I ordered a cd about how to apply for government grants and was told that I would be charged $2.95. They said that the cd was free and I just had to pay for shipping. I just got my cc statement and they charged me $39.95. This is credit card fraud and if $39.95 is not credited back to my card by the end of February, 2009. I will contact the Texas Attorney Generals Office and file a complaint for, interstate credit card fraud. Mabey the U.S. Attorney's office would be interested in this.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
all they said is that they'd send a cd and all you have to do is pay for shipping charges, right?
the same thing happened to me. call this number: [protected].
apparently we are automatically subscribed to something i'm not even sure what.
tell them your complaints and they'll unsubscribe you and refund you your money back.
hope this helps!
Ordered a free cd authorized payment of 2.95 for shipping charges after submitting my credit card information I discovered this website is a scam and contacted my credit card company and was informed that once you have given your credit card information whatever entity is in possession of your number can receive an authorization code to charge your account at anytime. The credit card company for whatever ridiculous reason cannot prevent additional charges until they occur and then you must go through a dispute process which can often be time consuming and tie up the return of your funds for sometime only then will the credit card company deny futher transactions from that entity. However the problem then lies with the fact that having your credit card information available who is to stop them from shutting down one entity and begin another and another and submitting charges to your existing credit account over and over again? My personal solution to prevent any further charges going against my account was to simply request that my card be blocked and a new credit card and number be sent to me which may take 7 to 10 days to receive. In the future I shall be more careful to who I give my credit card information to! Fortunately they only hit me for a lousy 2.95 yet I still feel victimized . Life without parole for those at mygrantsite.net SHAME ON YOU!
I GOT THEIR PHONE NUMBERS ..THESE PEOPLE ARE SCAMMING THOUSANDS OF INNOCENT PEOPLE BY OFFERING A GRANT INFO CD FOR $2.95 AND THEN CHARGING PEOPLES PAYPAL ACCOUNTS AND BANK ACCOUNTS WITH HIDDEN FEES..I HAVE HAD 3 SO FAR, 1 FOR $39.9O, 1 FOR $39.95 AND ANOTHER TODAY FOR $7.95..I SNAPPED OUT ON A PAYPAL SUPERVISER THIS EVENING AND SHE RELUCTANTLY GAVE ME THE PHONE #FOR WWWMYGRANTSITENET CUSTOMER SERVICE AND HERE IT IS [protected] OR [protected]
I CALLED THEM AND SNAPPED OUT TOO, AND GOT THE WHOLE BOGUS THING CANCELLED SUPPOSEDLY AND A FULL REFUND, GETTING CANCELLATION NUMBERS TO VERIFY THE REFUNDAGE TOO..WHEN YOU CALL DONT BE NICE BECAUSE THEY WILL TRY TO CONVINCE YOU THIS IS YOUR MISTAKE, SO DONT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER, GET LOUD IF YOU HAVE TO AND ASK TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE WHO SPEAKS FREAKIN ENGLISH IF YOU CANT UNDERSTAND THE ARABIC JIBBERISH...PEACE OUT, THE BOGUS TRANSACTION SPOILER
I responded to an online ad to "Get government grants".
That site sent me to "Video Professor" that told me my charges would be a total of $2.00(two) My credit card was charged the $2.00 AND a charge of $39.95 for the "free" Grantsite report. I was never informed nor was I aware there would be this charge. The sum of $39.95 appeared NOWHERE in the online ad or in the Video Professor explanation. This is more than fraud, it is THEFT.
I too just experienced this and have called to have my money reimbursed.
I guess from now on we should be very leary of anyone asking for such privilaged information.
The number I called was [protected].
I also went to: http://mygrantsite.net/billingInquiry.cfm?SendEmail

But after talking to them on the phone we straightened it out and got the money back. Call custer service at [protected] Just remember its not a scam and they do offer a good product.

This company made me overdrawn in my account to. I'm calling the bbb on them.
I authorized $1.14 for a CD on grants. They have taken the $39.95 that is the membership access fee. I haven't agree to join anything yet. The wording on the form is "Membership access is $39.95 per month should you choose to continue! This is an unauthorized charge and I won't stop complaining until I get a refund! The phone number only rings no answer!
Charged $39.95 to credit card for bogus membership. Initial offer for "free" CD and "trial" membership. No CD received and where was the trial? Demand full refund of $39.95 to credit card on file and no authorization of future charges.
$39.95 was withdrawn from my account without authorization on Wednesday, March 4, 2009.
Call this number [protected] or go to Mygrantsite.net web page I call that number and got great help and my money will be retrun to my bank and my acount was remove
I purchased a cd for $1.14 on how to get goverment grants. There was no other mention of a $39 95 fee. This fee is now being taking from my checking ACCOUNT. I want this money back NOW! This is fraud.
I purchased a cd for 1.95 and now this site is taking 39.95 from my checking account for what? I want my money (39.95) back now! This is a total scam! I will press charges if my money is not returned!
Pissed off in Michigan!
I have seen so many of these emails/advertisements. Thankfully, I did not put in my credit card number. Occasionally, a "live chat" will appear when I try to close the site. I start the chat and say "I'll try it for free, then pay you when I have earned the fee."
No luck!
I did finally stumble into a program that is real and legitimate. It is 15 years old. I joined last December and have been paid. It's not much right now, but my AlertPay account has money! If you would like to know more about this program, please email me at holdermb@yahoo.com with "Please send more info." in the subject line. Thanks.
I didn't comlpete the order, just closed the browser and they still charged my credit card. Foun this to be a scam in the consumer affairs site. How do I reach them to cancel this order.
Thank you, I called that number and got everything cancelled. For anyone else calling the [protected] number to cancel these charges on your credit card, remember to ask them to cancel all other subscriptions becuase they automatically enroll you other program which require additional fees.
Like others that have written--a CD was $2.29 on 02-01-09;
another charge if $39.95 was taken also on 02-09-09
and again on 02-19-09 another charge of $39.95. There is no
phone number to call only an email address of
www.mygrantsite.net
There is also a number of 877-495 with the address of Las Vegas.NV
I certainly want this money returned.
Shirley Pitzer pitzershirley@yahoo.com
My Discover card has a $2.29 charge for a CD on 02-01-09;
on 02-09-09 there was a charge of $39, 95 . Again on 02-11-09
there was another charge of $2.29 for a CD and on 02-19-09 there
was another charge of $39.95. I certainly want to have one $2.29
returned and the two charges for $39.95 credited to my account.
Thank you

jack in north carolina. grantsnet.com are lying thieves, lower than b. madeoff! lets burn them down! $2.29 does not add up to $39.95
PLEASE READ THIS...IT WILL HELP YOU!
I ordered a CD for $2.29 and then was charged $39.95 a week later. I immediately came online to find out the bad news...i was duped.
I came across this message board and realized that hindsight is 20/20 and I should have checked them out BEFORE forking over my credit card info.
The bad news is the site does state the charges and if you were lucky enough to get the "FREE BONUS GIFT" listed at the bottom of the page you will also get hitwith a $72.21 charge from Google Tresure Chest!
Whoopie!
During my 16 minute on hold wait for customer service I decided to ask why I was being charged the $39.95, what am I getting for the money...turns out you get access to a search database of actual government grants which can be seen for free at www.grants.gov
Since I wasn't getting my money back I told her I would keep the service for the month and check it out.
Once she found out I was not a hostile she offered to cancel the "affiliate services" I was inadvertently signed up for...funny thing is I didn't even know they were responsible for the Google Treasure Chest she just wanted to help me out since I decided to keep their service. She even offered to lower the monthly fee of $39.95 for me!
I know you're upset but the bottom line is the fine print is just under the really large SUBMIT button and it states you will be charged for the monthly fees. Just like everything else in life...this offer was too good to be true.
Hurry up and call [protected] to cancel they charge on the 2nd of the month.
You can also go to www.grantmembersite.com and see what you're paying for!
If you want to see the fine print then "google" wwwmygrantsitenet and click to the 2nd page...You will see the actual order page listed, NOW look for the fine print and have your "DOH" moment!
Just in case you're lazy like me - Here are the terms from the site:

PEOPLE!
call [protected]
Make sure you tell them to cancel ALL services there are up to three you inadvertantly signed up for buying the CD.
The fine print is listed on the site and we are all idiots for not reading it!
I just found the site through GOOGLE and it says in really tiny letters right under the really big SUBMIT button that we will be charged a monthly fee and many others for affiliate services.
I was on hold 16 minutes but when they finally picked up - they were more than happy to cancel the services for me...ALL OF THEM!
Here they are:
mygrantsite.net
google treasure chest
network agenda
First of all you are not giving out the right number! I just called and spoke to customer service today the number is [protected]. They were polite and helpful.
Here are the terms listed on the site that show we are the idiots for not reading them before ordering!

I got a phone call asking if I wanted a cd for grants. I clearly stated NO I had received some a while ago and never opened it. This evening I see $1.99 charged to my checking acct/debit card from this grantsite company. It may not be much, however if they have my info then they can up it and start with a monthly charge like I had before.
What can I do?
This guy is maliciously talented at misrepresentation.
Here he explains up front and clearly what he does not in his site.
In his site he does exactly the opposite of what he, here, apologizes for: He inverts what he wants you to see and stand out and diminishes and subdues what he doesn't want you to see.
Bottom line: There would not be so many people complaining of the same, exact scheme.
People don't take time to complain in "complaintsboards.com" if they were not
driven by a feeling of having been duped and misled into spending their hard
hard earned money, in these difficult times.
Mygrantsite.net can solve this problem very simply by laying out, menu
style, the choices the reader can select.
I have just cancelled this "government grants" scam. I never received an email from this with more information and have yet to received their "free" cd. I contacted customer service and have gotten confirmation codes for this cancellation. Hopefully they will not charged my account. I have also sent an email to their customer service department and have stressed the same desire to cancel this "stuff". I HAVE LEARNED A VERY VALUABLE LESSON WITH THIS! Hard work is how you get ahead in life, THE GOVERNMENT ONLY HELPS OUT BIG BUSINESS NOT PEOPLE WHO DO AN HONEST DAYS WORK!
NOW MAYBE I CAN GET SOME SLEEP WITHOUT WORRYING ABOUT SOMEONE TAKING MY HARD EARNED MONEY OUT FROM UNDER ME.
Good luck to those who have had more of a loss than I have.
Samantha
Man, I am so glad I found this site. I too was taken advantage of, couldnt beleive it.
My fraud protection at my bank caught it for me and contacted me and gave me a heads up. I am on hold with them this very minute. I hope it doesnt take 16 minutes. I didnt get a cd. they sent me some kind of program and it wouldnt even open. What a rip off. I came across their site on fastweb.com. Going to try and contact fastweb a tell them they should be a lil more choosey on who they let advertise there. Kids go to their site in order to look for scholarships.
they just hanged up on me. Man they are making me mad.
I have been charged for shipping/handling and for the CD, but nothing has been received.
What can I do to recoupe these costs?
I ordered a CD for 2.95 and am now being chared 39.95 and 58.61on my crdit card. I haven't received even the original2.95 disk
Ken Hess
BEING CHARGED 39.95 AND i JUST LOOKED AT THE SITE i DID NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM IT. NOW i HAVE NO WAY OF STOPPING CHARGES FROM MY CARD.
I NEVER AUTHORIZED ANY MONEY TO BE TAKEN FROM MY ACCOUNT! $39.95 NEEDS TO BE CREDITED IMMEDIATELY!
We got scammed. The phone numbers they give are also fake. Phone did'nt even ring. Ask for refund and all future charges stopped thru credit card service. I Wish us all luck.
I cancelled the CD and the membership the same day and I still have the e-mail confirming the cancellation and my card was still charged and they charged my card again 2 weeks later for another CD. I want the charges refuded.
there was information on a cd for only $2.95 that would be sent to my address. nothing was sent and the 2.95 with and additional 39.95 was taken from my account. that is theft and i need something done about it.
I just got off the phone with my bank and they can and have placed a stop payment on the fraudulent charges $39.95 made by the company in question. The charges may still show up on my account however they will be reversed imediately once they have cleared. It may take 3 business days to fix it but I was assured it would be fixed and that they will no longer be able to access my account. It is up to each individual consumer to monitor and act on these types of scams. Talk to your bank. Press them to stop payment on the unauthorized withdrawl and to block future attempts from this company to get into your accounts and they will. Also consider changing your check card to a new number. Sometimes this will help to stop them as well.
There it was, the unauthorized charge for 39.95. Couldn't contact company. My bank told me it could be from itunes. A pop up on applications(iphone) that when you want to close, you actually accept charges. This was posted to a brand new card, no other real way they could have got my info.
