On August 11, 2023, I caught a duplicate amount ACH for two different companies on the same day, August 11, 2023. One was legitimate and the other was not authorized by a company that I have had nothing to do with for about a year. I immediately contacted Navy Federal by email and phone to report this. Was told what to do, which was contact the company involved and given a case number, and they would do their end. This was after I was connected with at least 3 other reps who were not in the right department to help.
On the 14th and 15th, I recontacted Navy Federal to further discuss this matter. I was again told on the 14th it would be taken care of within ten days. On the fifteen, I spoke with someone who actually at least had a "Written Statement of Unauthorized Debit" completed and processed and would have to wait 10 days. I was also told that he saw nothing had been done referring to the case number.
Called one day early and had to call back. The next day, I was told that it would be refunded the next day. Fat chance. My trust in Navy Federal Credit Union has been diminished. Navy Federal or their bill pay service, Fiserv, is now in question whether it can be trusted.
We were passed around to anyone who said whatever they could to get us off the phone with no intention to help. It was one lie after another. Where is the person at the bank supposed to be on the customer's side against Fraud. Navy Federal Credit Union says to report fraud to their 888# or online right away. But when you call this number, this is a waste of your time unless you like being insulted again and again.
Desired outcome: We would like to have the money that was taken without authorization and returned back to our account as soon as possible.
