A young man came to my door on March 20, 2010, claiming that they were selling magazines door to door for school to earn a trip overseas, I am so upset now I dont even remember where he was claiming to go. I bought $194 worth of magazines because I felt bad for him. That and he sold a good pitch but when it came down to it, they were really very expensive. Against my better judgement I went ahead with the sale. As of today June 17, my daughter, significant other and myself still have not recieved our magazines. I am beyond upset. How can someone take advantage of other people especially when times are so tough? I only did it because he led me to believe he was in need! I WANT MY MONEY BACK! Some one needs to contact me ASAP!

I have a number cause a representative just came to my door and sold me 218.00 worth of magazines. I was afraid it was a scam but didn't have no proof until now.. The number that was giving to me on my receipt is [protected]. I called an a lady answer the phone and I told her that I wanted it to be cancel and even did a stop check payment through my bank. I hope this helps and please make sure that we all learn from this experience..

Midwest Circulation LLC 506 Northland Drive ~ Cameron, MO [protected] or [protected]... good luck... from what i heard its a HUGE scam... the same people came to my door and sold me magazines and here it is 5 months later and still no magazines. The girl that showed up on my door step (on Sept. 8) was covered from head to toe in tattoos but claimed to be in school selling the magazines for the school. Half of the proceeds was supposed to have went to the American Red Cross ... and like you said she said that if they sold so many magazines they would win a trip overseas somewhere or 5000 dollars. Sounds like a bunch of bull. She also told me that I could claim receipt on my taxes, but i seriously doubt that as well. MIDWEST CIRCULATION IS A SCAM!

You know I've sat back and read all theses complaints about midwest circulation for some time now and I'm a little sick and disgusted of you... Consumers I mean, half of you dont even take the time to read fine print in the receipts the other half well... YOUR IDIOTS! Magazines crews are not scams if anything you scam yourselves by listening to most of the thing that come out these kids mouth and not reading what they hand you. Come on people use your grown up brains these kids act just like you would if someone was stupid enough not to look at the contest cards or read the receipts. Mind you this is coming from a magazines sales agaent. my name. Pfft not important but if you really must know I am Ben Dikenya ( Die-kenya not Dicking-ya ###s!) . But seriously you have no one to blame but yourself if you listen to kids say they're doing this for school, baseball, soccer, your neighbor, or some church. THERE WOULD BE A FLYER IN THE DAMN MAIL PEOPLE! Oh and before I forget about not recieveing your magazine yet let me guess it's been a couple of weeks to a month right? It takes 120 DAYS. This is why most of us make fun of you people once we get back to the hotel cuz you keep saying a couple of weeks when it clearly says on the reciepts 120 days. you people seriously make my head hurt at time because of you obvious lack of intelligence. you people are a joke and need to be re- educated or just put in a back room never to see the light of day again.

Yes I was just going to respond to the idiot that trashed every because he is such a successful magazine salesman. If anything you should go crawl in a hole. You talk about how stupid everyone is for buying magazines because they felt taken advantage of. If your so smart and so successful y are u selling magazines and helping the country do nothing for itself. Why don't you just shut up and stop making fun of others who see it in their hearts to help because they are in a position you will probably never be in financially. And in case your wondering how I can tell you this, its because I do try to better my community and this nation. It may not be much or anything spectacular but I'm an RN, bachelors degree. And I read my receipt and kept a brochure all the while waiting 6 months. Which to your feeble mind may all be seeing is the six, but to me that's more than 120 days. So when you at ready to rebutle I will be waiting. With your superior intelligence it should not take too long right?

MTS Circulation LLC (MTSCIRC.COM) IS A SCAM! Do not waste your time or money. I had a young African american man come door to door to offer magazines. He was stating that it would help him with school and that he was trying to take some sort of a trip.

I picked out a few magazines that would be good for my 4 year old son and wife to enjoy. The order was placed on 12/27/10 and has never arrived. When I went on the companies website, it only had a cheap form to fill out and did not look legit. There is no phone number to contact and I am sure, I will not see the $49.00 that was stolen from me.

The unfortunate part about this, is I will no longer give my trust to any door-to-door sales person again.

>>> FOLLOW UP:
Thank you jmecrocker for the number you placed in the post. I called the company and was told that I have to wait the 120 days to get a refund. But that I would receive the magazines prior to that time. I still don't trust them, but at least I could get in contact.

These kids came door to door and I fell for it too, until my neighbors told me these sweet girls said different stories to everyone here about what it was really for. I received the troops over the seas my neighbor received the kids with cancer story. Little did these girls know my husband who was not here is the chief of police, so I went ahead with it on a canceled check account in order to get a hold of their receipt. I have filed a report today and the kids are being stopped before leaving the hotel even though they said they were "local" too they were followed directly to the place the ringleader has them staying. Don't be mad at the kids though, its uneducated greed that led to this that can only come from adults who were either abused or loners as children.

I ordered 2 magazines (one for $81 and one for $91) on January 12, 2011 from a young lady (Samantha-211) claiming to sell these books to win a trip to I don't remember where. Both my checks (9377 & 9378() have cleared my bank. These books have not been sent to my grandchildren, for whom they were ordered. I tried to fill out a request for MTS to investigate my question and as I tried to send the message, I was informed there was no such address and the message would not send. Please see if you can do something for me as there is no phone number to call, or if you have a working phone number where I could contact this company. Thank you.

Right now, the sales team is in Merced, CA. The sales girl claimed that they will send a subscription to the Children's hospital. She will also place a sticker by your door bell "To tell the other children to not ring your bell."

These criminals are now in Bowling Green, KY. Do not open your door for them and do not give them any money. They are not legitimate, as most door to door sales people are NOT, and will rip you off. Call the police immediately since they have no permit to sell in the city limits.

One man came to our door a few minutes ago (in Wichita, KS) claiming to be doing a literature drive as part of a communication skills requirement - something about getting a college grant. He said he was only a few points away from winning a trip to Italy. I could either buy his overpriced books or donate them to soldiers overseas or a children's hospital. Then he said that all of the books were donated by Barnes & Noble for the cause. On the receipt, it said it was an independent for-profit company. When I wanted to donate towards the children's fund, he said I could only do cash; after I refused, he let me write a check. As soon as he left, I googled the company's name and found this page. I went and found him and demanded my check back. He was very disgruntled and walked off, cussing.

The worst part was that he kept making me high-five his sweaty hand during his sales pitch.

Two young guys just came to my door selling MTS circulation mags also. I wrote out a check and but their story did not "seem right". Right after they left, I came inside and checked MTS CIrculaion LLC on the web---it's a scam alright. I immediately stopped payment on my check and called the sheriff's dept. The sheriff dept. is now driving around Big Rock, IL looking for them. So be warned Kane County.

I just had a young lady come in here and try and sell me the same story. Something about the deal just did not sound right to me, but I felt sorry for her and I wanted to help. Once she left I looked up the website and found that it was a scam. I looked out my store window and saw her standing on the corner waiting to be picked up and I called her over. I told her that I had looked up information on their website and saw that it was a scam and I wanted my money. She did not want to at first, but she did eventually. If she reads this, thank you for doing right by me. Today they are in Rochelle, IL.

In NW Suburbs, IL
I fell for their story, they got me all warm and fuzzy. They were for some youth group getting over some phobia or something. I asked them a million questions and they had all the right answers. I asked for their credentials too, and they gave me some generic card. Against my better judgement I ordered a magazine. They bamboozled me the entire time, kept me talking, not thinking. Stupid. After they left with my check, I checked out their website. Things weren't even capitalized correctly and there was no address or phone # for the company. I felt my stomach turn over. I then found these reviews. I just stopped payment on my check . Have to pay a fee for that, but better than the entire amount I suppose.

We were scammed today by a young girl selling books for her competitive cheerleading squad which get donated to St Jude. Like the other posts, she had all the answers, knew all the neighbors. She told us her family moved here from Texas and she graduated from HS early and will be attending Mizzou. Yes, we were scammed. Looked up the company after she left. Too late. Please beware! Do not buy. We did call the police but she was gone. She managed to scam four houses on our street alone. Alert your neighbors. We are located in Lake St. Louis, Mo.

I was scammed today by a young girl supposedly selling books and magazines that you could order for yourself or for other "unfortunate" people (i.e., homeless shelters, nursing homes, & hospitals). Like others above had said, these people are SO trained to make you feel all warm & fuzzy...they give you sob stories, get you to talking, make you feel like it could be your daughter or grandaughter. They will take a check, but they downplay that, saying they won't get as many points - they get more points if you pay CASH. Oh, and if you don't have any cash, you can just go up to the ATM and get it - they'll wait. They'll even reimburse you the $3 fee that the bank charges at the ATM. I feel like such an idiot. I am going to have to put a stop payment on the check, which will cost me $25. BTW, I'm in the northwest suburbs of IL. Watch out for these people!

They were just in Norwich, NY on July 22, 2011 and I purchased the Disney Pixar Cars issue. It's kind of like a "Where's Waldo" book from what Anthony, the young African American sales man said. He said he was trying to win a trip, and that he could earn double the points and this whole thing was going to help him through college somehow, blah, blah, blah. I fell for the scam and wrote a check in the amount of $59.10. I cancelled my order within 3 business days as it says to do on the back of the receipt. I also contacted them via their website and sent them an electronic message. Their website doesn't even look reputable. The only reason I was interested and bought something from him is because he used the "Autism" sales pitch on me, and my witness who was standing nearby. My 4 year old son is Autistic so, of course, I would help the cause. I will attempt to contact them by phone as well at the # a couple other people left on this site, but I have my doubts. Be careful everyone! They come to small towns where people are the most naive unfortunately.

My husband and I ordered from two girls that came to our door in June 2011. They were talking about how they were going on a trip for school if they earned enough points. We got out kids the Humpty Dumpty books. It is now October and we have got NOTHING. They even put a sticker on our door so other kids trying to get sales woudn't stop at our house. They were the sweetest girls and were really down to earth and I would had never in a million years thought I would get cheated. We thought we were helping them out..and now we look like idiots. One thing I hate is a theif and a liar. I will someone get to the bottom of this. Its not fair that ppl are loosing money because they wanted to support a good cause..or so they thought.

11.02.2011 - Del City, OK ---- A young man came to my doorstep today around 2:00 p.m. Directly behind my house is a church who often sends groups for charity donations (or selling magazines), usually young men and women. The young man stated he was selling these subscriptions to help a local youth group at the church. My previous 2 year subscription that I purchased before had just ended and I thought it was time to get another one. I argued about the $62 price since my previous 2 year subscription was only $30. He stated that $14 was non-refundable and guaranteed all shipping and handling and that I would also be receiving some bowls from the transaction. I was uncomfortable and asked again for the name of the church group and again he responded with the name of the church. I wrote out the check and closed the door. Immediately went to my computer and did a background search. All a scam. Called the Del City City Manager's office and asked if any permitted door-to-door charities were in place; nothing. Tried to find the young man but he had disappeared. Immediately stopped payment on my check and sent the flimsy receipt with cancellation information to Midwest Circulation LLC in Cameron, MO. The $32 stop payment was worth it. Don't let it happen to you.

A young girl came by in August of 2011. I live in the NW burbs of Chicago. I normally stay far away from solicitors but since she was a younger girl, I didn't think at all this would be a scam. She had several payments already so I thought it was legit. She even left a sticker too so that others wouldn't come by. I thought that was weird. She even sat on my bench and pet my dog. Again normally not what you experience from scammers. I guess when I think of scammers I picture older men. Not young girls. I definitely learned my lesson but this makes me sad. I did start getting a magazine in the mail but it's not what I ordered. And of course when you call the number on the receipt, the mailbox is full. I filed a complaint with the BBB and will file a police report.

My girlfriend and I were (almost) scammed in Winston-Salem, NC a couple days ago. 2 kids, one black and one white, came to our door at 8pm on a Friday night. Why I thought this was normal for someone to be selling something at 8pm on a Friday, I'll never know. They gave us the same lines as everyone else has gotten "Raising money for college, have a fear of public speaking, can win a trip to Cancun, the magazines get sent to troops overseas, etc.". After a severe lapse of judgment by my girlfriend and I, these kids walked out the door with 2 checks totaling $50 or so, $40 in cash, and $25 in coins. They also gave us some line about how if they collected coins, their program director gave them "extra points" just because she thought it was funny. I'm an idiot, I know. I do have to admit that this black kid was an extremely smooth talker, telling jokes, being very friendly, had a quick answer to everything. Pretty impressive for a criminal.

Anyway, as soon as they left I Googled Midwest Circulation LLC, and obviously the scam alerts popped up everywhere. I then put my shoes on, grabbed my 100 lb. dog and my 9 iron, and took a little stroll around my apartment complex looking for these punks. After a few minutes I noticed a woman in her 40's driving a black SUV who pulled into my apartment complex, beeping her horn and stopping every few seconds. It dawned on me that this was their little getaway car, and that was probably their "manager" driving around to pick them up. Yes people, these idiots have getaway cars. Totally legit business, right? Well, for some reason the SUV just left after a few minutes. Must not care much about their "employees" I suppose.

I luckily caught them in the parking lot after 20 minutes or so of searching. They acted friendly towards me and asked me if they had seen an SUV driving around beeping its horn. I said "Yep, sure did... that's actually what led me to find you guys!" I then told them to put the checks and cash on the ground, and put the Ziploc bag of coins on top of them so the wind wouldn't blow them away. Told them to turn around and walk in the other direction, and that would be the end of it. When they resisted and tried to convince me they were legit, I told them to do as I said or the dog would come off the leash, and there would be a 9 iron sticking out of someone's skull in a minute. That convinced them. Got my money back and that was it. I'll be watching my bank account like a hawk for the next couple of months though. Who knows if they got my account number and wrote it down or something.

The next day, I talked to my apartment complex manager. She said she was aware of the issue and that police would start doing more rounds in the complex. She also said that they were kicked out of the apartment complex at 4pm that same day! They got kicked out and still came back later when it was dark out. Beware of these people, they are relentless and you never know what people are capable of. I've read online that some of the really bad people will take stock of what is in your house and ask you what you do for a living (so they can try to figure out when you're at work), so if there's an easy situation for them they come back to your house and rob you. That's also what the stickers they put on your door is for, so they can recognize your place. It's really sad that we live in a world where you just can't trust people anymore. Unfortunately I'll never be able to trust door salespeople again. I hope these criminals in this "company" die in a grease fire.
