Oreck review: XL professional air purifier airpb

Okay so I've been using Oreck XL tabletop air purifiers for a number of years and have enjoyed them. I have an older signature series type 3 AIR8, and a type 2 AIRPB. Recently I began hearing a ticking noise coming from the fan where it connects into the motor housing. I contacted my local Oreck service center and was advised that the rubber grommet needed to be replaced. He also informed me the product line had been discontinued... and much to my dismay, the parts have all been discontinued as well. Basically, Oreck decided to pull the proverbial supply rug out from under hundreds of thousands of customers who own these discontinued tabletop air purifiers. I can understand discontinuing a particular product, but why screw all of the customers that still use and enjoy them by eliminating the parts supply and other accessories? Obviously, whoever made that decision doesn't give a rats arse about the customer. I will NOT purchase anything from Oreck again. Moreover, I would advise anyone else to avoid them. A customer service rep actually told me "they could not promise the longevity of how long parts are manufactured."
