careful with the idiots at deegan, owner has criminal record

I called Deegan Roofing and the girl on the phone was arrogant and impossible... I felt like she was doing me a favor just to speak with me. This is the first step for a business to go downhill. My roof started to leak AGAIN, after being reroofed and repaired for a leak after that. Mr. D did not show up but sent a young woman to assess the situation. I guess she doesn't know what she is doing

I live in Bridgewater New Jersey. My roof was done by Deegan Roofing Company Inc of Plainfield NJ a few months ago...it is still leaking after they charged me $6000 to fix it. When I called their office I spoke with a woman that basically said it was "my tough luck" that they didnt fix it. She said that they were too busy to come back to the job they did to correct the faulty workmanship.

Further, she said the roof was NOT guaranteed, even after rain was pouring in far worse than when they started.

The only reason I hired the Deegan Roofing Company was because I saw them in my church bulletin and they were very inexpensive. That was a big mistake.

My house has leaked every day since it has rained and the roof is worse than before I got it replaced. Water is leaking on to my antique furniture which were family pass-downs. Some of the furniture he has ruined is from my now deceased mother and it is very sentimental.

My grandma would have a stroke if she still was alive. That was a family heirloom and a beautiful walnut dining table.

They never came to fix their bad roof. I called Deegan Roofing more then 10 times. I just asked them to fix the roof.

Mr.Deegan told me that I was "messing around with he wrong people". I was very scared of him. He acted like he was part of some kind of "mafia" and did threaten me.

All I wanted was a good roof and now I have to be scared of this company. Please Avoid them. Very cheap prices bur no good.

I find this hard to believe. They do guarantee their work and I am certain should one of their staff talk to a customer such as you say you were spoken to, the employee would be long gone. Unfortunately, the internet has become an open forum for anyone to say anything about anybody and everyone believes it. Did anyone ever think that sometimes we are just a little unreasonable in our demands! I am sure a company as established as Deegan would not continue to be in business if this in fact is how they treat their customers!

I called Deegan Roofing for a repair estimate. Brian showed up right on time. Checked my roof and gave me a price. He said he would check the schedual when he returns to the office later that day and call me. The office called about 2 hours later and said they could
be there in about an hour. That didn't work for me because I was not going to be home. They said that didn't matter, I could pay them some other time. I said I would really like to be there to pay them when there done. They said the would call me. I called them a day
later to find out what was going on and they said they would call me back with a time. Later that day they called and said when they would be there. They showed up a little late but DID A GREAT REPAIR JOB. CHARGED JUST WHAT THEY SAID. I understand the
cost of doing business in N.J. AND THE PRICE SEEMED FAIR. Thank you Deegan Roofing.

Horrible service would never recommended to anyone

Deegan Roofing came highly recommended. I wanted someone I could depend on. BIG MISTAKE. They kept rescheduling my installation and not because of the weather. I waited an extra month. When trying to get a date out of them the women who answers the phones was extremely arrogant and unprofessional. When they finally showed up the workers were nasty and used horrible language. BUYERS BEWARE!

Horrible service! Noone showed up for an appointment. Tried to get hold of them for 4 days, left messages but noone got back to me.

I signed a contract with Deegan Roofing on 01/21/2009 because they sounded very reliable and professional at first. The price i thought was very reasonable and i was very happy and excited to finally get this large job completed. I was told on the day of installation they would be there between 7 and 7:30 am. Someone finally showed up at 9:30 am and told me they would have to come back later because they were working on a roof up the street. As he was looking at the roof again i was told that the contract price was off and that I would have to pay $1000 to $1500 (or more depending on the amount of extra work needing to be done) additional than what the contract said ! I refused to sign a new contract with them and kicked them to the curb ! Never would i refer Deegan Roofing to anybody! Save yourself the aggravation and go with a reliable contractor!

I'm the one who wrote the review for Penyak that you say is exactly word for word like the Deegan complaint...I didn't, however, write the Deegan complaint...just the Penyak complaint...obviously someone took my Penyak complaint and cut and pasted it into a Deegan complaint and changed the name to Deegan...I verified this by using the email option below the complaint...used it for the Penyak complaint and received my own email back...when I used this option for sending an email under the Deegan complaint...I DIDN'T receive my own email...so I confirmed for myself that I had not, in fact, written the Deegan complaint...and the Deegan complaint was written in February of this year...I wasn't looking for roofers in February...I was, however, looking for roofers last August when the Penyak complaint was written...so to clarify all this...because I'm troubled that someone wrote a Deegan complaint posing as me...I wrote the complaint about Penyak...but I haven't had any dealngs with Deegan, so the Deegan complaint is a fake...I am once again looking for roofers and have contacted Deegan for an estimate...when they get back to me...I will let this board know how it turns out

I called Deegan Roofing Company Inc... took the day off from work to wait for them... never showed up for the appointment...called the office... said they'd get right back to me... again no call back to cancel or confirm... so if they can't show up for an appointment or extend the courtesy of a call so the client isn't sitting around all day waiting... then I wouldn't trust them for my roof! BUYER BEWARE

How is this company still in business? We had same problem with Deegan Roofing. We did not do our homework prior to job and went for the price. DEEGAN ROOFING WAS A HUGE MISTAKE!

All of the employees of this roofing contractor are coke heads including Mr. Deegan himself

We have used Deegan Roofing 4-5 times over the past 2 years and have been very pleased with their work. When they were not able to resolve our leaky roof the first time, they returned at no additional cost and continued to try to find the problem until it was resolved. Their communication with us has always been excellent and their staff has always behaved in a professional manner. Because of this we recommended them to my parents, who are also pleased with their work. I'm not sure why others have had such a different experience, but we will continue to hire them and recommend them highly!

They did our roof and our neighbor's last year and we never had any issues.

I had the exact same problem with them.
What a nightmare dealing with them.

IDK if these complaints are even referring to this company!
They came out on Sunday early to avoid
any chance for rain,
a roof I had was leaking, they did mold remediation, replaced wood damaged, showed me photos -and even after I accidentally okd charcoal roof they let me get hickory.
the foreman was awesome, guys were awesome and Brien was professional and courteous. Billy was wonderful and George the foreman was awesome!
I would highly recommend Deegan Roofing and I have given them another job already ;)

I have been a past customer of Deegan's, but I signed a contract with them in November and it is now March and he has been giving me every excuse in the book for not coming. He ran to do my roof when he wasn't busy, but now that he is, he is putting me at the end of the list. I am so frustrated an he really is rude and crude and just totally dismissed me. He actually made a date to do the work and then didn't show up. I know he is competent but he treats the customer like crap.

I agree with Debra also. Our Deegan roofing job was performed professionally, quickly, and with no problems whatsoever. A broken bush you say? That can be replaced. Quality workmanship is hard to find these days. I highly recommend Deegan for your roofing needs. They have been in business a long time and are here to stay. 

I have to agree with Debra. I've noticed that there are identical comments left for both Penyak Roofing and Deegan Roofing... it seems as though there is a spiteful contractor or disgruntled employee abusing this forum

I am happy to say that I don't agree. Deegan Roofing replaced my roof last week. They showed up on time on the day that they said they would and worked to complete the installation in one day. The owner showed up with the workers and directed them to protect certain windows and doors and tarp certain areas. They had already advised me to remove my deck furniture to avoid damage, and they took great care working around the landscaping in the front of the house. They were replacing an original roof to match two additions and the color match on the shingles is perfect.

They did what they said they would in the timeframe that they said they would do it.
