bankruptcy filing
This has been the worse experience ever… This has been the worse experience ever and the worse decision ever made! I hired Debstoppers back in January 2014 for a chapter 13. I received a call that my case after 5 years has been dismissed. The frustrating nature of this is that I have been trying to reach out to their office regarding my case since May 2019...

Beware of attorney fees
STOP! Don't do it. Get a second opinion and READ everything you sign. They are crooks! I went to DebtStoppers to seek advise about filing a bankruptcy because I had an apartment charge on my credit that total $7000 and a tax lien from the Dept of Revunue. They advised me that it was best I file a Chapter 13 to stop the harassment. I took their advice and...

I went to debtstoppers in Chicago, Ill. they did not advise me correctly on the chapter 13 or 7. I shoiuld have filled a 7 not a 13. They took their money off the top and bill collectors were still calling my job and home. They did not explain the process. When you try to reach them by phone, you never get the person who served you or a return call. When the bankruptsy was finished, I learned they did not include all of my creditors and they only paid my creditors a small portion so that there would be more left for them. Then, finally, when the BK was ended, because they did notE file the case properly, I was NOT dicharged by the trustee’s office. To re-open my case which was closed, I went thru HELL.
Payment Issues
False advertisement. Attorneys fail to return phone calls. My mortgage company did not receive some of the payments made thru debtstoppers. Attorneys collected money from my account, now I can't get them to even return my calls.

Can I file a Chapter 7 for car loan, traffic tickkets, IRS
Debtstoppers is a Fraud and need to be STOPPED by the consumers! Everyone who have a complaint against them need to file a complaint with the Bar Assc. in your state. Georgia Bar Assc. & Chicago Bar Association. Those are the two States there're in. DebtStoppers sits on their butts and collects money. They are Frauds! They don't any work for the consumers, as list all their debts, they don't fight a consumer mortgage company for them, they place you in a Chapter 13, and not Chapter 7, because they gets more money for Chapter 13. Some consumers don't need to file a Chapter 13 for their debt, Debtstoppers place them in a 13 to collect money. Many consumers would come out better filing a Chapter 7, to wipe all their debt out at one time, but Debtstopper always make the decision to file a chapter 13 instead. If a consumer is not having mortgage problems, a 7 is better for them to file and Not a 13. I've notice, even when a consumer have mortgage problems, Debtstoppers would tell the consumer, to deal with their mortgage outside of the Bankruptcy. "What", did I hear that correctly? Why shall a consumer deal with their own mortgage problems, when they files a Chapter 13? That's why the consumers pays Debtstoppers $3, 900.00, to deal with their mortgage problems and not pay a auto loan as a Secured debt, and over look the one & only Secured debt, the consumer mortgage. Debt Stoppers don't want to do any work for the consumers, as negotiate their debt down as the auto loan, if they could. If a consumer bought their auto a year, before they filed Chapter 13, Debt Stoppers should be able to reduce the value of their car and reduce the car payments. "But again, Debt stoppers don't want to work for your hard earned $3, 900.00 they collects from you". All Mortgages, "do you hear me Consumers", All Mortgages, are part of your Chapter 13 Bankruptcy! And especially, if you are behind in your mgt. payments! Don't allow Debt Stoppers to tell you any different! Consumers, wake up! Start filing complaints against this Fraud. File with the Bar Assc., in your State. File a complaint with your Congress Rep., in your district. File a complaint with the Federal Trade Comm. (FTC), to close them down. STOP, allowing this Dirt Bag Company get away with this. Bankruptcy is Federal and not State. That means, all Bankruptcy Laws are the same in Every State. Your home should always be included in a Chapter 13 Bankruptcy. Don't let Debt Stoppers tell you any different. Make them work for your Hard earned money. Make the Bar Assc., whom over all Attorney's Investigate their Illegal practices. Debt Stoppers Never answer phone calls & they don't return calls. "That's not Legal under Attorney/Client E. Code with the Bar Association. Make them hear you, with your Complaints!
DO you know about parkng tickets is t greatest st vovred on a chapter 7?
VERY UNPROFESSIONAL NEVER RETURNS CALLSBEEN WAITING 3 WEEKS FOR RETURN CALL
This is so TRUE. I have went almost 8 to 9 months trying to reach Mr. Aaron Weinberg and she refuse to call me back. He refuse to answer some of the question I asked. He then proceeded to yell at me like I was his child. I was unable to file a complaint with anyone.
Debt stopper is very unprofessional I wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy just like everyone that's complaining are not winders..it's the truth ..they are bad news if you have a important question to ask them they never .. Never answer the phone you will be on your own after they take your money..when you first start there will be a nice person to answer the phone after that you will meet with them and when they get your money you are on your own..never again in life and would not recommend anyone to debt stopper they are terrible

I have watched their commercials on TV. One woman raved about them. she said Debt Stoppers helped her and now she was able to buy a new home and a new car. Now does that make any sense at all. Who would give this person a mortgage and also a car . I hope no one would believe this commercial. By the way, the home they showed (just from the outside) looked like it was probably about $300, 000. How much of a down payment was she able to give the mortgage company. That commercial is totally ridiculous!
