't get them till November. they did last thru Huntington season but he didn't get to hunt much because of his health. Last week the thread on seam is now coming apart. So I called fingerhut about this and they said out of warranty. And they gave me the manufacturer # and they just sent me back to fingerhut . I don't think it's fingerhut problem they didn't make them they just sell them . looks like I'm not going to get any where .
I called the number above and the lady was so helpful. She asked me to send back to them and they will replace them. Thank to Lisa at c.o. Lynch Enterprise. Will update when new ones come .never give up hope
Junk they fall apart without even touching water I would hate to see what happens when they do.I would like replacement, refund, or even an address so I could mail back my christmas gift .sub par materials and craftsmanship I litterly wore them twice and somthing new fell appart each time.
I bought these boots in September 2022 at Scheels in Fargo ND. After only 2 months of Duck hunting these boots have already started to crack and the camouflage around the toe area has already faded! Very disappointing as these boots were $149.99!
Purchased a pair last winter 2021 and they lasted about 2 months then began cracking in the soles and seams which lead to giant holes eventually letting water in. unfortunately no longer wearable. Not worth the money since they don’t hold up long.
