For two visits to a Novant PT (DOS July 14th, 2023 and July 28, 2023), my husband was billed $830. When I called to inquire why the charges were so high, the breakdown was insane. In addition to charging for time, each "therapy" was billed separately in timed increments. Even breathing exercises are billed. I have been to PT in private practices as well as through Atrium and never been billed this way. This was not made clear prior to visits, and feels extremely shady.
I have experienced questionable billing practices with Novant before. Honestly, some that were borderline fraudulent. Ex: I went for a drive thru covid test at the mall, and I was billed through another county's hospital and charged a doctor's fee (although a national guard/army member swabbed me), and charged the lab fees. One covid test that I thought was free due to government funding cost me over $300.
I have left all Novant practices we were previously affiliated with and will never again go to any provider that is owned by Novant.
Desired outcome: Bill reduced to a reasonable amount (ie a flat rate for an hour long PT session)
