We recently travelled to Las Vegas, via auto, on a business trip, 5 day stay, and had problems with the customer service at/with Paris Hotel. I must mention this was a business trip not a vacation and made hotel reservations three(3) months prior to arrival. We reserved a non-smoking room due to medical problems, COPD/ASTHMA and paid the first day fees with our credit card. We tried to check in at 5:15 pm but since my wife's name wasn't on the reservation slip she wasn't allowed to check us in while I wasn't trying to get with-in a block of the hotel with our car. I forgot to mention that Paris security had the street block off, that's why my wife jump out of the car with our reservation/confirmation slip showing 2 adults, my ID and credit card. While waiting in line for twenty minutes she was told that she couldn't check us in to our non-smoking room because her name wasn't on the confirmation slip. Here's where I have a problem with their lack of customer service. The non-smoking room wasn't set aside at that time, because a few hours later we came back and was told that our pre-paid non smoking room was no longer available and we had to stay in a smoking room until the next day and all the hassle of moving. During the few hours that we stayed in the room before moving, my wife had to use her inhaler no less than three times. Prior to going to our unwanted smoking room I tried to resolve this with the behind the counter supervisor and got the same scripted answer(verbatim) from her as the check in clerk and I ask to speak to the on duty manager(Eric) he admitted that they should have set the room aside when my wife tried to check-in at 5:15 pm but didn't offer any way that we could get a non smoking room for the night. I suggested that maybe he could call over to Bally's which is part of the same hotel family as Paris, he stated "oh, they'd have the same problem" and as best as I can tell he didn't call Bally's. I found out later, approx. 30 minutes later, that his true interest was going home for the night because the electronic key that we got for the smoking room didn't work and I went back down to the check-in desk and ask to speak to him again and was told he had gone home for the evening, Long story but the Paris of Las Vegas will never get any of my business. There's a different attitude in Las Vegas now, which doesn't make any business sense to me. Customer service isn't high on their list once they get your credit card number. My professional group will be back in Las Vegas next year and I've made it known to our President of the below average customer service from Paris Hotel.
Recently (March 2018) my wife and some associates stayed at Paris Hotel in Las Vega and it was the worst experience of her life. Her room key would not function. She tried to get a new key but the hotel said she could not because . She was not feeling well and had not joined the others. Her phone was in the room so she asked if she could be escorted so she could get it and let the others know she was locked out. She is an international traveler and so are her associates she needed her out of country phone in order to make contact. They refused-they even refused if someone else could go get the phone. They told her to go and find her friends. She was in slippers and no jacket at night. She walked but could not find them. Returned to hotel and pleaded for their assistance which they refused. The situation escalated because they would not help her and finally after a heated discussion and argument the shift manager said to her "I'm done! Get out of the hotel I don't want to see your face here ever!" Can you imagine that. RUDE, ABUSIVE PERSON! They even called two big security guards to stand watch over her while the manager was verbally talking down to her. My wife is 4'11" and Asian decent and poses no threat to anyone yet they chose to abuse her and her associates. When her friends showed up the manager told her friends that if they allowed her to stay he would file trespassing charges again them ALL. They all left the hotel and went to another hotel. My wife ended up having a traumatic physical breakdown and the new hotel had her looked at by their medical staff on duty and then transported her to the emergency room at the hospital where she was treated for extreme high blood pressure and breathing problems. When her associates called me and told me what all had happened I called hotel management and all they said was because the situation escalated into an argument where words were exchanged they have to protect their staff. HUH?! They escalated the situation now they say protect their staff? HORRIBLE ! Because of this we will NEVER go back to Las Vegas and all I can say is warn others that if you stay at the Paris Hotel stay at your own risk !
