I have been scheduled to have an MRI procedure three times since I had a pacemaker put in by New Hanover Novant Health. I have tried to have these MRIs done at Novant Health in Bolivia. The first time it was canceled because Novant couldn't get the Boston Scientific technician to come to the hospital. I was called later and told to come in because the Boston Scientific technician from South Carolina was there and they would get me in. Success at last, thanks to the staff in the Radiology Dept.
I have had another MRI scheduled and I was told it would be 2 months before they could get it on the schedule. I said OK, and it was scheduled for 8/4/2023. On 8/4/2023 I received a phone call telling me the Boston Scientific technician is not going to honor that appointment, he was not coming, appointment was canceled.
I gave up and called my doctor and told them that Novant in Bolivia can't get the Boston Scientific technician to go to that hospital. The doctor sent the MRI request to New Hanover Novan Hospital. So today, I get scheduled for an MRI on 11/1/2023.
There has to be something that you folks can do about this backlog. It should not take 6 months to get an MRI. Why are you not providing coverage for all patients at all of your locations that have radiology departments with MRIs?
People should not have to wait 3 to 6 months to get an MRI, just because they are unfortunate enough to have a pacemaker.
Desired outcome: Enable all patients to get MRIs done in a reasonable time at all of your locations
