I was also wondering what government fraud services we could contact. For now, the best thing to do is report these dirt balls to the Better Business Bureau, and give them a bad track record. I also decided to change my credit card number to keep these clowns from charging me again. Trying to resolve my MNI Credit Report Service issue was like trying to shake off a bad case of head lice! (not that I ever had head lice).

To all who complain. I When you go to either creditreport.com or freecreditreport.com, you all should read the disclaimer right on the front of the page! It tells you its a FREE TRIAL! And there will be charges after if you do not cancel. It also gives you the website in which follows the new federal law which allows you to look at your credit report once every 12 months for free. That site is www.annualcreditreport.com I myself have used it and you do not have to enter any credit card number. As for freecreditreport.com I did have them before and canceled it within the 30 days and never got charged once!

I THINK YOU ALL NEED TO LEARN TO READ BEFORE SIGNING UP FOR ANY FREE TRIAL!

Thank you for the helpful contact information. I have been charged multiple times as well, and I am not appreciative of MNI's unauthorized billing methods. How misleading. Anyhow, than you to those who pointed me in the right direction of fix this expensive problem.

OK not that I am defending creditreport.com, but you people really need to start reading the fine print. If there is something that even has fine print attached to it, why put your SSN AND CREDIT CARD INFORMATION ON IT. You all need to step back and look at yourselves. You see how stupid you were for not reading the disclaimer and don't want to put the blame on yourself so you go off and say "OH they are a scam and i shouldn't have to read any fine print...they are somehow stealing my information and charging me" yeah okay and they are still in business how? Yeah because it's idiots like you that really do give businesses a bad name. I also went to website like 5 seconds ago and it's also written on the home page in the blue box to the left. Oh you people are such idiots. But the moral of the story is: READ THE FINE PRINT AND THE DISCLAIMER WHEN GIVING OUT YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER AND SSN. Or is that too hard for you?

I see on here that you guys put that you have been charged multiple times. Do you ever call to see why you have been charged multiple times or do you really like acting like ###s? First find out why this is because a lot of time you could have just enrolled you, your spouse, a friend, a family member and forgot that you used your credit card for it. I was charged multiple times and called them basically cussing them out. Come to find out, I forgot about pulling my ex husbands and son's credit report. When she let me know about it I felt really stupid. You people are acting like real big idiots right now and I can say that from experience. Read and confirm before you ASSUME, and you know what they say about those who assume!

Hey just a FYI before all of you come out looking like dummies, the bbb is not going to do anything about it. Trust me I am an attorney. Because of the fact that they have it written in their disclosure which is a legal contract right there. Also they have it every else on the website. I just see that all of you are too damn lazy to actually read! Since identity theft is on the rise, why in the hell put your ssn and credit card information online anyways. You are just asking to get your information stolen. If you are unsure then don't do it. Take this as a learning experience and quick ###. People are really dumb and I hate the fact that I have associate with people like you on a daily basis.

I canceled my account the same day I ordered my "free" credit report. Read all the disclaimers and not once did I see anything about charges after cancellation. So you tell me mr big shot who calls people ###s with no basis. How is it I get charged 2 months after cancellation. They sold my info to their other "businesses" and are now illegally charging my account.

Im still on hold with these people. they are not only charging me but my husband too. $11.95 per month which I never agreed to. Tried to call cic because I thought thats who it was but it is mni. CIC wanted my credit card number to see if we on their account. She insisted on getting it. What a scam. These people need to be held accountable for their actions.

I agree with all of you .Those a** holes charged me 11.95 for 2 months and would not give me my money back. I called the number that Micheal gave [protected] and they had me on hold for about 15 minutes. I guess hoping that I hang up. I cursed their a**es out good and then cancelled my account.

I just finally cancelled my MNI charges... hopefully it worked this time. I did get my bank involved, so if it didn't go through, at least I'm on record as having made a complaint. I told MNI I wanted a refund for the past 8 months, and the guy told me no. He was totally sleazy sounding, sort of like Hanibal Lectur from Silence of the Lambs "hello". This company is so shady! From now on I will order my credit report through my bank only.

Oh, and also - it's total crap that an INTERNET company where you sign up for the service ONLINE makes you CALL to cancel! That just screams shady! But, apparently they trap a lot of people because they have lots of money to put out ads making us believe they are a reputable company.

When you call, be prepared to hold for 20 minutes or more.

MNI*CREDITRPT SERVICES are CreditReport.com Some of you might have signed up for a one-time-credit report and score from them, and didn't read the fine print saying you're also signed up for a monthly monitoring service. I did it too and just canceled my account. Is it dirty? yes. Illegal? probably not, it's just most of us don't bother reading the 10,000 word "service agreement", we just check the block. I just canceled my account, you can too at [protected]. They were nice enough, and they tried really hard to keep my service. Just be courteous and it will go smoother. Remember, you got fooled, not screwed, so don't blow up on the customer service rep. They might just hang up on you.

I thank you all for the info. I've found mysterious charges as well. The service was easily cancelled after making the phone call. It almost seemed like this was the normal topic for the agent that took my call. I do however agree w/ chris. We all did get fooled so ripping the service rep is a waste of everyones time.

I, as many of you, have received unauthorized charges from MNI credit services. I am currently in the middle of disputing the charges. While dealing with this company I found it a little unsettling that there was not a whole lot of contact info available. So I did some looking...

MNI mailing address:
Mighty Net Inc.
9040 Topanga Canyon Blvd
Canoga Park, CA [protected]
US

MNI phone numbers:
[protected]
[protected]
[protected] [fax]

MNI email:
webmaster@mightynet.com
sales@mightynet.com
jobs@mightynet.com

So, now you can call, fax, email, or write letters letting them know how you feel about these unauthorized charges.

Someone charged an unauthorized amount of 9.95 to my credit card and when I called MNI Credit Report Services they found the account and told me that they couldn't give me any information because my name is not on the account, but they used my credit card to make the transaction. This is not the end of my complaint. There will be an investigation on this company. The representative I spoke to told me i can't cancel because it's not my account. I am furious.

Well miss Debbie Sammy, why don't you contact the person who IS on the account and tell them to call and cancel? Duh you're only making yourself more upset but just sitting there crying around. If your going to put your credit card on someone else account read all the fine print before letting them use your personal information. Investigate all you like. you are only wasting your time.

I am one more Victim of MNI, I have canceled before the trail period but still they have charged me of $12. When I spoke to them, they said they can't credit back the Money and no record found against my cancellation.

I, too, am another victim of MNI's fraudulent charges. They have made it virtually impossible to contact them to cancel accounts. My bank can only stop the charges, they can not get the money I am rightfully owed back to me.

Let's stop these clowns once and for all! I'm with Heidi. Who's with us?!

I found 3 charges from MNI on my credit card bill as well as one from CIC credit. I have had no dealings with them. My credit card company has cancelled my card and is issuing me a new card and has opened investigations into this since it sure looks like fraud to them. It's double dumb since I am in Canada and as far as I know this company does credit checks only in the U.S. Stay tuned.

Just visited and joined as a member of MNI CREDIT REPORT SERVICES. Because the company advertised as a free credit reporting service to any member.
But the company was hiding behind the big mouse. seme days later the company charged $11.99 per montly. The company never explained about the "charge". The company was supposed to say about the hiding charges before the following step to make a member to the innocent customers.

These kinds of fraud and deceit of business should be terminated to protect any customer to use internet.

I've had this same issue. Thank you (all of you) for posting your concerns and info. I didn't realize until I read these comments that it was a scam. I simply wrote it off as a service I signed up for, and forgot the website.

Thanks. I've lost about 60 bucks to this company.

These Mother F----ers charged me about $80 total. I used the card that my credit would be most relevant to; it also happened to be the card I never use, so I rarely check on the balance (since I figured it was always at $0). I should have stopped it a long time ago, but I figured they were just doing it as a one time thing, then it kept appearing. I'm going to talk to my sister who is an attorney for the largest law firm in the world, and see what she can do.

Somebody help me get rid of them. I never authorized them. I don't know who they are and i cant get rid of them. I have called and i even got someone to say they would cancel and give rebate but that did not happen. Is the only way to change my account number. From reading some of the complaints it looks as if i may have got hooked up with them by requesting my annual free report. If this is the case someone owns me a lot of money.

Has anyone successfully gotten rid of the. Maybe it would not be bad if they really did something but i don't even know what they do and they have not done it for me.

I had called and canceled. They stopped charging me for one month and then suddenly started charging me again. I still have the confirmation number from last time I cancelled! This time I called the [protected] number and got a live person. I copied down the confirmation/cancellation number and read it back to her 3 times. I also got her first and last name. I told her if I am ever again charged for this I will be calling back and asking for her boss so she can pay the fee! What a rip off company!

Please I checked my credit card on 12/05/2007 and I saw that your company has deducted $11.95 . For me the day I used your credit report I used it basically on the statement of the advert that it was free and I saw there that I could buy some products to be maintaining the free report which i did not click to buy.How come now based on your advert and my trust in your company that I AM SECURED I used my credit number and through this my account started being charged without you even get confirmation from me through e-mail or phone .If the statement was very clear to me on that day I wouldn't have used your advert not because of any other thing, I am not financially o.k now with my family. I PLEAD that this charge should be return to my account because your advert did not bodly emphasis on this AS IT EMPHASIZED ON credit FREE REPORT and please with immediate effect now help me to cancelled it till when I shall able to bear the cost.

Thanks for your understanding.

When I complained to MNI about my free Credit Report that cost me $11.95, they said tough, tell your credit card company. My Card blocked the charge this month but could not do anything about the previous charge. Let me sign on to the law suit...

If you are trying to cancel your so called account, keep calling and pick different options. But try to pick an option that doesn't show that your are trying to cancel the account cause when I did that, it kept giving me a busy signal or just hanging up on me. But keep calling. They scammed me on that 3in 1 too. I never viewed all three. One popped up and then my screen kept changing to the other reports without my permission or me clicking to view them. I was then charged $30. I called and asked for my money back and they said no. They said I viewed all three and I said that I didn't. I asked her to tell me the scores and right after she told me the scores, I asked her to cancel the account a take my card # out of their system and then she hung up on me. This was in Nov 07. It is now Dec 07 and I was charged $11.95. Thats is when I called numerous of times and finally got someone and asked her what it was or and she told me for changes being made to my report. I asked her what the change was and she said there was no change, that it is just a monthly charge. I told her I had no idea about either and made no agreement to be charged for either. I then told her to cancel the account and take my # out of the system. I finally got rid of them, I hope. I picked the 3rd option if you want to try that one when you call. But keep calling.

I am more than ready for a class action lawsuit. As a matter of fact, anyone know where they are located at? I find that things can be done much easier in person and results are instant.

After being charged $9.95 for 8 months, I could never figure which credit site it was I was being charged from. Tonight I decided to do a search for MNI and found this lovely site! I plan to call them relentlessly over the next week until they know my name so well it will be as if they've known me forever... ###.

SAME THING WITH ME!

Husband's been deployed better part of 2 years, had no idea what was "really" going on until now.

10 bucks a month for 2 years! That adds up!
