I found a number to call to get real help. Ask for a Supervisor, you may have more than one account open. I did. They told me I had two accounts opened and all it was is they were using my husbands name as my second account and still charging me. I canceled not knowing there were two accounts so when i called back and asked why i was still being charged and gave my conf# they said they didn't know why because i was canceled i gave them the credit card that was charged and sure enough they had another account on there in my husbands name. I again cancelled this time with his "account" and got another conf#. I also contacted my bank and put a stop to them accepting charges from MNI also known as wwwfreecredit.com and number [protected] Good Luck! Oh make sure you ask for someone that speaks English.

I called them five times, and on the previous four attempts the phone call would just die out. I think they do this on purpose so 99% of the people who call (people like you and me that got f*cked by these motherf*cking crooks) will just give up. Keep trying and eventually, you'll be connected to a representative. It took me five tries. They basically told me in a very stern manner that they didn't give two [censored]s about me getting scammed by them. Tell them that you want to cancel any further f*cking "services" from them, and they will give you a confirmation # (mine was 9 digits long). Make sure that you ask for the representatives full name in case they try to deny that you ever canceled. The # that I called was [protected].
Their entire argument was that my $11.95 fee that came out of f*cking nowhere, was part of the "service" that came along with my "free" one time credit rating. Yes, I was curious what my credit score was so I went to freecreditreport.com. I thought it was FREE as they advertised, but these f*cking crooks always have some sort of hidden agenda. Within a day, my card was charged a $2.00 fee from some random company. I figured it was the credit company, and since $2.00 was not a significant charge, I let that one slide. About 2 months later, I was charged another random fee this time for $12.00. I never signed up for any offers they had, only for the ONE time FREE credit report.
They send you e-mails urging you to return to their site for another "free" checking service. DON'T BUY INTO THAT F*CKING [censored]! If you click the link, you are obliviously signing up for a service!
CALL THEM IMMEDIATELY AND TELL THEM TO F*CK OFF!
By the way, I would definitely like to see this company go down in flames. I can't stand f*cking cheaters and crooks! If anyone seriously wants to take this to the next level and file a class action complaint, PLEASE E-MAIL ME!
Good luck!

I just called to cancel my (unaware of)credit report charges. I asked how you even knew how to check the service since you were charged anyway. She said you would receive an e-mail if you had any activity or negativity items posted to your report. So in other words you are paying for something you might not get. She said it was an Identity Theft program.

I just got charged too. I just verified that MNI stands for Mighty Net, Inc., 9040 Topanga Canyon Blvd Fl 2, Canoga Park, CA 91304, phone number [protected] (they also have a PO Box that they will give to you because they don't want you to know that street address). the PO Box number is 9153.
I told them that there are 5 pages of charges on complaintsboard.com and that I was going to make a post too. "Phil" was not real pleased to hear that, but immediately agreed to reverse the charges (conformation number [protected] - if you're interested).

I agree, I've been getting billed for the last few months for 11.95. I just called the company using the [protected] number and was pretty quickly talking to a live person. They cancelled my account and told me they were going to give me a refund for the last charge. My credit card company suggested the i make a not of the names of all the people I talked to and the date and time I talked to, because with that information, if they don't cancel the account, then they can fight the charge.

I just looked on my credit card I am being charged 11.95 for something and I do not know what it is. I did not ask for it I did not sign up for anything. The only thing I did was do a FREE credit check through this website, it asked for my credit card number and I couldn't understand why. Now I understand it was so you could get free money off me. I would like this to be taken off my card or I will have it returned and that card closed. I did not ask for this charge nor did I sign up for my card to be charged. Please keep this in mind when you are deciding to return it or not because I can report you for fraud. Thank you and have a wonderful day!

2-13-08 - Just was on the phonr with MNI Credit Report people, they ask for your credit card number and social security number! JUST SAY NO! I gave them my name and address and told them to cancel. If they wouldn't comply, I said I would file fraud charges against them with the Federal Trade Commission. I know I won't see my $$ back, but they gave me a cancellation number and said there would not be any further charges off my card. Their phone now is [protected] out of CA. Good hunting.

These people actually charged me for something that wasn't supposed to be charged at all. I went to a website to request a free credit report and in order to request it I had to put up the number of my card, yet it was rejected. So I figured that that was the end of the story but I get a charge yesterday for 15 bucks saying I got a report. I don't even remember the site I came from much less why I am being charged but I do know that I never was able to purchase anything. Yar, scam.

I attempted to get a "free credit report" and they starting to scam me for $11.95 this month, one day after I reviewed the credit report. I just got off the phone with Credit Report .com at [protected] and got a live person named Kenneth Sweeney. He allegedly canceled my subscription, because I did not call in within 30 days. He then tried to get me to transfer to a person with a smaller package because I really need this protection. I declined and then he wanted to transfer me to a "Sweepstakes" line, so that I could be a winner. I told him he would be the winner if he would cancel this scam and he said he did. He gave me a cancellation #. This is a scam and it should be stopped. I am willing to join into a group action against these scam artists know as MNI, Privacy Matters 123, and others. My email is above. Thank you.

We were charged to our bank account when we could not afford this charge causing huge bank charges that we cannot afford to have. This is totally devastating. Why do these people keep getting away with this? They just take our money and they seem totally ok with it and that is wrong. We are on a very very fixed income.

I, too, have been getting charged for 2 months before it registered that i never signed up for this service. I called the number on my credit card bill [protected]) and spoke to a customer service rep immediately. I canceled the subscription today. She tried to talk me in to staying in the credit monitoring service and every time i declined, she kept pressuring me "about the great service and a new contest where i could win $25K if i stayed on". NO THANK YOU! I took the cancellation number down as well as her name. I will be monitoring my credit card statement after this to see if they actually cancel me out.

Yes they are a total fraud. I just check my credit card statement and i got charged like $12.00 dollar from a company that i didn't even know. when i do research it's MNI credit report and i decided to do research about it and found you guys. They were a total fraud because it was a one time free credit report that i signed up for, and it's simply because i was curious what's my credit score. Now they are charging me for something i didn't even ask for, a membership. Ofcourse i called my credit card company to notify an unidentify credit charge and i was transfer to the MNI customer service or whatever it is. The associate was giving me major attitude saying "you dont' want to protect your identity and credit.. blah blah blah". i was totally pissed at that point, and a lecture from someone i don't know doesn't help. So people be carefule where you get your "FREE" credit report. Also, the reason why they charge you every month because they are supposedly "monitoring your credit" and "protect your identity" for you. So who's going to protect my credit charges from them? anyway. i'm still on hold now for more than 30 minute to dispute this charge. Unfortunately i cannot get a refund the because i've been unsuspectedly charged for more than 30 days already, but fortunately, i will never be charge by them again. i've stopped the vicious cycle of scamming. hahaha j/k
anyway i think the website was "creditreport.com" don't have it mistaken for "freecreditreport.com" which i will be using from now on.

Write a letter to your state attorney general, the attorney general where MNI has its business address, and detail the specifics of your dealings with them. Date, times if you can, and the details from your credit card. Ask your credit card for documentation of the automatic charges, including the so-called "authorization"... how it was obtained, what kind of charge validation was done.
CC the letter you've sent to your state AG and their state AG to your credit card, and notify them to refuse all additional charges by this company. You can't request reimbursement or reversal of the money already paid out, but you can definitely refuse all future charges.
If there's any means of unsubscribing to the "free credit report" service, do so. Immediately. If there is not, then this too needs to go into the letter to the state AGs.
They may not be able to take any action directly on your case, but they will, if they receive enough documented complaints, see there is a need to crack down on this fraud.

FreeCreditReport.com is a bunch of crooks! I got my "Free" credit report a year ago, and now they decide to charge my card?! I saw the transaction post and tried to get it removed but my financial institution wouldn't approve it! I've canceled the both of them!
What's worst is freecreditreport.com is going on an all-out Advertising Blitz, and they will likely draw in MANY more unsuspecting victims! Be fore-warned people!

I ordered what I thought was a "free credit report" from these people in March, 2007. It is now January, 2008 and they are still charging my credit card for $9.95 per month. I didn't even realize it was happening, as my husband pays the bill, and assumed it was a legitimate transaction. I have tried to call them, but they continue to charge me.

Why do these people keep getting away with this? They just take our money and they seem totally ok with it and that is wrong. We are on a very very fixed income.
One year ago i signrd up to get a credit report and then called and canceled. One year later and i am still being charged and I can not find this company anywhere. The employees at freecreditrepot.com gave me a number to conact MNI and it is [protected] I have been trying to call there for a year now and it tells me continue to hold experiencing high call volume, then the music stops and I just sit there for ever. I signed up through credit report.com so please be sure to keep you cancel confirmation number if you sighn up through tthis company.
02/25/08 Called again today thyey gave me the run around and refused to quit billing. I have protested the charge for 6 straight months, this is definetly a con ---spread the word.
i just read all the complaints, how much money
are they stealing on a monthly basis.? why isnt
something being done,. and yes i want to be apart
of any class action suit.
I also had the same problem,I was charged twice before i notice anything please keep me posted about the legal action that you are taken so i can figure out what to do next.
You charged my credit card 11.95. I want it taken off because i did not order a report. Also cancel account.
Had the same problem. Order my yearly credit check a month ago. One month later recieved a $11.95 Charge from MNI. Followed this advice and called the (866) number to cancel. Make sure to get a confirmation number for your records. B.S. Some one should sue them.
i dont know what everyone is talking about i just called there and the represenative was very nice and told me exactly how this happened. i got a refund that day. sucks for yall
I want you to stop billing me 9.95 now. I did not sign up for your service and do not want it
FreeCreditReport.com is a bunch of crooks!
I am being charged my minicredit $12.95 to my bank acct. I did not authorize this and cannot find where to cancel. Please advise. Thank you, Susan.
This is total B.S my husband got the credit report service more than 6 months ago and they have been charging me 11.95 every few weeks, and we havent been recieving anything from them nor did we authorize this! On my bank it shows up as $11.95 CARD TRANSACTION : MNI*CREDITRPT SERVICES, [protected], CA Im calling the number that was on the first page of complaints. Hopefully this will be stopped for good!
I was charged $11.95 to my bank account without my authorization. I am a college student who can't afford this. I don't know who is doing this, but it has to stop. Hopefully my bank will stop these charges.
