My husband and I decided to deliver our baby at this hospital based on the good reviews from acquaintances. Had we known all the troubles we were going to face we would have elected to take our business elsewhere.
I am a self pay patient and therefore purchased a maternity package that was suppose to cover everything with my delivery. We paid a little over 4K plus my doctor fee (another $1,300) which I knew was also something we needed to cover. Everything seemed to run smoothly until 1 1/2 weeks later post pardum we go to check our mailbox only to find out an outrages bill for a little over 1K for the anesthesiologist! We were never told we would be getting additional bills for our hospital stay (supposedly everything was covered, hence the package). They failed to let us know of these additional bills we would be charged.
My family and I live paycheck to paycheck and struggled to come up with the maternity package to begin with and now we are having to face these "hidden fees" that the hospital failed to let us know of.
Never again will I return to this hospital! You never know what you will encounter.
Another thing is that this hospital is so hard to get in touch with, they never answer their phones and when I needed to pay for my maternity package it took about 4 days of having to come daily from my home to the hospital to try to find the financial lady who takes these payments (in all the hospital there is only 1 lady who takes this payment). When we asked for her nobody knew who she was...the whole place seems like it is run by volunteers who know nothing about anything regarding hospital services and directing you where you need to be. In those 4 days of coming daily to look for her I waisted so much gasoline and so much time, all of this because nobody answers the phone. I am beyond tired of all of the issues we are having to face and not having the money to pay for these secret fees nobody told us about. Never again will I return!
Desired outcome: Resolution: not paying for those additional fees we are being charged for that nobody told us about. It was the hospitals fault for not informing us. We are low income people who have no way of coming up with that extra money to pay it.
