I was called to a house the other day by a dear friend of mine to check out a green mizer energy box that he bought from the company called light power solutions, llc. As i thought he had it installed by a installer from the company and not a liecneces electrican. This brings up a BAD problem for the home owner because it only takes one wrong move in a box to cause fire. I would like everyone to know about this if you buy this product PLEASE get a liecnesce electrican to do the work. This company has no idea what they are doing to people's homes. And for electrian's like myself that are having trouble finding work this makes me mad cause they are not pulling permits and that is wrong.

I would like to say that ALL products that you install on a breaker panel must be done by a electrician or by the home owner. He can not give permission to do this by law. Every state has laws on this so you best check it out before you get a lawsuit on you and your company. I just left the office of the labor and licenseing board of AL to file a complaint on this company and to give pictures of there box and how they installed it on this guy's house. So i guess we will see if your company is doing it right. I think i will file a complaint in a few more state's to just for the hell of it now cause people like to make fun of people that tell the truth and are concerned with other people.

Why does every ex employee of UMA or LIGHT POWER hate GARY and his company.Could it be that he lies to and cheats everyone he ever hires.Could it be that he hides behind glorified yes men such as Greg Rogers and Joe Hammacher.Can anyone say anything nice about This man Gary Light ?.

J Bigg seems to have nothing better to do than sit online and complain. It probably took them 4 weeks because of him. I haven't heard onecomplaint from a customer in North or South Carolina where I work. Granted, people are different, and some not as professional as you'd like them to be. Do us ALL a favor J Bigg, stay on the West Coast.

LPS is in Gaithersburg, Maryland. They are having an Informative Energy Saving Presentation at the Golden Bull Grand Cafe at 7 Dalamar St. Gaithersburg, Md on 1/10/2011 and 1/11/2011 starting at 6:15 PM. I received an invitation and I plan on attending to partake of their free Prime Rib Dinner. Yum! You can make reservations by calling [protected]. I couldn't call them using my office phone at first because the 976 prefix is blocked. I seem to remember that in the past that prefix was used for all porno/sex call lines. I'm not sure if you need to provide a RSVP code, but I think they only use that to identify and track you in their database. I'm sure they would let anyone interested in their product in. Wish me luck. See you at the other end.

JH@LPS posted that he never bankrupted a company? Why does the BBB of northern Indiana alerts of February 2010 list Superior Coatings East, Superior Pools, The home Improvement Sourse, Barrier Reef Pools, Hamacher Energy Reduction Systems and Utility Management Association as companies that he and his wife Sherrie abandoned leaving their customers disatisfied and unhappy with their scam business practices. Maybe Gary Light and Light power Solutions are used to doing business with frauds like Joe Hamacher and tolerate these practices because their president Greg Rogers wont pay people when they leave this scam company.So Joe how do you sue people for telling the truth?BE A MAN and pay people what they are owed when they leave.

Well, I can't comment on Superior Coatings and WON'T comment upon Joe's wife, but I will tell you that UMA and Joe are/were seperate entities. UMA was owned by Gary Light and his wife, Teresa. Look, these products work. I wouldn't be starting a company to sell them if they didn't. I'm not ruining my personal reputation or going to jail for anyone, period.

And Clozer? There was in fact a time (recently) you could pay the BBB for a better rating... until one of the television news shows found out about it. The BBB is NOT an independent organization... it's a business that sells franchises in protected market areas, and has salespeople who sell it's services to business owners, for a profit. And anytime something is sold for a profit it's possible for it to be corrupted.

I use to work for UMA / LPS as an Installer for 5 years. The way I see it is if you do not have any of the Products in your own Home then you should not say anything. Always remember that making money (A PROFIT IS NOT A DIRTY WORD). You are in buisness to make money period. Don't go and buy a set of Tires for your car at one place and then 2 weeks later find the same Tire cheaper 5 miles up the street and exspect me to give you your money back. Everyone on here has said that the Products work. So what is the problem? Just because you don't like someone that works for the Company does not mean anything. What does this have to do with the Products. After 5 years working with the Company I never got the chance to meet Gary Light. I spoke to him several times. No complaints. Buisness is Buisness, so if you don't like the product then don't buy it. No skin off our backs. No matter what the Product is, if it is installed correctly then it should work by Manufactors Standards. So everyone have a Coke and a Smile and stop trying to make a bad name for your self and these other Companys. I'm working for another Company doing the same thing as before and making more money. So UMA / LPS is not the top paid Energy Company on the Market. So to all of you GOOD LUCK!

I just found this complaint page while trying to find out how to contact UMA. I purchaced the foil "Utility Shield" from UMA in the summer of 2009. I have reserved any judgement on the product until now. We are now almost through our 2nd winter and summer. I have kept all of my utility bills for the entire time. I have not seen any improvement / reduction of my utility bills. I am totally dissapointed. I do not know if it was installed properly since I have never seen another istallation except mine but if it was then it did not work for me at my home. I want to get ahold of someone at UMA, first to see if they will come out and see if the install was done properly and second to talk about their warranty if it was done right. Can anyone help me get connected to the right person at UMA or LPS or where ever. Gary Light would be a good start.

thank you gentlemen for your enlightening conversation. I would have nothing to do with any company that is represented even in this venue like Light Power Solutions has been in these postings. I had briefly considered going to the information dinner but not without researching first. I save a lot of time and money thinking before I accept a free dinner from a stranger.

just a small example of how this company works... they got slammed by everyone on the green power box and power mizer so now they have found another 240.00 box there going to try to sell for way to much money... please read this as this is a direct quote that gary light has sent me and is sending it out trying to build a new salesforce... kind of looks like a pyramid scam doesnt it?

Powerworx 1-up Affilate bonus program

The brilliance of this American made 3 in 1 power conditioning box is unsurpassed as far as being a product whose time has come. Virtually anywhere there is a circuit breaker box there is tremendous potential and need for a Powerworx unit.

The One-Up Afiliate bonus program was chose by it's founder Gary Light for it's direct sales commission and referal bonuses. Anyone 21yrs old plus can be a PA or Powerworx Affiliate for one hundred thirty five dollars.They are entered in the computer. They are overnighted 5 DVDs( Park) Powerworx Affiliate recruiting knowledge and paperwork supplies. Also access to the Powerworx Affilate website. The PA can and has the opportunity to sell Powerworx for retail at 1395.00 and earn 300 dollar commission from other PC Perfered customers but he/she can not participate in the 1-up Affilate bonus program until they have themselves purchased a Powerworx unit. As soon as the PA purchases a unit and the offices processes his purchase he becomes a 1-Up-Affiliate and he can only purchase a unit from the affiliate that signed him up to be a PA. The PA gives away his first sale as everyone else does and all bonuses are paid as usual to all 1-up-Affiliates.The PC Perfered Customers can sign to be 1-up bonus Affilate at anytime and from anyone whom he chooses as he will pay the 135 fee and provide a copy of his reciept or proof of purchase must be enclosed and received in the office of Light Commercial Power llc at 3289 McCollugh Blvd Belden Ms 38824.

Each purchase of Powerworx unit at 1395 plus any applicable salestax will be accepted by check or credit card only. If a cashier check or credit card is accepted and approved the Powerworx unit will be sent out typically within 3 days from recieving payment. The customer may pay extra for overnight shipping. Every customer that purchases a Powerworx unit has to take advantage of one of two options. Since the unit must be installed by a licensed Electrian. Upon the customer purchase he/she can sign a promise option to hire a licensed Electrian and indemnify the company from all possible liability or harm. In this case we send out a check for 135 to help with that cost which is normally about one hundred dollars. The second option is to become a 1-Up-Affiliate and waive the 135 rebate fee for the Electrian. The new 1-Up-Affiliate still must sign to promise he will also have the unit installed by his state licensed Electrian.

The essence of this direct sales program is finding prospects that both want to save money and protect and make their electrical appliances work better, last longer. Secondly to find others that want to do the same and earn potentially alot of income doing just that. There are basic ways to do this, one sell then recruit and the other is recruit to sell and this program offers the best of both approaches. There will be five basic types of people all will seek. Firstly direct salespeople like Kirby or Rainbow vacuum cleaners, car salesman, encyclopedia salesman Ect then secondly MLM people like Amway or Herbal life or any of these network marketers have small to large organizations and if you get them recruited you can many times land a lot of people in a short amount of time. This might be an owner of a company a mayor a pastor it may be a hair stylist but this person has influence over many people. The fourth type are home party plan people like Tupperware or Mary Kay or Premier jewelry parties and many other Sally homemakers. The fifth kind is anyone within 3 feet of you that would like to make an extra 500 to a 1000 a week or may know someone that does.

This is where the Park comes in. Powerworx Affiiliate Recruiting knowledge and it's easy to both sell to recruit or recruit to sell. The object is to put a sense of urgenctcy on getting this dvd back.Here is an example of an approach... Ken utility bills are high aren't they? If you could lower those bills without any out of pocket expense that would be interesting wouldn't it? Ken I have a dvd and thing is I have to have it back shortly so do u have a dvd player? Oh you do well if I lent to you could I get your opinion of this Powerworx video? Make a definite time within 48hrs or less to meet with him or better yet him and his wife. Then you might add this, Ken by the way do know anyone that would like to add another 500- to a 1000 dollars a week? If he says yes I would then say Ken make sure you watch the second part of the dvd the whole thing takes about 10 minutes. I will answer all your questions at lunch tmwr when I meet with you and Debbie at noon. If when you ask him if he knows anyone that would like more income and he says no. Tell him to bypass the second part of the video it's just an income opportunity.

lets not forget his technique... people please pay attention as this is all relevant to light power solutions and UMA and gary light because this is the type of company you are dealing with when you purchase products like ultra power shield and all of there products... this is how they launch a new product line? keep in mind this is a direct quote that I was sent as a "hey come work for me I got a great new program to offer and we will make some serious cash scamming people once again"!

Techniques

Have your new 1-Up-affiliate write a list of his prospects. Say to him/ her if your best friend walked in now would you introduce that person to me ok what's his name? What's his phone number? How about your neighbors? Same thing get info and then say do you have a contact list in your phone or laptop or computer? Do you have Christmas card list? Do some memory jogging and don't forget to say do you know and direct sales people like security alarm sales car sales book salesman or real-estate ppl or insurance or anyone like that? Go thru memory jog on network ppl like Amway or party plan ppl then proceed to Center of influence like who is your pastor who cuts your hair your spouses hair? Then say who can you think of that could use some serious income? Then say of these ppl who would be most likely to purchase and signup? Then second then third and so forth until you have at least between 5-20 names and numbers in order of there chances of signing up.Then have the trainee call the first one and say to his best friend John. John listen I found a goldmine? Imagine a box that hooks up to a circuit breaker that corrects power factor! He says what's that? John not only that everyone is going want this and my business affiliate showed me this Powerworx unit and his name is ------ and I'm going to let him tell more. John my name is ---- I'm a Powerworx Affilate and let me ask you something may I ? Do you believe utility bills are to high? If he says no then kindly get off the phone. If yes then say If I could show you a way to save a noticeable amount on your utility with no out of pocket expense would that be interesting ? If yes say do you have a dvd player John? If yes or no proceed to say I'm helping ( the trainnes name) build his business and we would like to show you a ten minute video with your spouse and when would be the best time for you this evening or would tmwr be best? Then proceed to make a few more appointments because you must make a sale and three hundred dollars. Then do the same thing with John when he signs up. Help him sign a couple people. Sometime a new Affiliate will have several friends and acquaintances over to his home or restaurant and you can share in the process. You tell your new Affiliate how about I help you and you help me and share the people one for you then one for me how's that?

You can have pizza power parties also and invite several homeowners at one time.

Interesting.Has any customer ever asked for verification of their testimonials on their web site or their scam on line calculator with bogus results and how LPS aka UMA etc could fool the BBB into an A rateing ? Must have been an a great job of lying by Gary Light and his fellow men of no integrity Joe Hamacher and Greg Rogers.Why do they cheat everyone and still get away with it!I guess because the customers and former staff and present staff put up with the scams from these cheats, liars, con men, theives and men of no spiritual or moral integrity.Someone tell me i am wrong;Please.

My comment is to answer the user named, "astounded by fraud".

Let me start by saying that opinions are opinions and facts are facts. A lot of people on these blog sites have opinions that lack fact. You can find opinions in lots of places, just look on any public bathroom wall. Now let me give you some facts.

I started with this company as a customer. My wife and I enjoyed the pleasant presentation, meal and very matter-of-fact manner of the consultant who came to our home. No high-pressure tactics were used and none were needed as the products sold themselves. I was so impressed with our results that I hired on as an installer for this company at the age of 47, almost three years ago. I have their products in my home and continue to experience savings and increased comfort.

You are in fact wrong. I have personally heard and received verbal and written testimonies from many of the company's existing customers. The last one called me three Mondays ago to tell me how all of his neighbors still have utility bills in the $200 range, where his used to be, but his last bills for electric and gas came to only $53. He went around to his neighbors bragging and now they too want help with their bills.

Are they old people? Mostly. Why are they the majority of people invited to the dinners? Because the rest of us are too busy paying for college tuitions and new cars to have any money left over at the end of the month. Will I continue to help those who have money because their children are all out on their own supporting themselves? Yes. Why? Because even old people need a break from high utility bills. We do have younger customers as well. Does it cost them something up front? Yes, but in most cases I am able to show them how we can free up more money than they are spending for the products. And then when the products are done paying for themselves, the people continue to reap the benefits of lower bills and a more comfortable house, just like my wife and I do still today.

As for your slurs on the men mentioned above whom I have met, spoken with face to face, and yes even gone to church with, you come across as a disgruntled employee. Is it possible that you are one who didn't follow the rules and policies of the company that are laid out to protect first, the customer, then the employee, and lastly the company. And possibly because of that fact, you endangered the customer/employee/business or worse cost one or more of them monitarily? Were funds that you felt were due to you withheld due to the expense you caused and now this is the only way you feel you can get justice?

Let me tell you some more facts.
Fact - Everyone who reads blogs like these should do so with GREAT CAUTION. You do not know who is telling the TRUTH! And you do not know who they are. Anyone can have several logins to these sites and post whatever they like, even if it is not true.
Fact - Off of the internet, I can get justice from the courts for someone lying about me or my business. On the internet, a person or business is GUILTY UNTIL PROVEN INNOCENT and it takes quite a lot of manhours and expense to cause these blog owners to do what is right and remove those falsehoods.
Fact - If fraud is committed, no one has to press charges, that is a case that is taken up directly by prosecuting attorneys to prevent their city/county/state from being sued for not protecting the people. No fraud = No arrests. Fraud is a criminal act.
Fact - We all make mistakes. We are all human. I have personally seen and heard all of the above-mentioned men admit when they were wrong and they did everything in their powers to make the wrong right. Bad men do not do these things. They deny and run away from their responsibilities.

I will end this waste of time by saying this: If you are looking for faults in someone or something, you will probably find one. I see the uncompromising love of God in people first, and let them prove me wrong. I have yet to be proven wrong by Gary Light, or Joe Hamacher, or Greg Rogers. They are good men.

Light Power Solutions is an honest top of the line energy efficiency product company. I have had the pleasure of meeting some of these people and find them to be great and honest people selling the best energy efficient products that save on peoples energy consumption. I have the products in my home and am very pleased from the savings I get every month. Simply put, these products work. Don't pass up the opportunity to have these pruducts in your home. There is no other way besides expensive solar panels to reduce your energy costs.

The installer job is a hard one, but it's honest work for decent pay. If it doesn't work out with UMA/LPS call me, I can place him elsewhere doing the same work. It's my understanding UMA/LPS is on it's last legs because all of the good salespeople have left and they have nothing but rookies working there now. Since installers are paid by the square foot, it will be tough to make money in that environment.

Interesting reading. I was doing some internet research on this company as I was waiting on the phone for someone to answer. My domestic partner and I received an invitation to a dinner presentation but were told we weren't eligible because we weren't married. That is an interesting approach to sales. Not sure what that is all about. Anyone have any ideas?

Light Power Solutions, LLC is a scam and the owner Gary Light is no doubt, a real scammer. The products are overpriced by hundreds of dollars. Just check somewhere else and you will see that you can save hundreds and even thousands by not buying from them. Talk them down...their Ultra Power Shield should sell for $1.60-1.75. Don't get burned. Be smart and research.

I love all the mudslinging for this so-called Christian Company... Folks, UMA & Light Power (and a few other names in-between) are the same company... The company - UMA - started off as a solid, legitimate company but went through a personnel change in 2009 where one person was hired on as the National Sales Manager. This man gained the confidence of the owner, eliminated any and all threats around him to move higher in the company, and proceeded to fly UMA into the side of a proverbial with his shady dealings (the gift cards... the bs money back guarantee... not knowing the products well enough... high pressure sales tactics)...
The shady dealings created THOUSANDS of complaints which led to negative publicity which ultimately led to the company's solution to the problem; choosing to run, hide and change the name rather than deal with the problem head on...
It's too bad because the products were great and I know many, many more people that have had positive experiences with the products versus those in the past few years who's negative experience are all in dealing with the corporate office.

I think I have been duped. I went to a presentation by power solutions and being impulsive I called the presenter to come to my home. He talked me into how much money I would save with the paint guard the refecting film in the attic, attaching something to the washer so that I will use only cold water. I signed a contract for over 8500.00. After afew days I started having doubts. I called the rep who did not want to answer any questions. I have been calling the main office for days. Only the secretary will talk to me. The manager or the president have the policy of not talking to any customers. On the internet there is just one page of information which just talks the heat guard. It does not even show what all they showed at the presentation. I do not know what to do. I have lot of boxes and paint cans delivered to my door. Can anyone tell me what to do. I truly feel like a fool.

Well veenag at least you got boxes and paint cans delivered to your door. I had the same experience and purchased 4, 000 worth of their products. I did get the Ultra Shield but the rest? It has been almost a month and we have nothing. I have called the company several times, alwsays told they will ship the products out...still waiting.

LPS came to my house..took my money, put a hole in my ceiling and disconnected their phones. i can reach NO ONE...meanwhile i have a hole and promises from the company to fix and no way to get ahold of them...and i am out 3000.00... DO NOT use this company no matter what they are ripoffs...

I, too, was talked into purchasing the"green box" from Light Power Solutions, LLC. It cost me a lot of money, saved me none, and is now falling off the wall where their "electrician" installed it. Pretty scary because it is hooked directly into my breaker box! Fraudulent company, major scam, huge rip-off! Here are some names associated with this now defunct company: Jim Morgan and Matt Hopson. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ANYONE WHO OFFERS A FREE DINNER TO SELL A PRODUCT THAT 'SAVES YOU ELECTRICITY!"
