I like everyone else just got a free credit report, and began to be charged 9.95/month immediately after. 3 months ago i canceled the service, and continued to receive the charge. I finally realized that they were still charging me and called back, their response was that the person that took the original call documented that I wished to have the service canceled but did not hit the submit button. He did say that I would be receiving a refund of the charges since March, we'll have to see about that one. Make sure that you get a confirmation number for them canceling the service!

I didn't order this either, and I am charged $9.95 a month. I don't know what to do to stop the charges.

Thanks,
Terry

MNI has charged me $9.95 several times. I finally found these web site and the phone number [protected]) to contact them. I was told that when I agreed to a free credit report that I also agreed to a monitor program which costs $9.95 a month. So, I then told them that I wanted to cancel. I was told to fax some information to them to have it canceled. I faxed the information and guess what? I was charged again! I don't know what to do except close my checking account and then open another one up! The only thing that I can get accomplished over the phone is long waits and transfers from one person to another who seems just as confused as I am! Good luck to everyone who was sucked into this scam!

I also am being charged $9.95 a month. I called in March to have them stop charging me and they told me they couldn't talk to me because the credit report was not for me. Interesting that they have no problem taking my money for this service I am suppose to be receiving. When a charge didn't show up on my next bill I thought it was taken care of. I just received a new bill yesterday and there are 2 new $9.95 charges on it. I agree this company has to be stopped, this is unethical and bordering on fraud.

Thanks, Barb.

I agree with the complaints. The website is misleading in its lure tactics and put all the pressure on the consumer to deal with the problem. I will gladly join in a class action suit against them for the waste of my time, duress, and punitive damages if anybody is a lawyer.

I answered an internet ad about a free credit report and started getting $9.95 per month taken from my bank account. I did find info about the MNI company, known as Mighty Net, Inc., at the address: MNI Credit Report Services doing business as Mighty Net, Inc. is located at 9040 Topanga Canyon Blvd., Floor 2, Canoga Park, CA 91304.

I called my bank and they gave me the number [protected] which I called. I was treated very nicely and the lady canceled my "subscription" and gave me a verification number. Hope this worked and hope this helps others solve their problem too. I just shutter to thing how many millions this company has already made off of unsuspecting persons such as myself.

I just got off the phone with MNI Credit report Services and my credit card company. I did not agree to having my credit card charged every month for their service. All I asked for was the free credit report which I got. They say I signed up. I did not. What a scam. I will contact my Attorney Generals office in MN if this is not taken care of. Thank you all for your help and contact phone number.

I have the same issue(s) as all of you. I just called the previous toll free number given by H. Keen and I spoke to a rather nice woman she closed my account. I WILL BELIEVE IT WHEN I SEE IT though on my next credit card statement. Do call this number to see if it works for you. I have really learned a good lesson in to being more careful with my account numbers. We should all know that what sounds "to good to be free" is never free.

After viewing this site on July 10, I phoned the MNI number. It took repeated insistence that the charge was in error, but the representative finally relented, and the charge has been credited back to my bank account.

Gee!

I posted a few comments before i got to this actual complaint page, um i am horrified at what this company is doing to peoples lives. I am in the same situation unfortunately, they have taken money from me for about 3 months now, i don't know what to do i cannot find any phone number or website to contact. I don't know who to call about it either. I talked to my bank but they told me to call MNI. Unfortunately i cant do that, i don't have a number for them. So If YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE AT ALL, I WOULD APPRECIATE IT.

Wow didn't quite know what I was getting into here. The funny thing is I too wanted to see about getting a FREE credit report since I had no idea as to what my credit score is. Funny thing is I realize I don't even have credit! Oops. Oh well it did no good for me but i didn't pay anything so what harm could it be? WRONG! Like all of you I am being charged this ridiculous fee as well. But I have a solution! I happen to work at the bank my account is at so heres what you need to do: Calling MNI is practically worthless and they aren't going to help you, so go to your bank and ask to fill out a Debit Card Dispute Form. What that does is have your bank research this company and after finding it is unauthorized refund any charges from them and any overdraft charges occurring because of it. MNI does not like disputes at all and they will stop charging your bank account. I hope I have been of some help to you. The thing that amazes me is how they can keep airing that stupid FreeCreditReport.com bs without saying anything about charges. Thats false advertising.

My credit card bill arrived and I discovered a $9.95 charge for a service that was advertised as free. It appears I am going to find it necessary to cancel the card to stop the unauthorized charges. Surely there is some agency who can put a stop to these fraudulent activities.

Wow I'm sooo glad I googled MNI*CREDITRPT SERVICES [protected] CA! They have been charging my credit card 9.95 once or sometimes twice a month for about a year now. I lost hundreds of dollars because of this! On top of that the overlimt fees because of them charges I have to deal with on my high APR credit card... I definitely need to cancel this scam service and see what I can do about my credit card...

This company has been doing the same thing to me. I sent them an e-mail complaint, and I never received a response. The company is doing business as: Mighty Net, Inc. is located at 9040 Topanga Canyon Blvd., Floor 2, Canoga Park, CA 91304. File a complaint with the FTC and the BBB. Google BBB for the Better Business Bureau and file a complaint. You may even get a refund.

I to am being charged. I checked my online bank statement for each charge and this phone number was posted:

[protected]. I called it and it is the number to CreditReport.com. It gives you the option to stay on the line and speak to someone. If anyone needs a phone number for this, give [protected] a try.

My Husband and I just recently refinanced our house. He obviously used CreditReport.com. I checked the site out, and at the Shopping Cart page it says ... "Did you know...

By ordering a free credit report, you will automatically be enrolled in a 30 day free trial of credit monitoring. You will receive automatic notifications of changes to your credit report. You will be billed $9.95 for each month that you continue your membership if you do not cancel your membership within the trial period. You may cancel anytime – there is no obligation."

I wish my husband read this and told me, or I had paid more attention to the emails I received regarding the service.

Ironically, MNI has a website, cardpal.com, where you can report fraudulent charges...

MNI is a rip-off scam if there ever was one. Who is the agency that should monitor their illegal activity?

Consumers need to be protected from these deceiving companies.

I called this stupid company and told them that my account was getting charged and i would like them to stop. it was a credit report for my wife. the payment method was the same as all of you but the credit card was in my name and not hers and it was my account that the money was coming out of. They said that the name on the credit card number that they had was mine. So i told them to just stop using that payment type to just bill her not charge my card. They said that they wont stop using my card until my wife calls them and tells them to stop. Now i might not be the smartest person in the world but to me that should be fraud against me on the business part, in the fact that i told them that i did not authorize them to use MY card anymore. And they said no and will probably still use it. I want something done against this stupid company that is ripping off many united states citizens! It's my money and i want it back!

Where in the hell is our Justice Department? I called my bill a fraud to Bank of America which is supposed to cover fraud. They're sending new cards as well. If our credit companies and banks are paying this outfit, they should have to pay any bills.

We signed up for a free credit report when the credit card receipts from a store that we shop at were stolen. We thought we were safe because we canceled our card, replaced it with a new one, and checked our credit. But then we got suckered punched. Like everyone else, we got signed up for a credit monitoring system without our consent. Not only that, we never received the reports we were being billed for. When we called [protected]
we talked to 3 people - Luis, Reuben, and then Carlo. We were informed that because they provided a service (actually they CLAIMED a service was provided; we didn't actually receive the reports) that the charges could not be reimbursed. However, we were informed that the service would be canceled. We'll just have to wait and see. It's time for a class action law suit and a complaint to the BBB.

I will add my complaint, along with a long list of others, about this scam company that, without my authorization, charged me $9.95 per month for 9 months. I should have caught this earlier but didn't. Why can't such an obvious bunch of thieves be put out of business? I will get my $90 back from Chase but have to go through the bother of being issued a new credit card number (and, hence, changing it on a zillion accounts).

Beware!

I got a charge from MNI credit.. the company I filled out an application for a credit check was Equifax.Theyre the one's directly responsible for what I was charged, I believe, cause Ive never heard of MNI credit. Equifax, by law, has to provide 1 free credit check per year to anyone that asks them for one. When I went to their site I entered my account info and was informed they didn't have any information concerning the email account or card number I gave them, as if I never filled out any paper work. I mention this because my account info was the only way I could cancel my account. I believe Equifax would not allow me access to my account so that they could charge me a fee. My mistake was assuming that since, on their website, I couldn't find my account info then there would be no charge.I was wrong. It was just a big scam. Equifax makes most of their money this way. I'm responsible for what happened because I didn't follow thru, stay on top of these crooks like a mad dog. Its disgusting how Equifax does business. They should not be in business and when they do get run out of business they'll just open the same kind of business under another name and resume their shady practices. Its all legal and un-policed. Shame on us for putting up with it and letting it be a common practice. I'm off to get these crooks out of my life.. for now.

I ordered for my client a credit report with this company. I am now being billed for a monthly service I never authorized nor requested. I contacted them and they refused to remove the charges, stop the recurring monthly charges and hung up the telephone on me. I think I will be bringing a lawsuit against them in Los Angeles Superior Court for fraud and 17200 violations of the Business and Professions Code. I am also forwarding a letter to the FTC. it is time to gather a number of us and bring a civil suit.

I to am very upset with these people and feel very violated by them. We ordered one credit report and now there are 13 different credit report company's taking money out of I and my husbands account plus five different withdraws from the same company privacy matters also taking out of our account and has over drawn us and we are having to pat the price for there damages. If there is a class action suit against these peaple please let us know as I have lots to dhow them every print out from our bank. This is fraud! and they are very malicious about what they are doing too! I was to get free monitering for one year at 14.95 after i discovered they were doing this then it was to cancel, but they grew in numbers to make away with our hard earned cash! Help if any one can. I contacted them 10-3-07 and they refused to pay back what they owe us! Privacy matters is the only one who said they would refund. We'll see if that happens? signed joy tyler.

They got me to. $9.95 was charged to my credit card twice before notice it. I called them and like others they gave me a confirmation number. As soon as I got off the phone with them, I immediately called my credit card company and explained to them what happen and told them about the other complaints on this web site. The credit card company recorded my confirmation number. If the charges appear again, the credit card company will return the charges back to them and charge them a fee. The credit company told me as long as they have my confirmation number, not to worry. They will continue to return the charges and charge them a fine. Eventually, it will stop.

Paid $20 for a credit report and got charged for $30. I never signed up for a service. Called them and canceled but they continue to charge card. Next week I have to pay $20 to my VISA so they can take no more. I have filed complaints with the BBB and the FTC, I urge you all to do the same. Or you can call Adam Rassi at [protected], ext 605 and leave a message for he will not pick up or return calls. I got that number from BBB corespondents, just call me and I will help you. Those people should go to jail!

If the bill is from Mini*Creditrpt Services, call [protected] to cancel. I have been getting charged by these people and I didn't even know. I didn't authorize this charge or even sign up for the "free credit report". I cancelled my "account" but I don't hold my breath and assume I will have do deal with these people more times.

I just found these charges on my credit card and started to investigate what they would. I have been charge over the past 4 months anything from 24.95 to 11.95 from this company. I have no idea how they got my information and I don't even have any idea what the service is. I have cancelled and have put in dispute charge requests with my credit card company but I don't expect much. I am afraid I am going to have to close my credit card account to get away from them.

This was the number I called to get a hold of this "Credit Report service" [protected]

I didn't even complete my transaction and still got the charges. Got the number from the back and called it, canceled it with an automated service. Now 2 weeks later I see a hold for $11.95 from these people, just called with a number listed on these reviews [protected]) went through the steps to talk to a LIVE person and they claim I will be refunded... I also called the bank just to make sure. This is the first charge, let's hope for their sakes it's the last...
