I had viewed the TV advertisements for this firm, with Montel Williams as sponsor. The ad says just about everyone will be approved. I inputed my infor., including my social security number. When I submitted to see the terms of any potential agreement, within 2 seconds the website responede that I did not qualify. There is no way that could have been determined that fast. This whole thing seems to be a SCAM. It really upsets me that they have now captured my soc. sec. number. DO NOT COMPLETE THE FORM FOR THIS LOAN. This company is a SCAM.. I thought Montel Williams was better than this!

people, you can't blame monetel for this. if he hasnt applied for it, and doesnt know that the thing is a scam, then we wouldn't be promoting it. be adults and take responsibility for your own actions. you should be smart enough to not apply for a loan and give your social security number ONLINE! it could go anywhere. people can hack int your accounts. you never know what your going to encounter. stop [censor]in about montel williams. its not his fault.

Thank you very much for all of you speaking out. I called today and they ask for me to go to the web site. I have been calling that 800 number thinking that I will get someone soon and not once has any one picked up. I was on my way to the web site when I hit the letter "S" and seen the words "Money Mutual Scams" I came here not thinking about it much until I started reading what was left. Thanks to all of you I will not be leaving my information.

Every one who feels that this is montel williams fault can hush it. He didn't tell any one to go and get a loan thru money mutual. America is so financially twisted that when someone offers a helping hand I.E president obama, oprah, ellen, and others we're so quick to jump the handle! I myself thought about going with money mutual not because of montel but because a little extra money wouldve helped but after seeing your comments I feel sorry for the ones who got scammed and for the economy of america!

Wow...I'm glad I read this!I guarantee you everybody who went to this company was because of Montel Williams.I'm just glad I did a little research by reading this board. So I thank you all for your stories. You can say people are irresponsible for thier financial situations. But, it doesn't make it right in this country to be taken advantage of.Remember those adjustable home loans...YEAH...bait and switch!

Question? How did anybody on this board hear about Money Mutual?Through a friend or family member who's done it.Hell no, You got it from watching Montel Williams advertising it.Even though I didn't do this loan and got robbed, dont tell me he has NOTHING to do with why everyone here even considered it.Don't be so critical of people who got caught up, because obviously you considered it or you wouldn't be on this board...NOW WHAT?

I really need the money so bad...but I wish I had researched Money Mutal before agreeing to a $400.00, finance charges were $120. making my loan a total of $520.00. They told me they would deduct $120.00 every 2 weeks from my checking acct. I called today and they said the $120 was only to extend my loan for 2 more weeks. why would anyone agree to this kind of BS? I was explained to me at the time I got the loan. So far I have paid then $480 to date. they said if I pay-off today my balance is still $570.00. making my loan now $1050 damn dollars. It was not explained to me this way at the time of the loan. I was going to pay off my little $40.00 I thought was my balance. My hours have been cut at my job. I can never pay this back. I am so pissed at the inital loan rep ...and most of all feeling so stupid. I should have never listened to Montel...lol

Wow! I am too glad that I read this mm complaints, I received the offer yesterday in the mail and was tempted to apply but something told me to check the company out first and the first thing I see is the complaints. I hurried up and tore that card up. I used to work at a payday advance company and used to laugh at people coming in and getting charged all that money for a loan. Now I'm one of them people and it's not so funny. I will never apply for loans on the Internet, if you read the small print it tells you mm is not the lender they send your information off to some other lender unheard of. So only God knows where your info is being sent. Lesson learned hear is that we need to better manage our finances, and yes the unexpected bill will appear at any given time, but still we have to save the money and better prepare ourselves so we won't be getting scammed out of money we already don't have. After this loan is paid, I'm gone plan on saving at least 500 dollars in the bank so I will never have to deal with a place like pay day advances. They are loan sharks and is only out for your money! Good luck to all!

Wow, I just saw the Ad on Television today with Montel, Shame on HIM! I too was thinking of using this company, (I'm one of those people that have fallen off the EDD numbers list and our family is falling apart, our world is just crumbling as we know it). And no, I'm not a bum, I have never been out of work in my life, 52 years old and I'll do anything. Recycling cardboard and digging through dumpsters now to keep, literally a loaf of bread and milk in the house. But after reading about all the posts everyone has compiled I won't be using them. I want to thank each and everyone of you for taking the time to document this SCAM endorsed by Montel Williams. I thought I was smarter than this, I thought I could detect any SCAM there was. Obviously I was wrong. For all of you people that unfortunately have had horrible things happen to you from following Montels' advice, my prayers are with you all. I'm so sorry. I can't thank you all enough.

I to am very glad that this information has been put out there like this, although unfortunately I did not do my homework before I applied for the loan. I didn't give my banking information I did give my SS# OMG! I pray that no one uses my number. I applied over the phone and after talking to the young lady on the phone and telling her the same thing over 3 times she could not understand what I was telling her I started to feel very uncomfortable about talking to her so I just hung up the phone. As for Montel you would think he would let the public know that this is a SCAM! before they endorse anything their agents look into what it is they are promoting. I have lost ALL RESPECT for Montel and everything he stands for. SHAME ON YOU MONTEL AND MONEY MUTUAL!

I had applied for one of these loans durring the month of October. I was approved fro what ever it was i needed. i ended up with a loan for $400.00. When i was talking to the loan officer we had set up payment method to come directly from my chcking account. I agreed to pay back the loan in $120.00 payments. It has been 3 months now and they are still taking mney out of my account. I was approved through American web loans. To date they have taken out $600.00 from my checking. I called and they said that each payment was a $120.00 finance fee to extend the loan. I was under the impression that this was a payment arrangement. HELL NO it was not. They are crooks!

We are already behind on our bank account, and when I saw the commercial for Money Mutual, I thought that this was what we were looking for, I mean, it's Montel Williams, so I didn't think it would be a scam. I went to the site, and ever FAQ is basically a run around to confuse people into thinking its all just fine, you get no direct answers. I'm so thankful for all of you that posted and stopped me from making a huge mistake, and feel just awful that you all trusted someone America thinks is a "good person" and now you are in a horrible situation. Why hasn't anyone tried contacting Montel on his site and bashing him for this? After all these people have been betrayed and scammed, why hasn't something been done yet? Why are they still playing the commercials? WHY hasn't Montel got his head out of his ### and made a statement or tried to help fix this?! I'm so sorry for all of you, but thank you for your comments, they saved me even more. I'd rather be broke and in the negative for now, then have to worry about being stolen from for weeks, let alone months after borrowing a small amount to save us for a brief moment. Good luck to all who were vitcims!

Like it or not Montel Williams is a celebrity and people will buy into a company because of a celebrities status. True it probably wasn't the best idea. But these are hard times and seeing Montel on the commercial would seem to give that company credibility. If he doesn't know what MM is about then shame on him. He should have done research before endorsing such a scam. Should he be held responsible probably not. However no one has the right to tell others that they are not allowed to feel the way they do about him. I am glad this site exists and and I have a lot of respect for the people posting on here. It's not easy to admit you were a victim of the scam. And the others that act like they are better because they can wait until their next payday or borrow from family are just ###s that need to get off your high horse. That may not always be an option for some. Everyone lives a different life and MM may have seemed like a place to get real help. You should always do more research before giving out any of your personal information. And I am sorry that anyone had to go through this to learn such a hard life lesson.

Money, everybody could use some, but no payday loan is a good investment on your hard earned cash. The old addage "something for nothing" does not exist. 30% to 90% to 150% is the usual going interest for loans without credit checks. If you have abused your credit rating to the point to be in need of such services, expect to get ripped off and further in debt than ever before. If you have a job, do you have a 401 plan, try borrowing from this source. Interest is minimal, usually less than 10% and, in most plans, if you have been with your job for 5 years or more or are over 59 years of age, there is a yearly, one time, within service provision where you can take a portion on your money down (no pay back). Credit unions are usually good sources for loans, you have money going in, you can get money out. And, last but not least, you can file bankruptcy, one of those chapters 13 or 11 (I forget which) allows you to pay your creditors over a 5 year period of time. Creditors can't take your car, furn off your utilities, repossess your furniture, garnish your wages or put you out of your home or apartment. You can file or refile this action at least once a year (check your state laws) and I guarantee no foreigner will be calling you on the phone. Or, in the alternative, two can play that game, take the loan, get three references from the telephone book, close your bank account after receipt, change your telephone number. I seriously doubt these perps will call you employer, espcially if you work for the State of Nobody. Cuddles.

When I hit apply with Money Mutual it connected me to numerous Pay-Day & Quick/Same Day Loan Lender. When I completed what I thought was the Money Mutual Loan form and complete such information as e-mail address, cell phone number, etc. I was bombarded with e-mail and cell calls in the hundreds as well as being ripped of by some Lender I don't even know for $30.00 dollars. I only did this, because I'm a Montel Williams Fan ... But No More and What a Scam ! Don't Apply Ever !

it is clearly stated in their terms that they will use your info for marketing from third-party companies. In other words, once you give them your info, you give them the right to contact you in in any means possible.

it is not a "scam" if they fully disclose this policy, which they did. You clearly did not bother to read the terms.

from their site:

"If you choose to provide personal information, it will be used for and/or shared with trusted third parties such as Loan Providers and/or other financial service providers, credit bureaus, and for marketing products and services that you might find of interest. People should try getting loans by a more reputable means, which always takes a little more time. Sometimes you just have to learn to do without some things and sacrifice them for a while. Try opening up a couple of new credit card accounts and paying it off when you can. As you do this your credit gets better, and the credit limit on the cards will gradually increase. You can take a cash advance from an ATM machine with your cards when you need it, but be careful to pay it off as quickly as possible. Scammers always prey on the desperate, so don't make a hasty decision, because it may carry heavy consequences afterward.

Unfortunately, I had just applied for a loan and was approved for

Unfortunately, I had applied for a loan a little over an hour ago on April 17 at 11:00 p.m. After reading these comments, I immediately sent them an email thru their site and my personal email asking them to cancel the loan.. I also went ahead and filed a complaint with the attorney general here in Louisiana. I just basically wanted my greivance to be onn file that I did cancel the loan in case they try to force it on me. Now, I have to go to my bank tomorrow and see if there is anything that can be done. For everyone calling people like me stupid, desperation makes a person do things they would necer normally do. I pray to God that you never end up in our situation.

Thanks to the information in the reviews I didn't even look any further into the scam. My feelings are that Montal is the biggest ### and also when you really watch his TV show he is way out there for me. I just seen the TV ad. for something that sounds like it might help. The U.S. goverment should get involed and also look at Montel to see if he's involved=I know if you were to ask him if he knew that the he was hurting the poor people in the U.S.and he doesn't care what race (white-black) makes no differance. He's got his money. I would say it's time for alittle pay back-- STOP WATCHING his shows and his rattings will drop off and that will force the networks to take him off the air. How could you ever believe any thing he had to say or even agree with any social problems that we as amercians face in our laws.

I applied for a loan from this company five days ago and have yet to hear anything from them. I will check with my bank to make sure they have not made any withdraws. What a fraud. This company promised to make a decision within an hour when I first looked at the sight. It sounded good, so I applied. They told be old me it would be 72 hours before I would received a decision. Didn't Montel say all you needed was to have a job making $800 or $850 a month. What a waste of time. He must be getting paid really good to endorse a MAJOR FRAUD! If they make any withdraws from my account without first depositing the loan I requested, I should report them for theft. Smells like an identity theft scam to me!
